Overall, if you don't care about the plot, then this game's great! Otherwise, this game's not for you. The vast majority of this game is just blowing stuff up and messing about, sort of like a sandbox. It does suffer from a few performance issues, but ran smoothly otherwise. Graphics are ok to say the least.

윙슈트를 타면서 기지를 붕괴시켜 나가다보면 분명 다른 게임에서는 느낄 수 없는 쾌감이 오지만 단순한 파괴의 반복은 역시 빠르게 질린다.

Ana hikayeyi bitirdim. Tüm challengeları 5 gears yaptım. Hikaye hiç umursamadım, because just cause. Ana odağım baseleri ele geçirip challengeları tamamlamak oldu. Oynarken güzel vakit geçirdim. DLC'lere başladım ama sarmadı bıraktım.

Game is pure dumb fun, only gripe is when there are so many explosions the frames go from 60 to 3 and when it tries to be deep while being a game about blowing up stuff for fun.

A fun game of mayhem and havoc that does not take itself too seriously, and manages to get away with it without coming off as obtuse. Mechanically sound and fun to play.

I had high hopes for a new Just Cause game to drop. But when this game came out today, I felt that Just Cause 3 is fine and all but couldn't match the shear amount of how awesome the second game as if Michael Bay would've ever dreamed of making a Just Cause movie filled with explosions. JC3 is a disappointment for me. Issues with the specs. Frustrating camera

The grappling hook is fun .. but all in all, there is no challenge.

When compared to lets say .. Clancys Wildlands .. that tries to take a more serious tone (for the lack of a better term of a single person overthrowing an entire country to be serious and realistic anyway...) There is simply no depth in Just Cause 3.

I did like the character though .. Rico is fun and his comedic sidekick is surprisingly not so annoying. Other characters feel quirky and the whole game does not take itself any serious at all.

Oh, on the technical side .. i actually do have quite an expensive PC and the game ran smoothly most of the time .. but micro-froze every now and then, especially in passages that involved travelling quickly (like gliding at very low altitude) .. which made many challenges impossible.

It is above average .. but by no means outstanding.

i can't say that the game is bad, because isn't.
    BUT.
the poor work that the developers team did about optimization was terrible.

    I'm running this with
    8GB Ram
    nVidia GTX 960m (Overclocked)
    Core i7 4710HQ

And i got a terrible memory leak.
Videogame devs should know: Every game can't be good if people just can't play it. lol.
Try fixing that broken ass game.

I bought it and played for 8-10 hours. I did not feel at home with it as I did when I first played Just Cause 2. I simply felt that 2 was just a better game in it's general gameplay and cut-scene content. I loved the graphics in 3 and felt that the map itself in this one was much more alive and felt nice on the next gen console.

However, I am very disappointed about the game's setting. While it has captured it well, it feels a bit bland. Most of them look the same and do not have enough variation (especially when JC2 has mountains, cities, tropical forests and deserts combined together in one map). Rico looks ugly in this game, which sometimes breaks immersion. The plot is ok, like all other JC games. There are some technical issues here and there, but overall it is a game that I find fun to play. Definitely expecting a multiplayer mode from it given how good the JC multiplayer mod is, but there isn't one here, so I'd consider it a missed opportunity. Modders will get to create one someday eventually.

The makers of Just Cause 3 obviously took a very close look at Far Cry 4.
However, execution is sub par in my opinion.
The AI in this game is lame, to say the least.
Blowing stuff up is fun at first, until you realize all missions are more or less the same, then it gets old really fast.
    Long term playability is limited.

I like the destructible walls/bridges in some areas of the game, and the tethers are fun to use, but I don't like that stuff such as extra tethers and planted bombs are locked behind minigame scores. I really enjoyed the game when I was just running around destroying stuff. However, I dreaded playing the story missions because the characters were all either boring or annoying, and unlike the last game, this one seemed to take itself seriously. The story was pretty disjointed and uninteresting, and the ending sequence was just insultingly bad. I don't know if the devs ended up rushed near the end or just didn't care, but the ending was just awful and a total waste of time. Additionally, the game had way too many bugs. I played it quite a while after launch, so there's really no excuse for the dozens of crashes and glitches I experienced. All in all, this game is totally worth playing if you just want to run around and blow stuff up, but don't expect to care about anyone or anything, or for a smooth gaming experience. Expand

Not only is JC3 a glitchy nightmare, it lacks innovation and freshness. JC3 is like drinking stale beer, it’s only OK when you’re thirsty, but gets poured down the drain if there are other options.

