    We waited long for LiS2 and the first episode is already great. If I compare the first episodes of LiS1 and LiS2 the one from this title is way better. I really liked Max and Chloe but Sean and Daniel are also very great characters. The story has many different aspects and I personly think that the political aspect of the story is good. Not too much to destroy the story but the politicalWe waited long for LiS2 and the first episode is already great.     All of the reviews come from incomplete play through. It's a fantastic game and the first episode is an essential setup to the rest of the story and understanding it's about how the journey affects the boys relationship.     It made made me cry several times, I have never connected with a charterer as much as I did with Sean and with Daniel as well. As difficult as it is with the lack of a real happy ending it makes the game even more poignant. Play this with your heart and you will get the ending you need but not necessarily the ending the boys deserve. All I can say is hats off to the developers Id love more of this poignant and grounded story in the future of the franchise.    … Expand

    Personally, to my mind this is the perfect sequel that develops the ideas of the previous part, adopts all the advantages, improves them exponentially, and also tries to get rid of the minuses of the original, trying not to introduce new defects. From the first trailer, I prepared a place in my very callous heart for this masterpiece, next to LiS1, a prequel to the original game and aPersonally, to my mind this is the perfect sequel that develops the ideas of the previous part, adopts all the advantages, improves them exponentially, and also tries to get rid of the minuses of the original, trying not to introduce new defects. From the first trailer, I prepared a place in my very callous heart for this masterpiece, next to LiS1, a prequel to the original game and a prequel to the sequel, and I have never been disappointed in the purchase. Even classical works of literature are not always so emotionally strong, catchy, loud and memorable, not to mention games. I regret that I passed this game only because I can not experience the emotions of the same strength as it was during the first passage..

    Ich bin mehr als begeistert , die Story ist richtig gut , ich gebe zu bin sehr nah am Wasser gebaut und das Spiel hat das völlig ausgenutzt , bei Kapitel 2 brauch ich wohl eine Groß Packung Tempos.     Ich kann dieses Spiel mehr als empfehlen , muss sagen finde das erste Kapitel weit aus besser als den ersten teil, aber ich fand schon Captain Spirit besser, was nicht heisst das der erste teil nicht gut war nur dieser hier ist nochmal besser!
    Selbst die neben Figuren wirken Interessant gestaltet ich hoffe man trifft den einen oder anderen wieder in den nächsten Kapiteln.    … Expand

    Don't listen to the guys who are saying this is not Life is Strange, they are stuck in the past.
    Actually before playing LiS 2 i thought this won't get me hooked that much but right after ten minutes, this game just got me !

    A great game, no more, no less. Who complain the presence of political content and talk of objective judgment should stay silent. A similar game have to talk about political content, like the first two game did in their way.

    Sad to see people judging game based on the "wrong side of politics" even though it just brings inhuman behavior into spotlight, it seems for some it is just too much. Overall great game. In some cases hard to have as strong connections to characters as in LiS1, but I was surprised how well they still managed to do so with such a short "on-screen" time with fresh characters.

    Life is Strange 2 is a powerful and compelling experience. I believe that it's a rare video game that tackles mature and difficult themes. Sean and Daniel's relationship is woven into a fine thread through the choices you make, and the outcome left a lasting impression on me like few stories do.

    This game is a masterpiece. It has a fantastic story, with amazing main and side characters, and an awesome soundtrack. The number of people who are unhappy with this just shows how much we need games like this.

    It's been been over 2 weeks after my second playthrough. I cried twice already. Damn this game wreck me so much. If only i knew the game would be this good i would've easily pre-ordered the game. I was hesitate at first since Life is strange didn't hit me that hard, but this game is different than the first life is strange which is good.

    I love story-focused and character-driven games, so I enjoyed Life is Strange 2 a lot. It is different than Life is Strange 1 and Before the Storm due to its design.

    Life is Strange 2 is a road trip game, so you do not spend a lot of time in the same location, which means you do not spend the whole game with the same characters like you do in the first game. This can suck because there    I love story-focused and character-driven games, so I enjoyed Life is Strange 2 a lot. It is different than Life is Strange 1 and Before the Storm due to its design.

    Life is Strange 2 is a road trip game, so you do not spend a lot of time in the same location, which means you do not spend the whole game with the same characters like you do in the first game. This can suck because there are a lot of really cool characters that you do not interact with anymore after a brief encounter.

    Something interesting about this game is that his time, it is not you who has the superpower, but your little brother. This is a road trip game, but it is also a game where you help shape your little brother's morality. and you try to forge the strength of your relationship with him.

    And I know it is very difficult to have true choices with branching options that heavily affect the story, but I am quite pleased with the available choices here. I've noticed small dialogue choices that might not seem like much do add up in the long run. There are in fact many different possible outcomes for different events. They might not heavily impact the story, but they are there and it is still satisfying.

