    This game is actually a ton of fun. The gameplay is engaging and every match is all encompassing. I have to leave this a horrible review though, because it hides the exit button in a "More..." option. You aren't clever devs. If I want to quit and the last I think is "this is so exasperating to quit I may as well alt+F4" the last feeling you've left me with is rage. Screw your idiotic menu.

    I played the beta-Testversion and hyped myself extremly. But after one month the hype was gone... The game is not bad but the fact that they only added one new map in over one month is sad. The next thing is i was pretty sure this game will be free with a battle-pass, because there was till one second before the Blockparty no price...     Knockout city is a competitive 3v3 or 1v1 dodgeball game, and first things first.. I love how much customizable options you have for a competitive hero game.. you can craft your own and unlock new cosmetics as you play.. it isn’t super detailed, but the amount of choices is appreciated.. Where the game is lacking though is in its actually    Knockout City

    Where the game is lacking though is in its actually gameplay content..
    I love knockout city.. I am a sucker for dodgeball games.. at first you hve a typical 3v3 mode, youre put into a random map, and youre given a random special ball each time,,, annnd it’s the first team to score 10 knockouts 2 times wins, you run, automatically grab a ball, and youre off, holding down the trigger to target and smack your opponent to knock them out, but it isn’t all that simple.. there is a bit of skill and strategy to be had here as youre able to tackle eachother and knock the ball out of their hands, or make them defenseless for your teammate to hit them, as you are bale to catch a ball and lob it back.. timing this right can make for really great moments, I was having an absolute blast working my way up to rank 5 and unlock the other 3 modes, a 3 v 3 party mode where every ball is a special ball, a 1 vs 1 mode with a circle closing in on you where there are no special alls, and a kill confirmed type 3v3 where you grab diamonds of fallen opponents to tiher score for your team and stop the other team from scoring…
    Kncokout Citys biggest downfall though is that it has a free to play mentality without being free to play..
    Theyre expected to add more content with as seasons go on, but the 5 maps we get now get boring fairly quickly… I was over this game after about maybe only 3 hours of play time…
    on top of that I feel like we need at least a 5 v 5 in a larger world, with more ball drops… too often I found myself just searching for a ball to go help out my teammates…
    Overall I had a really great time with knockout city, this game can be a blast..
    I would jsu hold off for future seasons when this game gets more padded out…

    Knockout City, at the surface level, seems like a pretty fun game. What lies beneath the surface, though? Nothing. It's very shallow, the mechanics are basic, and there isn't much enjoyment to be had past a few matches. I won every match I was in, and after about 5 matches, I can safely say this game requires no skill to win, and the skill ceiling is very low.     Knockout City it's a game full of personality and let you make a lot of fun. I never experienced something like this. So the high score is mainly for this. It lacks a bit of some map, but I'm confident that EA will deliver new contents very soon.

    I personally loved it, thought it was really creative and character art was avant-garde sorta. The team based gameplay is amazing so if you're looking to play with friends look no further. Definitely a fun game to mess around with.

    O jogo é muito bom, utiliza o modo competitivo 3v3 em um jogo de queimada, muito bom para jogar em equipe inclusive. Como o jogo começou agora, tenho expectativas de melhoras e de valores mais justos, pois ele não vale a quantia de 100 reais. Dei essa nota baixa devido ao grande nível de bugs, como ausência de um jogador na partida, problemas para conectar ao servidor em partida e tudoO jogo é muito bom, utiliza o modo competitivo 3v3 em um jogo de queimada, muito bom para jogar em equipe inclusive. Como o jogo começou agora, tenho expectativas de melhoras e de valores mais justos, pois ele não vale a quantia de 100 reais. Dei essa nota baixa devido ao grande nível de bugs, como ausência de um jogador na partida, problemas para conectar ao servidor em partida e tudo isso por um preço alto. Venho pedir para que a empresa tenha noção de que o jogo está em um funcionamento decadente, por mais que ele seja bom. Seu funcionamento é um tanto duvidoso, tenho medo de que um dia não tenha ninguém para jogar, porque isso realmente pode acontecer.… Expand

    Flavor of the month game incoming: 6 million Youtube views in the past week, overwhelmingly positive reviews on storefronts, positive reviews coming in at an average of about 5-7 hours of gameplay (and there's maybe one genuine positive review on this page as I write this). Unfortunately due to the rather shallow mechanics, asinine rules regarding team balance, and open advertisement ofFlavor of the month game incoming: 6 million Youtube views in the past week, overwhelmingly positive reviews on storefronts, positive reviews coming in at an average of about 5-7 hours of gameplay (and there's maybe one genuine positive review on this page as I write this). Unfortunately due to the rather shallow mechanics, asinine rules regarding team balance, and open advertisement of "loot" and "epic outfits" at the top of the game's store pages everywhere, it's rather obvious that the game is another stale chip to serve up monetization on; a financial, if not mechanical, improvement over "Rocket Arena." Very few people will be playing this regularly by Christmas.

