    Физика, графика, сюжет, саундрек, это все здесь на высшем уровене. Это больше чем просто игра на пару вечеров, это игра которую после первого прохождения вы не сможете забыть, захочется пройти ещё и ещё. С каждым новым прохождение вы будете понимать всё больше и больше на сколько эта игра продумана и проработана. Это игра не имеющая аналогов, она идинственная в своём роде. И никакая втораяФизика, графика, сюжет, саундрек, это все здесь на высшем уровене. Это больше чем просто игра на пару вечеров, это игра которую после первого прохождения вы не сможете забыть, захочется пройти ещё и ещё. С каждым новым прохождение вы будете понимать всё больше и больше на сколько эта игра продумана и проработана. Это игра не имеющая аналогов, она идинственная в своём роде. И никакая вторая мафия не сравниться этом недооцененным искуством.
    Но к сожилению не все понимают уникальность это игры, да, я про вас, гребные фанаты второй мафии возобнившие, что вторая часть лучшая во вселенной. И в основном почти все такие фанаты, имеют не больше 16-ти лет. Малолетние пиздюки    … Expand

    billions of illogical moments like cops dont give a f*ck about anything except your actions
    the game has really good details that were breakthrough in 2002 like sleeves and gun magazines on the ground but all theese details mean nothing when u dont have an openworld
    yes formally u do have openworld but actually not, it performs the role of decoration between activity points in missions
    u can start freeride mode but its nothing to do in it
    that is the definition of the game - boring and imbalanced
    some people say it has great gameplay, story, characters, atmosphere and music

    music as a part of atmosphere gives nothing except annoying screaming track while shooting that makes u tired of it because of infinite reloads of the missions
    i even tried installing trainer in order to compensate imbalance and just enjoy the story but it seems that the game was programmed by some kind of dumbs because in some incomprehensible way it breaks mission scripts, makes ordinar npc immortal and even makes your teammate shoot you, i have played dozens of old games with hundreds of mods an no one except this one provided such a stupid errors

    its is nonsense for me because i know a lot of much betted old games with lower rates

    - Missionsdesign fühlt sich zu fest nach Grind an.. fahre 3x dort hin, treibe 3x Geld ein.. etc. In einer Mission muss man ein Rennen fahren, mit 5 Runden! Wenn man restarten muss, geht diese Misison über 30 Minuten.
    - Leider gewinnen die Frustmomente in vielen Situationen die Oberhand. Retry nach retry nach retry. In jeder Mission gibt es irgendeinen Bug oder Unzulänglichkeit.

    It was quite difficult, but I didn't give up, sometimes it's enjoyable, I definitely don't recommend it in 2022. I couldn't progress on mission 19 because it's buggy.

    A remarkable game with a long story and a great gameplay. If you like mafia movies, this is the go to game for you. The graphics are still quite good for a game that was released 20 years ago.

    Были большие надежды на ремейк, однако, он получился калом, где геймплейного контента столько же, а еще он испорчен, уродская стрельба, механика ускорения машины это вообще ужас. А сюжетного еще меньше и еще он куда хуже После игры в ремейк мне куда приятнее играть в оригинал    Очень хорошая игра, единственный минус - мало контента, как сюжетного так и игрового, в этом виноват возраст игры

В игре ужасно все: механики, скрипты, сама структура миссий, и ужасно это даже со скидкой на возраст игры. Потратил на эту дрянь вечер, и даже этого времени мне жалко. Единственный плюс - это сюжет, чем Мафия всегда славилась, однако лучше посмотреть прохождение, в которомОтвратительнейшая игра. Обожаю классику, но Мафию почему-то обходил стороной. И во время анонса ремейка в 2020-ом году чёрт дёрнул меня всё-таки ознакомится со столь знаменитым оригиналом. И каково же было моё удивление: спустя почти два десятка лет первая часть выглядит и играется вполне впечатляюще. Во многом, конечно, благодаря сильному повествованию, выверенной режиссуре,Долгие годы я игнорировал саму первую часть Мафии, являясь при этом почитателем второй. И во время анонса ремейка в 2020-ом году чёрт дёрнул меня всё-таки ознакомится со столь знаменитым оригиналом. И каково же было моё удивление: спустя почти два десятка лет первая часть выглядит и играется вполне впечатляюще. Во многом, конечно, благодаря сильному повествованию, выверенной режиссуре, бесчисленному количеству мелких деталей и бескомпромиссному геймдизайну Даниэля Вавры. После столь мощного оригинала, порезанная и хаотичная вторая часть резко упала в моих глазах. Ремейк хоть и сделан в целом качественно, но более голливудский лоск, динамичный темп и недостаток бюджета всё же не позволяет назвать его полной заменой оригинала. Я бы предпочёл чтобы им занимался всё-таки Вавра.… Expand

    Great atmosphere and story, amazing soundtracks, gameplay is ahead of its time with all the little features the developpers took care about. And i also love how almost every mission in the game is iconic in its own way, so you could remember all of them after completing the game quite a while ago, and that's what next Mafia games lack in my opinion.