    I started caring a lot about the characters in this game, and I'm sad we didn't get to interact with some of them in future episodes. But I guess this is part of being a "road trip" game, and not playing in one single setting.

    Also, this game includes social commentary. It depicts racism and bigotry against hispanics in a negative light. So naturally, this made the manchildren and the bigots very upset, hence the 0/10 review-bombs. Yeah, racism is bad. Get **** bigots.

    Life is Strange 2 is a good game. Definitely worth at least one playthrough if you are into these story-focused games, and especially if you have played the other games in the series and you liked them.    … Expand

    I really do not understand why do people hate this game, 'cause I really did enjoy it, overall, I am sure it's way more better than LiS Season 1. However, back in 2015, when I've finished LiS 1, I thought it was truly amazing game, and nothing couuld be better than it, but right now, I am sure I was wrong.     I really do not understand why do people hate this game, 'cause I really did enjoy it, overall, I am sure it's way more better than LiS Season 1. However, back in 2015, when I've finished LiS 1, I thought it was truly amazing game, and nothing couuld be better than it, but right now, I am sure I was wrong. LiS 1 is all about teenager's life, teenager sh*t etc., and this story is WAAAAY more mature, where you face more deep problems, not like "damn my friend figured out I know she is pregnant nooo" but a "kill a man for your needs or spare him but face serious problems (not spoiler but an example).
    It is an amazing story with big wariety of endings (wassup lis 1) and it's easy to attach to main characters and start to sympathize to them, feel the world the way they feel it. (It becomes even better after you read majority of the reviews on metacritic :) ) However the story isn't perfect and it has some plotholes, but I can't lower the score more than on 0.5 point. This game takes a big leap from the first part and almostly only in positive way. It adds a lot of new mechanics, such as drawing warious landscapes, collecting souvenirs etc. The description for the items in the inventory also changes every damn episode depending on decisions you made in previous episodes, and that's really impressing. Concluding the story talk, it is way longer that in lis 1, it raises deeper and harder questions, and of course, it has more details and as it is a part of LIFE IS STRANGE franchise, it adds more information to the lore, answers some questions from the previous part, and that's pretty much it. I'd put this game on my shelf of the best stories in videogames history (really close to the witcher 3 or rdr2 (yeah i can compare them since they all have different endings). This really should pay attention on this game, no matter what genres you like, I am sure it will not disappoint you. I hope you did read this review 'till the end, and now I can go to bed, cuz it's 3 a.m. in my country :P

    В целом мне понравилось, не знаю почему многие пишут о не понимании взаимосвязи персонажей, возможно у них нету семьи и им не понятно что такое забота о ком-то кроме себя, в игре раскрыта братская любовь, так же в игре продумали множество концовок, к которым приводит то на сколько хорошо именно ты воспитал своего брата, я не знаю как можно этого не видеть, только если играть с закрытымиВ целом мне понравилось, не знаю почему многие пишут о не понимании взаимосвязи персонажей, возможно у них нету семьи и им не понятно что такое забота о ком-то кроме себя, в игре раскрыта братская любовь, так же в игре продумали множество концовок, к которым приводит то на сколько хорошо именно ты воспитал своего брата, я не знаю как можно этого не видеть, только если играть с закрытыми глазами наверно...… Expand

    Was reluctant to place this and initially never finished the first episode upon its release, now that I have properly given it it's chance, I realized how wrong I was. Its one of my favorite games and narratives ever. Truly mature and heartbreaking and overwhelmingly politically relevant. Also one of the most complex choice based mechanic in any choice based game yet.

    Emotional game with strong characters. Great music, natural dialogue. Really makes you think and view the world from the eyes of someone else..
    On a road trip with the main characters you meet good and bad people and have to make the right calls on who to trust. Main topics are family, racism and living on the road.     Having read most of the negative comments I can say that they either are angry that the popular characters from the first game did not come back or claim that the main characters being victims of racism is "leftist SJW-propaganda", so if you are triggered by the existence of racism you probably should not play this game.    … Expand

    Это очень интересное эмоциональное приключения которое переносит тебя от радости до сопереживания за главных героев. прекрасно в этой игре наверно всё; персонажи, сюжет, саундтрек, визуал с точки зрения красоты и гармонии на экране (немного с графикой проблемы, но скорее всего это такой стиль так что к этому не придираюсь)

The way the older brother treats and brings up the younger one affects the further development of events, the elections are diverse, the image is pleasing to the eye, the game is not drawn out, but not too short, in general, lately I have not seen a betterLife is strange 2 really hooked me with its plot. Every journey, thanks to the atmosphere of the game, I lived with Sean and Daniel.     Good story with enjoyable mechanics. Well optimized. I have played the whole first episode on 4K, 60 fps which not only looks beautiful but also works surprisingly well. (Also, the stereotyping thing that some people are so mad about is exaggerated stuff. There will always be a little    Graphics and designs are great as they've always been in these games.