The PC version of JC3 looks OK. But with all settings cranked up, it doesn’t outshine its console cousins. Since JC3 is horribly optimized across all platforms, no system has an advantage. Only gamers with powerful computers gain anything since their rigs can crank out high frame rates. My aging rig pushes out The Witcher 3 at 60 frames with nearly everything on ultra. JC3 barely delivers 30 frames. Lowering resolution and disabling features doesn’t improve performance. Fortunately, a new ATI driver fixed enough problems to make JC3 playable. Developers at Avalanche are still dragging their feet. There’s no denying JC3 was rushed to market. All platforms experienced game-breaking bugs at launch. However, Avalanche committed a bigger sin: It made a game that isn’t fun. Not even remotely fun.

JC3 is plagued with loading screens. Video scenes are broken apart every few seconds by loading screens. So what should be a funny 5 minute outtake will be interrupted every 20 seconds. This breaks the immersion. Even on my speedy ssd, loading takes 3-5 seconds. I hear this is much worse on console.

Gameplay/combat sucks. Avalanche purposely handicapped Rico so he can’t run or mantle objects. When reviewers called that out, Avalanche said it is forcing players to rely on Rico’s gadgets and vehicles to move around. The outcome impedes fluidity. Yes, there is a ledge there. No, Rico cannot grab it. WTF?! The stilted mobility reminds me of the original Bionic Commando. On a 30 year old platformer, that makes sense. Not in a modern game. Rico can’t jump over a fence or climb a hill. No, no. Rico must grapple it a few feet at a time. I wouldn’t mind the handicaps if grappling worked precisely. But it doesn’t. I inexplicably bounce off helicopters and overshoot cars.

Gunplay is boring because all weapons feel alike. So combat is dull. Sniping isn’t fun because hit detection is moody. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but Star Wars Battlefront has better gunplay. Driving is worse because all vehicles in a class handle identically. All helicopters handle identically. All sports cars handle identically. All tanks handle identically... You get the idea. Also, vehicles just kinda float around. Cars lose control whenever they want.

The developers at Avalanche put little effort into crafting dynamic gameplay. Unfortunately, tedious mobility and mind-numbing combat are just parts of the problem. The lame missions and even lamer progression truly cement JC3 as one of the most unexciting open-world games in recent memory.

After 5 years in the oven, JC3 should’ve had a deep and entertaining story. It’s barely passable. The story missions are a joke. Some last a matter of seconds. Others are just driving from points A to B with zero action. The missions are so unimaginative I’m convinced they were added the last 3 months of development. Side missions are pathetic and rarely happen.

Rewards for exploration are nil. After hours of play, I’ve haven’t experienced random encounters or discovered hidden locations. Except for enemy bases and captured towns, absolutely nothing happens in Medici.

Liberating towns is blah because they all present duplicate challenges. Simply summon a helicopter via airdrop and shoot everything from the air. Chaos—JC3’s selling point— is shallow because all destruction is scripted. Only color coded objects can be destroyed. Helicopters and tanks can take out bridges or antennae relays, but they’re ineffective against plywood huts. Leave the area and come back seconds later, and many “destroyed” objects will have respawned, including bridges. Freeing a town doesn’t change the status quo. NPC’s stand around repeating the same 3 lines. Additional missions would be nice…

The progression system sucks. Players must complete challenge events to unlock upgrades. One challenge requires players to fly Rico thru floating rings using his wing suit. Another requires Rico to blow up as much as he can in 90 seconds. Players must complete a series of similar challenges to unlock upgrades in each class. These challenges were pulled straight from Nintendo’s playbook and don’t belong in a hardcore shoot em up. Superman 64 had the same flying thru rings crap and it’s considered one of the worst games ever made. So that should tell ya’ll something. I skip the challenges because they’re silly. No one buys JC3 to glide thru floating rings.