    I finished this beautiful adventure on Friday 11 February 2022. Even if on a graphic level, given its age, it is no longer flawless, the game still has its own reason. Reserve certain goodies even today that leaves you speechless .. Interaction with the police is something crazy that no game today replicates.     I spent hours spinning around the map, darting at full speed just to be chased by the police and given me a ticket.
    Too bad that the limiter was only with the fixed speed at 60, there are no variants at 30 or 80.

    One of the biggest drawbacks in my opinion is that the AI of the allied NPCs is not at the top.
    Especially since you are accompanied on almost all missions.
    In many cases, missions fail more through their fault than the player's fault.    … Expand

    Foreword: I've wanted to play this game for a long time. I remember how I came across the second Mafia, I liked it by itself (I could not get through it because I was a weak PC, and in the end I just hammered the bolt) and it became interesting to me to see where the roots are coming from. It was about 2017-2018 year, I went to YouTube and watched the game of the first Mafia. It seemed to me quite good and I realized that the passage of this game would not pass me by.

    Gameplay: Hardcore as it is, sometimes it was annoying in the missions the protracted complexity of the game. The most striking example is the survivability of opponents - 6 bullets point-blank from a police revolver and the enemy continues to stand on his feet and fires back. If it seemed to you ordinary, then how do you like 3 bullets in the head from the above-named barrel and the same thing! It was also very enraged by the mission where Polly was jammed by Thompson and because of this you had to quickly get away in the car. Do you think it's as easy as in some GTA? - NO! Enemies literally stick to you, turn you around, calmly go around all sorts of obstacles such as suddenly leaving cars or objects such as flower beds, poles, etc.

    Plot: There can be no questions at all, this is the only game that I perceived as a film. I cannot compare this game with the plot to other games, since you are facing a very realistic, logical, dramatic and incredibly interesting story about crime, friendship, love of the 30s. with your twists and chips.

    Characters: I can only say one thing - there are no extra characters, everyone has their own behavior, their own manner, their feelings, and so on.

    Game world: The city of Lost Haven appears before you (the prototype is a mixture of cities such as New York, Chicago.) Here I was very pleased with adequate traffic without any chaos on the roads. I also really liked the trick with fines for driving on red, speeding. A variety of cars, weapons.

    Bottom line: I liked the game, but not so much that I admired it, it is still outdated for our days, no matter how we would like it ... I myself am a lover of 3D games of the early 2000s with an open world, but in order to just play comfortably in normal aspect ratio, with normal drawing and resolution, I was forced to download plugins from the Internet.     One of my top 10 games of all times. It may not be the right cup of tea for everybody but I can play this game again and again and never get bored of it. What a masterpiece.

The shooting was pretty bad, you never know when the enemy will rush onto you or when they'll just sit like chickens ready to give birth. The dodge roll system is laughable, you try to roll and you get showered with bullets.
    The driving is so bad that i want to bang my head on the wall, i remember failing so many missions because i just randomly hit a curb that sent me flying or even made me die instantly for no reason even when i was driving at 20 mph (i ride my bicycle at that pace). The shooting from car is broken, you just can't kill the enemies that way, you don't even know if they're getting damaged or not, they don't cry, no blood falls out, you just keep shooting hoping they die once. It takes so many shots to kill someone that you just wonder what the heck is it that they eat/are wearing or if you're using nerf guns. Oh yeah, SO MUCH DRIVING, I DON'T WANT TO DRIVE SO MUCH, IT'S A PAIN IN MY GODDAMN ASS. The driving is not fun and they force you to drive so much, what is this, taxi driver?

    The voice acting is 5-6/10, it feels sometimes like they're just reading it off the script, i feel like the script is so good that the voice actors just had to read it to make the story feel great. Good lord was the story good, the script could've used some polishing but you can just feel the amount of love the writer had, the feelings he wanted to convey, the story he wanted to tell. The only reason im giving this an 8 and not a 3, the story made me want to finish this god awful game. Trust me, if there's any reason to play this game, it's the story. I still feel like Mafia 2 has a better story but nevertheless, this is still beautiful, some polishing and a stellar cast would've made a terrific film.

