    I little behind Mass Effect 1 in the history, with a little forced start for the character, but with improved mechanics, the same level for characters and with an huge improve in the scenarios. Better game overall.

    Basically the perfect RPG, and luckily more shooter as far as combat goes so you don't have to worry about hit chance and what not. Also the game became "do side missions just to unlock more Thane dialogue" real quick.

    This game is the peak of BioWare that will never come back. Commander Sheppard comes back from the dead to stop the Reapers from invading the Milky Way. New companions are awesome and reoccurring ones are 100 times better than in the first game. Gameplay is less rpg and more action oriented. No more weapons that differ only in stats. Plot has a weird pacing that entire game is just aThis game is the peak of BioWare that will never come back. Every character can also die, the game can even end with everyone dead, won't be able to upload that save to ME3 though. Its an epic adventure don't expect deep existential metaphors. Let me assure you, the remaster is the way to go! With its superior graphics, fewer bugs, recent updates, and inclusion of all DLCs, it offers a better deal, delivering the entire Mass Effect trilogy at higher quality and a more affordable price. The only drawback being some performance issues in hubs some have reported (me included).

    Now, let's talk about the game itself. Mass Effect 2 is undeniably a masterpiece, but it does come with a few issues. Some bugs remain unfixed, the mouse sensitivity can be wonky, and there's the occasional micro-stuttering in certain areas, though not everyone experiences this. Regrettably, there are two bigger problems: a rare game-breaking bug that causes characters to fly randomly (requiring a reload) and occasional issues with sound positioning.

    Despite these hiccups, Mass Effect 2 shines brightly in its storytelling, captivating characters, and vast universe. Compared to its predecessor, the game takes a different approach by being more action-oriented, ditching some of the RPG elements. While I miss the exploration aspects from the first game, the action focus complements the story better. The transition from heat-based weapons to bullets makes sense gameplay-wise, although I do wish the change was better explained in the game's lore.

    The story of Mass Effect 2 is nothing short of compelling and mysterious, pulling you in with its darker tone and intricate character arcs. The choices you make have profound consequences, and the depth of the side quests and stories is truly mind-blowing. While I wasn't entirely satisfied with the ending, that's likely a personal preference, and it didn't overshadow the overall experience.

    The gameplay in Mass Effect 2 is flawless, offering a seamless flow in events that kept me engaged throughout. The combat is top-notch, a significant improvement from the first game, though I wasn't a big fan of the changes to the powers system. The global cooldown on abilities made them less appealing to use, which was a slight disappointment for me.

    Expressing my love for Mass Effect 2 is no easy feat; it's a game that left me speechless with its brilliance. I had an absolute blast playing it, and it's undoubtedly a significant step up from its predecessor, whether you prefer the action-oriented approach or not. It has earned a spot as one of my all-time favorite video games, solidifying Mass Effect as one of the best series out there.

    One minor letdown is the lack of Steam achievements for the game, despite having an extensive list of in-game achievements. This oversight dampened my excitement as I managed to unlock all 62 of them, but alas, no one on Steam will witness my accomplishment.

    The story is super well written. The decisions and different ways you approach the missions makes you be part of this story. There are a lot more companions, that means lot more of side quests, every of them super well designed so are really enjoyable. The combat improved a lot. Is more tactical, more difficult.     The scenarios also improved a lot, all of them being unique.
    Planet exploration was almost removed and that's good because was boring and not well implemented.
    Item and skills management was simplified so you don't need to lose a lot of time on managing inventory, weapons and so on.

    My only complains:
    - The part of the Citadelle that you can visit now is so small.
    - The sprint time is still laughable.
    - Still many dialog selections trigger the same result. And so many times the selection doesn't fit the expected dialog.

    GOAT game for me. Best one of the series. You must play with all ME series for better expirience, but even without them is great game in every aspect.

    ME2 strikes a nearly perfect balance between the fun of action and the importance of dialogue that very few other RPGs understand. The story is great and very well told, with some fantastic characters and incredible moments. It's like playing an epic sci-fi movie! The combat can feel very basic at times, and there are some moments that get boring, but, as a whole, ME2 is a fantastic experience.

