    I've played this game well over 6 times and absolutely love the direction they we're going for.

    The gunplay Is chaotic and messy, the cover doesn't fully protect from gunfire which adds a sense of vulnerability, and the shooting can be Inaccurate which adds to the chaotic feeling. And all of this stuff I really really love, the fact that they don't hold your hand on these mechanics like    I've played this game well over 6 times and absolutely love the direction they we're going for.

    And all of this stuff I really really love, the fact that they don't hold your hand on these mechanics like every other third shooter before and after this game Is great.

    These characters are absolute madmen who push through Impossible odds through anger and adrenaline especially during "A thousand cuts" and also for the story it's quite good for what it's going for, it's shot In a very messy and poorly paced way due to the whole found footage direction which I find brilliant.

    It generally adds to the whole experience, nothing goes right with these characters, and the world Is beautifully ugly, and everything Is screwed up.

    I love it, would recommend to anyone who wants a unique and odd experience.    … Expand

    The first game was a guilty pleasure of mine, but I can honestly say that I unironically think Kane and Lynch 2 is at least a decent game. The first game was just so janky; basically exactly what your would expect to happen if a team known for their subtle stealth games tried to make an action game. Kane and Lynch 2 however is just so competent that I can't really justify hating it. The graphics are good for 2010, the style is interesting (although you can turn off shaky can if you get motion sick) and the environments of Shanghai China are exceptional. I really appreciate the level of environmental destruction and chaos that goes into the game's more intense action scenes. Sadly, the game has a similar issue to the first Kane and Lynch where the last third of the game takes a dip in quality (although it is nowhere near as bad this time around). Overall I enjoyed this game, there just isn't anything else like it. The idea of taking these two characters and just putting them in this horrible unwinnable situation where all of China basically wants them dead combined with the brutal digital camera esc presentation just strikes a chord with me in terms of setting a tone (example: when you get a headshot, the target's head is made pixelated, as if being censored on some sort of news network giving it a heighted sense of brutality) and that's exactly what this game excels at: tone. It may not be the best game of the 2010s to say the least, but it was a unique experience that I think I'll remember fondly. Kane and Lynch 2 is an ugly ugly game. В какой другой игре вам дадут полетать на вертушке, расстреливая всех врагов в здании, а потом еще и расстрелять пару хеликоптеров самостоятельно?
    - уровни сложности отличаются    Плюсы:
    - самобытность и атмосферность боев, интенсивность перестрелок и их качество, большое количество самых разноообразных локаций и заданий - вот то, что выделяет «Кейна и Линча» среди других экшенов. В какой другой игре вам дадут полетать на вертушке, расстреливая всех врагов в здании, а потом еще и расстрелять пару хеликоптеров самостоятельно?
    - уровни сложности отличаются достаточно сильно.
    - телефонные разговоры во время загрузки локаций - хорошая и удобная для игрока фича.
    - озвучка Кейна и Линча и звуки на высоте: выстрелы, попадания пуль в различные объекты, шум вертушек и приборов и т.д. и т.п.
    - отличная оптимизация старого движка. Картинка насыщена деталями, правда, иногда несколько действуют на нервы однообразные здания на стройке, но таковы реалии. С физикой проблем особых тоже нет: слегка чувствуется отдача при стрельбе, деревянные объекты разрушаются достаточно быстро, а каменные или металлические не простреливаются. Так что если ваш экран стал красным или мутным - ищите, кто спрятался сбоку или сверху, а не грешите на недоработки.

    Минусы:
    - интеллект противников. Они тупы, как пробка от шампанского, хотя способны нанести большой урон. Спрятавшись за одним ящиком, враги не перекатываются, не пытаются быстро перескочить в более удобную позицию, а сидят на одном и том же месте. Причем за одним укрытием может находиться до пяти-шести вражин, попеременно выглядывающих из-за него. Несмотря на это, на среднем и выше уровнях сложности этот «тир» становится тяжелым и захватывающим. Да и, по крайней мере, такая перестрелка выглядит куда более реалистичной, чем «толпа на толпу», как это часто бывает в экшенах.
    - скудный выбор кнопок для управления. Например, чтобы перепрыгнуть через препятствие, надо нажать W (вперед) и C (укрытие). Можно выбрать назначение любой кнопки, но в итоге изменится и комбинация.
    - спрятавшись, нельзя переползти на другое место. Для этого сначала надо встать (максимум, что можно сделать - пригнуться, чтобы в тебя было сложнее попасть), а потом снова сесть.

