    Hogwarts Legacy has the same structure that you have seen in any other modern open world game, but at the same time it fills you with memories from the distant past ... It may not do anything fundamentally new compared to these games, but it there is something they lack: magic.

    This is the game we all wanted when stepping into the world of Harry Potter. I recommend that you ensure you have the latest drivers before playing the game, the 8/2 update for Nvidia fixed basically all of my stuttering issues now playing at a nice smooth 60 FPS in Ultra.

    The game plays great for me. It's a typical open-world game like Skyrim etc. The voice acting is great for the main characters. It takes some getting used to but its a solid-built game and you can tell the makers really cared about making Hogwarts great.

    I am an avid RPG enthusiast. I spend hundreds and hundreds of hours in every title I chose to play. I dive deeply into mechanics, lore, and gameplay to understand an RPG to its DNA. Just from my steam list alone, I can attribute well over 10,000 hours playing just RPG games since I first found Mass Effect and fell in love with the RPG genre.

    With that said, you can believe me when I say    I am an avid RPG enthusiast. I spend hundreds and hundreds of hours in every title I chose to play. I dive deeply into mechanics, lore, and gameplay to understand an RPG to its DNA. Just from my steam list alone, I can attribute well over 10,000 hours playing just RPG games since I first found Mass Effect and fell in love with the RPG genre.

    With that said, you can believe me when I say that this game is easily one of the VERY best RPG experiences I have ever had. From the combat to the way it immerses you in the Wizarding World through relationships and stories, this game nails it.

    It is not perfect, but it is very close.

    Howgart's Legacy keeps you moving by always giving you new things to see and do (something many open-world games struggle to do these days,) and it does it all with that flare and style we loved from the Harry Potter movies. In my 35 hours so far, I have not felt the game become stale even once! It is always surprising me and teaching me new things. The story can look generic from the outside, but experiencing it with its nuances does so much to elevate what is essentially a very tropic story, to almost masterpiece levels of presentation.

    However, I want to be honest and so we have to talk about the few issues that the game does have. It IS plagued with some performance issues, but nothing that we haven't seen on a launch title before. Some frame rate issues and poorly implemented ray trancing seem to be the worse issues so far. I have also seen some other graphical anomalies that seem to be solved with a simple reset, such as the save image becoming glitchy looking when it appears. As I'm writing the game is patching with the day one patch so we might see this fixed.    … Expand

    this game is something special to wizarding fans and im just in love with this game, every enemy feels different with what spells are weaker to them and then the amor upgrades are just as useful along with potions, very interesting charecters that u can connect with. this game is a dream come true.

    Excellent game, perfect if you are a Harry Potter fan. I personally havent had any performance issues, so do bear that in mind if you're going to buy. However, for me its a 10/10. I really hope to see some DLC and a sequel.

    The game is very well made and has stayed faithful to the whole Wizarding World universe and lore. The world is stunning and the music and soundtrack are great and immersive. Some of the quests and puzzles were a bit easy and bland and does get repetitive at later stages. The main storyline is a bit short and weak while one of the side mission storylines is amazing. Developers spent a lot of time creating the game and weren't able to implement all the features they wanted in the game. I would rather have them cut back on the Merlin Trials, Demiguise Statues, and Dungeons and spent more time on a morality system and companion system. But where the game lacks, it makes up in other areas. Exploring the world really makes you feel like you're in the Harry Potter universe, especially inside Hogwarts Castle and Hogsmeade. I spent a lot of time just running and flying around and immersing myself in all the game had to offer. The game does quite a good job of making you feel like an actual student at Hogwarts. Attending classes was quite fun and allowed for your character to learn new spells. The combat system is amazing and fun but it lacks difficulty even on hard settings.

    Performance-wise, some gamers have had issues with the game, whether it's framerate issues, performance issues, or just outright game-breaking bugs, I was one of the fortunate ones that had no such issues. I was able to run the game on high settings at 1080p (on a laptop with 3050Ti, 16 GB RAM) and averaged 70-80FPS with a maximum of 120fps and a minimum of 34fps (heavy fog/battle arena). Apart from a bug, one of the field pages not registering correctly, I haven't had any other bugs in the game that I have noticed or come across.

