Thematic problems aside however, the plot is filled with enough twists and turns to stay interesting throughout the game’s expansive runtime, and while the individual visual-novel segments might start to grate, they do a good job of breaking down the dungeoneering.

    Great game!
A dungeon crawler RPG in the line of Etrian Odyssey, in its purest sense with a good difficulty curve, huge dungeons to explore, and some fan service spliced all over.
The game has some mechanics that allow a lot of character customization, and further exploration of previously cleared dungeons adding to the re playability.
The story is quite enjoyable, if you don't mind the japanese anime tropes, it's a bit more serious than older Idea Factory games.
The battle system is turn based, with the main character serving a support role, while the fight is done by a huge cast of folk/fairy tale inspired characters. There's a mechanic for buffing characters by consuming a gauge that fills by dealing attacks to enemies.
On the cons side, the graphics are a bit simple, and the music can get repetitive really fast. Also, there's a lot of enemy recolor, in fact, the enemy models are few. There's also some mild violence and fan service, (over sexualization of female characters can't be negated). But if you don't care about that, you're in for a great dungeon crawler
