This was due to a Mesa issue and the developer didn’t have an AMD GPU to test with. Luckily the Mesa team was able to fix this and now the game runs. Sadly after all that I can’t say i enjoyed what I played of it. The voice acting was pretty good. The story seemed too vague and I didn’t have much of an idea what was going on. The platforming was a mixed bag with my main issue being that I didn’t like how you rolled into a ball when jumping as well I didn’t like the skating feature. Early on I was going to complain that there was no map but then I was randomly hitting buttons and found the one that opens a map. The issue was then that I found the map to be be near useless as it had no legend forcing me to figure out what the symbols meant on my own. This was a common theme of Luna Sky where very little was explained very well. Also I was randomly hitting buttons because when you’re in game you can’t view the controls. You also can’t remap the controls at all. One the plus side you can advance to the next level without finding all of the crystals if you want but also know that any crystals you find will not carry over so best to cash them in before advancing. You won’t know you’re at the end though as it isn’t marked in any way. The graphics are alright but not mind blowing in any way. The music is in that vein as well, good but noting special.
I played Luna Sky on Linux. It has an AA toggle and 4 graphics options. Alt-Tab works. You can save at save stations or on exiting the game. If you choose upon exiting the game it will put you at the nearest save station when you next run the game. Every other time I run the game any time it freezes on launch. I simply have to kill it and then the very next time it will run fine. Given that the developer still doesn’t support AMD GPUs I doubt this will be fixed any time soon. The performance was strange. The frame rate itself was great but the system resource usage, especially the RAM usage was far more than what the visuals should have needed.
Disk Space Used: 2.2GB
Game Version Played: 1.5
Input Used: Logitech F310
I only paid $1.39 CAD for Luna Sky but I still can’t recommend it. I just didn’t enjoy the game play and found the game to be too vague and leave you to figure out even the most basic things as well as lacking, what I thought to be, basic features. I played for about an hour before quitting.

"Modern graphics" just seem to be modern due to the futuristic appearance of the game. But they are quite uninteresting. Also the soundtrack is nothing special either.
The story was almost nonexistent and I totally forgot what it was at the point I quit playing.
Overall nothing special, the developer recommend the usage of a controller, and that is valid. But it is as valid as in any other platform game of the genre.…Full Review »
