    "Life is Strange: Before the Storm" defies the misconception that Unity games are ugly or basic in terms of gameplay. Deck Nine has proven this with their remarkable work on this game.     The game successfully captures the essence of "Life is Strange," and the outstanding OST adds to the familiar feeling. Playing as Chloe is an absolute delight, and I'm grateful to the developers for allowing us to step into her shoes.

    In terms of gameplay, the character hubs and mechanics are well-designed, reminiscent of the first game. However, I must admit that I did miss the rewind mechanic. The new gameplay mechanic introduced for Chloe lacks the appeal of her lacking superpowers.

    While "Life is Strange: Before the Storm" may not reach the same level of the masterpiece that is the original game, it doesn't mean it's bad. It shines in its own right, despite being a side-story prologue. The emotional journey of Chloe is both sad and heartwarming, providing a captivating experience throughout.

    As someone who cherished every moment of this game, I am beyond satisfied with the overall experience. Deck Nine managed to turn Chloe's dreams into a reality, crafting a compelling and touching story.

    However, I must warn you, the last scene after the credits took an emotional toll on me. Kudos to Deck Nine for breaking my heart with that impactful ending.    … Expand

    Terrific experience just as the first opus is. They succeeded in offering us something different but with the main features that makes the core of the franchise. Here, no more time travelling, just the rigorous consequences of the choices you have made.
    Amazing soundscape and soundtrack based on 'Music Before the Storm' from the Daughter band, and some other miscellaneous artists. Special    Terrific experience just as the first opus is. They succeeded in offering us something different but with the main features that makes the core of the franchise. Here, no more time travelling, just the rigorous consequences of the choices you have made.
    Amazing soundscape and soundtrack based on 'Music Before the Storm' from the Daughter band, and some other miscellaneous artists. Special thanks for Wolf Alice's apparition in a time when they were far less popular than now. The music really is appropriate to the scenes in the game and never feels too much. The game lets you the ability to have some moments of contemplation lulled by a soft music. Furthermore, the pace is enhanced by spaces of silence or graphic scenes that bring real depth to the whole. These were some of the best moments in my opinion.
    I liked the 'fight by provocation option' available in some conversations, even if the translation makes it a bit more difficult to succeed.
    The story is quite interesting, even if sometimes it feels like we have to consciously make pointless or foolish choices. In addition to that, some decision absolutely doesn't fit in the expected consequences, which makes the playtrough vaguely unpredictable. On the other hand there is no doubt that we embody teenagers in their worst phases of opposition, constant questioning and in a way rebellious and extreme behaviors. These behaviors, however, do not make it difficult to see where the story is going.
    I especially enjoyed the number of protagonists we can interact with, and the small things they all add to the atmosphere. I found the character development of Elliott and James to be particularly noteworthy. Unfortunately, I can't deny the fact that some other roles are relatively unidimensional.
    The bonus episode ('Life is Strange: Before the Storm Farewell') definitely sums up the game as brilliantly as intensely.    … Expand

    Vom Gameplay her gefällt es mir sogar mehr als die Telltale Spiele.
    Edit: bereitet einem ein ordentliches Gefühlschaos aber es ist wunderschön zu durchleben!

    В игре показано, как один человек может поменять твою жизнь, и стать тебе очень близким человеком с которым готов пойти на край света. И в особенности, это показано во втором эпизоде. Когда Хлоя и Рэйчел хотели сбежать из Аркадии Бэй. И даже в конце третьего эпизода, я смог пустить слезу.

    Интересный сюжет, хоть и слегка уступающий первой части, да и сама игра намного короче. Немного жалею, что не начал проходить знакомство с Life is Strange именно с этой части, а начал играть часть с Макс. 7 из 10

    The characters and there relationships are also worked out well.
    Greatest weakness of the game is that there are too less thrilling or action moments; therefore you can get bored.

    Game started promising but the forced romance, cringe dialogs and bad writing (especially ep.3) becomes unbearable fast. Though bonus episode Farewell were heartwarming for me, it was nice to see Max and Chloe as a kids

    I like this game, but what getting more give it what getting is that it doesn't stay canon to what is stated as canon from the first game. This game breaks many moments that got confirm as canon in first game. Doesn't mean that I hate this game. Just don't like how it ruins the canon.