    I cried at the end of each episode when I first play through the episodes. They had my attention all the way through, but now. Yes, it doesn't have same effect, but doesn't mean that I hate this game. I still find love for this game.

    Как жаль, что такое увлекательное приключение завершилось на такой грустной ноте (я о своей концовке с посадкой Шона). Это, конечно, не первая отличная часть, но все же игра выдалась весьма увлекательной.
    Отдельное спасибо хочется сказать разработчикам за шикарную музыкальную подборку и за техническую часть проекта (никаких багов, отменная оптимизация, приятная глазу графика и анимация).    Как жаль, что такое увлекательное приключение завершилось на такой грустной ноте (я о своей концовке с посадкой Шона).     And I saw only this point; it was a bold red line of each chapter. What did I saw at the end when I chose to go to jail? That old one protected his super (choose) hero/villain brothers through the entire game, and all was about to save his brother protect him even from himself. He gave 15 years for this, and after he saw the same brother who lives happily ever after, he will never come back to this. He lost it. The prison took everything from him for the better future of his brother. And after this, I see the problem with this game. Is that perfect story where one brother sacrificed everything for his young one who, in my opinion, was a little piece of crap, who killed so many people? No, we see white racism, but not the beautiful dramatic story as LIS always does.

    And I'm staying here to think why the racist story forces me to see the so touchable brother novel. I don't know. I feel so tricky. So, through all that I did in this game, now I see the story of friendship, brotherhoods, and helping hands as in the best King books.

    Spoiler! I walked through the LIS one. After a month, I occasionally saw that I could save the girl on the roof and was in shock. I felt that it's real. It was so emotional that I couldn't think anything through the day. That is was a masterpiece! The Sean crying was a masterpiece too. This is the only reason I gave it 8.

После того, как прошел, могу сказать следующее:

    - никакого засилья пропаганды в этой игре нет, все истерики на этот счет опираются на пару мимолетных эпизодов, которые размываются в общей истории и не являются сколько-нибудь узловыми для сюжета.
    - из лгбт темы тут есть одна развилка в середине игры, на которую можно не только не соглашаться, но и которую вам вообще не покажут, если вы до этого не совершите определенный выбор. Плюс флаг радужных цветов на трейлере в последнем эпизоде и короткий разговор с гей-парой.
    - присутствует клишированность некоторых персонажей, особенно отрицательных (но и положительных тоже), однако жанр дорожного приключения сам собой предполагает встречу с разными людьми - плохими и хорошими, именно так и будет в жизни на самом деле.

    В целом игра хорошо сделана, с приятной графикой, своей особенной атмосферой, сюжет годный, а различные концовки определяются вашими выборами по ходу всей игры - это именно то, чего многим не хватило в первой игре.

    Теперь о минусах:

    - Макс и Хлоя из первой части были очень запоминающимися, каждая со всоим характером, своими тараканами, своими взглядами на мир. Братья Диаз в этом плане невнятны, полное отсутствие харизмы.
    - Пропала атмосфера загадочности, предвкушения, тайны, чуда, которая есть в первой игре, отчего LIS2 воспринимается куда хуже, как средней руки драма на просторах юго-запада США.
    - музыка, привносившая особую атмосферу в первую игру, здесь просто никакущая.
    - бедный, опять-таки по сравнению с первой игрой, геймплей. По сути мы только читаем описания предметов, ходим и совершаем выборы в диалогах/действиях. И все. Сверхъестественная сила не у персонажа, которым мы управляем, а у его брата. Да и сама она не очень интересная. Это сильно подрывает интерес к игровому процессу. Справедливости ради, второй LIS ощущается масштабнее первого из-за разнообразия и широты локаций, а также раскинувшегося на несколько штатов повествования.
    - Драматический накал гораздо ниже, чем в первой части, хотя есть пара концовок, чувство горечи после которых сопоставимо с тем, что многие чувствовали в результате финала первой части.

    Итог: игра заслуживает внимания и прохождения, сделано качественно, многое усовершенствовали, но сам сюжет и геймплей не вытянули до планки, заданной первой частью. В итоге впечатления после нее двойственные.    … Expand

Но со временем вы втянетесь в игру и начнете переживать за главных героев которых жизнь потрепала не совсем по их вине. После несчастного инцидента вам передстоит не только    Игра заслуживает внимания!

