Kill or Love is a delightfully macabre game. I usually don’t like visual novels with few choices but this one managed to keep me engaged. The story is great, especially the twist near the end. I also thought that all possible endings were good in their own way although I do have a favourite. I also thought that all possible endings were good in their own way although I do have a favourite. The game does a good job of being able to switch between points of view whether they be your present; your diary; the past; as well as switching to Anna and Grace’s point of view all without getting overly complicated. The characters all are presented in a way where you can dislike or like them for a variety of reasons just like most real people, even Anna. The art style is an interesting blend where backgrounds are a realistic but blurry style and people are more of an anime style. The music did a good job of shifting between happy melodies and creepy ones although I thought the creepy ones were far better and more interesting. I also found the doctor character to be entertaining although it is never explained why his face is blurred out.

I played Kill or Love on Linux. It never crashed on me and I didn’t notice any spelling errors or bugs. Alt-Tab didn’t work. You can save at any time and there are 54 save slots for that.

Overall I enjoyed Kill or Love more than I thought I would. I do wish there was more story branching but overall the choices you do make make a real difference and the story is good as it was. I finished the game in 98 minutes and it felt like a good length and with the game being free of charge it is certainly good value. Many people will call this game depressing; sad; dark; and they would be right but it is exactly why I liked it myself.

I feel like the 3/4 of the endings are not very good, but besides that, I think that this is a very good visual novel that you can finish in around 2-3 hours. Good job!

The story was surprisingly engaging. I expected some comedic yandere story but I got something much better. I appreciate that the story gets straight to the point, and there isn't a single wasted scene that has nothing to do with the actual plot. Just another fun and short free visual novel.