    Вывод: если вы играли в Dead men, Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days стоит пройти обязательно. Разработчикам удалось сохранить атмосферу приключений героев и сделать сюжет интересным.
    P.S. Чуть не забыл: трясущуюся камеру и спецэффекты любительской камеры советую отключить в настройках, не то укачает.    … Expand

    Gave me a migraine in the first 10 minutes, stay away at all costs, the camera shake is terrible, I literally get motion sick by standing still.

    My favourite game. I love all aspects. Michael Mann's style story, so easy but so brutal, with Harmony Korine's style art design, so dirty and so genuinely plus unbelievable snuff's style of cinematographic gameplay. Uncut gem.

    KL2 is a third-person action shooter, with a couple of gimmicks throw in to try to make the gameplay stand out from other entries in the genre. The gameplay certainly stands out in this genre for being    If you are considering playing Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days, be warned, it is extremely bad, and I would find it very hard to convince anyone to play it, no matter what the price of entry is.

    KL2 is a third-person action shooter, with a couple of gimmicks throw in to try to make the gameplay stand out from other entries in the genre. The gameplay certainly stands out in this genre for being a prototype for the worst cinematic, linear, action shooter.

    The game's world is presented through a visual filter, which admittedly, looks nice on first sight. Unfortunately, it makes objects in the distance look hazy which did effect the gameplay negatively. For example, when the enemies were firing at me from a long distance, the hazy vision made it difficult for me to aim and fire back at them.

    To make matters worse, the bullet detection is unreliable. You will find yourself emptying a clip of ammo at an enemy standing square in your line of sight, only to realize that not a single bullet has registered. This is especially frustrating against some of the bullet-sponge enemies that appear later in the game. This game also has a dysfunctional cover system, where I was still taking damage from fire even if when I was completely covered behind a wall. The frustrations are dampened slightly by the "down but not out" mechanic included, which gives players a chance to recover once their health drops low enough. All in all, the gameplay is full of frustrations and the most basic mechanics do not function like they are supposed to.

    The story in this game is quite poor as well, the cut scenes are well produced, but they start and end awkwardly, at times it looked like they were interrupted. The locations in the game lack cohesion, at some point I found myself running in an airport without knowing how or when the characters got there, due to a lack of exposition. The characters and voice acting kept me somewhat engaged through the first hour of the game, but after that it fell apart.

    I did not experience the multiplayer in this game, but for what it is worth, it was considered the brightest aspect of this game when it came out in 2010.    … Expand

    First of all this game is bad. Bordering on being complete garbage. The graphic does feel a bit outdated now. The envionment looks pretty generic as well. If they didn't tell it is located in Shanghai I would have assumed it's New York or Hong-Kong or something along those lines. It looks just generic.     Most terible thing about it is probavly how the camera works. It's stylised after reality shows. It's shaky as hell and you can't turn it off. That coupled with over the top visual effects which makes it very hard to tell what's going on at the moment and you will be lucky if you don't get sick while playing.

    The story is very unclear and I was having a hard time to work out what is going on. It almost felt like some cut sceenes were missing. The characters hinted different things that were never explained. It's unlcear what exactly transpired to get the two main characters in to the fight they ended up.

    The game is a standard cover based third person perspecitve shooter. You follow a pretty obvious path and just shoot people as you go along. And while some guns feel nice, there is a lot of terrible ones. Especially the SMGs with their terrible aim are worse than a normal pistol. As those are the guns you will be dealing with early on it gets really tempting to throw the damn thing out of the window.

    So why I liked in the end? No idea. It's fairly short, a bit brutal and definitelly mindless. Provides a challange at times but it's rather on the easy side. And I do like the Kane and Lynch characters and have fond memories about the first game featuring them in. So the nostalgia might have played a role in me liking the game. Subjectivly I'd recommend staying from it as far as possible.    … Expand

    Story is still pretty much non existant and cheap B action movie genre stuff, both main protagonists still are unlikeable but you supisngly can see some humanity in them which wasnt a thing in original.     Gameplay wise its a slight step forward from first one, but still nothing particularly good. Shooting still is very unprecise. Now i dont have issues with more realistic shooting mechanics where you wont be able to place every bullet in your enemy like kids in games like Gears of War, but what brings it down is that the enemy AI compared to you is extremely accurate when it comes to filling you with bullets making the difficulty curve very unbalanced. Game has decent amount of guns, but they lack any weight or mechanical feedback and their sounds seem like ripped from generic sound effects library.

