great game, could've been even more if the dudes had enough money. But that's alot to ask for in those times.

Even now makes a mockery out of Darksiders

very good adventure with great lore, puzzles, epic music/sounds and a not to easy combat system - but its fine, everyone who loves adventures - it is a must have!

It's a really bad console port... Sound is very buggy too...

Despite being a bad port, the gameplay isn't that good either... bad controls... The combat against monsters is kinda silly... the music may sound good by the first look, but at some time it will get repetitive and boring.

The good thing about this game it is its story, puzzle solving and exploration for secret stuff...

Super boring game that has loading problems, flicking screen and may not even come up and makes your PC go crazy. Moreover, it's way too cryptic. I didn't understand what I was doing half of the time and gave up real fast though because the gameplay was way too unimaginable and I was simply not having fun. It's a shame. (Steam version)

An adventure like we don't have anymore and one of the games of my life!

With a story that make us think that is running around treason and vengeance in a decrepit world doomed by the consequence of its tyrannical ruler choices, Soul Reaver is a game that use cleverly its limitations to make it last in an enjoyable way.

The world isn't so big, but you can't just go from start to the end without explore it whole (or almost whole); going here and there more than one time, defeating enemies and solving puzzles to pass through sections that was impossible before, or just trying to find some extra glyph to improve your fight against the monsters behind the next door.

Truth be told: even back in its days the models are squared, the moves not even a bit smooth, textures can be blurry, but despite this and putting aside the nostalgic feel, the game is a great adventure compensate by the strong story it tells and the apocalyptic grim environment magistrally orchestrated with one of the best ost in video game history.

Unfortunately the game left us with the taste that it's incomplete (and it is...), but since it received two direct sequels completing its history arch, this can be soften - even "Soul Reaver 2" don't being so great than the first one and "Legacy of Kain: Defiance" having an open ending that can frustrate some.

I played this game as a child, so it was a scary experience for me :)
Very good story at the time, with atmospheric world.

Fun and quite addictive. But really hard to find all secrets without going back and forth. Combat mechanics could be better. Otherwise, fun classic!

A good port of the PlayStation masterpiece.

Textures, texture warping and draw distance have been improved, although not that much changes from the base.
While textures are slightly less compressed those of the Dreamcast version, the Dreamcast version is a much better port. 60FPS most of the time, and improved models.
