    Good game, and as a brazilian I'm flattered to see that every brazilian character speaks portuguese, not spanish. The game itself lacks that Remedy touch we saw in previous games, and I miss it a lot.

    The game showcases an incredible narrative, supported by strong character development and the iconic Max Payne narration. Yet, the Max Payne ambiance seems somewhat diluted, only surfacing when engaging the slow-motion mechanics or during Max's inner monologues.

    From the outset, it's clear that the reins have been handed from Remedy to Rockstar, evident in the visual style and narrative approach. The once-pervading dark atmosphere takes a backseat, replaced by a distinct Rockstar flavor. Notably, the absence of the beloved comic book cutscenes, replaced by different unique ones, leaves a sense of wonder about this decision. The game's transformation from the shadowy streets to sunnier locales, and from Max's iconic jacket and haircut to a more understated appearance, marks a departure from its origins.

    Although the changes might raise eyebrows, delving into the game reveals its prowess. "Max Payne 3" manages to be an extraordinary game despite embracing a distinctive direction. It's an odd paradox: it's an amazing game while feeling like a different experience altogether. This third installment is both loved and resented, a testament to its complexity.

    Despite the shift in tone, the gameplay shines as the best it's ever been. Max Payne remains the larger-than-life, excessively cool character fans adore, even with a hint of rust. The transformation of the game's atmosphere might have made me feel as though I was playing with Vin Diesel rather than a character from "The Matrix" at times, but I've chosen to overlook the departure from its roots. Why? Because despite the changes, "Max Payne 3" masterfully delivers a truly exceptional gaming experience.     In terms of gameplay and general enjoyment this is definitely the best Max Payne. Although, the story-line itself is definitely the weakest in the series. It has that "Max Payne narrative," but, it feels a bit tacked on when they realized this was basically a cop inside the world of GTA IV with expanded movement. Regardless of that, I've had a blast with the game, I originally played onIn terms of gameplay and general enjoyment this is definitely the best Max Payne. Although, the story-line itself is definitely the weakest in the series. It has that "Max Payne narrative," but, it feels a bit tacked on when they realized this was basically a cop inside the world of GTA IV with expanded movement. Regardless of that, I've had a blast with the game, I originally played on Xbox 360 but, wasn't a fan of the performance. On PC it runs like a dream and looks gorgeous.     Although the third game is far from Payne's original roots, it allows to bring an original fresh take on the story and character of the aging Max and serve something new. Plus the whole thing has probably the best and most satisfying gunplay I've experienced in a PC game.

    Second issue: The 2 minutes unskippable cutscenes are real. NO way I'm replaying this game ever.
    There at fixes, but I shouldn't have to be googling fixes for a game I bought. Issue 3: you can have 3-4 weapons and I didn't find grenades and the weapons are just boring. This game is OK, but Max Payne and Max Payne    First issue: it requieres rockstar launcher to play the steam version.

    Un Third-person shooter casi perfecto, extremadamente divertido y con esas historias tan duras y a la vez satiricas que Rockstar acostumbra a hacer. Los gráficos son muy buenos para la época, con unas físicas impresionantes (El motor Rage es de los mejores).

    the main points for me in a game what will tell if it is good or bad... Physics, destruction, violence and gameplay. well, Max 3 delivers all this in a perfect and satisfying way.

    The only problem with this game is that you complete the story and then you can't skip the cutscenes, you have to see them all. the loads you have in the cutscene are fakes

    Gostei desse jogo, apesar de a historia não tem uma motivação tão boa quanto os 2 primeiros jogos, ela acaba compensando por outros fatores do game.
    Esse terceiro game é bem mais realista que seus antecessores, tanto em gráfico, jogabilidade, mecânica, movimentação, armamentos e nas finalizações das mortes.
    O Jogo se passa no Brasil, que é algo a ser destacado, pois quebra aquele padrão    Gostei desse jogo, apesar de a historia não tem uma motivação tão boa quanto os 2 primeiros jogos, ela acaba compensando por outros fatores do game.
    Esse terceiro game é bem mais realista que seus antecessores, tanto em gráfico, jogabilidade, mecânica, movimentação, armamentos e nas finalizações das mortes.

    A great story with awesome combat with the best third-person shooting mechanics I've ever had enjoyment of playing. Only flaw I can think of is that this game may come as repetitive for some people, but a masterpiece aas a pure third-person shooter.

    Completed single player - hard mode & got most single player achievements. The game-play is great. Biggest downside: you cannot skip over *some* cut-scenes, so you'll have to watch a few times the same 5-minute movie.