Overall, JC3 is a shallow experience featuring absent exploration, middling gameplay, and awful missions. Don’t buy it. JC3 is boring, glitchy, and uninspired. It pulls the franchise back 10 years and is definitely one of the worst sandbox games I’ve played lately.

Lots of fun to be had here, but the game seems like it doesn't want you to be on the ground. I feel a huge disconnect when I see Rico doing insane acrobatics and then barely being able to manage a slow jog during a firefight. I really don't see why there isn't a sprint feature. The left stick-click button isn't used at all in this game. This could have easily been a crouch, sprint, or a dodge roll; three features from previous games that desperately needed to return.

The main problem with this game is that it claims to be a sandbox game, but it seems to shoehorn you into the same method of destruction every time. Fly in, shoot a few things, and fly out when the heat gets to be too much, rinse and repeat. Since the left-stick click has no key binding, it leads me to believe that a sprint function existed at some point, but was retroactively removed in order to encourage players to fight a certain way ( I actually read a forum post by one of the devs that suggested this). The DLC wing-suit with the jet boost really goes a long way to bandage the problem, as the game becomes almost 100% focused on aerial combat after it is obtained, making it extremely fun to always fight in the air.

That being said, I would have liked to spend more time on the ground, getting to see more of the beautiful world the devs created up close and personal. Unfortunately, the ground-based combat is so dull that it doesn't really seem to break up the pacing between the aerial combat portions. The game would honestly be a 9 for me if you could sprint. I hate that this was the deciding factor for me, but in the end I couldn't get past Rico's slow running speed. Hopefully Avalanche learns from this and improves the on-foot combat in the future.

I found to be game to be really good control-wise even on PC. The graphic engine is used to great effect, and mechanically the controls are fun and engaging. i found the maps to be pretty but empty of any semblance to reality so the endless shoot-explode-flee trope is just not good after a few hours for me.

I found that it was fun going around the first 2 - 3 hours and just going crazy, but other then that there isn't really anything else to do. You ride your car, make stuff blow and maybe fly now and then. There isn't really any new areas to explore because all the enemy bases and all the cities look the same. Vehicles aren't really worth using either, because of the boring handling of the vehicles. It just didn't feel good when going at high speed and turning and so on.

The story isn't intriguing and the missions are all the same. Basically: Go to that base, destroy everything and suddenly you own the area. It was also supposed to be fun exploding stuff, but it really isn't when you've done it for 20 missions straight. I try to think of it as a Michael Bay movie, it was good at first, but now it's just TOO much. Side missions are all the same, where you take a vehicle and do some stunts. I've played this game for 10 hours and I haven't completed it because it doesn't offer me anything new to complete.

I can say that the graphics are amazing, it looks REALLY good! It's fun to fly with the wing-suit. The destruction is fun at times. Explosions are fun at times.

Do I recommend this game? If the game costs more then 10 euros, NO. Otherwise, buy it. It's a game you can play for 10 hours, put on the shelf and maybe return to 6 months later to play another 10 hours.

A game filled with some of the best highs and most disastrous lows of any recent game i have played.

Upon getting this game on release day i was hyped. Loved just cause 2 with at least 3 playthroughs completed on ps3. Arrived at a new triple A title only to find no SLI support... okay. This meant i was using a 680 instead of a 690. On release day this game was nothing short of unplayable. I just love 30fps medium settings at 1080p,, truly glorious. After waiting for some drivers and a couple of patches I got stuck in, and was having great fun. Stuttering on a 4790k aside, i was having fun.
    So lets talk gameplay.
    - The wingsuit, was a very logical and good edition to Just Cause, it aloud for mobility (without vehicles) to be increased massively, although difficult at first, a lot of fun once mastered.

    - Vehicles feel a lot better than in just cause 2 mostly down to the work of Criterion Games who did a fantastic job, except motorbikes, they are horrendous and easily one of the worst things to drive in any game. Lots of vehicle choice with plenty of detail.