It is absolutely a worthy prequel with new (and old) interesting characters, twists and an emotional story. Especially when you consider the events of the first game, which makes everything more tragic. Damn, it hit me hard.     I finished "Before the Storm" yesterday but I still can't get over the fact it is the end - no more Max and Chloe in my life. I think the best way to describe my feelings right now is to compare them to the feeling of losing a friend, a real friend in real world - I have never lost a friend in my life (until now) but I bet it feels exactly the same way. Of course the story is superb, theI finished "Before the Storm" yesterday but I still can't get over the fact it is the end - no more Max and Chloe in my life. I think the best way to describe my feelings right now is to compare them to the feeling of losing a friend, a real friend in real world - I have never lost a friend in my life (until now) but I bet it feels exactly the same way.     I remembered this game being really good and preferring it over the original LiS but after replaying both back to back I'm really disappointed in this one. I still think it's worth buying and playing for the experience but would give it a 7/10.

    Life Is Strange: Before the Storm is a prequel to the original game, which I very much enjoyed and would call it one of my favourite games till now. Before the storm builds up the backstory of one of the protagonists of the orginal. The game is short and feels rushed. It`s not building up a high scale endgame but instead focuses on some pretty well handled character development.     El juego esta OK. Es una precuela por lo que ya sabemos que es lo que va a pasar y no hay nada para que hacer para evitarlo por lo que se pierde el factor sorpresa que tiene este juego.

    Los dialogos no me gustaron mucho, hay algunos que se vuelven lentos, por lo menos en ingles, hablan muy lento, dan muchas vueltas los personajes, parece que fue hecho a proposito para estirar un poco el    El juego esta OK. Es una precuela por lo que ya sabemos que es lo que va a pasar y no hay nada para que hacer para evitarlo por lo que se pierde el factor sorpresa que tiene este juego.

    Los dialogos no me gustaron mucho, hay algunos que se vuelven lentos, por lo menos en ingles, hablan muy lento, dan muchas vueltas los personajes, parece que fue hecho a proposito para estirar un poco el juego ya que solo son 3 episodios la cual tarde 12 horas en completarlos, mientras que en Life is Strange original que son 5 episodios tarde 16 horas.

    Los movimientos y expresiones faciales son los mismos que en el juego original, parecen robots y que quitan inmersion en la historia ya que no son capaces de expresar las emosiones de los personajes.

    Este juego tiene un 4 episodio que solo se puede conseguir con la edicion Deluxe, en este jugamos con Max, DURA SOLO 20 MINUTOS, es muy muy corto y no aporta nada a la historia, solo podemos ver lo que antes nos contaron en el juego original. Y tambien por las expresiones faciales que tiene este juego, los personajes no son capaces de expresxar sentimientos por lo que a mi sentimentalmente no me afecto porque parecen robots.    … Expand

    Both Life is Strange and Before The Storm are great games. Easily 8.5 or 9.

    But! If you'll play them one by one, they'll become even better. As one story, they are close to perfection. And if you haven't played any of them - try BTS first. I think it may help understand Chloe's behaviour, etc. during original LiS. For me - easily one of the best characters I have ever seen in    Both Life is Strange and Before The Storm are great games. Easily 8.5 or 9.

    But!

    If you'll play them one by one, they'll become even better. As one story, they are close to perfection.

    And if you haven't played any of them - try BTS first. I think it may help understand Chloe's behaviour, etc. during original LiS. For me - easily one of the best characters I have ever seen in video games.

    Unfortunately - only 3 episodes. It's too few, 4 would've been perfect. But still, both games absolutely worth playing and if you are OK with almost "no gameplay games", it's a must-play title.
    Not everybody would like it, but if you care about story, about the feelings, about the human tragedy - give it a try.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Through a friend suggestion, I picked up the deluxe edition for 5 bucks. Worth every penny. Although the game is not that long (3 main episodes and a prequel bonus), it goes deep. Very deep. You play Chloe, a 16 year old rebel, who meets Rachel, a rich prissy type, and they fall in love. Opposites attract right?

    The story was very good. Great in fact, with lots of twists and decision making. As you progress through the game, you have choices to play as the rebel Chloe has become, or (through dialogue choices), turn her into more of a nice girl. Personally, I liked the rebel, pure and true. The voice acting was also pretty good, and the graphics were decent.