    Very good underrated action game. It plays out exactly like what you would expect from a stereotypical action shooting movie. Love the effects and such. Story goes crazy and doesn't make any sense with 1 character taking out so many people but that's how action movies go. LOVE LOVE the ragdolls, I spend hours in this game just for the replayability.

    The game has gotten a complete overhaul since the IP is now owned by Rockstar instead of Remedy. The storyline has completely changed from a cop to private security. The graphics have been improved considerably but the boss fights could have been much better in this game.     I'm glad Rockstar is doing GTA Trilogy remaster for new consoles and PC, but Max Payne trilogy needs to be remastered as well for new consoles and PC. It's one of the best shooters of all time and can't just get forgotten forever.

    If you want to make depressing game that is actually good, then this is how you do it. Incredible writing, amazing graphics by 2012 standard and shooting feels great. If The Last of Us 2 developers were making this same game, they would have killed Max Payne in first 10 minutes and then you would play rest of the game as Max's enemy.

    Me parece incomprensible que haya jugadores que no lo valoren con nota más altas. El juego tiene una calidad gráfica y una jugabilidad, que ya le gustaría a muchos juegos de ahora tener. Te engancha desde el primer momento. Tal vez, por ponerle un “pero”, son demasiado insistentes con los problemas de alcohol que tiene el personaje.

    Story is not good as 1 and 2 but it is still good closure. There is no need for so many cutscenes though, and I prefer comic book presentation.

    Controls and mechanics works pretty well. Great weapon variety and gunplay. Bullet time is improved.

    I still don't like bald Max.

The dark atmosphere that got under your skin is replaced by action. Comic movies have been exchanged for normal movies, and overall, don't look for the magic of previous episodes here. On the one hand, it's great to see that Rockstar Games did not forget about the fans and offered us moments when you were thinking and it's like then. There are a couple of flashbacks in the game, where you go back to time and especially to the atmosphere of the previous parts. It was these parts that I personally enjoyed the most. But I must admit that the action ones also had their charm at the moment, and overall I enjoyed them. Fortunately, Max Payne's main jingle is still here, and it still works for me, despite the fact that we are not in snowy dark New York, but in sunny São Paulo. For me, a great game that has undergone a change. For some for the better. For some for the worse. Overall, you can see that the Rockstar Games worked on this, because the game has a total touch of GTA V. So for me, a great game that I recommend.… Expand

    The gameplay is without a doubt the best of the game. Being able to shoot and aim while moving in the third person, being able to rotate 360º on yourself when aiming even on the ground, take cover, bullet time, how good the gunplay feels being able to carry two weapons at the same time even being different, its different missions such as the sniper copied by other games in 2013, the zip line and being able to shoot at the same time. Each chapter feels different and the i.a. of the enemies is at a good level, the physics are incredible with the last death bullet created in real time and its effects on the bodies, the physics of Max when he moves carrying the weapons changes and the weight is felt when running, move. This game is very undervolorized

    It is an ideal game for speedrun lovers with a trophy / achievement of passing it without dying, with quite challenging regressive time.

    Online is very addictive, but many of its modes are paid dlc's and there are people who prefer it that way before gta / rdr micropayments, because they are very wrong    … Expand

    Absolutely amazing game. It's everything that made the first two great, but more. More action, better physics (with the highlight being the euphoria physics, making for some really cool and dramatic deaths), better gunplay, and a fantastic soundtrack.

I found this unfortunate because I personally liked a lot of the characters in the previous max paynes, especially Mona Sax. There is no love story here, as there was in Max Payne 2. The game is concentrated more about trust between Max and others and Max struggling with his age and his drinking problems. However, the plot itself is intense, and makes you want to move forwards to see who is behind everything. There are nice twists, and the enemies make you want to kill them because they are so heartless. There is a notice in the rise of the default difficulty compared to previous max paynes. For one, you cannot save whenever you like. There are checkpoints. Secondly, there are a lot less painkillers and smarter enemies.

    One thing you notice right away when playing is the inability to move as gracefully as you could in previous max paynes, especially Max's walking and running speed. It has took a dive, I this reflects on Max's age. Shootdodge is not as effective as previous games. Enemies are smarter, because they hide behind cover more intelligently, such that they may stay behind cover the entire time you are airborne. Not only that, when you land, there is a bit of lag that is enough time to get you killed if you failed your shootdodge. There is also an online multiplayer mode.

    The graphics are very nice. The environment is detailed, however, you cannot interact with as many things as you could in the previous games. These items include cub boards, sinks and toilet, drawers, etc. The ability to open these things up and check for ammo is all gone. You can only pick ammo up from your dead enemies. The dialogue is just as great as always, however there is no more graphic comic cutscenes, but instead live cutscenes where there are flickers and stills that reflect Max's state of mind. You may not enjoy this game as much if you do not like cutscenes interrupting your gameplay, because there are a lot of cutscenes. Personally, the story is so amazing that I love watching the cutscenes and the fantastic animation and dialogues.