    - Challenge scores and Feats that once set your friends can try and beat, a lot of fun to be had. However many of the challenges are incredibly buggy (especially bomb blasts) this 9 times of 10 stop them from being fun and make them more of a chore and an absolute nuisance.

    - Upgrades, not much needs to be said, they are great edition and really help with a sense of progretion throughout the game, good job.

    - Graphics, oh my. Run in 4k on a Titan X Pascal, its nothing short of stunning. Render distances could be improved but apart from that a true feast for the eyes.

    - Story, no spoilers, is a lot of fun but has dodgy characters and terrible pacing with live rendered cut scenes that most of the time go wrong in some way.

Now, comes for the real problems. Im currently running a 5960x at 3.3ghz and the game doesnt stutter at all even in massive moments of destruction. However it should not be necessary to own a £1000 cpu just to get the game to be smooth. The developers need to get there act together. My game would crash after about 4 hours of play without fault, there are still VRAM leak bugs that havnt been bothered to be fixed. And although I would say compared to most people my game ran well I know a friend with a 6700k and GTX 1080 and the game would flat out refuse to run in full screen without crashing.

However many hours of enjoyment I have had out of this title I cannot overlook the fact that the Devs released a broken game and have refused to fix it.

Overall I would give this game a 5/10

p.s. Dont get me started on the DLCs what a cash grabbing joke, 60% of the time they are absolutely horrendous and the rest of the time they are crashing. They break all of the balance in the game and unless you can get them all for under £5 i wouldn't go anywhere near them.

The map is empty. Arcade-style “challenges” gate gear upgrades – and the challenges are rendered frustrating by poor control schemes. Highly demanding on hardware. Glitches and bugs abound. A poor save system. Denuvo drm. Worth a purchase at a deep discount because there is fun to be had in Just Cause 3, but Just Cause 2 is the better game, despite its age.
Total size on my hard-drive (XL Edition): 60.2 GB

+ Rampage-focused gameplay is back. Feels just like Just Cause 2.
+ Great sound design. Explosions sound awesome.
+ Great emphasis on movement. Wrist grapple use is greatly expanded.
+ Great soundtrack by Henry Jackman.
+ 1080P High (with Medium Shadows and FXAA) gave me between 60-90fps on my Radeon RX 470.
+ Beautiful visuals. Sky, water and smoke are especially good.

+/- Story isn’t the reason to play any Just Cause game, and the one in Just Cause 3 is meh at best. They tried to make it serious, which is antithetical to the Just Cause franchise.

    - The multiple factions premise from Just Cause 2 is gone. Rebels vs. dictator. That’s it.
    - Long load times, even when installed on an SSD.
    - Half the number of locations compared to Just Cause 2. Large swaths of the map are empty.
    - No mini-map.
    - No weapon or vehicle upgrades. Yes, you can “mod” different functions, but Just Cause 2 had five different levels for most items in the black market store. No more.
    - Always online – tied to your Steam login. If the Steam servers go offline (like they do every Tuesday for about 10 minutes for servicing), Just Cause 3 will pause itself and ask if you would like to continue in off-line mode. When the Steam servers come back up, it will log back in.
    - No cloud saves – despite the “always online” feature.
    - Bad save system. Exiting the game returns you to the nearest base next time you start the game. Just Cause 2 had the same issue, but in that game fast-travel simply cost money; in Just Cause 3 the ability to fast-travel is tied to how many flares you have (there is a limited number).
    - Advanced spawns are ridiculous. An endless stream of over-powered enemies. Hijacking a tank is your only hope.
    - Glitchy bug-fest. Many remain unfixed to this day (like the forum-famous “Precision Aim” glitch for the mission “Reach Rosa’s Plane”).
    - Complete arcade-style challenges to earn “gear.” That’s fine, except vehicle, wingsuit and aerial controls are so bad as to make each trial a chore.
    - Needs CPU horsepower. My i5-4590 (Haswell) goes to 95% load (on all four cores) during big explosions.
    - System ram usage averaged around 9.5 GB while playing (I’m running Windows 7 x64). Those with 8GB of ram could run into issues, despite the store page saying 8GB is enough.
    - Rico is Italian now instead of Hispanic? Why?
    - Very little health.
    - Wing-suit controls are awful.
    - Driving controls are sluggish and have rubberband inputs (“Turn left. Turn LEFT!” And now you’ve held the key too long and the car goes off a cliff). Criterion (Burnout series, Need for Speed) supposedly assisted with the driving mechanics, but you’d never know it.

