The scenery is beautiful and interactive, anywhere you go you can find a house to rob or you can murder a family, to each his own, you can also get ambushed by bandits or be challenged to a duel.
The game is realistic as you need to sleep and eat and though it may seem complicated it is quite simple to grasp the concept. The story is always fun no matter what, whether it's a simple quest like getting some coal or wether it is more important like storming a castle, the story never ceases to amaze. Not to mention the game is very long and even after having completed the story there so much more left to do in the world, the side quests are endless.
Getting new loot is always exiting and looking good will always make you feel like an actual night in the medieval era.
Sure there may be bugs here and there but they are rarely major and most of the time they are funny.
In conclusion I highly recommend this game to everyone with a pc and time on their hands, the game is fun and one of a kind. This game is a must to anyone fond of or interested in the medieval era.

I haven't been so enamoured with a game in years. It does have a steep learning curve, the the challenge kept me hooked. Even 40 hours into the game a band of peasants can still catch you off guard and kill you.

It plays amazingly, on the Steam Deck too.

The only negative is maybe the wonky but thematic save system, but other than that. Play this game!

This game has been fun. I am still playing it. I have not had any of the bugs issues yet. The only problem I have experienced is getting stuck in an area and cannot move. The map looks big but travel time manually back to where I was doesn't take too long. I enjoy the horse ride through the countryside. I grew up in a farming community, and I feel they did pretty good on the details. I have no complaints so far. This looks like an up-and-coming company and game. Game mechanics are hard to get used to but like anything else, practice...practice...practice... I think they came up with a good idea to base fighting movements on reactions, timing, stamina, and health. Makes fighting give that small fear factor to aid you in reacting.
Almost a year later, this game is still my favorite. With 300+ hours of gameplay, I cannot get enough of the environment. I played through quickly the first time and wished I had taken the time to enjoy the journey instead of the end game. I have tried adding some of the Nexus mods to tweak some of the things that annoy me (like the animation of bending down to pick herbs) but got carried away with some of the mods that just made the game different from the original. I chose to start the game again after the latest DLC (Yes, I WILL CONTINUE TO SUPPORT WARHORSE STUDIOS) and play the game with only a couple mods with the intent of taking my time to enjoy the journey this time. I so much love the game mechanics and not to mention the breathtaking simplicity and beauty of the countryside. The game has won BEST GAME EVER award for me. WARHORSE STUDIOS: Please make more games like this!
+ Using historical places (that can still be seen today) along with the storyline. *BTW* I hate history!
+ Fantasy of role-playing as an underdog and likable character with choices of integrity, emotion, and open world adventure - especially avoiding time-sensitive events.
+ Story including family and connecting with a cause of family honor, friendships, loyalty, and a sense of character development. Starting as a pauper or an incredible backstory of the player's history (like the twist in Henri's birthright).
    + Simplicity and realism
    + Open world
+ Modding for new storylines, community add-ins, and story enhancing DLC
There will always be a sentimental connection to this game. Keep up the great work Warhorse Studios! I'm looking forward to what comes next with your game studio! Wishing you the best of luck!

The best RPG game for a long time. Best immersion into a dark-ages world, both visual and historical, good storyline. The gameplay was not as hard as many people comment, after a certain level it's really just clicking fast. But still, the most enjoyable game, and I come from the country which produced Whitcher 3, and I still prefer KCD!

Maybe it's because it's modeled on real life Bohemia, and they used actual geo data..

And I definitely agree with going Hardcore mode, it's so much better for exploration. It's not even that vast area-wise, but it's insanely detailed and realistic. I've actually gotten completely lost in the woods in that game. I found remote locations only by following directions, and even then I sometimes had to visually triangulate landmarks to find it. It's so rare for a game to have out-of-the-way places that I'd *never* stumble upon accidentally.

I also find it visually gorgeous, and while the overall plot is nothing special on paper, the execution is exceptional IMO and - again - very detailed, grounded, and (as much as I dislike the word, but it's appropriate here) very immersive, yeah. For me, the only game that rivals the believable voice-acting, animation, and overall production values, is The Witcher 3.

Also, last but not least, quite good roleplay opportunities and choices & consequences.

    Highly recommended!