    The action camera approach at start seems like a cool gimmick, but when your head gets dizzy you hate it instantly. Also i cant stand the agressive screen effects used to make the gameplay feel even more cinematic, they also unssuccesfully try to hide the not so impressive graphics of the game where the only color is either grey or light black with flat texture work and plasticky looking character models.

    Easily the biggest draw back is the game's length, its only about 3.5 - 4 hours, other game modes are not worth your time since no one plays it online.

    Its a very average action game with a dark gritty feel that kinda feels unique, but theres a much better game similiar to this called Max Payne 3 which also has something called replay value. Get this game only if youre really got nothing better to play in given moment and only if its sold for bargain bin money.    … Expand

    I know what you're thinking, the game is probably bad but hey it costs virtually nothing on a sale right? Wrong! Not only is the game is not worth it at 50 cents, every moment you spend on this terrible game is time taken away from a good game. If you value your time, don't waste it on this garbage.

    Retarded Ai, glitches everywhere, shaky camera in a **** 3rd person mode. Just freaking horrible i couldn't even get past the first mission every cell in my body told me to alt-f4 and play something else. Just stay away.

    The story line is not as good as in the first Kane & Lynch. But still, this is a very good game, with a good graphics and game mechanics. A lot of action and shooting.

    I use the games box as a punching bag when im stressed or mad. That is the only thing this is good for, if you bought it digitally this game has no redeeming qualities. Not one thing. Story is awful, characters are boring as hell, and the camera, oh god the camera. I know the "cinematic" camera can be turned off but that is just awful. The only thing it gets a point for is making me laughI use the games box as a punching bag when im stressed or mad.     Have you forced yourself of finishing a game just to see if you get to enjoy it down the road? Well, that's what this game was for me, it's a really unrefined shooter and would never pay $10 for it, I got it in a bundle but wouldn't pay more than $3 for it, and even then I would rather expend the $3 on an indie game who will be over 5h of fun.

    The game is like an interactive action movie which you control the characters, the story is poor and it seems like a recycled story from Kane and Lynch: Deadmen but the voice acting is pure and powerful, the gameplay is average but the graphics is fantastic..
    Pros:
    -good voice acting -good graphics -better gameplay than the first franchise, which include the running and the cover    The game is like an interactive action movie which you control the characters, the story is poor and it seems like a recycled story from Kane and Lynch: Deadmen but the voice acting is pure and powerful, the gameplay is average but the graphics is fantastic..
    Pros:
    -good voice acting
    -good graphics
    -better gameplay than the first franchise, which include the running and the cover system
    -the main characters are lovable

    Cons:
    -poor story
    -poor A.I.
    -few and poor weapon choices
    -shooting mechanics is pretty dumb

    Kane and Lynch is a good franchise for my opinion and IO interactive and Eidos should put it on their priorities, too bad they cancelled the 3rd one.. I'm still hoping and waiting for the next franchise for an improved gameplay experience :)

    Very underrated series. I love the feeling, setting, sound and characters of Kane & Lynch. Even though the gameplay is not the greatest, it is still worth playing just for those. It is very dark, depressing and the youtube like format of the grainy camera fits perfectly. Imo it is worth buying just for the menu screen! Best menu screens ever!

    Some of the scenes in the game also feel very unsettling thanks to the music design. Especially a shootout early in the game where police sirens is mixed into the sound and music makes for a very nice, hopeless and unsettling feeling.

    I would love for Rockstar to get involved in Kane & Lynch. It would fit their style perfectly. If they can just keep the feeling but polish up the gameplay it could be truly amazing.    … Expand

    A massive upgrade on the first game, but don't blame us if you get a bit tired of shooting people in the face. [Issue#244, p.106]

    The best advice i can give is to trust your own instincts: even after reading this, if the concept and setting still appeal to you, definitely give it a chance. Just don't expect to feel the same way when it's over.

    Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days is an interesting beast because it really shouldn't exist. Outside of a unique art style it brings nothing new to the genre and does little to improve over the original game, which I might add, was far from a good game.