I love running around in a sandbox and watching the destruction engine get to work, but there are just too many negatives to make Just Cause 3 a recommended purchase. Considering the total package, Just Cause 2 is more fun - there’s more to do, the b-movie action story is actually better, it’s a lot less glitchy while still being decent to look at – and it runs great on today’s powerful hardware. It’s a sad declaration on the state of gaming that a game from 8 years ago has so much more to offer than this latest installment. If you want to get Just Cause 3 anyway, wait the XL Edition at a deep discount (75% or more). With Just Cause 2 frequently discounting to $3 during sales while being the better game, there’s no reason to spend more than you have to on Just Cause 3.

After many hours of self-optimising and tweaking; even on the latest Nvidia drivers; this game is of a standard not too dissimilar from that of Arkham Knight. With even Xbox One reporting frame rate drops south of 15fps; it is collectively a disappointing release all round. The amount of stuttering on PC makes this game virtually unplayable as of now and even the developers pathetic short-term laughable fixes of 'running the game as an admin' doesn't work. The last time developers were this clueless was Rocksteady and we all remember the AK saga too well...

Technical woes aside; this game is not as enjoyable as the last outing with a boring story, dreadful characters, terrible mechanics, painfully repetitive and underwhelming missions and a huge but bland landscape. The combat and explosive elements are fun at first but after a few hours it just becomes tiresome. There is also no manual save, checkpoints aren't clear and the intro along with general loading screens are far too long.

It is clear that this game has been released without any due care whatsoever just to grab as many sales as possible before the year end and the quality of the product is in the hands of developers relying on the infamous 'get out of jail' patches to work to any acceptable standard. Avoid until this has been proven to work to the level expected on a variety of setups and even then, don't expect a grand and enjoyable experience. A disappointing end to another dismal year of gaming.

What's the point to use crap DRM like Denuvo to improve initial sales, when you need to wait weeks to fix all the bugs ?
The crack will be out soon and we legit buyers will need to wait more for a patch to fix all the fps loss, bugs, glitch, ecc.

I can't go more than half and hour in-game without crashing to the desktop. And don't get me started on trying to change video resolution in-game. In short, that's a guaranteed crash, every time.

I'm having flashbacks to Just Cause 2, where even now, many, many years after its release, it's still buggy as hell and is plagued by frequent crashing. Based on Avalanche's response to those issues, I think it's pretty clear that they don't give a damn about the stability of their games, and I think it's safe to assume that they will never release the updates necessary to fix the problems with Just Cause 3.

My advice: don't waste your money, unless you enjoy the frustration of crashing every 20-30 minutes and having to wait several more minutes to relaunch the game and actually start playing again. If I could get a refund at this point, I most certainly would.

I want to know who thought that people wanted to fly through rings and practice "jihad-jeeping" for 20 hours straight just to get extra slots for "beacon" tokens, which are now the only way to get supply drops...

The story takes literally two hours to complete unless you have the IQ of a peanut, enemy AI has one mode - "bum rush", and SAM site overuse completely ruins aircraft in the game. You WILL not be able to use a jet or helicopter to take down a base. At all. It must all be done on foot, all without the ability to even so much as CROUCH.