    Overall the game has been amazing and I have just completed my first playthrough as a Gryffindor and have spent just over 120 hours and will still put in a few more to get to the 100% mark. I will be doing other playthroughs as different characters from other houses, while I await for more content to be added to the game. For a developer that has never made a AAA open-world RPG, they have done quite a good job at making a game that gamers of all ages and experiences, could pick up and play without too much difficulty. I can't wait to see how they will take in all the criticism and recommendations for the game and improve on it in the future, with DLC and sequels. But I have high hopes for them and can't wait for what they have planned in the future.    … Expand

    Playing it on a 1066-TI because I'm vising family and that's what they have. I normally game on a 3080 12GB. Playing on medium settings with low and slow memory, the game is still delightful. Its an open world game, that's also contained. Its a game that will work well with past gen and new gen tech.     This game triggers the purple-haired mentally unstable freaks and degenerates at certain forum that cannot be named.
    All the more reason to rate it 10. The game is absolutely incredible.

    Fantastic game, not perfect, but quite close. A generously sized open world with a tonne of detail, rich visuals and design. Good character customization and clothing/gear. Decent dialog, story and fan service. Good music and SFX, a lot of collectibles which aren't completely dull and add something (like your customizable room of requirement) plus animal riding and beast taming reminiscentFantastic game, not perfect, but quite close.     Its basically everything HP fan might want from a game and then some more. Not without flaws, but really they don't matter much. Keep in mind that any review that gives it ultra low score is very likely to be written because of political ideological reasons and has nothing to do with the quality of the game itself.

Очень много лора, который узнавать довольно интересно, и его подача хооошо обставлена. Музыка тоже не подкачала, под стать визуалу. По техническим нюансам отмечу лишь, что оптимизация на пк не очень хорошая, дажеХорошая игра, созданная для фанатов Поттерианы. Хогвартс, Хогсмид и их окркстности выполнены восхитительно, именно так как в фильмах и как ты себе это представлял после книг. Очень много лора, который узнавать довольно интересно, и его подача хооошо обставлена. Музыка тоже не подкачала, под стать визуалу. По техническим нюансам отмечу лишь, что оптимизация на пк не очень хорошая, даже после патчей и с длсс 3 фпс дропается местами сильно, хотя и не критично, багов заметил очень мало. Боевая система оригинальная, мне понрааилась, жонглировать заклинаниями, проворачивая различные комбо, весел, зрелищно и эффективно. А вот исследовательская часть гецмплея неоднозначная: есть интересные находки с загадками, исследованием локаций и прокачкой, но очень много активностей на карте, которые особо профита не принесут, только косметику и чутка опыта. Сами активности увлекательны только поначалу, дальше они будут повторяться и очень редко оригинальные попадаются. Потому пылесосить карту спустя некоторое время надоедает и становится не профитно. Хотя порой нет-нет, и сворачивал в очередной данж, тут ничего не поделаю)
    В целом, игрой доволен, не зря потратил на нее около 70 часов.    … Expand

Hogwarts itself is fun and massive, but the open world begins to get tedious and repetitive after a while. Plot is okay, nothing special. The additions of a trans character, a gay married couple, and an abundance of non-white characters make no sense given the time and place of the setting. No romance options, presumably in part because the characters are "underage." Silly and disappointing. Some stuttering issues on PC but it was only mildly irritating to me.     Love the game so far, the music, the acting, the many places you can explore, sure the open world is a bit barren but this isnt new york city, the combat is simple yet satisfying, I only wish there where more options for character customization like a height slider, or more options in general, I hope this game will be modeable, cant wait to see more.

    + engaging story and missions, you will find it hard to disconnect.
    +Once you've taken off, you'll be able to enjoy the graphics riding a broomstick or a legendary animal

    - The character editor is a bit poor, they could have done better

    Great game, despite what certain...humans tried to tell us. Flashy, fluid combat, lovely characters and story, but the real selling point is the immersion. You WILL be lost in the world, forgetting your original goal, just wandering in a beautiful world.

