Apr 28, 2026A calming, creative experience built around the joy of arranging and personalising small spaces, the simple but cute look and relaxing atmosphere of MakeRoom make it easy to lose track of time while experimenting with ideas. It thrives when you let your own imagination free, as it's more focused on offering a gentle, low-pressure escape rather than gamey, structured goals. Sadly, the clunky controls, its somewhat cumbersome interface, and the lack of placement precision can interrupt the flow, making the experience feel less smooth than it could be.

Sep 26, 2025When I started playing MakeRoom, I had no idea what to expect from it. The sandbox nature of the game might seem difficult to deal with at first. But rest assured, the game doesn’t add a lot of pressure, it’s very fun to play, and you’ll find yourself enjoying the experience all the time. You can spend 10 minutes or 10 hours on a build, if you want. And, of course, you can easily save it and even share it with other people online. I was excited to get back to MakeRoom and play many times, just because I know the game is something special. The fact that it allows my creativity to run wild on a blank canvas and I am able to create anything I want is always fun. Granted, it can feel overwhelming for a newcomer. Thankfully, the tools and items provided are easy to understand, and there’s always the trial-and-error approach. Regardless, if you want to decorate a room, boat or van in any way you want, you may want to test MakeRoom’s excellent toolkit.
