    Magnificent.This is one of the best game of 2008.I cannot even begin to think how much free you are in this game.The graphic the gameplay the units(which are awsome) everything its on its place.Many quests many hours of gameplay free choise cool units some divine help :D and great worlds to explore.Pure bad ass.Look even the spells look awsome(especially fireball).10

The game is beautiful, even with aliasing turned off on my aging rig, both visually and the stories it weaves with a fantastic sense of humor. Leveling my hero was addictive to the point of insanity and I could scarcely stop playing long enough for basic hygeine. I highly recommend this to anyone regardless of their preferred gaming genres.     Fantastic game and a must-play for any fan of Heroes of Might & Magic. The humor is great, the challenge is decent and the game mechanic feels smooth and balanced. You can create your own strategic concepts or just go with large armies and good gear depending on the difficulty and your own desire. There's nothing bad to say about this little gem, really, so just play it.

    Had a lot of fun with this one. Great music, and I loved the crisp UI and colorful world graphics.

    Tried a couple of the sequels, but had a hard time getting into them since they are basically the same thing on a new map with other minor changes. In fact, if anything I'd say this original game was a little too long for my taste.

    A great game for all RPG and strategy fans! Amazing animations, attention to details, very interesting and intriguing battles (frankly speaking, far mor interesting, beautiful and animated than in HOMM series) and cool sounds make this game vital for all gamers who likes thinking, not just shooting. A certain must-have!

    Agreeing with a lot of the other reviews, this is reminiscent of HOM&M but much, much better. At level 6 and thoroughly enjoying it. Only a few down points: Map could be reworked a bit, its easy to get a bit disoriented, would like a quest point marker on map, minor spelling/grammatical errors. Other than that I fully recommend it, worth the money.

    Most underrated game I have ever played. Turn-based strategy RPG at its finest. If you are a fan of the HOMM series this game will blow you away. Be warned that it can be a rather difficult game, but that simply makes it all the more rewarding. Combat is very smooth and balanced.

Graphics are cool, but the gameplay is what you'll be glad you spent your money on: the tactical battles are great fun, challenging and thoughtful enough, and it's all wrapped up in a cosy, interesting and colorful world of adventure. So if you want some nice graphical Great game - immense, very rich, and although I am still journeying, already clearly a very long game indeed! Graphics are cool, but the gameplay is what you'll be glad you spent your money on: the tactical battles are great fun, challenging and thoughtful enough, and it's all wrapped up in a cosy, interesting and colorful world of adventure. So if you want some nice graphical alt-world escapism mixed with cerebral exercise in the strategic battles, with oodles of care and attention given to every inch of it -- then you might like this game a lot.     The best strategy game I've played in years. Imagine Heroes 5 with better graphics and much deeper strategy. Warning: This game is DIFFICULT. On the other hand, it's absolutely addictive - I haven't played anything else since I got it. BUY THIS GAME!!!! If you like strategy you won't regret it!!!

    It's a great game, indeed like HOMM saga, but really different gameplay. The battles (turn based) remind me of HOMM1 due to small number of units and small size terrain.     I've been waiting for a good tactical pseudo-RPG for a long, long time, then out of nowhere suddenly this. Like Heroes of Might & Magic if HoM&M was much, much better. A true gem in a year of disappointing games. Unmissable.

    I found plenty to entertain in this game, which was - as everyone said - something of an undiscovered gem. That said, after finishing the first two zones, and more than a half of the third one, it all became a little samey. I have certainly got value for money from this game, but can't quite see myself finishing it.

    An amazing spiritual successor to Heroes of Might and Magic! All combat all the time, but never gets old. A classic game model of easy to learn, a great challenge to master; a must have.

    This is the best strategy game I've played in years. In my opinion, this is better than Heroes of Might & Magic IV and V, and every bit as fun as 3. The pace is perfect, the fighting doesn't get old and the units are truly unique. If you are a fan of strategy games, you must own this title.

    Got this one in a humble bundle. Put over 100 hours into it, never regret a moment. It's challenging and just plain fun., would definitely recommend for everyone to try, especially since you can get all 3 king's bounty games for pretty damn cheap.

