Walk around boring environments, listen to boring exposition about a boring story, do boring Mario Party mini-games involving "shocking" gore, repeat for 6-7 hours until the game ends without actually explaining anything and telling you to make up your own ending before showing you murder yourself in first person. Oh yeah it's also beyond buggy and runs like garbage.

    This game seems to only be made to make money on controversy instead of actually being good. It's not even a horror game, there is no scares or tension or anything.    … Expand

    Un thriller psicologico molto complesso dove dovremmo gestire noi come far avanzare la storia e gli eventi nel gioco ci sono moltisimi enigmi dai più semplici a quelli più diabolici senza mai perdere il tetro che e alla base del gioco. Una cosa che ho amato giocando a Martha is Dead è quella di fare le foto e stamparle, è stato tutto ricreato alla perfezione come all’epoca. Scattare le foto, metterle a fuoco inquadrare tutto manualmente come se stessimo davvero impugnando una reflex di quegli anni. Come dettto poche righe più sopra, tutti i dettagli le location sono rapressentate in modo magistrale senza e se senza ma. Tanto che sembra di essere nella realtà una grafica strabiliante, perfetta.     Estava cansado de jogos de terror genéricos como Layers Of Fear, Resident Evil 7, Outlast e sei lá quais drogas mais existem. Martha Is Dead entrega algo que os verdadeiros fãs do gênero querem: terror!. Acredito que o jogo tenha se renovado no gênero e criado um estilo próprio, mesmo que muitos não gostem.     Buggy & boring! not worth the money. Crashed about 10 times, can't skip dialogue which believe me you'll wanna when you've had to restart a section for the millionth time because its broke, not scary just puts in some body horror,even that isn't interesting enough to buy this just watch a playthrough wish i hadn't wasted my money or time on it.

    I am sorry to say this because the developer is Italian like me and I would have liked to support them, but I can't understand how this game is classified as "masterpiecce" or "Beautiful Gameplay".

    Once, when I was young, I was forced to stare at the drying cement for an afternoon and that experience was way less boring than this game.     An excellent game. I've been missing a REAL horror game. The amount of detail is out of this world. Congrats to the developers, better than the most big developers we see. We should give an aplause for them! Congrats

    This game feels more like a tutorial in how to operate a 30's era Camera than an actual horror. Yes they hyped it with the WW2 Germany theme and the "graphic depictions of violence" but it really doesn't carry any water.     With products like this there really should be another category that defines a Game with a Visual Novel because while it does look also photo realistic the premise is very boring.

    Anyone who ever played Everybody's Gone to the Rapture you'll know what i'm talking about as that too got rave reviews from critics and turned out to be a very slow moving (literally as the walking pace was slowed down to accommodate the graphics) visual novel with very little going on past you walking to places and listening to soundbites of people who used to live there.

    If you are a Camera enthusiast you'll love the game just for that. If you are looking for a psychological horror that has you on the edge of your seat this isn't for you.

    Personally I don't really see how this is a game and more of a movie where you occasionally do stuff just to make it look like you can do something interactive.

    Hollywood would call this art. I would call it an attempt by a Game Developer that would much prefer to be a Movie Director.    … Expand

    Thrilling story. Truly awesome visuals. Great length (8+ hours) for the price. Must have for every fan of horror and disturbing, dark art.

    This game is just perfect! , Story is amazing , Graphics is Perfect it makes you stop playing and just watch amazing views. The music just fits perfectly, it touches the heart, simple gameplay which is understandable for this type of games.
    Its a masterpiece. They nailed it ,Everything is perfect. thanks to LKA

    The game is not for everyone, but if you're a casual not into jumpscares, but into storytelling BUY IT IMMEDIATELY. Negative reviews that are made here are clearly made by childish and still not matured people. Trust me, support this project made with love and smart storytelling and cinematography. Just be prepared to a slower paced game than usual. But that's not the game's fault. It'sThe game is not for everyone, but if you're a casual not into jumpscares, but into storytelling BUY IT IMMEDIATELY.     One of the most disappointing adventures I've been on in a long time. Incredibly short experience that felt like an entire half was missing. Last section felt like a quick way to end it.

    Nice graphics badly optimized. Synchro is mixed - they main character is well voiced though. Story is great but lacks in the end. Great game overall if you want a walking simulator with a nice setting and story. I would not say it’s a horror game.

    Maybe this game has a good storyline and atmosphere. It's hard to draw a conclusion because the game is unplayable. Mediocre graphics. But terrible brakes on a fairly strong computer. I played Cyberpunk comfortably on ultra settings. But this game slowed me down terribly on medium settings.

    This game is one of the best I have ever played. It takes a while to get into, but in the end it is so much more than just great visuals. Deeply moving and a great story about war and mental illness.

    Игра оставила более-менее положительное впечатление. У неё довольно интересная завязка сюжета, которая погружает в себя и держит в состоянии напряжения, особенно ближе к концу игры. В игре затронуты глубокие темы отношений в семье, то как это всё влияет на человека и мораль у игры явно присутствует. Но с технической точки зрения всё не так    В принципе неплохо, но и не вполне хорошо.