Everything has weight to it and each battle feels like a struggle in the best way possible. While hand to hand combat is clunky and the five-prong attack system feels like a less robust version of Skyward Sword's sword combat, it still doesn't take away the fun you'll have. Quests are as various as they are multifaceted. The story is surprisingly well told with a great main character, Henry. I also have to commend the designers on presenting the world of 15th century Bohemia as it was. No modern day revisionism. No tongue in cheek critiques on their culture/religion. They show you the world and how it is, nothing more and certainly nothing less. This is perhaps one of the best RPG's in the past decade if not the best. Recommended to all RPG fans. Expand

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is a first person RPG set in a historically accurate world of medieval Bohemia. The historic accuracy is probably the most amazing aspect of the game and I feel like it is not appreciated enough. Even by me. As you play this game, you might not feel it as such, but if you study medieval history at least a little bit, or if you visit the sites of the game in the real world, you will begin to understand that this game has achieved something extraordinary. But the historical accuracy is not the only thing that this game does well. The combat system is really great, you can really see and feel the progression that Henry makes with a sword, but you can also feel your own skill rising. The graphics is pretty, specially the weapons and armor look very nice. The character animations are not perfect, but you have to take into consideration that this game is not AAA. It was made on a limited budget with the initial funds coming from a kickstarter campaign. The game font is beautiful and makes reading a pleasure. Music is great and very atmospheric. The main story is interesting and non repetitive and you can clearly see the handwriting on Mr. Vavra in it. Same goes for the side quests, which is definitely something this game does better than most other RPGs. The regular difficulty is challenging enough, with the hardcore difficulty being a great bonus for a second playthrough. On the downside, this game really suffered from many bugs following its release. They fixed most of them within a year of release, but still it has to be said that the game was released pretty raw. The save system does not suit me at all. I fully understand what the developers meant to say by this, but it is just nothing for me. I like to save often. No microtransactions and no SJW crap in this game. i would expect nothing else from these developers.

    DLCs:

From the Ashes - First DLC for KC:D. This DLC allows you to build and maintain a village of Pribyslavitz as its Bailiff appointed by Lord Divish. There is a number a wasted opportunities here, this DLC is pretty short and your involvement in actually designing the village is really shallow. Overall I would expect this DLC to be at least twice as long and offer more involvement in building the village. Verdict: 62 %

The Amorous Adventures of Bold Sir Hans Capon - Second DLC for KC:D. This DLC builds on already well written and funny relationship between and Henry and Hans Capon. It adds three relatively long quests, in which you need to help Hans in seducing a fair maiden from the town of Rattay. The level of writing is very good as usual. As with most DLCs you are paying quite a lot for not so much. Overall a nice addition to the game. Verdict: 73 %

Band of Bastards - Third DLC for KC:D. This time you become a part of a mercenary band that serves Sir Radzig Kobyla as you try to uncover a plot against him by one of his old rivals. This DLC introduces a bunch of new characters and of all the DLCs, this one offers the most conventional and traditional gameplay. Overall a good little addition to the story. Final Verdict: 68 %

A Woman's Lot - Fourth and last DLC for KC:D. This DLC is also probably the most unconventional one and the only one ( and the only moment in the entire game ), where you play as other characters. This DLC is split into two distinct section. In the first part you play as Theresa as she escapes the destroyed Skalitz. The second part is a conventional quest in which you ( as Henry ) need to help your friend Johanka with a myriad of troubles. This DLC offers the most chilling and possibly even dark content in the entire game. I like the Woman's Lot more than any of the previous DLCs. It is fitting that this DLC is the last one, it makes you want for KCD sequel even more. Final Verdict: 86 %

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is a medieval life simulator that will take you back to a time, when Europe was still ( sort of ) alright. Final Verdict: 90 %

I played this game on my PC in 2020 with all available patches and DLCs (dog included). I rarely met any bug and I was impress how smoothly it worked. For more than 300 hours (finished all quests and maxed everything) the game never crashed (not once). Only sad thing is that the game ended and there is no more story content although even though you can still wander through landscape and discover new things and places and beat more bandits :). Now I finished and discovered whatever was possible. I quit really satisfied but little bit sad it ended. I would really like to see KCD2 (possible) and KCD3 (who knows) and/or some more DLCs (probably not), hopefully Warhorse team under new owner will make it right again. Expand

One of the best games I’ve played. The way you have to learn and practice throughout the game makes it great when you succeed in battles. The main story line have a lot of twists and turn that had me hooked through my play throughs. Even the side quest were great, each different from the last. I would also recommend picking up the DLCs.

Were they fullfilled? In a way, yes. But they also higly exceeded them in a lot of different ways as well.

I have more than 60hrs of gameplay behind me, I played all of DLCs (Royal Edition) as well and I will try to highlight most importat things, pros and cons of this game:

+ Everything in this game is --really-- realistic and since it is a simiulation of a real world, you have to accept the fact, that there is no magic (only sharlatans and cheaters). This may not seem as a "pros" for a game, but trust me, it'll help you feel "as you were there".
+ Every game mechanic is beleviable and trustworthy. Lockpicking, stealth (remember that in Skyrim with high level Stealth you could do almost everything? Not here), and of course - fighting. It is a huge satisfaction to see Henry "rise" with you as you understand and learn basic of archery and sword-fighting. You'll probably hate it for a few hours at start, but then you'll begin to love it and then most of the games in comparison will begin to look a bit dull.
+ Story and most of the quest are a true masterpiece. Of course there are some dull quest with bring me this and that sort, but sometimes you'll feel truly amazed and you will cry a tears of joy as well (Father Goodwin quest is certainly the best one).
+ In a way it is a trully hardcore experience but still there are a lot of mechanics that will ease your pain. There are only a handful of moments where will you hate the game for being so hardcore. Most of the time it s a fair challenge and satisfaction which comes in hand with this is just wonderful.