    Finally, if you have a PC, get it for the PC. Analog controls for aiming make the game too hard unless you enable soft-lock/hard-lock. But in my opinion, those locks take the fun out. The precision of the mouse and keyboard are practically a necessity for this game unless you have a lot of experience with using analog sticks for shooters.    … Expand

    a video game version of bruce willis' John McClane. gritty, grimy, brazily and lots of bullets and slow mo headshots make this a fun time from beginning to end. wheres the sequel? maybe a remaster at least?

    Played this today, i'm super late, been a fan of max payne 1 and 2 fall of max payne for years now but never got to play this one but you can tell that this game is a "bit closer to heaven".

    Most underrated Rockstar game, so well made tho. I have no idea what Remedy would have done with MP3, but imo Rockstar did good job. Writing is solid and shooting feels really good. I'm pretty sure Remedy likes it.

    Best fun shooter game I ever played. The story is good and the action gameplay are very satisfying. The Brazilian and Spanish cursing are so cool. Would love to see more max Payne with the awesome "bullet time".

It's not perfect, my main problem is unskippable cutscenes, specially because this game has some really long ones and it gets very annoying second time around. Other than that it's great.     - левелдизайн в игре чертовски удачный, и уровни на самом деле хочется исследовать, останавливаясь у каждого угла, и впитывать в себя лучащиеся детализацией и кропотливой проработкой декорации. По уровням разбросаны секреты в виде улик и элементов золотых стволов - это всё в игре для галочки, но зато найти барахлишко не проблема ввиду линейности локаций.
    - география перемещений Макса максимально обширна и разнообразна. Если в первых двух частях посещенные Максом локации в большинстве своем сводились к чередованию подворотен и складов, то в триквеле почти каждая миссия происходит в новом месте - болота, стадион, аэропорт, трущобы, город, полицейский участок и даже заснеженное Нью-Йоркское кладбище сменяют друг друга со скоростью поездки на американских горках.

    Минусы:
    - чекпоинты расставлены с максимальной ненавистью к игроку: не раз, не два и даже не десять тебе придется снова и снова пробегать один и тот же отрезок, сливаясь практически в самом конце. В целом, такие чекпоинты - откровенная геймдизайнерская оплошность.
    - по мере прохождения всё реже и реже приходится использовать slo-mo (называется bullet time) - оно безумно красивое, но у противников безумно подлый aimbot, меткость которого сводит на нет эффектные пробежки в замедлении.
    - ныряющие прыжки, во время которых можно разряжать во врагов весь свой огнестрельный запас, тоже оказываются не очень эффективными на более поздних этапах. Дело в том, что при касании о любую поверхность при прыжке замедление выключается, и тебя, развалившегося на полу, мигом инкрустируют свинцом. Так что в основном ты отстреливаешься из-за укрытий, что не очень радует, даже несмотря на великолепные ощущения от стрельбы.
    - насыщенность событиями и динамикой отчасти вредит игровому процессу. Все новые локации грузятся во время самих заставок, но происходит это долго и нудно - скорее всего, намного дольше, чем если бы игра не была занята ничем лишним помимо отображения надписи Loading. А еще из-за этого игра весит 30 гигабайт на ровном месте, вот так.

    Вывод: у Max Payne 3 хватает как гениальных находок, так и откровенных недостатков. Но, несмотря ни на что, это действительно очень крутой боевик, который грешно пропускать. И живое доказательство тому, что не стоит цепляться за прошлое.    … Expand

    Max Payne 3 might be most underrated good "Rockstar Games" game ever. It barely sold 5 million copies and overall not many people know this one, but it's so well made. Incredible graphics for 2012. If i'm not wrong, at the time it was most expensive video game ever made.

    So underrated. This game has amazing graphics for 2012 game. Only downside is that you can't skip cutscenes. But shooting, level design, graphics are top tier for 2012 video game.

    Really fun game, it has a really good story that's comparable with something like Taken, great combat, and amazing graphics! The only cons I thought the game had were its rather short story and lack of players in multiplayer(which is kind of expected in an old game such as this game) 9.5/10 Amazing game!

    This is one of the best third-person shooter game ever made, I am not quite sure if I like this Max Payne 3 or Max Payne 1 the best, One of the few things that I think that should have been fixed along time ago Easter loading times it is **** Ridiculous how long it is , I would recommend it and if you are looking for at good first person student try vanquish

    Un juego que no ha vendido lo que merecía. Un juego sobresaleinte de acción shooter en tercera persona, con tiroteos espectaculares con destrucción en ciertas partes de los escenarios, una buena historia, y la optimización de pc es muy buena, y es de Rockstar el juego, raro es. Recomendado sin duda.

