Harvest energy from monsters with dubiously-ethical science. Learn about new critters so they'll stop breaking out. Kill Clerks by the dozensHarvest energy from monsters with dubiously-ethical science. Learn about new critters so they'll stop breaking out. Kill Clerks by the dozens so the corpse mountain can't smell them bleed. Augment your Agents until they're unstoppable forces of nature. Forget you left someone in a cursed bunker until half your facility has breached. Read the manual. Travel back in time to escape your mistakes. Confess your sins to a floating Jesus skull. Meet again as stars.

An amazing game with an excellent lineup of creatures to research and contain, a very strong sense of tone and atmosphere, enjoyable core gameplay, and a really intriguing story with a lot of deep lore to uncover. The early game is rather simple, but things quickly develop until you have a fascinating mishmash of monsters whose management conditions you all need to keep in mind, and challenges later on will really test your skill as a manager.

Now, the gameplay itself is fun, but where I think Lobotomy Corporation really shines is in its story - you wouldn't expect much of a narrative from most management/simulation games, and its slow start here might make you think LC is the same way, but the story is what takes what would otherwise be a neat SCP-esque monster containment game and turns it into a masterpiece. I don't want to spoil anything, but there's a lot more going on in L Corp than "morally dubious energy corporation", and there are a lot of mysteries and twists you'll uncover along the way. The worldbuilding is also quite intriguing - you may never leave the facility (not until the sequel, at any rate), but the writing does a really good job at painting a picture of the world outside and why things in the facility are the way they are.

The soundtrack also slaps. I don't have anything eloquent to say here, it's just some real bangers that are great fits for the scenes/days they play in.

Probably the best game I played in 2019, and the sequel has so far proven to be a worthy successor. Cannot recommend this highly enough if you're a fan of management games or story-driven RPGs. Goes on sale fairly often, if you're unsure about buying it full price. The early days are a sort of "soft tutorial", if you're not sure about the game at first I really advise trying to get to at least Day 21 or so, that's around when things really pick up. And don't forget to read the manual!

The most wonderful thing about this game is the completeness of the game.

What I mean by perfection is the unity with which the system in the game is portrayed as a worldview.

For example, there is a double-speed function in the game, but this function is explained as being made possible by the use of technology from a company with a worldview, and a meta-inhibition occurs when the double-speed function cannot be used in the event of a high difficulty accommodation violation.

The appearance of the characters is also explained by the worldview, and there are not many games that have such a sense of unity!

Lobotomy corporation is a game where you have to manage some "abnormalities" to produce energy.
in theory its pretty simple you pet the dog -> dog gets happy -> produces energy ->everyone safe
well, it gets harder than that because you cant just win by petting only the dog because there is other "things" that may require some attention too like a dimensional disruption that needs to be studied and so.
this game may be slow and repetitive at start but after you get more and more dangerous abnormalities each one with his unique needs it gets more interesting, because you may not have to remember all their needs but you will certainly have to be aware of the dangerous ones.
you will think "well if a dangerous abnormality escapes i can restart" well yes but sometimes you will get a low chance item that its worth the sacrifice or, even better, you will get a special gift for defeating the abnormality in a fight.

This game is great because you will have to trust your guts most of the times when you first meet the monster and then you will use simple logic and understanding to know what to do next.

The story is there, not the best but it can catch you because will look sometimes in your thoughts or play with you.

Great game, good replayability, a lot of things to learn, really immersive if it hooks you.

The negative of this game is how linear the first days can be and the difficulty can increase greatly depending on the monsters you choose. In addition to this is added the incompatibility with the steam workshop, which makes it somewhat tedious to obtain new functions or content.
Overall it's a game that I recommend if you like the concept of SCP and Fallout Shelter. Although I recommend buying it at a discount.

Lobotomy Corporation touts itself as a mix between a buisness/monster simulation and a roguelike game. This description is incrediblyLobotomy Corporation touts itself as a mix between a buisness/monster simulation and a roguelike game. This description is incredibly misleading. When you think of a "simulation", one would assume that there would be different aspects you control in the game, but those mechanics are completely shallow. And the "roguelike" aspect only comes from the selection of artifacts or monsters you choose from when given the opportunity to do so.

As far as the whole simulation aspect is concerned, there's very little of it. You can "hire" employees, change their equipment and decide what they do, based on the department they work in. That's it. There's really no management of resources, or selections of departments or tools or anything like that.

As far as the game goes, it's very simple, each successful day completed you choose from a new "abnormality" (which is labeled under a serial number). Then you spend the day trying to understand it by studying it while maintaining and containing all of your other abnormalities.

Studying a abnormality is completely a game of guess work and can completely ruin a game until you know what's going on with it. Unless you've watched play throughs and understand what they do and what they need, all you can do is blindly click.

After you complete research of a abnormality, it's just a matter of grinding energy and packages from them. That's it. The first couple of day(s) can be fun, but the longer you play, the longer you realize that's there's actually very little gameplay holding this game together. And it gets boring very quickly.

For almost $25.00 for a "indie" game, I would have really expected a lot more based on what they actually advertise. In some instances I would actually argue their STEAM store page may be misleading and possibly false advertising.

If you can get this game for $5.00 then fine, take a chance. But at full price this game is a full blown rip off.
