Oh, well, let's start :)
I bought "Infected: The Twin Vaccine Collector's Edition" from Steam for about 8 (at discount price).
It's a pretty good adventure/point-and-click game:
- setting and characters are "borrowed" from real photos, then recreated in 2/3D (there is also a nice "extra" video, created by the developers, that show how they done most of the work). If I have to give an example of the final result, I think is somewhere between a Quantic Dream game (in small, of course) and a classic adventure.
- the story is nicely developed. Don't expect something too brilliant, but yes, I say pretty enjoyable.
- the game seems free to bugs and errors. I played it on a pretty damn machine and on Windows 7, I haven't any problems.
- the atmosphere is gloomy and dark, but do not lead, ever, in an excessive level of violence. It is not a game I reccomend for children, though.
- it's a really "special" and singular game. I liked it, also for the courage shown by the developers in making a game of this type.
- puzzles and enigmas are simple, but, for the most, clever and pleasing.
The problems? I don't really know well the story about the distribution of this game, but there are some clear problems.
- the game is short! I wouldn't say that is too short, because is enjoyable, as I already said, and I don't feel to be "cheated", but the main story (there is also bonus chapter) lasts from 2 to 4 hours of game... It's not much, but I think that the (very small) size of the developer and the difficulties in developing such a particular product have left any other choice.
- the price is pretty high for a game of this length, but I see this as a"price" to pay to play a different product, in better, from the average of this kind. I prefer to spend more for a game like this, than the same price for an absolutely trivial one (and there are many...).
Closing, for me this is a clear 8, I recommend to try it... and also support an interesting team of developers.… Expand