    The game was very sad at times, and for the soft-hearted, you might just cry. This is especially true with the bonus episode "Good-Bye" where you play a 13 year old Max who is (was) Chloe's best friend before she had to move away.

    Any ways, the reason I am only giving the game an 8, is because, despite all the choices you can make which changes things around you, the game only has two possible endings, with one of them just adding an extra cut scene. So, not much replay value here. One or two plays and you're done forever. At least that's my opinion.

    In closing, a super effort by Deck Nine. I am happy I played it. It has left quite an impression on me; one that may just have a long lasting effect. Great. 8/10.    … Expand

    The latest game in the series, Tell me Why, got another name but I know too well it derives from
    LIS as well, it's the well known cocktail of ingredients that people seem to like, and in that regard isn't bad at all! The black sheep of the series is part 2 imo. LIS is a one of a kind game, and    Life is Strange is together with Before the Storm the best two parts of the LIS universe.

    Most probably who plays Before The Storm already played the original game, comparisons might sometime favor one on top of the other. I personally find the prequel a very good game (not superior to the original, but rather in line with it), no comparison needed: very good mechanics adjustments to create similar gameplay feel but fit to the protagonist's personality.

    Also the soundtrack is perfectly adjusted to this. Actually, both games have very good soundtrack choices, different genres, but good choices for the situation. Not to mention, the lyrics were sometimes incredibly well fit even if the music was not always part of those special designed soundtracks for the game - if you listen carefully you'll be surprised.

    As you reveal in the first game the secret lives of dorm mates and colleagues, which sometimes changes your perception towards their behavior, Before The Storm allows the player to discover Chloe's story. You only know from the first game that she is a rebel and seems selfish even if in the end of the original game you can already tell she is actually not a bad person, and is capable of being good, selfless and caring. But you still don't know how come she was best friends with Max even if they seem to be so different, maybe also Chloe was different in her childhood? Also, what is the story between her and Rachel? The game manages to answer these 2 questions for you, still giving lessons of life about being kind with the ones around you (even though you can chose whether you want to be nice or mean to the ones around you, depending on how you view Chloe). You can find even some inspiring words of wisdom here and there, if you read carefully. The game is basically showing you the transformation of Chloe after losing her father and her best friend. Makes you understand and sometimes feel even sadder about some decisions (even seemingly insignificant) in the original game, and even understand why Max barely recognizes her.

    In conclusion, it is another well written playable story that teaches us to put an effort into understanding each other and trying to be nice, since we might not know what a person is truly going through. Maybe the reason for their anger and the "leave me alone" attitude is just a self-made defensive mechanism in order to prevent even more suffering. Not sure if it will work to play it as a standalone game, but definitely worth a try if you enjoyed the original Life is Strange game.    … Expand

A very well written and paced story about how meeting someone new can save your life. It has the right amount of drama, romance and angst. It's definitely worth playing, though I can't say the same about episode 3.

    The story starts focusing on the adults when it should remain on Chloe and Rachel's bond. There's some good parts; like on Rachel's bedroom, inside the shack, Rachel's hospital room and the ending montage; but filling in the plot holes... it's a mess. You have a buildup with Steph and Elliot on Chloe's sexuality and it's not addressed, which makes them irrelevant. Elliot shouldn't have been important mid-episode. Rachel being absent for half the episode was a bad move when the focus should be on her, we should be on this adventure WITH her, not doing things FOR her. The post-credits scene was a big f*ck you if it wasn't build up for another game letting us decide Rachel's fate.

    In conclusion, this game is wonderful, worth the play, but it could have been better.    … Expand

    It is a must-play if you enjoyed the first game. Some people did not enjoy the changed gameplay, I did though and that they added a little twist to it to fit the protagonist.

There are clear signs of the finale being rushed and/or reworked late into the development, with threats being resolved off-screen, Sara's OD coming to absolutely nothing, Sara doing an uncharacteristic 180 on her motivation to see Rachel despite prior years of efforts to do so, etc. The soundtrack is brilliant, the highlights for me were Daughter's songs "Flaws", "Youth" and "Burn It Down".     I especially like what they did with Frank, Chloe’s drug dealer. I felt like they added some good depth to him and he had some of my favorite moments of the game. Mikey and Steph also had one of the better moments of the game when you can play a D&D game with them. I guess my main issue with the game was that, while Life is Strange had no shortage of teenage angst to it, there was also a lot of serious issues covered such as murder, a missing friend, suicide and the destruction of the town. Before the Storm does cover what it can such as the death of Chloe’s father, a bit of political corruption and one very deranged drug dealer but overall there is a lot of angst for the sake of having teenage angst than heavy issues. Overall though it was still enjoyable and had some touching coming of age moments as well. One thing I liked was there were plenty of reasons to both like and dislike pretty much each character. Like in life no one is perfect and sometimes you want to smack someone upside the head even if you care about them.

