    Oyun 2001 yapımı, haliyle grafikleri günümüze göre göz yakıyor. O dönemlerde çıkan Mafia'nın grafikleri bundan daha iyi ama 3 sene evvelsi çıkmış Half Life daha kötü. Oynanış olarak koridorda ilerle, adam vur, ilerle... diye devam ediyor. Oyunda yavaşlatma var, oynanışa etkisi elbette var ama olmazsa olmaz da değil, oyunun karakteristik özelliği olmuş.     Max Payne es un juego de disparos en tercera persona donde somos un policia encargado de matar a la mafia y tenemos que usar la camara lenta en ciertas ocaciones porque sino podemos morir de forma facil.

    Игру впервые прошел в 2020 году и обалдел от ее атмосферы - ламповый снежный город, с героем, который против всех, а пустые улочки только играют на атмосферу. Игра отлично сохранилась и если зимой запустите, то определенно не пожалеете (да и в любой сезон). Стрельба приятная и во многом до сих пор уникальная.     Besides a very dated save system and limited graphics settings that make it hard to make the game look anything but terrible, Max Payne holds up in every conceivable way you’d hope it would. It’s difficult to think of a game series more primed (and deserving) of a modern day face lift.

    This game is a timeless masterpiece, and that's how it is. It marks the beginning of an incredible journey for Remedy (well, their first game was Death Rally, also good in its own way) but, looking back at this game now,    I played this game back when it came out on PC, and I was blown away in 2001, but I never published any reviews for it, nor its sequel.     This game is a timeless masterpiece, and that's how it is. It marks the beginning of an incredible journey for Remedy (well, their first game was Death Rally, also good in its own way) but, looking back at this game now, where it "all began", I can see the seeds being planted, the ideas, the intention to do a lot more with the franchise, and with everything.

    Without Max Payne, we wouldn't have Alan Wake, or Quantum Break, or Control, and we wouldn't be waiting in anticipation for Alan Wake II.

    Now that the Remake for this game, and the sequel, have been officially announced, I can't wait to see those two games merged into one and running on the amazing Northlight Engine.

    These days, in order to play Max Payne on modern PCs, we need some fixes but, fortunately, they're easy to get and they work amazingly well, still a perfectly playable experience from beginning to end, despite the game having some issues when FPS are uncapped; on my most recent playthrough, I had no issues at 120 FPS running on a 240 Hz screen, though, but YMMV so, if you see any issues, best to cap those frame-rates at 60.    … Expand

    "Max Payne" is a stylish third-person shooter that remains Remedy's best creation. The game is a blend of The Punisher, Film Noir and John Woo movies. It also borrows Bullet Time from "The Matrix". While "Max" is now very dated, it was ranked by critics as one of 2001's best PC titles. Action movie fans will love it. I would rate this with a 9.out of 10.

    Max Payne has fascinating noire atmosphere. The feeling of the game is timeless. Bullet time is still enjoyable on 2022. The only problem that I faced is the dream episodes which are technically problematic and boring.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Разнообразие арсенала радует. Каждое оружие уникально и подходит для определенных условий перестрелок. Правда после, примерно, середины игры, большинством арсенала ты перестаешь пользоваться из-за его ненужности. Враги становятся жирнее, да и появляется более мощное снаряжение, поэтому нужда в стартовых дробовиках и пистолетах отпадает. Под конец игры я использовал только джекхаммер, ингрэм, кольт, снайперскую винтовку и всё взрывное.
    Искусственный интеллект удобоваримый, но не более. Какие-то враги будут обходить вас, чтобы набить свинцом в упор, в том время как другие будут отстреливать вас из укрытий. Но ничего более. Из укрытия враг сам не выйдет, бегущий на вас противник будет бежать напролом.
    Фишка с bullet time очень интересная и не даёт заскучать от стрельбы до самого финала. Она позволяет творчески и стильно подходить к убийству мобов, а также спасает в неожиданных ситуациях. Но всё равно игра держит баланс и не позволяет вам бездумно нестись по уровню, отстреливая всех в slow-mo прыжке. Даже на первом уровне сложности, Макс довольно тоненький и может легко умереть. Поэтому ты стараешься не лезть на рожон и использовать свой функционал грамотно.
    Сюжет интересный, но также ничего удивительного не предоставляет. Завязка истории очень трогательная и ты понимаешь, как тяжело Максу. Но далее, до последних глав ничего интересного почти не происходит. Ты приходишь к очередной шестёрке мафии, убиваешь его и идешь к другой шестерке. И, на мой взгляд, в игре очень много персонажей. Они появляются на два-три кадра, а затем исчезают либо их тут же убивают. Из-за этого не понятно кто здесь важен, а кто статист, будто статисты все, кроме Макса.
    Музыка прекрасна. Главная тема игры невероятно хороша, и врезается в ум и плейлист на всю жизнь.    … Expand

    It is a very old game made by Remedy and if they are good at something, they are good at giving an engaging character with great monologues. The gameplay is just shooting clunky animated bad guys, which was a new thing for that era but what holds it still in this era is the story-telling and the constant twists that keep coming as you progress through the game.     Great noir atmosphere. Revolutionary slow motion gameplay. How beautiful it was. Absolutely everything is good in this game and I can't even remember any shortcomings.