    Overall a passionate love letter to the work of Rowling. It's rare nowadays.

Now this game has a Metacritic score of 8.5 on PC and 9.1 on PS5. This taught me that averange people are not objective but rather fanatic and fanboy.     For me this game is definitely a YES, buy this game. BUT, im playing on a PC and i can say that the game is pretty unstable and bad optimized and it has lacks of performance everywhere. I have a razer laptop with Nvidia 3060/I7 10750/16 of Ram.
    Im pretty sick of games that requires NASA PC to run well just because they aren't optimized good (BTW the graphic of the game is good but not WOW. It's just slightly better then The Witcher 3).

    Other cons of the game are:
    - Lacks of variety aspect of NPC students.
    - Poor idle animations of NPC.
    - NPC are a bit boring inside Hogwarts.
    - Poor character customization at the game start.
    - Ambient occlusion is bad.
    - In italian the voice of my character is weird and quite robotic.
    - There isn't Quiddich hehe.

    Pro:
    - The world of harry potter is faithfully reproduced and is really impressive.
    - Fantastic general mood and feedback.
    - OST is great and it has perfect Harry Potter vibes.
    - Tons of funny stuff to do, enigma and secrets.
    - Levelling system. I like the fact that levelling the character is also strongly tied to collecting items, so you're encouraged to searching (and is really fun)
    - Combat system really good and fun (there is roll like Dark Souls hehe).
    - Quests are not boring.
    - Particle effects.
    - Large amount of clothing customization.
    - Large amount of collectibles.

    Im sure there are more pro and cons in the game but i didn't played enough yet to judge but in general the game is awesome. To be honest i would like to put a thumbs down untill they will fix performances (and because people are fanatics) but, has you can see pro are much much more important than cons. I want to trust developers that they will fix the problems because they did good job, so i will put a thumbs up!    … Expand

    Great graphics and immersive world. This is the best game I have played in my entire life. Im glad the developers are Harry Potter fans and did this game with knowledge and love.

    So far, Hogwarts Legacy has been an amazing adventure. I'm in love with the details, the soundtrack, references, the world in general.
    I just hope they fix as soon as possible the performance issue on PC.

    Me encanta el juego, hasta el momento me ha parecido lo mejor que he jugado. El mundo y las personas son increíbles, y he disfrutado cada batalla. Lo único que cuestionaría es un poco mejor de rendimiento, tengo una rtx 3060 ti y a veces hay bajones de fps.

    So far an 8/10 Game
    RTX 3090 often struggles giving constant fps.
    -2 Points due to bad pc optimization but amazing graphics.
    Story is about avarage but never boring.
    Other than that its a great game and i would highly recommend this game after some updates.
    In the end, Very nice RPG Not only for Harry Potter fans.
    +2 Points since day 1 patch fixed the fps.

    This game is what potter fans waited for about years and in addition it’s one of the best ARPGs I played in a while. To me this game could be on the same level as an Elden Ring (which means also far above any Elder Scrolls title).
    Currently I only have sone minor technical issues and the Menu needs some tweaks. For Example:    Played about 10 hours now and there is still so much to explore!
    This game is what potter fans waited for about years and in addition it’s one of the best ARPGs I played in a while. To me this game could be on the same level as an Elden Ring (which means also far above any Elder Scrolls title).

    Currently I only have sone minor technical issues and the Menu needs some tweaks.

    Absolutely Brilliant!! The game is a total blast! This studio did an AMAZING job and look forward to more games they may bring out! I run a pretty decent pc and the game runs perfect. Looks great and runs smooth on my system at 4k ULTRA Graphics and I have yet to run into a single bug 20 hours in! The characters are a lot of fun including the little ones for side quests(which are actuallyAbsolutely Brilliant!! The game is a total blast! The NPC's are very good for modern video-game standards but they will never be close to the level of detail that are in the books.     I had never watched one minute of Harry Potter or had much interest, until the woke mob started "Reeeeeeeeeeeee"ing about it.
    Thanks to them, I started watching videos about this game and it looked interesting so I bought the Deluxe version.

