Apr 23, 2026Kumitantei: Old-School Slaughter is a take on the Danganronpa death game style of Visual Novel, with a twist. Use your evidence and arguments to find the killers that arise in the style of Ace Attorney. The art and sound design are masterful and add a lot to the experience.

Apr 24, 2026Kumitantei: Old-School Slaughter - Episode 1 brings renewed interest to the death game formula, between more openly questioning the meritocratic philosophy of the Danganronpa world and boasting a cohesive cast, very well-positioned for chaos (or apathy, as their captors would have it). This is a project worth following to its eventual conclusion.

Apr 23, 2026For better or worse, Kumitantei: Old-School Slaughter Episode 1 wears its Danganronpa inspiration on its sleeve, which is a great thing for someone like me who loves that sort of story and gameplay. Despite some flaws and a lack of tutorial, it’s a fun murder mystery with odd-yet-likeable characters and intriguing hints for what the future will hold.

Apr 28, 2026Kumitantei: Old-School Slaughter Episode One delivers a gripping start to its episodic killing game, blending a compelling cast, strong mystery writing, and a distinct 80s-inspired atmosphere with experimental gameplay systems. While its narrative hooks and character dynamics shine, especially for fans of Danganronpa-style experiences, some mechanics like the card-based debates feel underdeveloped and occasionally frustrating. Even so, the first episode lays a promising foundation with intriguing worldbuilding, clever twists, and replay value through its bonding system, making it a standout indie entry in the genre.