    One of my favourite games 2020. I really got involved in the story and the bond between Sean and Daniel. Even after the ending I thought about what I could have done better to get a better ending.

    It's a very good game. It's inclusive, it talks about important stuff. Hearing everyone complaining about "political nonsense" makes me wonder why the game cannot be a political statement. If that's the message that the creators wanted to share, good for them, it's their right to do it.     O game TEM as raízes da saga inclusive acredito que avanços, acho que no segundo game as escolhas tem impactos mais indiretos e inesperados e no primeiro game as consequências das escolhas são mais indiretas e variáveis, mais imperceptíveis, sorrateiras, deslizantes, silenciosas, ardilosas. Acho que aqui no brasil deveria valer uns 10 ou 15 reais a menos.

    With the exception of the 4th episode, this journey is amazing. A lot of learning about maturity, consequences, racism, family, opportunities, and judicial power. The game also talks about religion, and even agreeing about what it had to say, I felt it was kind of artificial, just to justify some plot holes. Fortunately, that's a minor part of this    This game hits hard in the end.

    Empezando por la historia, tiene un inicio no malo, muuy malo resaltando todos los puntos flojos, haciendo que los primeros 30-40 minutos de gameplay sean super aburridos, hasta que empieza lo divertido y ahi si se convierte en una historia super entretenida, atrapante y con ganas de saber mas.     Empezando por la historia, tiene un inicio no malo, muuy malo resaltando todos los puntos flojos, haciendo que los primeros 30-40 minutos de gameplay sean super aburridos, hasta que empieza lo divertido y ahi si se convierte en una historia super entretenida, atrapante y con ganas de saber mas. Los personajes son muy simpaticos, tantos los primarios como los secundarios. Aviso que no es una secuela, es una historia completamente diferente aunque se relaciona indirectamente con la primera entrega, ya que al iniciar el juego, te pregunta sobre que decision tomaste al final del primer juego, y en base a eso, apareceran algunos personajes u ocurriran algunas cosas.

    El gameplay es el mismo que el de la primera entrega tomando decisiones. A lo largo del juego, se encuentran en los escenarios algunas referencias a otros juegos que me parecio un detalle muy muy bonito.

    Pasando a las cosas malas, lamentablemente arrastraron un error del primer juego que son los gestos faciales, que realmente parecen robots al igual que los movimientos de los personajes, Una pena. Ademas encontre algunos bugs visuales pero que no afectan a la experiencia de juego.    … Expand

    Die Geschichte hat sich für mich ziemlich langsam aufgebaut, ich bin mit den Beiden erst nicht warm geworden. Erst wurde mir Max & Chloe entrissen und dann direkt Layla.
    In Episode 2 war es dann schon ziemlich cool als Außenstehender eine andere Perspektive auf Captain Spirit und sein Leben mit seinem Vater zu haben und ab hier waren die Entscheidungen auch wieder genial.

    Episode 4 empfand ich als sehr kurz, aber ich hätte nicht damit gerechnet das man diesen Charakter trifft, hat mich gefreut, was ich aber schrecklich fand, war dass Daniel so gegen Sean war, an dieser Stelle hät ich echt Ausrasten können, wie oft muss man jemandem etwas sagen, erklären und oder beweisen?
    Episode 5 war am aller besten, das Spiel hat sich bis zum Höhepunkt aufgebaut, es begann nach der Rückker von K & D vom wöchentlichen Einkauf, ich habe D nicht erkannt, erst nach einem ganz bestimmten Wort, welches ich damals auch aus den drei Optionen ausgewählt hatte und einmal fest verwendet wurde, dann hat es direkt Klick gemacht und es war genial, Spannungsbogen überspannt und 80 Mal gerissen!
    Ich habe seinen Wohnwagen komplett untersucht und bin sehr froh drüber, ich habe später noch dem kompletten Telefonat gelauscht, wunderschön, ich bin froh darüber. Ich sollte zwar selber drüber hinwegkommen und genau wie sie nicht zurückblicken aber es ist schwer, doch die Zeit heilt alle Wunden.
    Und dann kam das Finale, es war großartig. BOOM BANG KNALL, geile Sequenz, sehr zufriedenstellendes Ende!

    Anbei nochmal meine Bitte, wenn DONTNOD es nicht machen möchte, dann bitte DECKNINE:
    Ich dachte es geht in Life is Strange 2 mit Max & Chloe weiter, da gibt es doch noch so viel zu erzählen!
    Bitte führt es fort! Man könnte die an der Abfahrt aus Arcadia Bay anknüpfen, ein Abenteuer auf dem Weg nach LA auf dem sie alle Fotos und Kameras zerstören, das war mein erster Einfall, lasst euch bitte etwas besseres einfallen, DONTNOD. #LifeisStrange3

    The first 2 chapters are just boring as hell and nothing really happens. It got better in chapters 3-5 fortunately and I actually got emotionally invested in the end. However, the story is overall too weak and it's nowhere close to Life is Strange 1.