    Even though it's not as deep in strategy as "Heroes" (you cannot build castles, for example), the game features similar turn-based combat and world-exploration mechanics. The story is light-hearted and humorous, as are all the characters in the game    This is a must for all the "Heroes of Might and Magic" fans. :) And if you have never played "Heroes", than this is a good place to start!

I would happily have paid retail for this game if I'd even known about it before I bought it.     I know there are a lot of 10/10 reviews here, so I bet you're thinking that most of these are exaggerating and are just in love with the series. But this is without doubt a 10/10 game. It is such a charmy game and I've never been calmer playing an rpg game. When you have bought the first game in the series (this one), you just have to buy the other ones, because this game is magnificent.

Some of this is thrown in your face (like piles of gold just lying on the ground waiting to be picked up) but what makes the game special is the amount of it that's hidden. There is too much running back and forth to buy soldiers for your army from vendors that are randomly scattered throughout the game and there are times when you need to grind out battles just to get the exp so you can tackle a boss. When the two combine the game play bog downs and even the chuckles cannot save it. Still, this game is all about blowing **** up and having a laugh while your doing it. The game never takes itself seriously and this allows it to sparkle with wit and charm. Unique, highly recommended.… Expand

    Why all keep talking that Kb the Legend is like HOMM? Actually there was the original KB which gave birth to the Heroes and some other titles. It was by the far the best game runnung on IBM PC XT with 1MHz and 64Kb of memory :) I'm playing it sometimes even now. So it is HOMM like KB and The Legend is it's brilliant development. The realm is bright and beautiful, unlike a darkish Diablo sort. The world is made with care and love. Some things like buterflies or squirrels on trees wich some developers pehaps would think unnesessary make the scene nice and charming. A real fantasy world. The music is also nice, I really like some themes. It's fun to explorer the wolnd full of amusing things, doing quests, collecting stuff and deciding to whom help and to whom not. But the essense of the game is battles. There will be lots of them. The units and monsters besides basic charecteristics has special abilities (up to 7) which can change all the strategy. As enemy armies tend to become larger and larger, even a mage cannot kill all the monsters with attaking spells. But an ingenious use of troops special abilities, traps, all kinds of obstacles on the battlefield (natural and created like walls and ice), hindering enemy units spells etc. can bring down armies much larger than yours. For veterans of HOMM such tactical subtleties are well known of course and this game presents a great variety of circumstences for its application. For the novices in turn based games it can be a bit tough. So if you want just to explore the world, to learn its history chatting with NPCs, take the Easy difficulty option. You wil have a great number of battles aniway though :) But be sure that it is possible to deal with all whose monsters at the Difficult or even Impossible levels. With due troop and money management, lots of tactical considerations, spell choices and so on of course. I could say a lot more about this admirable game but well... find out for yourself. Imho a must have for RPG and turn-based battles fans.… Expand

    this game took me by surprise and i couldnt be happier! for me this is heroes of might and magic meets warcraft 3! i could never get into h m&m but this game just does it right, there could be more varietion in battles and more detail to unit info but this is still a great game

    Very nice and polished little game, the level of detail is bluffing being it graphically or story/quest wise and the game is very rich and deep, i particularly liked the humor in dialogs ( like a ghost trying to explain electricity to a medieval knight ), you really feel there is a living world in the background

    This game is extremly overrated. The battles in the beginning are either very easy or completetly impossible. Thereby the game becomes booring really fast.

Second, as soon as you enter the world you will find an alarming number of enemies who are simply too powerful to defeat. Even worse, there are enemies who fly the banner of your kingdom and nothing indicates that they are enemies until you're too close to avoid combat with these insanely high level assailants. The map is "nice" looking, but frustratingly difficult to navigate. Furthermore, enemies seem to have no boundaries. They will chase you across the entire map and when they catch you the only way to exit combat is to leave your entire army to die, which forces you to start over from nothing. Even the combat system feels very limited. During combat the abilities and powers of your troops aren't easy to reference and everything except the number of enemy troops seems to be hidden. The enemy will often use powers that "scare" your troops, causing you lose control of them for several turns, which is the ultimate role-playing no-no. And even your own character feels like a stranger to you, as he never actually participates in battle. I really, really wanted to like this game, but so many things about it are just sub-par. It's worse than unpolished - it feels like the designers simply didn't put any thought into this game.… Expand