    Игра оставила более-менее положительное впечатление. У неё довольно интересная завязка сюжета, которая погружает в себя и держит в состоянии напряжения, особенно ближе к концу игры. В игре затронуты глубокие темы отношений в семье, то как это всё влияет на человека и мораль у игры явно присутствует.
    Но с технической точки зрения всё не так хорошо. Железо моего компьютера более чем соответствует, но FPS проседает на улице и в рандомных местах игры. Очень долгие загрузки и частые фризы. И ладно если бы это всё было оправданно, но ты выходишь из дома и видишь нарисованные в пэинте мыльные деревья и картонные задники. В принципе, почти всё, что находиться вне главного дома, выглядит сомнительно.

    Позже появилась проблема, из-за которой я бросил квест с телеграфом. Перевод телеграфа на русский язык выполнен просто отвратительно.
    TANK переведено как БАЧОК.
    ON FIRE переведено как ПОЖАР.
    OVER переведено как КОНЕЦ.
    Казалось бы, всё переведено по смыслу, к чему я придираюсь? К тому, что в общем контексте переведено неправильно. Героиня должна была начать с кодовой фразы "Город в огне", а не, как получается, "Город пожар" сообщить о танке на дороге, а не о БАЧКЕ. Более того, перевод не синхронизирован с субтитрами. В субтитрах пишется одно, а на деле оказывается совсем по другому. Мелкий пример, героиня говорит, что в конце нужно написать "приём", но приём, то есть, англ. OVER переведено как "конец" из-за чего очень легко запутаться.
    Ощущается, что игра картонная и плоская. Чего не скажешь о сюжете, посыле и идее.

    В общем, это очень интересный проект, со своей изюминкой. Можно сказать, что меня впечатлил сюжет и идея, а это самое главное.    … Expand

    I didn't expect it to be this good. Very well crafted and written game. Amazing and very realistic visuals. One of the best psychological horrors that i have played.

    I would call it a very weird and even a bad game. It left me disappointed and frustrated. But aftera month or so I can call it a brilliant piece of art about mental illness, just like Hellblade Senua's Sacrifice. It looks very good, it has interesting characters and story. Half of the time I really enjoyed it. But... There were weird and illogical plot twists. There were plot lines thatI would call it a very weird and even a bad game. It left me disappointed and frustrated. But aftera month or so I can call it a brilliant piece of art about mental illness, just like Hellblade Senua's Sacrifice. It looks very good, it has interesting characters and story. Half of the time I really enjoyed it. But... There were weird and illogical plot twists. There were plot lines that meant nothing for it's story. Game had some disgusting violent scenes, but when some real violence happened and I would except you see it, it was off screen... There was a mini-game that was absolutely boring, meaningless and long. It was the worst part for me. And the ending... Khm... It was visually absolutely stunning, but it left me fully frustrated. As I said, it was sometimes a good experience, but as a whole - disappointing. But I keep thinking about it. And as my disappointment is loosing it's sharpness, I begin to understand all those "bad" decisions. They make total sense and are done to illustrate mental illness. Next part of my review will be full of spoilers as I want to explain some elements of the game and why they aren't bad as I thought at first. SPOILERS

    First of all, violence. There are disgusting scenes, but most of them are happening in protagonist's mind only. And real violence that I would except to see is hidden. That's how our brain works, it tries to hide really painful and traumatic experience from us. Especially when person is I'll, he (she) can fully wipe it. Then, dollhouse mini-game. It was just awful. Boring, very long, without any sense. But. I realize now it was the only way for protagonist to "understand" what happened, to put it in order. She doesn't know what really happened, just like us. She is in the same position as we as players. Dollhouse, magical plot lines are made to show how her brain works, how hard is to put on order pretty simple things she saw by herself. How it's hard to catch up with reality. And the ending that gives literally zero answers and makes us to decide what happened is brilliant. It left me frustrated. Just like heroine was. She doesn't know what happened and she has to choose any option and to believe on it just to make her world more safe, structured. Once again, it's a weird and a bad game. But it gave me the feelings that protagonist was feeling, and it deserves some respect. I really want to thank devteam for that.    … Expand

    Ma con questo titolo mi hanno proprio sputato in un occhio.
    Storia che mi ha tenuto incollato tutto il tempo (anche se non sono riuscito a concludere una delle missioni secondarie). Grafica e musiche eccellenti, doppiaggio (italiano) molto buono (mi ha quasi sempre soddisfatto), animazioni forse qualcosa in    Vedendo i video, ero già intenzionato a prenderlo, ma senza aspettative alte.

    Concludo con i miei più sentiti complimenti (anche se da parte mia non so quanto possano valere), gioco meraviglioso e continuate su questa strada.
    Chiunque abbia la possibilità di provare questo titolo, lo faccia, è una vera e propria esperienza.

    Martha is dead è appunto un gioco soft-horror ma non HORROR, quindi non si deve pensare a scene che ti fanno saltare dalla sedia o dal letto dalla paura.
    È un gioco dalla grafica CURATISSIMA e DETTAGGLIATISSIMA, tutto curato nei minimi dettagli e particolari.

    Despite a promising hook and a convincing immersion into 1940s Italy, Martha Is Dead caters to a tiny audience willing to put up with disturbing themes, game-crashing bugs, and little sense of adventure.

    Martha is Dead, despite struggling to hold my attention at times, is a well crafted game, with incredibly detailed visuals and models, an interesting cast of characters, and an unsettling but highly intriguing story to tell. If you're a fan of psychological thrillers and horrors, then Martha is Dead will undoubtedly be your cup of tea.