The first one was such an astonishing ride because it didn`t push a political agenda into the gamers eyes but instead focused on real life experiences and showed Max`s life choices. It just told its story and didn`t try to be much more than that. I got what they were trying to do. Police brutality, cults and racism are actual and important issues in the modern world and especially in the USA, but the game went too far with its agenda. I would have prefered to see a much more grounded story without too much political ideas. With that said I would only recommend this game to fans who don`t get bothered by politics in games.… Expand

    unfortunately dontnod did the same mistake that telltale did.giving too many characters that you will don't care about them anymore,they got far away from the main story in the game,if you only play the first and last episode believe me you wont miss anything from the main story and will fully understand it. i kinda feel like they only wanted to use life is strange's name for its popularity.

As a person who has always been a big fan of the franchise, I believe it is interesting to make a valid analysis of the reasons why my opinion about this game end up being a little bit mixed. It is important to emphasize that I'm here considering the complete season, which means I played all episodes 1-5.
    - Narrative: Maybe that's the point that bordered me the most.    Ok, where to start... As a person who has always been a big fan of the franchise, I believe it is interesting to make a valid analysis of the reasons why my opinion about this game end up being a little bit mixed. It is important to emphasize that I'm here considering the complete season, which means I played all episodes 1-5.
    - Narrative: Maybe that's the point that bordered me the most. Life is Strange 2 lacks an element that's exactly the strongest point of your predecessors: Depth. Don't take me wrong, the story keeps addressing polemic topics that are actual world issue of our society however; the relation players develop with the characters end up being less intense here. That happens, mainly, because the dynamics of the game introduces a storyline where almost none of the characters seen on an episode show up again on the next one. It can be annoying the way people just seem to disappear through the narrative making most of them just another road acquaintance of which you feel knowing very little. And that does not happen only with the characters, the places are also less emotionally remarkable and can be synthesized as beautiful landscapes you see for 20 minutes and soon have to go away. Although this "life on the road" feeling feats well with the game context the way how it was developed ends up compromising the proximity relationship between the player and the established universe. There were a lot of moments that I felt more touched by Easter eggs of the first game than on supposedly dramatic moments of the sequence. Even on Captain Spirit, you can feel a stronger presence of sentimental and emotional sensitive moments. When it comes to the possible ending, the game can be separated on 4 "main" outcomes with other 3 more "minors" variants inside those four. I think we can say all of them are "ok" and, somehow, can even be considered less "cannon" than the ones on Life is Strange 1.
    - Gameplay: The mechanics, in general, is pretty similar to the first game however; playing without the powers CAN BE LESS INTERESTING. The thing about controlling a "normal" character has already been discussed on Life is Strange: Before the Storm but because the public was already so involved with the whole universe it ended up being more "forgettable", a benefit we don't have here. As interesting as seeing how your actions can "affect" the behavior of your young brother, and that is an actual NICE addition to the gameplay, there are times where you will do everything to convince Daniel to do a certain action and he will simply act like a spoiled kid. Daniel IS A KID and he is expected to act as such however; sometimes it just begins to feel more frustrating and boring than it should and you start to feel more like in a babysitter simulator. It's a FACT: playing without powers can turn the gameplay into something less enjoyable.
    - Graphics, Scenario and Sound Track: Here is one of the few points where the game shows a NOTABLE EVOLUTION compared with the first season. The art style is preserved but everything seems to be more polished. The scenarios are astonishing and you just want to have a camera to capture the moment. By the way, the new collectibles include drawings you make with Sean, which are also a super nice addition that feats well the character's personality. About the soundtrack, like in all the other games of the franchise, this one remains as a strong positive point. The highlight here would maybe be an absence of remarkable songs in the last episode, especially in the final scenes. About the production, in general, I can't complain, so green mark.
    At the end of the day, the game comes with a very different proposal and, for most of the public, DO NOT expect to experience it with the same intensity as the first season. Of course, different narratives have a different impact on different people, however; the minimum expected from a game that carries the same title is some patter and coherence of experience, otherwise, you have to give up some identity core aspects. By showing a pro immigration message they ignored that neither Mexico nor USA are law-free. The latter may have a in part stupid judicial system, but definitely not us stupid as they tried to show us here (says a European).

    I like the art style, and the soundtrack, though one can argue it was better in the first part. Because the game is a road-trip through it's five parts, you are not able to connect to side characters as you were able to in the first part of the franchise.