At first I was a little bothered by how it only takes a few seconds to ride your horse to some place that's supposed to be far away but the charms of the game ended up making me happy to forget this. Do you like turn based combat? Do you like fantasy settings that don't take themselves seriously? Then you can't possiblyI am highly impressed by this game. It's got a gorgeous setting. I floundered around for a bit, trying to figure things out, and then I died and got sick of it.     incredible game! The graphic, the versatility and everything is fantastic. Most of the negative reviews are basically because those people didn't played the game longer than 20 minutes, seriously play flash-games then if you want action by pressing the start button.     Wow! While other turn-base games gets easier and easier on latter stages, this game requires strategy and planning for every fight. While fights can be repetitive, they are challenging and you could lose badly if you are careless.

    King's Bounty is a strategic turn-based game of 1C Company, based in a fantasy world. It is a Heroes of Might Magic game related, with a lot of points in common and some enjoyable differences. It is not a "clone", even if, for the fans of the former saga, many things will sound like a déjà-vu. First of all you have one hero to control and to send around the map, with attributes andKing's Bounty is a strategic turn-based game of 1C Company, based in a fantasy world. It is a Heroes of Might Magic game related, with a lot of points in common and some enjoyable differences. It is not a "clone", even if, for the fans of the former saga, many things will sound like a déjà-vu. First of all you have one hero to control and to send around the map, with attributes and statistics that increase with the levels. The movement in the map field is in real time and it’s plenty of quests to fulfil to proceed in the story and side-quests that gives you experience or precious objects.

    The fights are resolved like in the chess, deploying the troops in the left side and waiting for your turn to move, attack or use particular abilities for each unit, depending on how many action points the single unit owns. During our turn, it’s possible to cast magic or spend rage points summoning the Spirits of Rage. Rage and Magic are the opposite, with the time magic is replenished, Rage it’s increased only fighting and decrease while walking. This make the game really interesting and fast, you cannot afford to sit down in a place if you are not plenty of rage potions! Of course the pause option becomes really useful.

    Basically really simple, but still really enjoyable, compared with HOMM, the units are bought in special huts, castles, nests and places similar, they are not regenerated and the number the hero can take around, depends on his leadership level, that increases with levels, depending on the class chosen at the beginning (warrior, paladin or mage), objects equipped, bonus obtained and skills selected. The customization is not like many classic RPG, but still you can try different combinations to obtain different results.

    It’s possible to travel freely in the map, even if some locations are locked until some point in the story. If the enemies became too strong, there is surely another point in the world where obtain the necessary amount of experience and gold to be able to return back and finish all the quests. That makes the exploration enjoyable and funny.

    Graphically it’s really good, well detailed and bright even if a little outdated. On the opposite side the audio is nothing of particular. But the gameplay is something amazing. To conclude, be aware, this game can stole a significant amount of time from your life!    … Expand

    One of the best game I ever played. Gameplay, graphics (like caramel fairy contry) is awesome. Only HoMM3 can prolly compete with King's Bounty. The game can be rather difficult, but this is only adds an interest to play. Dont miss it

    I've been reminiscing about HOMM3 for so long. Nothing seems to fill that gap. Until this game. It's got no base building like in HOMM, but the combat is nearly identical. And that combat is SO ADDICTING! I've got only 15 hours into the game and I'm not even partway done with the campaign. I find it's the game I load up more compared to more recent AAA titles

    I kind of feel i'm an rpg veteran. so I guess I had some high hopes for this game, seeing as it wasn't funded by Satan EA, but by my forever bff Atari. Let me put it this way, If I was alone on an island, I wouldn't keep playing this game. Granted, I'm talking from a 2018 viewpoint, but I am, like I say, an RPG veteran. I'm not going into details, but the "likers" of this nonsense needI kind of feel i'm an rpg veteran. so I guess I had some high hopes for this game, seeing as it wasn't funded by Satan EA, but by my forever bff Atari.     A solid RPG mixed with strategy game similar to the Might and Magic series.

    After a while it gets quite repetitive with each quest and battle blending in to the next with out any memorable moments.