    The gunshots sound pretty powerful so plus points for that, the soundtrack was pretty cool actually but got repetitive. The main theme tho, when it started playing near the ending, ughh i just lost control.

    Side rant : to the people that say "oh this game is from 2002 what do you expect from the gameplay?" I played Half-Life, Max Payne, Diablo, Age of Empires 1 and 2, Hitman 1 and 2 (the og), Fallout 1 and 2 and most notably, GTA 3, all of them were amazing but gta 3, good lord was it good, i experienced no bugs, had a crazy amount of fun and just could not stop smiling and thinking about this game, so no, i won't go easy on this game because it's from 2002, if it is actually good it will stand the test of time. I wouldn't have minded the graphics if the gameplay was good buuut it wasn't so another thing to complain about, something about it just feels bland, compared to gta 3. IMO hitman 2 looked miles better and GTA 3 as well, let's not talk about the beauty that was Metal Gear Solid 2..... haha so you get the picture, it is old but that doesn't mean games weren't smashing good back then, it's just an excuse for bad game design.
    They were ambitious but made a **** game with an amazing story, I felt awesome reliving this story but wanted to end myself when playing the game itself, hope whoever reads this doesn't feel the same way about the gameplay as i did and has a blast like others did.     The Mafia series is one of my favorite series of all time. The story is absolutely amazing and unforgettable. There are moments that make you cry and that you will really never forget. The characters and missions are also well written here. For me, the game deserves 9.5 / 10.

I have been playing - sometimes casually, sometimes hardcore - the game for close to two decades now, and keep coming back to it, even as the life goes on with its own sets of challenges & news. I have played Mafia 2 & 3 & DE with hopes that even one of them comes close. None did. Mafia 1 will always be the game for me and I am extremely grateful to the devs for the work they put in this title. An absolute masterpiece that even in 2021 has an extremely dedicated speedrun player base that constantly reverse-engineer the game to find ways to beat it quicker (as well as a base of faithful players that keep on playing nearly two decades after its launch).     Gameplay however is terrible. At first missions we do boring taxi job and it takes too long to actually get to the action. Car handling is average, it is not that fun to drive cars. Movement and gunfights are slow and tedious. You move around the corners and try to shoot every enemy without exposing yourself too    Presentation is really good.     If you combine impressive graphics (for 2002), a compelling story, a great open world environment (It has to be taken into account that this one was released prior to the ground-breaking GTA Vice City), good gameplay and diverse missions (from shooting to stealth to driving), you get one of the greatest games of the decade.

    All subsequent editions were embodied not for the sake of high-quality games, but only thought about the business of money in order to use this brand of the name Mafia) So this is the only original that to play to this day with great pleasure.     Миссий в игре более двадцати, и каждая из них четко отпечатывается в памяти. Чего только стоит ночь в маленькой деревне, когда под проливным дождем вы должны отбить своего товарища у гангстеров, вооруженных до зубов.
    Заглавную тему исполняет Bohemia Symphonic Orchestra, а по ходу игры музыка меняется с каждым уровнем - то нагнетая атмосферу, то разряжая ее.
    Киношные ролики между миссиями выполнены на движке и заставляют вспоминать всё того же "Крестного отца". Мимика персонажей уникальна, а движения таковы, какими они и должны быть у живых людей. Потрясает внимание разработчиков к мелким деталям. Убегая от гангстеров и спрятавшись в каком-то дворике, можно спугнуть забулдыгу, справляющего малую нужду прямо у подъезда одного из домов. The graphics was very good for the time and even if you play it today, it is not immersion breaking. The music is another great aspect of this game. Both the songs on the radio and the original theme music are brilliant and help to create the atmosphere of the 1930s so well. Same thing can be said about the various historically accurate cars in the game. And driving them is just pure pleasure. The driving system is pure simulation, something you almost never see in these kind of games. Plus the infamously difficult racing story minigame is also great. I would like to criticize this game for something, but honestly I cannot find anything wrong with it. The save system may not suit everyone, but I have no problems with it. Maybe there could be more of content like secondary quest (beside Bertone's quests, which are very good), but I cannot consider it a negative, that would be blaspheming. Obviously no microtransactions and no SJW politics in this game.

    This game was one of the first ones that truly amazed me. I play this game again and again every couple of years now and I am not going to stop anytime soon. Final Verdict: 97 %    … Expand