Everything that was fun and awesome about Just Cause 2 is completely MIA here. Absolutely anything fun in this game is either gated behind unfair AI, grindy minigames, or arbitrary "defense systems". Save your money and stay away from this game. I'll start by saying that I was a HUGE fan of the second game in the series. Easily one of the biggest, most immersive games I've ever played. There may be the same amount of square mileage in the game, but somehow the developers managed to make it feel smaller by having less actual settlements (there are only about 100 totalI'll start by saying that I was a HUGE fan of the second game in the series. Easily one of the biggest, most immersive games I've ever played. This game is the exact same size, but don't let that fool you. There may be the same amount of square mileage in the game, but somehow the developers managed to make it feel smaller by having less actual settlements (there are only about 100 total settlements in the game, JC 2 had over 250, with extra chaos objects scattered around the world). Even knowing this, I still was willing to give it a shot. Then I tried literally everything the game had to offer. The races: not much different from Just Cause 2, but the physics of driving makes the cars feel weightless, like little feathers that can get thrown from the road after hitting a simple bump or pebble. Fail. The air races: the plane controls are unresponsive. It feels like you're trying to turn the entire earth on its axis using little more than a finger. Fail. The demolition challenges: half the time you get pigeon-holed into using a single weapon inadequately suited for the task at hand. If you DO manage to find a tank or helicopter that you can use instead, I would refer you to the aforementioned bit about driving and flying. Fail. The boat races: sometimes the amount of time to get 5 stars is more than enough, but other times, you're using every last drop of nitrous to get a 2 star score. Fail. The wingsuit courses: fine control of the wingsuit is difficult, but it's made even more difficult when half the checkpoints are literally 2 feet off the ground (sometimes with rocks or trees spawning inside them) combined with nearly 90 degree turns that cause Rico to go spinning out of control like a dreidel spun by the Incredible Hulk. Fail. These would all be forgivable shortcomings, until you realize that these challenges are also tied into the upgrade system, so if you want better stuff, you're gonna have to grind for it for hours, achieving what feels like very small rewards (i.e. faster drop recharge times- if you have to order anything from a drop, you're just being lazy; literally everything you need can be found in the game world). Upgrades are possible, but if you want the really high end upgrades, like the ability to fold up your wingsuit and grapple into a mountainside instead of faceplanting into it like a bug on a car windshield, prepare to grind. Then there's the actual settlements. Clearing the towns is kind of stupid because you have to take over a police station, requiring you to generate a certain preset amount of chaos, but if you accidentally destroy one of the objects inside before letting your buddies in, good luck reaching that amount without having to steal a military car or two and driving it inside the station solely to blow it up (you don't get credit for chaos outside the base walls). Clearing military settlements is a little fun, but you're constantly dealing with hordes of enemies. This wouldn't be a problem if Rico were as invincible as he was in the second game, but somewhere between then and now he seems to have had his old adamantium wolverine-like bones replaced with cotton candy. It is ridiculously easy to die. Case in point: in JC 2, you could take 2 or 3 solid hits from rocket projectiles fired from tanks, helicopters, etc. Good luck if you get touched by any rocket propelled anything in this game. Rico turns into a big pile 'o dust. That was what made JC 2 so fun. Then we come to the missions. In JC 2, half the fun of the missions was listening to the cutscene dialogue. Every character in the game seemed somewhat self-aware that this was a B action movie and the writing was just terrible, so it all seemed very tongue-in-cheek. This game actually tries to be a good action movie, but it still has the same crappy writing and plot-line. The result is a painful series of cutscenes surrounded by what is actually pretty good mission design, in most cases (with one glaring exception). That exception comes about halfway through the plot. I won't go into plot detail in case you still want to play this train wreck. Suffice to say it involves intercepting a friendly plane and escorting it. But, oh no, there's an aerial ambush planned (see what I mean when I say the plot is crappy). So it logically starts you off in a plane located about 1.5 km away from your escort target, but the planes trying to intercept your ally somehow have engines fit for Apollo shuttles, so they close the distance much quicker. This leaves you with having to snipe the planes from a distance. It would be great if there was a lock-on function, but there isn't. It would be great if the plane you were in had nitrous, but it doesn't. It would be great if the plane controls were a little more responsive, but they aren't. All-in-all, this single mission finally put me over the top with trying to deal with all the little issues and made me say, "Screw it." Learn from my misadventures. Don't buy this game. Expand