    Zanimljiva igrica u pm :D ima nekih losijih stvari tipa lvl up moze biti bolji MUZIKA TEK MOZE BITI BOLJA ali sve u svemu fun igrica za igranje nema sta :D ne bi vise prelazio dosta je dva puta za zivota XD Nema ni potrebe realno postane monotono posle nekog vremena isti fajtovi sve isto

    Magnificent.This is one of the best game of 2008.I cannot even begin to think how much free you are in this game.The graphic the gameplay the units(which are awsome) everything its on its place.Many quests many hours of gameplay free choise cool units some divine help :D

    Начал играть в игру после 5-ых героев. Всё было в новинку, очень долго осваивал механики, не мог понять, как правильно играть в игру. Но ясно было одно, я прямо залип. Квесты были настолько уникальные, что читать их было одно удовольствие. Тому кто писал квесты надо просто ставить памятник и продавать в ААА игры.Начал играть в игру после 5-ых героев.     on of the most intelligent turn based strategy games in the genre, kings bounty has a limitless combinations of spell uses and tactics. good rpg characteristics with nice character creation and a fine story. excellent artwork in general

    Отечественный геймдев не так уж и безнадежен, по крайней мере был...
    Must play для любого СНГ геймера. Играется свежо даже в 2021 году, не сдаёт позиций.

    Это было как минимум неплохо. Сюжет простоват, от геймплея слегка устаешь, возможно стоило сделать игру чуть менее продолжительной. Но в остальном все, повторюсь, неплохо.

    King’s Bounty: The Legend is an incredibly good game and a real classic. It takes a turn from Heroes of Might and Magic and continues its roots in its own franchise.

    The game is a classic fairy tale, serve the king, rescue the princes, defeat the dragon. Just how I like it. It is a turn-based strategy and role-playing game in almost the same style as Heroes of Might and Magic.

    The game looks good and is very colorful and beautifully decorated with all sorts of farms, caves, items and more. The music is amazing, it has a lot of variety and adapts on the location you currently are. It is one of the best collections of soundtracks I have heard in a long time.

    The lore found in the game is fun to read and has many jokes and references to other games and stereotypes about certain races and creatures in the game. The creatures themselves are well balanced, each with their unique skills and strengths (except the black dragons, they are horrible). The variety in this units is massive, and each type requires a certain strategy to defeat when encountered.

    King’s Bounty: The Legend is a very, extremely hard game. The difficulty is legendary. On one side, I like this because it gives me a challenge to defeat it, but on the other hand, it is sometimes ridiculous.

    Normally, the main story line is easier to complete then side quests, but here, there is no difference. Also, I do not get the difficulty spikes. One moment, you fight a weak bunch of lake dragon flies, the other moment you get your butt handed to you by giants, arch mages, ghosts and vampires. In the beginning, you can avoid hard battles and come back to them when you have sufficient leadership and troops, but later on, every single encounter drains almost all of your troops and you can go back to town to buy more (because you know the next encounter will be end of the line). It also does not help that unit stacks have limited quantities and when a strong or your favorite unit is depleted, you have a problem. The gold on the maps is also fixated. If you screw up by buying the wrong units or useless items and you do not have an earlier save, then you can start over.

    Like I said, this game has no mercy. I found out that the only way to beat it, is by (sooner or later) completing all the quests, every single last one of them, collect all the leadership banners, do every errand possible and leave no stone unturned. Only then will you acquire enough attack, defense, leadership, and resources to have a chance of defeating the last two boss battles. I only beaten the game by running one more errand which granted me some money because I simply did not have enough to buy troops for the last battle before that. I literally collected every single gold coin on the map and lost (like usual) 3/4th of my army with the orc giant. In the end, the developers throw everything they got at you and with luck you survive. Thank God for the Chest of Rage and a horde of Sprites.

    So overall, King's Bounty: The Legend is a great game with lot of different encounters, quests, and bosses. My experience was intense, and every won battle felt as a total victory. It was hard as the seven layers of hell and many times I asked myself: “But how?”. Nevertheless, I had fun with the game, and it will always be a classic in my library.

    Even with the lower standard of graphics and sound, the game is still above board in the fun department. I really like this title and thank it deserves some big time praise for bringing back the cool in single-player RPGs.