    People have mentioned that after this game, Bioware started going downhill. However, I wonder if its because of the success of this game, and the audience embrace of streamlining and casualization that Bioware went in that direction in the first place.    … Expand

    A great answer to the over-saturation of space sci-fi atmosphere created by Star Wars. A truly superb space opera with an outstanding script that I plan to return to with the re-release of the entire trilogy.

Какому-то понравится, кому-то нет, но исчезли исследования скучных одинаковых планет и поездки на Мако. Сюжет остался закрученным и интригующим. Боевая составляющая стала намного лучше, удобнее и красочнее. В итоге, игра    Тех , кому понравился первый Mass Effect, второй порадует еще больше.

    A fabulous sequel, the amount of epicness exceeds the number one, the characters are well-sketched, so I had no problem remembering them and I never confused them. All in all, this is one of the better games that puts out the myth that sequels are always definitely worse than the first installment, because I dare say that this game comes out a lot better than ME1.

    Had a blast playing the second installment to the Mass Effect trilogy. Even though its shorter than the first the missions were much more developed then the first but the environment felt lacking. But still its a great space fantasy.

However, Mass Effect 2 is debate-ably more ambitious than those franchises combined. And dare I say it: MassMass Effect has become one of the most iconic franchises in the growing field of gaming, and it's easy to see why: it feels like a franchise that's always been there and it has a self-constructed history that we buy, just like the worlds of Star Wars, Star Trek and Doctor Who. However, Mass Effect 2 is debate-ably more ambitious than those franchises combined. And dare I say it: Mass Effect leaves the Halo franchise for dead (but that's just my opinion).

    This game is one of the most phenomenal experiences I've ever seen play out before my eyes, and I'm happily replaying it now. The whole series is immersive, deep in character development and freedom of player-choice: I can't fault this game if I tried. It's gorgeous, fun, exciting, and it's got an engrossing story that can take you on so many side-quests that are necessary to your choices as the player.

    The characters are three-dimensional, graphically and figuratively speaking, and they don't bore you; they compliment the world of Mass Effect even more with their presence. No character is a carbon copy of the other; they're all their own persons, something that a lot of developers wish they could say; but most cannot.

    Mass Effect 2 is a masterpiece of the video game medium and I think it's even suitable for non-gamers who want to try something new in the world of sci-fi.    … Expand

    You realise this game is good when you re starting to care about the characters even after 15 mins of gameplay. I actually started this game cuz i got the legendary edition in 2021, and i finished mass effect 1, and i said why not i dont have anything else to play lets give this series a chance. It leaves room for debating witch character is better, cuz some are complete a holes at first. Dont imagine every character is **** winnie the pooh no, it s far more complex and realistic. 9.7/10 for a 2010 game, 9.2 for 2021 idk its still worth it thats my point… Expand

Generally it is considered the best of the Mass Effect games and for good reasons. This game is another great example of how to make a sequel to a already successful game. The developers kept what was good about the original Mass Effect, namely the atmosphere, theMass Effect 2 is the second installment (duh!) of the legendary Mass Effect sci-fi action RPG game series, released in 2010. Generally it is considered the best of the Mass Effect games and for good reasons. This game is another great example of how to make a sequel to a already successful game. The developers kept what was good about the original Mass Effect, namely the atmosphere, the emphasis on the crew, improved what needed improving, like the depth of some of the characters, more interactions onboard the Normandy and completely left out the boring Mako missions. On top of that, BioWare took some risks and basically constructed the story around a single mission. So the first two thirds of the game you just go around the galaxy and gather your new crew. It is a bold move, but it absolutely paid off. Creating strong characters always was something that BioWare did very well. With all the DLCs installed there is twelve companions in total, all of which have a distinct personalities and backgrounds. My personal favorites are: Miranda (obviously), Samara/Morinth (the least predictable moment in gaming history), Mordus (salarian autistic genius able to rationalize anything) and Jack (really messed up). The number of important choices you can do is also greater than in the original game. You can easily lose a companion through a dialogue. The graphics is also greatly improved. There are more romance options (and more interesting options, I might add). Monetary balance is great. Just about everything is better than it was in the Mass Effect. There are no obvious negatives on this game. The probe system is very slow and boring, but you actually only need about 20% of all the available material to upgrade everything you can upgrade. Still pretty slow and boring. Mild microtransactions (overpriced DLCs) and no SJW politics.