    The gameplay is pretty similar to the original where you have to solve some light puzzles to progress, many of which won’t give anyone too much trouble. Except for the amulet puzzle in the bonus episode. That thing took way more effort than I expected. You get plenty of dialogue options and choices to try and tailor the story to you. The graphics are surprisingly similar to the original. I expected more of a change considering the engine change but there wasn’t. While the graphics aren’t worse they also aren’t better. The game always had kind of a comic book type of vibe going for it not outright realism so I’m not being overly hard on that front. The voice acting was well done across the board. The soundtrack was awesome and really fit the game well.

    I played Before the Storm on Linux. I used version 1.0.1 of the game on Steam. The game uses the Unity engine where the original used the Unreal Engine 3. This allowed the game to run much better. The original never ran great for me on Linux, usually 20-30 FPS maxed out and that is par the course for Unreal 3. Before the Storm maxed out ran at a constant 144 FPS with the odd dip to the 130’s for a second or two. I credit the engine switch with that as Unreal 3 was never really a great engine for Linux. Option wise there are 4 different AA settings, Vsync and two other graphics settings. Sadly Alt-Tab doesn’t work. My system while playing the game used between 3.2-5.1GB of system RAM, and between 7-26% of my CPU. There were no manual save options, it was all checkpoint based. Luckily I never lost too much progress if I had to quit but manual saving would have still been preferable. You can pause cut scenes but you can’t skip them. The game used 22.66GB of storage. The game never crashed on me but I did have an issue that happened 3 times where it would say “starting” in Steam when I went to launch the game but it never actually opened. I had to manually kill the process for the game and logout/login to Steam again to get it to run. I noticed no other glitches or issues.

    I played through all 3 episodes and the bonus episode in 11 hours. I paid $20.56 CAD for the deluxe edition and felt it was worth every penny. I would easily pay $49.99 for it. If you enjoy the original Life is Strange, enjoy adventure games that are focused more on story rather than action then give it a go.

    I just finished playing the Bonus Episode and I've been bawling my eyes out since.
    This game has a very special story telling which goes deep under the skin.
    Especially with Ashly Burch returning one last time as the voice of Chloe Price this last bonus episode made the whole game even better.

Gráficos realmente atrasados. No son importantes es un juego de estas características, pero realmente se ven mal. Los modelados de los personajes son muy muy bajos.

    Disfruté el primero bastante (sobretodo el tramo final), pero de este me esperaba más. Me gusta más cualquier juego de Telltale. Merece la pena comprarlo por 5€ aprox, mucho más no...

Персонажи как всегда великолепны, графика пусть и простенькая, но довольно приятная глазу, а музыка... эх... ну я думаю вы уже и сами поняли. Кто-то может сказать, что приквел чутка уступает по накалу страстей оригиналу... Быть может, но всё же этот факт не помешал мне получить массу удовольствия от игры. Мимо таких изумрудов игровой индустрии ни в коем случае не стоит проходить. Крайне рекомендую!