    As a fan of the first part you should give it a try. But you may be disappointed at the end.    … Expand

Especialmente si tenemos en cuenta lo dicho antes sobre encuentros fugaces, el resultado es que en realidad, la historia no tiene demasiado que ver con tus decisiones, o esa es la sensación que da, sino con la historia que quieren contar. Como ejemplo, puedes jugarte gratis Captain Spirit, el propio juego te lo recomienda cuando llega el momento, pero la mayor parte de las decisiones tomadas en ese capitulo importan poco en la historia del 2, y es un personaje que en realidad ni siquiera importa demasiado, limitando mucho el interés del mismo.

    A nivel gráfico el juego es agradable, con una estética muy en línea con lo visto en Life is Strange 1 y Before the Storm. El sonido cumple bien, especialmente la música, aunque las voces (al menos en inglés) no siempre me convencieron. Y hay que reconocer que, al menos en mi experiencia, es un juego carente de bugs, algo no frecuente ultimamente.

    The game itself has a boring and non-inspiring story with many plotholes. It doesn't even make sense in general from beginning to the end if you think about it. I think it's partially due to the fact that the concept of kid with a Jedi/Super Saiyan powers is not as interesting and doesn't give as much source material to work with as time-reversing. I often found myself getting bored by too much unneccesary and cliche dialogue, and just wanted to push the story forwards faster.

    There are only a few remotely interesting characters, unfortunately main characters aren't one of them. The characters behavior and decisions are totally dumb and irrational in many parts throughout the game. You don't care about or get attached to any character really.

    Graphics are okay I guess. Not bad but not really good either. 6/10.

    Music. I didn't like it very much, even though the style is similar to Life is Strange 1. There were no songs that stayed in my head, while I remember many songs from LiS 1 or Before the Storm to this day.

    I can't really recommend this game. It is a major letdown after LiS 1. LiS 1 was one of the best and most memorable games of my life, while LiS 2 is just...crap. Even Before The Storm is literally MILES better than this game. There is no contest.

Which is even more infuriating with the game severe lack of nuance and subtility the game will always force you to choose between 2 extreme of the same solution something like "explode in rage" and "be extremely ungrateful and disrespectful" which will for all intent and purposes will have the same result. And when you couple that with the fact that the game make act the characters stupidly and think you're too drunk to notice it becomes just borderline insulting.
    The gameplay is weak, but in another game like this I wouldn't even mention it because it should be carried by its writing...

    Exploring the forest and a couple of other locations and taking care of your brother is not my idea of LIS game. If I wanted to raise a child I'd play "Princess Maker". The plot leaves a lot to be desired and makes me raise my eyebrows at how unrealistic some character behavior is, I can't relate to such characters. That whole idea of being on the run isn't exciting at all. The story isn't working for me. The game feels boring and fails to make me feel emotional and connected.

    Some positive notes: the soundtrack is awesome as always in this franchise, the voice acting is very good as well.

    I bought only the first episode. Will I come back for more? I don't think so. It didn't even have a cliffhanger! I can't believe that even "Before the Storm" made by a different studio was so much better than this... I played LIS1 twice and loved it even more the second time, while LIS2 is a massive disappointment for me.

    P.S. Way too much swearing, slang, weed, booze, smoking, sex references. All that leaves pretty bad taste in my mouth. Are most teenagers in America really like that? Not to mention that it's a pretty bad influence and example for the audience.    … Expand

Having a Mexican family as a center-stage is also a great idea. However, when there is no nuance or subtlety in your presentation, it feels forced. In this game, it is forced to the extreme.

    Everything is not and does not have to be political. The authors of this propaganda should really look themselves in the mirror and ask, "I am really so much better than everyone else". I bet majority of developers of this game were white, and probably white men. Most came from middle-class or higher background. Unfortunately, they have been taught to loathe themselves because of their skin color and perceived privileged. This group-based identity is over-riding their ability to treat people as individuals. I have to say that I am not American, but I am getting really sick and tired of regressive leftist politics pushed by entertainment industry and media there.     So cons:

    - Game's atmosphere is downright MISERABLE.

    - You spend your time babysitting your younger brother (again, such fun!)

    - You're on the run and you're stealing food or dumpster diving or talking to people who treat you with contempt. Again, this is totally why I buy video games, I'm a masochist.

    - There's no sense of mystery or escape or world building like in LIS. Game has no LIS soul. It has no soul whatsoever actually!

    - World in LIS2 is a hiking trail, the woods, and some bully's cabin. Wait, what worldbuiling are we talking about?

    - Politically charged narrative. Whether you're left-wing, right-wing, centrist, are you really buying games to spend your precious free time in ugly and miserable worlds where you're on the run and being treated like a criminal by ugly people in the middle of nowhere? Wait, so I'm buying a game for THAT? Why not just go on Twitter?

