    Very disappointed with the PC performance of the game, lags too much in Hogwarts, I've had this kind of issue with a lot of other Unreal Engine game for some reason and the situation is the same her as well.

    Not visually impressive these days, uninteresting story. Repetitive gameplay, combat is the most mid thing ever to exist and by buying it you’re giving money to someone that hates the existence of transgender people… give it a pass

    I have technical difficulties with my Ryzen5 5600 and a 6800XT on WQHD. Not only that depending on the location in the open world and also in cut scenes, there are blatant frame drops, which ensure that you fall below 30FPS. But also that for unexplained reasons now and then the entire PC goes out and does not boot properly when restarting, but the graphics card also hangs.

    Another open world collect-athon with no emotion. All the criticism towards this game seems to be oriented towards the main protaonist low-energy soulless performance. So let me point out another huge fault that somehow avoided the attention of the intellect of most of the players.

    The dialogues. I could not tell you how blank it is. No one seems to care about anything. Someone dies, let's just forget about that in a second. You just experienced a life threatening situation... that must've been awful, how's your tea by the way? Every character acts as non-offensive as possible, to the extent that their actions or reactions make no sense, which makes up for the most flat and boring dialogues I've ever seen in a game. And let me tell you, this time even the bad guys are flat as a plank. In the mind of Moira Squier a bad person means simply a rude jerk.

    Gameplay is ok. A formula that has been here since skyrim, slightly twisted to fit the setting. The game is a looker and a nice virtual tour for the fans of the films. Yet, it will kill off the rest of your brain cells in the proicess.    … Expand

    after 30 hours in the game I saw 0 interesting quests or characters (really, among all the npc's only sebastian and ominis have some kind of personality - all others are just blank talking mouths)
    castle is too small - but still looks good - although it feels, same as the whole map, so dead and empty... in the night you won't see anyone in the castle. no prefects,    boring, unimaginative

    exploration is very boring, it's all the same: hundreds of tiny treasure caves, but there's only ~5 puzzles you need to solve to get the reward and they are pretty easy
    you have so little enemies... it's so easy to defeat them even on very hard settings, spells are fun tho - almost the only good part about this game, but you can defeat every enemy with 2-3 spells, again, the game is to easy

    Had potential. Ultimately it is just a **** console port. Controls are useless. PC handicapped by console gamepad schemes. Spell actions bars are a joke. 4 slots and toggle bars by mousewheel? and the extra bars had to be unlocked by talents. Most other abilities are tucked into action wheels that respond slowly. come on.. Movement is clunky. dont get me started on broom.. Menus areHad potential. Ultimately it is just a **** console port.     I'm rating low because the developers screwed many of us over with delaying release for old gen consoles. It's completely ruined my experience with this game and I have cancelled my pre order. Not only was the game spoiled for me before I could get a copy, but I looked like an idiot when I showed up happy in line for my copy, only to be told I'd have to wait 2 months, thanks for punishingI'm rating low because the developers screwed many of us over with delaying release for old gen consoles. But I can tell you that I would play it for a week straight with no sleep or food (piss jug required). Directions weren't clear I did end up with the controller in my mouth a few times.     It is a modern open-world, mission-based game, no more and no less than that, and ultimately it's a far cry from capturing the same magic that the first couple of open-world Harry Potter games did.

    And to top it all off, as I hope we all know at this point, spending any money on this game, even when it's reduced, gives a cut of that money to the world's most prominent transphobe, so all-in-all, not worth it.    … Expand

    not perfect, but still an excellent game to play through. Too bad an absolutely abhorrent community used the lives of people who have nothing to do with the game in order to attack anyone that enjoyed this game

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I've come back to this rating after trying at it again. I regret doing so. It is a very bad game filled with very bad characters and quests. I really do not understand why people think it is so good. If it was possible, I would score this game negatively. Lots of bugs. A very boring start where you literally go to school and sit through dull and overly eager lessons. Massive and very unnecessary woke liberal assault at certain points of the game (some things JK Rowling is on record being opposed to and its her world. She made this world and whether you like her writing or opinions or not, changing somebody else's art is plain wrong). Quests are classic fetch and tell somebody about it stuff. Why is the only way to get xp by completing certain quests?!?! Not killing anything or learning new things. This removes so much interest and makes things more linear, a stupid decision. Limited inventory and itemisation so far, this feels rushed and incomplete. So many options that could have existed were lost. Why is everybody kind of nice? You can't become a power hungry crazy guy at all and I thought that was one of the things about RPGs. Be good, bad or indifferent is a key aspect. Why are there not gangs in Hogwarts? Groups of people who team up as friendships and have rival friendships? Why is bullying apparently normal and you can't do anything about it apart from fetch the bullied kids silly marbles? Why not have an option to go and have a little chat with the older kids of mistreat her. OR join them?!? Where is the gore? So much to complain about and for that much money it's really not good. I am not a HP fan, didn't really like the books, read a third of one and then put it down. Didn't enjoy the films much either. What I do like is RPGs and what I do respect is the original artist.     It's really terrible. I don't understand why this piece of crap has so high rating. After 60+ hours of playing it was just boring, super repetitive, without any challenge at all and very weak plot. Not to mention the obligatory 2023 agenda. It seems like people have forgotten what really good games used to be like and this low quality games already seem awesome to them.

Franchement, je ne vois en rien qui soit similaire à la saga harry potter, ça fait vieux monde, rpg comme les autres, pas de quidditch, 0 joie de vivre, grosse déception, 5eme année mon cul ouais, je m'attendais à une bonne 1ere année bien festif avec de la magie constamment qui nous entourent mais là, y'a vraiment rien et le personnage principal est Dieu lui-même et fais ce qu'il veut du monde. nan mais wtf ?

    The only good thing I can say about it is the setting, very nice and curated. It does take you back to old memories and hogwarts has never been so detailed. That said the real game can be described by one word: BORING.

    -Most of the time is spent reaching some point, following a track on your mini-map. Then you reach the point and get 2 minutes cutscene, perhaps some boring assignment or some heavily guided search-and-discover session, and then back to following the mini map track.
    -The game is full of cutscenes and dialogues but they all feels uninspired at best. Really why couln't they hire decent writers?
    -Most secondary missions are so boring they hurt.
    -Puzzles sections are sometimes ok, sometimes so obvious! And of course if you don't solve them in 1 minute the main character will say something that tells you what to do so no brain required at all.
    -Combat is so and so. It is challenging and perhaps someone will like it.

    After 5 to 6 hours I don't find myself wanting to play anymore. The world is massive and curated but I don't want to visit it because there is nothing interesting to do.    … Expand

    The success of Hogwarts Legacy clearly shows that good sales and warm feedback from players are ensured not so much by the gameplay thought out to the smallest detail but by carefully reproducing the right atmosphere. But this is already a subtle moment, akin to real magic, and here the nameless developers of Avalanche Software succeeded.

    Hogwarts Legacy is an altogether excellent port of Wizarding World to PC screens. It proudly belongs to the Young Adult fiction genre, which may make immersion difficult for older gamers.
