Explore a ruined open world of caverns and settlements. Hack and slash your way through missions: patrol, repair, scavenge - choose your quests and dialogue. Or go fishing, forage mushrooms, and race the clock! The old world is gone - the future is up to you.

Ever been caught backtracking for ages, trying to figure out where to go next? In Kandria there's no risk of that -- wherever you want to go, you can, right from the start.

Following a narrow tunnel among the rubble you are lead to a large underground lake, brimming with rare fish. With your trusty sword-turned-fishing-rod, you'll have your encyclopedia filled out in no time. And better yet, with the right merchant, you'll be swimming in riches, not just water!

Right from the start you're pulled into a conflict between two of the remaining factions in the valley. Despite your strength and abilities, this is not something you can solve on your own, and being an outsider trust is hard to come by.

Kandria is a grim and melancholy platforming experience that'll fascinate you from the off. With interesting characters, a sombre plot, and excellent aesthetics, it is worthy of your time. Its only downfall is its lack of a skill tree, its lacklustre combat, and its minimal upgrade elements.

So Kandria is a strange game, but there’s a value in the game being confusing, and weird, and gangly, and distinct. It’s unique in a lot of ways, and that uniqueness is well worth seeing for yourself if what I’ve been saying sounds remotely interesting to you.

Kandria has a great premise, a fitting soundtrack, and impressive visuals. It’s unfortunate that most of that is ignored since you are forced to spend time through precision platforming. Rather than drawing strength from other aspects of gameplay, Kandria wants you to solve puzzles. The adventure sounds great on paper, but turns out to be a frustrating experience that isn’t worth embarking on.