    - Feels are indeed forced. When you're scared or on the run or thinking about stealing, it's very hard to connect to positive emotions of nostalgia, warmth or serenity. When you're scared and miserable and dumpster diving, there's THAT and nothing else. You can't have your cake and eat it, too.

    And FYI, I felt exactly the same thing when playing Detroit: Become Human so this is not tied to politics and being a good or a bad person or who you're voting or not voting for.

    Playing as Kara, ALL you do is take care of Alice, avoid miserable situations, hide from people who want to hurt you, and see the very worst of human kind.

    Pros:
    -Graphics are awesome, fits the game really well.
    -Music is good as well.
    -The world overall is better than it was in the first game.

    Cons (going to talk about all of them below in more detail)
    -Weak Story
    -The character we play is not the main character of the story.
    -No controllable special ability for the players.
    -None of the characters were interesting or likeable or relatable , because nothing in the story is
    interesting or likeable or relatable. The character we play is the worst. There are choices that made without the player, and he makes the most irrealistic, stupid choices ever. By the end of the story he will either get himself killed or goes to jail. His decision making is worse than Chloes, which is not an easy task but the writers managed to do it. But at least Chloe was a likeable rebelling teenager. Sean is just stupid.

    So... Why is the story weak? For multiple reasons. First of all, its forced on us, and the first major decision made it very obvious that all the choice in this game are going to be illusions of choice.

    Examples:
    -Dad gets shot no matter what you choose.
    -There is no option to stay or run away, its forced on us to run away.
    -Our character gets kidnapped no matter what we choose. There we don't even have a choice to explain properly that we didn't stole anything, the only choice we have is to try to go away as soon as possible which makes our character look bad.

    There is one thing in common with these choices: Racism. Racism thats also forced into the story and makes it much worse than it would've been originally. Its like rewriting the first Life is Strange where everyone around Max and Chloe are sexist and we have to listen to sexist remarks through 5 episodes.
    The dad gets shot because the cop is a scared racist, the kids got bullied on multiple occasion in the episode because everyone apparently are racist in this story, Sean gets kidnapped because the old man is a racist...

    So, there comes the second and the third con together. Our character is not the main character of the story (which already made it worse), its Daniel. Daniel, who also got the special ability. A special abiltiy that the player can't control like we did it with Max, which made awesome puzzles for the game possible. Our character is just a side character who is there to help Daniel get through his story. We can only control Daniel's power through cutscenes where our side character make the main character calm down.

    The first game brought up these things: Corruption, drog abuse, psycho teacher, friendship, time travel, choices that were meaningful enough to save a person's life in the story.

    The second game bring up this thing: Racism. That's it. All the things thats happening to our side character is because of racism. The bully kid was racist, that's why we knocked him out, the cop was racist thats why he was afraid of two mexican kids and that's why he shot the father for no good reason.We had to run away because all the other cops who arrived are assumably racist as well and we would've been accused of killing the cop (which is not wrong by the way, just not the way they think). The old man at the gas station is racist thats why we get tied up even if we don't steal anything,

    They just proved with this game that not continuing the story of Max and Chloe was a mistake. Majority of the people cared about them and we don't care about Daniel and Sean, and no, its not going to change if the first episode couldn't change our mind, because most of us are most likely not even going to buy the second episode. This game should be cancelled and make a game about the story of Max and Chloe as i said above.    … Expand

    The games story is bland and boring, doesn't draw you in, thereby doesn't make you care about the characters as you cannot relate to them in any way... Will say though, everything that happens before the uhm... accident. Daniel (little brother) is litterally the most irritating person I've ever seen in any game. Facial expressions? Never heard of. Body language is absent. Maybe the worst part is claiming inclusivity and stuff and sending kids with Mexican origin to the marijuana farm for work. It is the most racist thing they could do, especially after the redneck scene where they pointed out to all these stereotypes.

    Why? A proper sequel could have been made with integrity, Chloe's story in it you could sidestep by having the player be Max, a little older in Seattle. Why not a story of her working for the FBI helping them to crack cases. Even I can come up with a decent synopsis that would have worked.

    Imagine the FBI are trying to find a serial killer, they send Max back into the past to find out who the killer is, but she gets personally involved with the victims (already dead in the future) and breaks the 4th wall. She was meant to witness from a distance, but ends up feeling compelled to save a victim, and now she is in danger.

    If she goes back to the future, her new found friend will die, can she alter the course of history for the good of all?

    There Dontnod, I did it for you, get on it, no need to thank me.

