Comparing with other battle-royale games, Hyper Scape is really fast. But at the end of the day, it doesn't unique and fun enough to impress me.

Hyper Scape is an absolutely fine game that I think would have been huge if it would have come out earlier. It does a lot of things right and not much overly wrong. Instead, it suffers from an overwhelming sense of familiarity that doesn’t present much of a reason for people to play it over more established games in the genre. Even in the most crowded fields, there’s always room for another title to come and carve out a niche, but I don’t see many compelling arguments to jump ship for Hyper Scape.

Hyper Scape manages to perfectly combine the past and the future of online shooters. The Battle Royale genre has a new, fierce and extremely fun competitor.

Hyper Scape proposes some good ideas within its genre. The fusion of weapons and hacks works really well and makes exploration make sense within the beautiful city of Neo Arcadia. Its fast-paced action and scenes rich in verticality and hot spots are undoubtedly its greatest attractions. Rotating game modes invite the community to return and others may be drawn to its 'ghost mode' resuscitation and assist system. However, those who come from other similar experiences may not feel completely linked to Ubisoft's proposal, of which only time and its seasons will be able to tell if it is a success or not.

We will keep an eye on how Hyper Scape evolves, but the first impression has not been entirely good even when it has some interesting, fresh and original ideas that can push the genre forward.

Randomness is key to battle royale games, but Hyper Scape leans a little too much into it. The game has solid weapons and hero-like Hack abilities, but you're at the mercy of being lucky enough to get what you need to have a higher chance of winning. The battleground doesn't help in this regard, since it's difficult to know where you're going and make a plan about where to loot next without stopping to open the map. At least the individual moments in Hyper Scape are fun. A match could be ruined by the randomness working against you, but that doesn't stop moments like turning into a ball and trying to out bounce three enemy balls any less fun in how ridiculously silly it is.

Hyper Scape is inoffensive and might be the right battle-royale choice for you, depending on your stream engagement. However, it doesn’t push hard enough on any one of its differentiators, and it ends up struggling to find a sense of itself in a genre with oodles of established choices. Toes dipped into shallow water may pay off for a deep water swim in the future, but Hyper Scape holds itself back from really trying to shake things up.

Although the result of this production process is a solid and fun experience, it is clear that not all the pieces of Hyper Scape's playful mosaic have yet found their ideal place.

Ubisoft promises Hyper Scape will shape "the future of battle royale," but as it stands, it's not as fun as it could be. Wonky weapon balancing and floaty combat steal the game's momentum and stop it from being a stand out in its genre.

Another battle royale, sure, but a very good one.

Pleasant to play and easy to handle, it offers pleasant confrontations, but which struggle to provide the thrill of survival.

We've seen Ubisoft snatch victory from the jaws of "somewhat underwhelming" before: maybe they can do it again.

Hyper Scape is a fast-paced, futuristic Battle Royale that brings a lot of new ideas but struggles to properly execute them. [Beta Review Score = 50]

Very enjoyable gameplay with friends. It is less so when I am playing solo. I find it difficult to win, but that is what makes it satisfyingVery enjoyable gameplay with friends. It is less so when I am playing solo. I find it difficult to win, but that is what makes it satisfying when you do win.

Graphics are not extraordinary, but not bad.

I think movement in this game is where is shines. It is fluid and allows for faster-paced combat. You are able to flee from enemies if you are fast and slick enough.

There are some cheesy plays in the beta you could do that made us have an advantage over others.

I encountered numerous problems opening the game in the beta.

The resurrection mechanic I find is really cool and fresh compared to other battle royale takes on rezzing teammates.

The twitch interaction is great to switch things up. It isn't too game changing, but it isn't totally useless when in combat. The storm concept is really cool and not a fun place to be in. The abilities are great and diverse. I love that you can put repetitive loot finds to use to upgrade weapons and abilities. The UI isn't the best in my opinion. The current roster of characters are not memorable. The HUD is pretty good and minimal.
