  1. Though simple, Lethis comes across as modern and thoughtful, not chained to nostalgia. I’ve enjoyed my time with it for the most part, but I’m ready to part company with it now: I feel I’ve seen everything and any revisit would simply be repetition. I’d love to see its art approach applied to something a little more organic, though.

If the game had taken a bigger influence from the old Sierra City-Building series (Caesar, Pharaoh, Zeus and Emperor), and let you progress from a pre-industrial, maybe even pre-historical society to the invention of steam-power and the subsequent pinnacle of technology, the game might have felt more rewarding.

If given the choice between the two, I'd recommend Emperor: Rise of the Middle Kingdom over this. Despite that, however, the game is still fun and entertaining, and I'd definitively recommend the game to fans of the genre.