Также посвятили немало времени отношениям в семье и в доме Хлои, все выглядит вполне правдоподобно и без фальши.Местами очень странный графон, много мыла и нечеткой картинке прямо перед носом,увлеченность граффити и очень сомнительная сгибаемость непокорности и изменение характера изза одного человека Рэйчел (опять таки правдоподобно, но в целом есть огрехи), а именно навязывание разработчиками не только тусить, быть практически постоянно в компании Рэй, так еще и отношение (больше чем просто дружба) Нельзя замутить с кем- то другим, парня который втрескался в Хлою вообще для галочки сделали. И ведь нигде не говорится, что хлоя лесбиянка, она скорее бисексуалка, чем просто с одним направлением, но разработчики решили выстроить все в одном направлении. Персонажи порой противоречат сами себе, ведут себя странно (ужин с родителями Рэй и поведение Хлои), очень яркий пример. Пол игры нам рассказывают историю Рэй, ее отношение с семьей, тут еще и мать ей не мать, вот теперь мы детектив и все делаем чтобы встретились две родные кровинушки, но концовка и диалог с матушкой Рэй, настолько мозговыносящий, что я был уверен, что это сон или глюки, так как нас долбанули и мы лежали в отключке. но нет все в заправду. Ну и конечный выбор, где мы можем сказать правду, а можем солгать, скажите, кто выберет ложь, кто ее выберет после того, что нам показали ранее, как ранили эти известия Рэй, что самые родные люди ей лгали и осталась Хлоя, единственная кто еще остался как опора, но солгать, равносилься тому, чтобы приобщится к той стае лугов, в такой правде нет ни смысла, ни чести. И этими поворотами сюжета игра для меня сразу поблекла и потекла как дырявое ведро...    … Expand

    This was supposed to be Chloe's story, how she met Rachel and their relationship and what caused them to separate. What we got was awesome build-up to what looked like a budding same-sex romance, being scuttled by Rachel being injured and the B-plot of Rachel's mom. We don't even get the satisfaction of seeing the corrupt DA face any consequences. The story ends on a meaningless cut scene.

    what starts as an edgy cringe-fest slowly turns into a well-written drama with what I think is the only well written lesbian romance in video game history
    survive the cringe for it is a good game/story

    The first 2 episodes are just great, but the 3rd one seems very sloppy. Still, as a whole Before the Storm works quiet well and it's definitely a must-play for everyone who liked the original Life is Strange for its characters and atmosphere.

    A good script, but really with little news regarding the original delivery.
    Of course, the effort that makes this video game so that you finally get attached to Chloe is worth celebrating.
    The extra episode "Goodbye" is 10.

In Life is Strange she was bit one-dimensional - just a rebel. Here we see her in all her fragility. I didn't think I would sayI dare to say it is even better than original.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. First off: One day after finishing LiS:BtS (I started playing BtS immediately after finishing LiS) I'm still emotionally wrecked and shaken by the two stories, which including the bonus episode in BtS that goes back to the time right before Max left for Boston, took me a total of 34 hours play time. And I'm 58 and have seen my fair share of disaster first-hand.

    So, now for the review. Regarding story, voice acting, motion capture, scenery, map design, details, music score, it is just as perfect as the first game in the series. It is a piece of art.
    This time we go back to when Max was in Boston and had left Chloe behind without ever having contacted her. You should do yourself a favor and play the first game before you start with BtS. It will greatly enhance the joy you'll get from 'Before the Storm' -- after all, it's a prequel and references as well as fills in the details of much of what you learned during the first game.

    +++ WARNING: Minor spoilers mainly for LiS1 ahead +++

    Chloe meets Rachel, the most popular girl at Blackwell Academy, and falls in love with her. Meanwhile, some very bad things happen involving the drug dealers Frank and his boss Demon, Rachel's father, and her biological mother.

    The general tone is the same as it was in LiS: on top of the world, down in the dumps. Once again, your emotions will be challenged to the maximum, perhaps even more so than in LiS -- get yourself a box of Kleenex before you play. I cried even more in this game than in the first one.

    There are some technical issues though which caused me to rate BtS "only" 9/10:
    This game was not developed by DontnoD, the original creators, but by Deck Nine on the Unity engine (LiS was Unreal4). And it shows. Especially in the first episode outside of cut scenes the character animation looks sometimes weird, sometimes outright broken. Some movements look erratic, even glitchy, and the faces look somewhat two-dimensional and 'botoxed', with too little expression. The cut scenes generally have the same quality as the original LiS, so it's easy to live with these shortcomings. They won't spoil your experience or reduce immersion.

    There were some unfortunate changes to the UI. There is no controller support, which is sad, as like DontnoD explicitly said in the opening screens of LiS, it really enhanced the experience of playing LiS. Also, Deck Nine added a feature that occasional appears as a dialogue option: "Word battle", which opens a series of new dialogues where you or your conversation partner can win by reaching the target point first. Except for the first occurrence, where you need to win it to progress, it's completely useless, because it doesn't achieve anything that wouldn't also be an outcome of normal dialogue.