    Absolutely loved it, played it so many times. The sound track is just so good. Especially the song that plays during the last mission through the airport. I love the way Max cracks off these one liners throughout the game play. The writing is just brilliant. I keep hoping for a port to xbox one.. but doesn't look like that will happen. I highly recommend.

    The writing in this game is fantastic and it's noir theme hits dark and depressing tones in an impeccable manner. I hear people complain about not being able to skip cut scenes to which I would say why the heck would you want to do that? That's like sex without the climax. I'm a little embarrassed as to how much satisfaction I get unloading my gun into a fool and watching in slow motion the holes appear around his body and watching the blood spurt. So the action is fun and so id the story so why don't I give it a ten? I thought the action got a little monotonous at times. They tried to shake it up a bit with scenes from a copter, a boat, and a bus but it wasn't quite enough. Overall the game was quite fun and I totally recommend it.    … Expand

    I have played Max Payne 3 three times in a row. I don't regret it. This game is like the Goodfellas of video games, you'll keep coming back to play it all over again just like you'll watch Goodfellas many times over and over again. The reason why these two medias are so successful is because of the writing. When it comes to Rockstar Game's library, I think Max Payne 3 stands out the mostI have played Max Payne 3 three times in a row. I don't regret it. This game is like the Goodfellas of video games, you'll keep coming back to play it all over again just like you'll watch Goodfellas many times over and over again. The reason why these two medias are so successful is because of the writing. When it comes to Rockstar Game's library, I think Max Payne 3 stands out the most mainly because it deviates from a lot of the messages seen in all other games they have made in the past. All GTA games tend to focus on the "American dream", even L.A. Noire does this in a certain way dealing with Cole's addiction to his career and the eventual thing that happens to his family near the end of the game which I won't reveal. Bully also followed onto the American dream, having Jimmy in an environment where he has to change things to sustain a living.

    Max Payne 1 and 3 deviate from these ideas of the "American dream", rather it focuses on a deeply depressed ex-policeman who is struggling to deal with a past that is damaging him as his life moves forward. However, the extent of this impact is visible the most in Max Payne 3. The first game was all about revenge and exploring the NYC underworld. Here, Max is thrown into another underworld but this time he has no idea what's going on and everything is just crumbling down, he's manipulated and as the player, you also are placed in his shoes to experience his own manipulation. Working for a dysfunctional and corrupt family, the player only sees everything fall into place at the end and that's why its good, it feels that we gain satisfaction from finally revealing all of the mayhem that's going on during the story.

    I think Max Payne 3 also deals with many of the messages in the game brilliantly, especially the message of mental health as Max is a really depressed guy who gets the ending he deserves. When you compare it to whatever nonsense is put in the media today like 13 reasons why, Max Payne 3 is far better in dealing with it as it gives the player a relatable protagonist who also provides a sense of realism to the player. Say what you want about the game's depiction of Brazil, but recent issues such as operation car wash and the current gangs shooting out with the BOPE forces in the Favelas showcases that the issues in the game that are explored are quiet accurate. BOPE in particular have been corrupt in the past, even officers of the BOPE forces banded together to make the book Elite da Tropa detailing this further. This is why Max Payne 3 stands out the most in comparison to GTA, it is quiet realistic in dealing with these themes.

    The second time I played this game I was in a bit of a bad state and it helped me a little bit because I could relate to Max and how he was being treated and manipulated in the story. To this day I still do because it can provide you with strength especially in seeing how life in other places is different to yours. This isn't some "oh someone bullied me I'm gonna go kms :(" nonsense, this is the "Oh I'm being manipulated but I need to find out what's really going on around me and gain the upper hand" story. This is why, when detailing a message like mental health, you need to provide realism, strength and entertainment to people. Something that 13 reasons why failed at.

    I'd recommend this game any day of the week, it's brilliant and I even think media people should be analysing how great it is because of the messages and writing which make it up. The music is astonishing. If you thought Fallout 1-2 provided you with an amazing atmosphere, just listen to the music in this game. It's definitely one of the greatest OST's ever made and it's proper intense. This game is a straight 10/10 and the only people who don't like it seem to be people that adored the second game. In my opinion, the second game deviated from the story WAY too much, it isn't like the first or third game which is more believable.

    Please buy this game, especially when its on sale on steam, it is also excellently optimised and will run on any computer. Buying this game will show you a game that the developers really cared about and wanted their consumers to have as much fun as possible    … Expand