    2022 review: They don't make 'em like this anymore. A maturely written noir story. I struggle to think of better written games. Also the art style really holds up due to the realistic environments the game is set in. Incredible that this was released over two decades ago.

    Impossible to deny the impact 'Max Payne' had on game industry (and mostly on FPS games) when it first came out back in 2001. It was just insane.

    The storytelling was gorgeous, the story interesting, bullet time was just insane, AI was great, boss fights were intense, dialogues were really cool, environment and weapons varied, the humor was awesome and the gameplay was terrific amongst    Impossible to deny the impact 'Max Payne' had on game industry (and mostly on FPS games) when it first came out back in 2001. It was just insane.

    The storytelling was gorgeous, the story interesting, bullet time was just insane, AI was great, boss fights were intense, dialogues were really cool, environment and weapons varied, the humor was awesome and the gameplay was terrific amongst others.

    Now we all have to admit that 'Maw Payne' didn't age well. Like not at all. Controls are pretty bad and rigid (speaking on PC), gameplay is really linear, soundtrack is unnoticeable, opponents shoot you through walls and all benefits from a sixth mysterious sense (generating a crazy difficulty), weapons are not that numerous, lighting is quite bad and some event triggers are really hard to find by yourself. This makes the game way less pleasant to play but still remains interesting to try.    … Expand

I can say that the most important factor that makes Max Payne so good is the episode designs and the character's endless desire for revenge and determination. In addition, although the game was released in 2001, I did not encounter any bugs, so you can play it very easily today, don't be fooled by it's old age.
    You will miss the main soundtrack after the game is over. I'll leave it to the curious

Max Payne changed the gaming industry by popularizing the bullet time effect from the Matrix, which still remains a fantastic addition to the game. The gameplay is so addicting and it keeps you coming back for more. The story was engaging, not too complicated, butEven though it's been 20 years, Max Payne is still satisfying to play as it was back then when I played it on my old computer. Max Payne changed the gaming industry by popularizing the bullet time effect from the Matrix, which still remains a fantastic addition to the game. The gameplay is so addicting and it keeps you coming back for more. The story was engaging, not too complicated, but not too simple, as it utilizes the graphic novel to tell its story and is clearly inspired by Hong Kong action films and neo-noir films. The only downsides to the game is that the graphics look dated by today standards and the enemies can very repetitive. Overall, a great action game that stands the test of time for the most part and still remains very nostalgic to me. Max Payne was revolutionary in its own terms back in the days by introducing something called "Bullet Time" inspired by some of the Matrix's action moments. Sounds during cutscenes don't play 90% of the time, and the music never plays. I'm not sure if it's an issue with my game specifically or with the PC port as a whole, but some other people have also had these issues. Besides that, the game is pretty fun.     Сюжет не замысловатый, но на то время когда было принято сравнивать его в играх с аналогичным в порнухе, очень хороший! Месть, убийство семьи и друга на глазах у протагониста, предательство близких, безнадежность холодного Нью Йорка! Жуть!
    А какая же в игре была музыка! Композиция из меню игры запала мне в душу на всю жизнь, даже не знаю с чем сравнить, может только с саундтреком финальных титров первого "Терминатора", не знаю!
    Но самое главное, что объединяло всю эту прелесть, густейшая, не отпускающая атмосфера!!! Да в этой, именно в этой, игре одна из лучших игровых атмосфер в истории игростроя, ну лично для меня. Поэтому меня сильно расстроило отсутствие такой же атмосферы в Max Payne 2, а тем паче в Max Payne 3!
    Игра не отпускала и пройдя её один раз, я сразу же запустил её повторно! Такое было у меня только с Deus Ex: Human Revolution! И это высшая оценка для игры без прокачек, кастомизаций и с, в принципе, линейным геймлеем.
    Жду, очень жду, ремастера или переиздания. Вышедшее не так давно "HD издание для современных платформ", не что иное как издевательство над гениальной игрой и молодыми игроками. Сейчас смотреть на это невозможно и не надо!
    Как не крути, а эта игра одна из лучших игр вообще когда-либо вышедших за всю историю! И хотя права на франшизу сейчас принадлежат Rockstar, могли бы как нибудь студии договориться и выпустить ремейк на уровне Resident Evil 2 Remake! Я думаю все были бы только счастливы!    … Expand

    Fantastic game. The story is fantastic, the graphics are very good for the time. The 80's thriller movie atmosphere is amazing, Max's poetic comments makes everything even more perfect. The combat is fun and the voice acting is top notch.

    an certified classic , I mean every game with Bullet Time has this in they DNA, A game where you have to quick save every few step because it is f****** crazy difficult and I love it, I almost can't describe how fun it is to nail every bastard in this game , The story is so many cliffy's roll and each other that it works you can really feel the 90 start of 2000 in this one

    Max Payne is one of the games that I played in my childhood and still play sometimes after so many years and it's still playable, you don't feel like this is a 19 years game (Well, actually you feel it but not that much). The story is good, the combat is so fun (BULLET TIME). It's a masterpiece.