I don’t understand why people are so indignant about the optimization, because everything was fine on my RX580 almost all the time at the highest settings that I could do (there were maximum drawdowns when using lumos when performing tests with a mirror, but I think this is due to the fact that most likely a separate room is generated in the mirror + lumos generates light).… Expand

    If you would have shown any Harry Potter fan this game in 2001 their head would have exploded. Strictly looking at this game in it's own and not comparing it to similar titles, this is the best Harry Potter experience to ever come to PC. If you just focus on the game on it's own merits and don't bring politics into it, it provides a very magical experience.

    Classes are FUN! I wish we were able to attend more classes, or that they’d be more consistent time wise.

    The map is huge, with a lot of exploration. You can unlock landmarks regarding location, enemies, beasts etc. by completing quests or just using a simple revealing spell.

    The visuals are beautiful, but the performance is not quite up to the game overall quality. In my case, my pc is between the minimum and recommended specs. I believe they’ll release a path to reparo and optimize the gameplay. Yet, even with hiccups and slight FPS drops, I give this game a 9.5/10.    … Expand

    The first thing is that you can get soft locked easily. There is a possibility to get a checkpoint right in front of a enemy that will always attack you immediately after you load the save.

    The game is not without problems, there are bugs and glitches and it seems that a lot of people have problems running the game smoothly.

I just wish I could make my character more pale to match my skin tone and maybe some beard options, yes I already had beard with 15, also more male hairstyles. But I’m still giving it a 10 because those are just personal cosmetic reasons. The rest of the game is pleasing meI have been enjoying the game since the first minute of the early access and I can assure you it won’t disappoint.     Comfort, atmosphere, nice graphics, unobtrusive gameplay. A year ago I got 100% of achievements in Elden Ring, here and now I am resting.
    Memory leaks and FPS drops in cutscenes are frustrating.

    Hogwarts Legacy on PC is absolutely beautiful. It has terrific graphics performance, mechanics, voice acting, story, and music. So far, I have experienced very few glitches, save an occasional lag. The care and passion that went into its production is obvious. In my opinion Hogwarts Legacy is a masterpiece!

    Hogwarts Legacy is simply the best Harry Potter game ever released, and even someone who is non-binary in real life can see how much value this game has, and even has albeit token inclusion it still doesn't negative the stain of JKRs opinions, but this is about video games and not politics, and we should stick to the task at hand.

    Gameplay is summed up in one word, magic because as per typical Harry Potter style, you learn magical attacks and defense as you progress through the story and the combat feels natural and fun, with many different combos and special attacks to make for a thrilling combat system with a loot system similar to Assassin's Creed Odyssey, gear appearance can be changed anytime and that provides for a good character customization, it isn't perfect but it works.

    Sound and graphics are both excellent, Honestly I feel like Avalanche's previous title releases have been holding back this studio because Hogwarts Legacy clearly shows what this developer can do. The game does have a few minor sound bugs though such as walking sound effects disappearing so you are walking in complete silence, and sometimes your voice goes very robotic in nature. The bigger issues are related to performance with significant frame rate drops in certain places and a few minor bugs mostly related to being full of items and opening a chest making you lose the item forever but so far nothing truly gamebreaking as of writing this review.

    Overall, Hogwarts Legacy is a brilliant game that Harry Potter fans deserve, ignoring the bold claims of antisemitism and trans issues aside, Hogwarts Legacy is faithful to the franchise even down to the little details, plenty of puzzle elements and a morass of collectable items and side quests to keep everyone busy, I would say a contender for game of the year for sure.    … Expand

    I feel transported back to my childhood, the graphics are stunning and create a good atmosphere. So far I haven't had any technical problems or bugs. However, I also play on a powerful computer. The main quest and side quest are well designed for an open world game and lead you to mystical places. It's been a long time since I've had a game I've looked forward to so much after work.

I am totally not familiar with Harry Potter movies but enjoying the game for its atmosphere. Could use a small PC fix for performance though but its not as broken as Forspoken, that's for sure.