    LiS2 is for the franchise, Alien3 was to the films, a complete and utter failure, bad writing (lazy writing) and get my score of a whopping 0 (zero) sad thing is, these "woke" liberal game devs won't change, they will regurgitate a bias, and sadly, the LiS franchise is doomed.

    LiS (the original) didn't sway in a partisan way left or right, it didn't try and force an ideal or bias, even if you had your own political opinion, you were allowed to explore the world where there was none. (politics) we play game to get away from all that crap, let's face it, bi-partisan politics is in your face every day, 24/7. LiS was a world where you could leave that behind and experience something different, something beautiful in it's sincere humanity. BtS was the same, no politics (round of applause for Deck9) Whoever came up that going down this path was a good idea needs firing.

    Life Is Strange 2 is a game where you have no abilities and your entire mission is to escort a telekenetic 9 year old across the country. Game mechanics include holding LT to look for the 9 year old, and pressing B to call to him so he doesn't get lost. That's about it.

    Of course, graphic adventure games aren't about the gameplay, they're moreso about the storytelling. And that's where Life Is Strange 2 fails miserably. The characters are downright unlikable. The older brother in the game makes the most irresponsible decision he possibly can by running from the police and trying to cross the border to Mexico. What's the point of the other "choose your own adventure" options if you can't even choose to not go down this route? It's like if Max and Chloe had decided to destroy Arcadia Bay from the beginning before the game even started. What does it matter if you choose to steal a candy bar or not, if you have no choice in making the worst decision of the character's life?

    Unfortunately the entire game is built upon this failed story plot. Since the older brother is running to Mexico, the game is one giant escort quest. Since it's an escort quest, there are mechanics built around escorting the younger brother. And since you are the supporting character, you have no special abilities, instead it's the younger brother with the super powers that you can't make use of. The rest of the game cannot make up for the shortcomings.

    On a technical note, the graphics are upgraded and look quite nice - but they come with a caveat. Every single time there's a cutscene where the characters talk to each other, the framerate drops to 30-40 fps, and this happens A LOT. My PC has an overclocked GTX 1070 and an overclocked i7-4770k and I'm only playing at 1080p, but it's not enough to get this game to play at a locked 60 fps. Heavy handed political crap (pushed on us from people across the pond, no less), cliche characters, lazy writing, none of the "feels" are earned but forced on you, characters make no sense in choices / actions and buggy. There's no way this deserves a high score by any objective measurement

    Instead of a great, engaging and lovingly told story you are bombarded with political messages all the time (which I agree with, but that is not the point). Where Life is Strange drew it strength from subtlety to make you think this here offers nothing in comparison - you get told what is correct.

    Apart from the politics the characters are weak, the voice acting is sub par and not even the music can compare to the first season - it is a shame when a previous title in the series completely destroys the facial animations and lip sync in this one.

    The plot is you wandering around with your brother (not really a spoiler since that happens after 20 minutes) with forced interactions and "on the nose" tests on morality. I find it hard to believe that this is actually the same team that created Life is Strange - the story quality in this one is so far below the first one that it hurts. This is enforced by that not only the whole triggering event but also almost every single decision taken by the characters is stupid beyond belief and can´t be explained just by their age.

    Speaking of decisions, none here matter at all - I can live with narratives not branching wildly. But when I have the option to walk away from a fight and I choose to just leading to me being insulted again and then starting the fight away its just lazy. This is basically true for every major decision offered - there is not even a slight variation.

    The game also fails horribly at trying to be political propaganda with many logical gaps.
    The plot is boring and feels too railroaded. What little choices are left to the player have consequences that often make poor sense, giving a persistent sense of frustration. Topics are delivered in quite an heavy handed way and many plot holes are never covered.

    A large portion of the game consists of cutscenes and tons of meaningless dialogs combined with boring gameplay.

    I honestly do not think I have ever been more disappointed in a video game before. I really wish I could rewind the time and get my money back...
    This game should be renamed to "Don't Buy Me"

    The original "Life is Strange 1" and "Life is Strange: Before the Storm" were great games with decent amounts of content and gameplay which brought you into the game world and left you invested into the characters.

    Diaz brothers undoubtedly have their charm, but they can’t compete with Chloe and Max. Let’s hope that next time developers will focus on actual story rather than current political agenda. [Issue#243, p.50]

    Instead of trying to improve on the first “season”, Life Is Strange 2 starts from scratch. Unfortunately, glaring plot holes, shallow supporting characters and weak attempts at gameplay make this journey worse than it could be. Still, if you make it to the end, it is almost worth it.

    The fifth and final chapter of Life is Strange 2 lets us say goodbye to the story of Sean and Daniel. Even though it has flaws and the ending is not as powerful as we wished, it's still an interesting story to live, with wonderful characters and important themes like racism and the liberty to be who we are.