    Major DLCs: Arrival - interesting, yet short DLC with serious consequences for the entire galaxy. Overlord - a slightly longer DLC about a rogue VI with (again) pretty grim choice at the end. Lair of the Shadow Broker - storywise, this is the most important DLC, should have been part of basic game.

    Fantastic sequel, one of the best and most enjoyable BioWare games, hell one of the best games period. Final Verdict: 95%    … Expand

    В игре чувствуется очень мощный технический базис, но вот сюжет как то не настолько затягивающий и эпичный как у первой и третьей частей. Для меня эта игра ощущается как некий спин офф, Шепард в отпуске, что то вроде этого. Потому что первая и третья ощущаются очень схоже, а вот эта как будто куда то в сторону от серии ушла.     Really great game, better than me1 mostly thanks to the improved level designs. I didn't hate the mako sections in the first game like some people do but this games definitely better for not having it. Also there is more amazing cinematic scenes compared to me1 and the areas are prettier in general. The stories are pretty comparable in quality imo.     Simply put- ME2 is one of the best games of all time! In my top 5. Shepard is at her best in this one. It’s great building your crew and going on loyalty missions for them. There’s such a wide variety of missions- never gets boring. It’s a great action rpg. There are great boss fights- but the worst enemies for me are those damn husks! It builds up to a great ending mission- although itSimply put- ME2 is one of the best games of all time! In my top 5. Shepard is at her best in this one. It’s great building your crew and going on loyalty missions for them. There’s such a wide variety of missions- never gets boring. It’s a great action rpg. There are great boss fights- but the worst enemies for me are those damn husks! It builds up to a great ending mission- although it sucks losing some of your crew. The 4k graphics look great- especially in several face models like Thane. It builds well off of ME1 and leads well to ME3.     This game is my personal favorite from the trilogy. At first I wasn't really invested in the story, but after meeting a couple new characters and learning more about this universe I must say I had the time of my life playing this. It has everything I loved from the previous game and adds a lot of new things.

    Fantastic game. This is the action packed chapter of the trilogy, however it is not only that. Here you will be introduced to another group of characters, but you will still have comeback from the first chapter. The relationships are deepened, there are loyalty missions that give you a deeper understanding of the characters and what they went through. The conversations are more eye openingFantastic game. The conversations are more eye opening and frequent (aka more dialogue to unlock). The cinematography is just fantastic, even the "less appropriate" shots, if you are actually paying attention, are luring immersing us into the game wanting us to please and help the character even if the motives might not be as "paragon like", but personally from my playthroughs, leaves the imagination flow on your character build. The combat is quite the stop up from the first chapter. We start with a great opening (even though I would have worked in some more credible "excuses") and a fantastic final battle, where BioWare fulfills the promise of "your choices matter". However, the mechanics do change, like shooting with R1 instead of R2 stuff, and makes it confusing (even after release, just because the review is dated 2021 doesn't mean I haven't played it before now), since R2 tends to be the designated trigger command. The story doesn't have much juice, BUT I do view the trilogy as a whole, so I do view this as more of a get to know these characters more and there is more build up to the whole of the story, however it does fall on that front. it seems like what happened in the first game takes a back seat, it adds on for sure, but sort of takes away from what we lived with the characters before then just cause it is a "new chapter" and you are presented with a whole new crew which gives it that introductory feel that the first games in a trilogy usually does. HOWEVER I can forgive it cause... well... the beginning of the game sort of gives you a knew beginning wink wink... The final mission is mind blowing, YOUR DECISIONS MATTER, even though the final boss fight, if you are not on hardcore mode, may not seem hard. This is a great game for those who like action movies for sure; it is highly enjoyable, a game you will be wanting to play over and over to get a favourable outcome and will blow your mind. However make sure to get the DLC as well! You must! A great second chapter.… Expand

    A brilliant mix of shooter and role-playing, filled with great characters, excellent design, lots of action and clever dialogue. It's a shame though that Bioware did not improve the inventory and skill system of the first game, but actually reduced it even more. I really wished there were more customization options, more ways to develop and gear up my characters. But all these are merely small points of criticism, since there is so much to feel and experience in this game. Mass Effect 2 is a thrilling, emotional ride and ultimately every bit as good as its predecessor.