    Also, depending on your dialogue choices, there are some minor continuity errors like telling someone things they already know or you being sent to fetch something you already have. But again, while you will notice those, they don't spoil the experience.

    Additional information: Just a few days ago DontnoD announced that they start working on a succesor to the original LiS, LiS2, which I personally can't await (I suspect the release date will not be announced earlier than at E3 2020). Also, in March 2019, a visual novel will be published that apparently continues from the "good" ending of LiS. So there's something we'll have before LiS3.

    I'm really curious about what will happen in LiS2. Will Max and Chloe openly live as a gay couple? Might well be, because there was a love confession in the "bad" ending of LiS, and in BtS we learn something more around that topic (if you played both endings in LiS, that is). Also, which would make a good bonus episode, I'd like to know what happened in Boston that made Max not getting into contact with Chloe a single time. Did she have a gf (or even bf) there? Did she have troubles causing her to forget about Chloe? Did the separation hurt her so much she just couldn't in order to protect herself from even more pain?

    Conclusion:
    Over all, BtS is a worthy successor of LiS and everyone who enjoyed LiS will also enjoy BtS. In a way, its even more of an emotional challenge than LiS was. At least, I cried even more. So I strongly again advise you to have a box of Kleenex within reach while playing. Have fun!    … Expand

I preordered this because of the trust I placed in the company that made the original - here's the twist: Before the Storm wasn't made by DontNod (the Paris-based devs who brought us the original) but shuttled out by the publisher, Square Enix, to Deck Nine - an obscure company that brought us such blockbuster hits as "Neopets: The Darkest Faerie" and "Ratchet: Deadlocked", both flops on the PS2. In fact, when they got Before the Storm handed to them they hadn't developed anything since 2013.

    Even so, the name "Life is Strange" carries a lot of weight - it's a brand of quality I expected to carry over no matter who the developer is. Characters with depth, surreal and immersive storylines, heart-wrenching plot twists, and cringey-at-times but emotive voice acting are all elements of Life is Strange fans came to know and love.

    Before the Storm has none of that. We follow Chloe with (spoiler alert) no time travel powers like Max had in the first game - which leaves the game feeling void of any gameplay elements to set it apart from other choose-your-own-point-and-click story games. Instead there's a confusing and rarely used "backtalk" element that's as poorly introduced and explained as it is boring to use. The mechanic holds no weight and adds nothing to Chloe's character.

    Otherwise, the game's game mechanics are practically identical to its predecessor, with a few more technical issues probably due to the jump from Unreal Engine to Unity. Graphics look a lot worse - might as well be a PS2 game (and judging by the developer's portfolio, it's no surprise that PS2 graphics were the standard they held themselves to).

    All this could be excused if the story and characters mattered. I spent most of my time in the first couple episodes waiting for something to happen. The most interesting things in this game are tie-ins to the original like meeting characters or visiting locations from the first game, but there's very little point beyond "hey, remember this?" Locations and characters have very little purpose and value to the story.

    What story? Who knows. The plot meanders around aimlessly. Chloe gets in arguments with her parents, spends time at school, meets Rachel Amber who she has a crush on? I guess? It's unclear and heavy handed at the same time. Stilted voice acting doesn't help the process, and while I know some people criticized voice acting in the first game I tend to disagree - the voices and mannerisms felt right at home in Arcadia Bay when DontNod did it. Here, however every time a mouth opens on screen what comes out sounds like it was recorded phoenetically by non-nativespeakers. By the end of the second episode I found myself not caring whether the main character and her squeeze lived or died.

    This game made me feel bad for not killing Chloe at the end of the first one.    … Expand

    It's rare that a prequel truly works, where a story can captivate despite the audience knowing what's coming and where the path will lead. Life Is Strange: Before The Storm is one of those exceptional stories because it draws you in on its own terms. The only problem: You know it's building you up just to break your heart.

    Life indeed is strange. I was dead certain that Before the Storm simply cannot be good, but it turned out just fine. It’s really well-written, with fleshed out characters and some humor here and there. I applaud the writers for ditching science fiction elements, but I wish BtS was as good a thriller as it is a love story. [03/2018, p.58]

    Deck Nine have finished off Life is Strange in sterling fashion. Saying farewell to Arcadia Bay with Before the Storm is sad, but the best farewells usually are.