    - There are minor bugs still even after two years. Some of the quest needs to be reloaded and played again, though I have never had a problem which would made any quest unfinishable.
    - Optimisation of the game is not the best, that is the fact, but if you have 2020 machine, it should be mostly ok with this 2018 title. I had only a few moments that my framerate dropped under 30fps while playing on High/Ultra settings and fullHD resolution.
    - a very few quest are a bit dull and it's clearly just a reason to lenghthen the game itself.

Overall this a true masterpiece of a game industry and one of the games which will help in a other fields like history classes. This game is a work of art and brilliance.

    Go get it.

My main issue with this game is the hole ending starting when you enter Vranik and ending with the final main quest, but apart from that the game is great.
Also, remember that this game was not made by a big studio, and warhorse did a fantastic job with this game.

Then the random guard attacked me for whatever reason (he first followed me for a while and then started to punch me). After I died, I found out that about an hour of my progress is gone, as the game doesn't save even on quests completion. Which is 'fun' and 'realistic' I suppose. I have like 2 hours after my job to play games. Do you actually think that it's a good idea to simply waste my time like that?! Ok, you're going for the realism. Then at least have consistent rules! Why some quests save your game and some don't? Why should I constantly check if my game was saved or not?!

Obviously, if you're fine with losing hours of progress here and there, buggy gameplay and overall lack of polish it's still might an interesting game for you.

To get good at PvP you have to train some hours or you'll die but thats something different considered to other games where you are overpowered from the beginning on. That means you have something to do every time and dont get bored. The PvP system in the game is very good but sometimes a bit buggy, same goes for hitboxes from tree branches, stones and some more. It's not just a game - it's a piece of art and a history lesson of Bohemia, today's Czech republic.
There is no hand holding to be found, you will die and you will be annoyed at times (like a classic good RPG) but then when you succeed it will feel so much more rewarding.

Be immersed, see it like reading a good book and you will enjoy it, even slow parts like the monestary. Without spoiling anything, they managed with the monestary to capture an amazing genuine feeling which I've almost never seen before. They dare to make chapters which are not fast paced and made for simple entertainment.

Anyhow, it's a gem of an RPG, but it does require immersion. Immerse yourself and you will be rewarded in one of the most memorable RPG:s ever made.

    Pros:

*Amazing realistic enviroments, with beautiful hills, streams, grass.. the way it flows like in real life. Or fires in the night. Houses and churches. Same goes with armor and weapons.
    *Great focused story of intrigue
    *Great characters and character development
*Great voice acting (for the most part)
*Incredible immersion and "feeling", you feel like you are a part of an adventure.
    *The music.
    *Humor
*Interesting and rewarding profession system (alchemy, herbs etc)
    *No real life political pandering

    Cons:

    *Bad face-animations
*Annoying saving and sleep system. (bedroll anyone?)
*Clunky combat, even tho it is interesting in it's own way
*Rewards for quests and missions sometimes feel very underwhelming
*Some lose ends in the story which you never get to revisit
*Clunky performance, low FPS. Needs better optmization.

I cannot wait for the next installment!

This masterpiece have a lot of negative reviews because there was a lot of bugs when the game launched, BUT these bugs are completely patched out. This games is the best rpg i played in the last few years, the game demands a lot of time and patience but it will pay off! If you like hardcore RPG's this is your game.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Great, beautiful one-of-a-kind game, a real gem. Great looks, beautiful atmosphere, great combat system (hard to master but very rewarding). Great story up until the end, which I felt was rather abrupt and left much to be desired: Your whole main quest just gets aborted with a rather poor plot-twist: Not good. This is why I rate it 8 and not 10. Otherwise a complete marvel.

Never thought i'd like the setting of the medieval eastern Europe, but this game evoked a genuine interest in that era in me. The main plot, music, settlements design — everything filled with Slavic soul. Gameplay is specific. Fans of the hardcore realistic combat system would probably love it, but for me mechanics seemed clumsy and too disbalanced.

Upon the release the PC version is the only reasonable way to enjoy Kingdom Come. And there’s a lot to enjoy, because historically accurate Middle Ages are an awesome setting. The beginning of the game might not be spectacular, but give Deliverance a chance and it will develop into a unique, deep, gripping experience. [04/2018, p.42]

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is a different kind. It's incredibly absorbing in its pace, it amazes with a manically detailed medieval era features and a totally true atmosphere, a series of skillfully built quests and, and when you get used to it, a fantastic combat system. There is a one-too-much cliché in the story arc, but the main problem lies in the technical issues. The game is, however, such a remarkable, huge, different and fresh experience that the occasional bug can be simply ignored.
