    Infinifactory is an excellent little game, and one of the best puzzle games in recent memory. The key to its success is in how it layers a bunch of simple mechanics to build complex and open-ended puzzles.     Infinifactory is an excellent little game, and one of the best puzzle games in recent memory. The key to its success is in how it layers a bunch of simple mechanics to build complex and open-ended puzzles. Each level presents you with something to produce, and space to build a factory that will convert parts into that finished product. You are given plenty of tools, which are doled out at a very deliberate pace as you progress but the game offers you no clear solution. It's not a case of figuring out the order to perform a set of pre-determined actions. Instead you are given free reign to find your own way forward.

    As new tools are introduced it opens up not only more difficult and complex puzzles, but also more and more ways of accomplishing any given task. eventually you will reach a point where every solution you come up with is likely going to be unique to you.

    There is a certain degree of trial and error involved in making a functional factory, but the end result is always satisfying. It feels awesome to get everything working together perfect sync and to see a bunch of blocks get turned into a line of tanks or shuttles. As the game progresses the puzzles get progressively more daunting, often leaving me wondering how I'd even begin to solve them. But every single one feels solvable after some experimentation. As you break things down and try different things, every puzzle will begin to make sense. There will be false starts here and there, but it always feels fair.

    When you do solve a puzzle the game grades you on three things: how quickly you can produce your target output, how large your factory is, and how many blocks you used. This does not actually affect progression, but it does give you an incentive to come back and find new solutions and see how well you can do compared to others. It's a compelling challenge, and it really serves to highlight just how varied the possible solutions are.

    Infinifactory is a puzzle game that does not resemble many other puzzle games other than Spacechem (by the same developer) but it's a shame because the sort of puzzles on offer here are a far better test of your problem solving abilities than its contemporaries. You could easily lose tens or even hundreds of hours to this game finding new and creative ways to solve the many problems it presents you, trying to eek out a little more efficiency. It's a surprisingly compelling loop to get caught in, and I think anyone who likes a good helping of problem solving will get their money's worth from this game.    … Expand

    Pros:
    The game's mechanics are easy to understand.
    Learning how to do tasks that you can use in future levels is fun.
    Puzzles are a good difficulty.

    Cons:
    The game is far too long.
    The story is bad. The game would be better without it.
    It would be nice if you could view how other people did the level better than you.

    Really nice puzzle game from same developer that made Spacechem. Infinifactory is a 3d puzzler where you manipulate objects in 3d space using conveyers, elevators, rotators, pushers, blockers, welders, lasers, demolishers, counters, etc. Essentially you're making an automated assembly line to construct things.

    I'm about 70 hours into the and there's still a final set of missions so    Really nice puzzle game from same developer that made Spacechem.     I'm about 70 hours into the and there's still a final set of missions so there's plenty of content. The game's been great, but I'm beginning to run of motivation and am not sure I'll finish. Puzzles are getting to be pretty complex toward the end with build times per mission becoming increasingly longer.

    This...... this is the ultimate puzzle game! Like many have noted, this is very similar to Spacechem in 3D. However, while Spacechem was very limited on space, Infinifactory, including its "inside" levels, has much more room to come up with dirty solutions.

    This does NOT make it less sophisticated than Spacechem. It just makes it more accessible. I played Spacechem and found it    This...... this is the ultimate puzzle game!     This does NOT make it less sophisticated than Spacechem. It just makes it more accessible. I played Spacechem and found it nearly impossible for my intellect about half way through. Infinifactory, on the other hand, makes it much easier to get a dirty solution to work, and to me, getting ANY solution to work for many of its later puzzles felt like an intellectual triumph.

    While I can't speak to the draw from the Spacechem geniuses out there, I've seen videos of people that make insane contraptions in Infinifactory to be as efficient as possible. I've seen videos of people making computers that can count, display a clock, and even generate cellular automata using solely the mechanics of the game. It seems that with this game, the building block allow for an infinite amount of creative use, not only to solve the puzzles, but to build machines that are more clever and efficient than anyone else. The building blocks allow for basic programming principles, and even a basic playthrough will teach you basic programming skills whether you realize it or not.

    If you enjoy logical puzzles and putting your creativity to the test, this game is an ABSOLUTE MUST HAVE! You could spend at least 40 hours coming up with sloppy solutions to the game's main puzzles, and spend a ridiculous amount of time coming up with solutions to workshop puzzles, and making any of your solutions more efficient. And even though I rarely come close to the upper end of the charts, the efficiency of your solutions are compared to everyone else out there online, so you know how truly eloquent you have made your design.