    Shout out to whoever downrated this review: in June 2021 this game had 1/10 the average player base that it had in May 2021 when it released. Gosh, who could have seen that coming?

    Knockout City is a fun arcade game. If you look at past it being an arcade game, you are of course going to be frustrated and not find it fun. It's a light-hearted game about gangs in a city that fight turf wars via 'Dodgebrawl'.

    There is enough given in the training session to get new players up to speed quickly. The low skill-ceiling is inviting but goes into greater depths the more    Knockout City is a fun arcade game. If you look at past it being an arcade game, you are of course going to be frustrated and not find it fun. It's a light-hearted game about gangs in a city that fight turf wars via 'Dodgebrawl'.

    There is enough given in the training session to get new players up to speed quickly. The low skill-ceiling is inviting but goes into greater depths the more you play with friends. You soon learn how to chain combos, passes, specials, and the different types of throws. Surprisingly, a fun time even with random players (when they don't AFK/leave).

    With all that being said, I do think it's a bit overpriced for the content it offers. Maybe if it was $15 or even $10 it probably would be selling a lot better. The in-game store is definitely an EA trademark but you can safely ignore it if you choose to. I give the game a solid 8/10, I believe there is a ton of potential for the game and excited to see how Velan Studios continues its development with new content (that hopefully isn't just cosmetics).    … Expand

    So much fun. Easy to pick up. Innovative multiplayer gameplay. Extremely satisfying and enjoyable.

    This game could be so much. It's entertaining, bright and colorful and fast paced....when you actually have a team. In the 10-15 hours I've spent playing Knockout City, I'd say more than a third of the games have been myself solo vs. a team of 3 or myself and an AFK vs. a team of 3. It's extremely frustrating and ruins what could be such an amazing experience. I'm not sure if this isThis game could be so much.     Another gripe is the menu system. You can't just exit the game, you have to go through the "more" section just to quit. WHY? And on top of that, if you get put into a match as a solo vs. 3, you can't just exit the game and queue into another because you'll get a leaver penalty, so I hope you enjoy jumping off the side of the map 10 - 20 times to end it quicker.

    All in all, what could be great is brought so far down by it's numerous problems. Don't get me wrong, I had fun in the time I actually played when it worked, but I just can't bring myself to recommend this in it's current state.    … Expand

    It's a lot of fun. Saw one user review saying this game takes no skill?? 1v1 me bro! There's ranked for those who actually want to try, which when you do, makes the game even more fun. It's easy to play, but hard to master so good luck! I highly recommend playing with your friends. Just try it for yourself... it's literally free so what's your excuse?

    A very beautiful and innovative game but they made a mistake with the marketing, this game could have been a new "Rocket league" in a way.
    This game had a free to play system but at launch after the open beta it was priced at around €30 (I don't remember well) and it was the only cause of the premature death of this game.

    With air-dashes, balletic pirouettes and the ability to curl yourself into a ball for a teammate to hurl, this is a long throw from the official sport that hopes, one day, to enter the Olympics. Games are just as taut and competitive, however, with lots of scope for showboating. No competitive online game in 2021 can be merely a competitive online game, however, and, like Fortnite et al, Knockout City has an entire superstructure of unlockable items and progress meters, with an eye to turning the game into an enduring entertainment platform. Whether or not it hits that elusive target, beneath the capitalist carapace this is wonderful game-making.

    Knockout City is one of the best team-based PvP games to come out in years. It's a fresh take on the American schoolyard staple that proves that lowering the mechanical bar for entry doesn’t have to come at the cost of deep tactical gameplay. Every match has the potential to be a dynamic “combat” experience that even the most hard-boiled shooter fan can appreciate, all thanks to the clever balance between throws and catches, exciting special balls, and well-designed maps to brawl through.