The game has a lot of yet unfixed bugs, making some missions impossible or too easy. Balancing is non-existent, sometimes a thing looks impossible while other times I can just stand and tank bullets. The boss fight is unmentionable, too easy and quick, just use a tether on the chopper's nose and the ground and pull. It takes forever to load even though I have an SSD and a GTX 970 SC. The car physics are a joke, when I went to ram a tuk tuk with my truck, I almost stopped and the truck did a wheelie. All in all, an unpolished and unfinished game which's fun only at the beginning Expand

The game is fun, if you like constant stuttering and crashes. I play on PC with an i7, 8GB ram and a GTX 760 and on medium settings im getting less than 30 FPS with stuttering constantly. When my rig can run Fallout 4 on high and 60fps no bother. This needs to be patched ASAP and in doing so i will alter my review. Until then its an unplayable mess.

Released as a complete technical mess, Just Cause 3 is another testament to the corrosion of trust between games industry and customer base, as well as a major disappointment to fans of the first two games that expected a substantial upgrade over the last installment - in many respects, JC3 feels like a significant step back.

Sadly it's just another mediocre game with no effort in making it smart and enjoying. The military bases are all the same, the landscapes are repetitive, weapons are childish. You are supposed not to use your brain during the whole campaign. And as for graphics, it doesn't utilize the power of my GTX 970 because it's very unpolished and rough

If fallout 4 was called by some "as large as an ocean, as shallow as a puddle", but Just Cause 3 totally destroys it in the shallowness department. The areas are beautiful but feel samey, and you will eventually just end up lazily rushing through the world because nothing is interesting enough to hold your attention. Disregarding all of that however and we are given a totally broken mess of a game. It has **** always online DRM mechanics that will make you wait upwards of 2 minutes trying to connect to a server that goes down if someone sneezes at it the wrong way and then will try and reconnect you for no reason right when the action gets good. The game is as buggy as a big bug bugging out in a dune buggy as well. I kept falling through the world and breaking stuff I didn't mean to because they rushed this thing out the door faster than a man making retching noises on your new carpet. Also its poorly optimized and will only get a good framerate if your running it on the god damn Millennium Falcon's navicomputer. TL; DR: GAME IS BUGGY AND SHALLOW AND NOT WORTH 60 DOLLARS. 2) Locked skills - This company has the nasty habit of locking all things behind a skill wall, even simple things like weapon zoom. They actually force you to do OPTIONAL content, which is a terrible approach to gameplay. Side content should not impede with player's ability to have fun in the main game. These requirements just make me bored and feel like work.

    3) Mediocre story - None of the characters are memorable so far. They said the story will be more personal and flushed out. I don't see any of that so far.

    4) Side activities are really boring and phoned in.

    5) Tons of bugs and glitches !

I could hear the sound effects in the background, but couldn't do anything. I fought with it and tried to change the settings, but nothing appeared to work. It managed to get itself into windowed mode, which allowed me to access the game menu and at least try and start it. After trying to skip the initial cut scene the game crashed. After about 45 minutes of this, I submitted a request for a full refund from Steam since they have pretty strict return requirements (less than 2 hours of game play and within 14 days of purchase). The minimized screen accounted for 30 minutes of "game play". I didn't want to accrue too much game time so hence the refund request.

I may try and play it again after the bugs have been fixed, but I don't think I'll be forking over $60 any time soon. I don't mind paying $60 for a new game with some glitches on release day, but I at least expect it to work and give me some enjoyment. I'll probably wait until it drops to $20 or $30 which will probably be about a year or more.

It boasts some great improvements over the previous game of the series, but does not evolve the formula in any significant way. It looks better and lets you glide in a wingsuit, but its scale is not surprising anymore. It lets you unleash wonderful chaos in unscripted skirmishes, but its story missions fail to enrich the experience. All the same it is my kind of game. Just Cause 3 is a monument to excess. It’s Hot Shots. It’s Charlie Chaplin in The Dictator, if Charlie Chaplin had rocket-powered C4 in his boots. It’s that scene in Dr. Strangelove where Slim Pickens rides the nuke into Russia, except...well, no, it’s pretty much exactly that scene on repeat for 25-30 hours.