    Rarely have I played a game that gave me a challenge, that I spent hours trying to solve or complete, only to have to throw it out because of a major oversight on my part, and yet be happy to start from scratch again. And that is the beauty of Infinifactory. Its puzzles are not challenging because the game made them so. The puzzles are challenging because your creativity is stretched to its maximum limits to come up with any of a nearly infinite number of solutions, let alone a good one.

    Do you like puzzles? Do you consider yourself creative and capable of abstract thought? Just get the game. I would have spent $200 to get this game.    … Expand

    And I have been playing computer games since the early days of the text zork series.

    This is a puzzle game in its finest sense. It's not an Adventure game, Arcade game, or Scroller game. It is simply a puzzle that you have to solve and solve at your own leisure without some ridiculous count down timer driving you nuts. It just a long entertaining puzzle game like the ones at MillerWorldInc except Infinifactory is 3D and Very Complex as the levels continue. I've logged over 150 hours solving the puzzles and have Never been disappointed in the least. Can you even imagine software that will give you that much entertainment for 25 bucks or so?
    And addictive? You betcha. I've found myself thinking about possible ways to accomplish a task in the game while not even playing and making notes on napkins, business cards, etc. to try when I got home.
    After 'the witness', the two portals, and the talos principle I thought that my puzzle needs were filled and then I literally stumbled on Infinifactory an all I can say is WOW. Zachtronics hit a home run with this one.
    OH, and this may be important, there isn't a SET solution to any puzzle. YOU create the factory that has to 'build' whatever it is that the level says you have to build. A thousand people may each have a different way to get it done and as long as it works, you move ahead to the next puzzle.
    If you are the kind of person that loves to 'figure things out' than you will probable love this software.
    God knows that I did.

    Oh my god this game is addictive fun. Was bing playing the game in the holidays. The puzzles don't repeat, though some design patterns repeat over the time (naturally). However, the problems presented are fair and can mostly be solved in different ways. The learning curve is moderate and steady.
    I really like those statistics/histogram leaderboards. It really got me diving into the    Oh my god this game is addictive fun. Was bing playing the game in the holidays. The puzzles don't repeat, though some design patterns repeat over the time (naturally). However, the problems presented are fair and can mostly be solved in different ways. The learning curve is moderate and steady.
    I really like those statistics/histogram leaderboards. It really got me diving into the solution for a puzzle already solved and optimize.

    There is a funny story, which somewhat is emphasized, but never gets into your way. Overall the graphical design, atmosphere and esp. the soundtracks are well done and appealing.

    I'd consider the controls a bit squishy and a bit to inaccurate for an ego shooter, but are completely satisfying for an puzzle game.
    I missed some advanced controls like breakpoints (like and breakpoint sensor) or stepping through single cycles.
    However the controls as implemented are perfectly good for solving every problem.

    This game is a ton of fun, providing a lot of creative freedom for something that advertises itself as a puzzle game. I felt a ton of autonomy in the design of my factories, so each puzzle felt like a unique individual experience as I learned the mechanisms by which to best optimize my own solutions. That being said, the game suffers pretty severely from being a three-dimensional game; IThis game is a ton of fun, providing a lot of creative freedom for something that advertises itself as a puzzle game. I felt a ton of autonomy in the design of my factories, so each puzzle felt like a unique individual experience as I learned the mechanisms by which to best optimize my own solutions. That being said, the game suffers pretty severely from being a three-dimensional game; I feel as if the extent to which altitude comes into any sort of meaningful consideration in the game is pretty low, yet it adds a lot of menial clicking around to incorporate into solution designs. In that respect, this game is definitely a super slow burner; very little time is spent "designing" compared to the very high amount of time required for "implementation". This in itself isn't terrible if there is a degree of fun or pleasure in the implementation process, but for me it was not a core appeal.
    The setting is mildly depressing and the soundtrack is not especially commendable, but the game is easy on the eyes nevertheless. It feels well rounded all things considered. Overall, I had a lot of fun with Infinifactory, more than enough to make up for the times it tested my patience.    … Expand

    Absolutely amazing game. I have never played any other game with puzzles that took so long to figure out and solve, but this game kept me compelled to solve each one of them. Trial and error for puzzles is usually not a good thing, but in this one it's perfect.
    One of the best games I have ever played. Couldn't recommend it enough.

    This sense of discovery is enhanced dramatically via a graph system, too, a means by which you are scored on the total number of blocks you’ve used, the footprint or size of the factory itself and the number of cycles you have to run through to create ten of your required object.
