I wish they had released Sapienza as the first episode to showcase how good this game can be (and hopefully will continue to).

Great massive map with plenty of things going on. The artists have done a fantastic job with the map. I have a lot of flashbacks to Blood Money. There are still some graphical and performance issues to iron out but it's running pretty well for me.

    Definitely worth it.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. An excellent episode to the Hitman game with so much exploration and ways to assassinate. My first run on Sapienza was a silent assassin suit only and boy was that hard with cards going paths you would not expect or even assassination attempts such as the telescope.
Overall this episode is gorgeous with its scenery, environment and game play but once again I rate this game less because of the fact that I had to wait a month after release

Many people desepisodic format. And while it may look cheap and tiresome, I think its perfiect for HITMAN.
Why? Becuase players should feel at least a little bit of role playing... They shlould assume that 47 does not receive his contracts more often than once in a month. Moreover, there is plenty of content you should play with while waiting until next episode. Developers wanted you to

    Hitman Sapienza
    Potential greatness interrupted
Hitman Episode 2 takes place in Italy, you’re tasked once again with taking out 2 targets and you have plenty of opportunities to do so… You can poison a meal and wait for it to be served... Plant an explosive golf ball and wait for it to be teed off… get involved with an affair… among many other things this map in particular is

Hitman Episode 2 takes place in Italy,

get involved with an affair… among many other things
this map in particular is fairly impressive compared to episode 1 and in the intro...
this almost feels like an entire town, with meat shops. And ice cream parlors...
    a golf course...
    a cemetery...
and an underground lab, which holds your primary objective of destroying a dna specific virus
That being said, I found this map to be much more lifeless compared to Paris…
    while the world if full,
it doesn’t really feel like anything is truly going on around you…
your targets are just out in the world.. Either hunt them down or lure them to you…
This is also the first time I played through an episode on online mode and ran into an issue that many will find frustrating...
While playing, the game got disconnected...
this disconnection forced me back to the main menu to continue...
no big deal, I’ll just hop right back in and finish it offline right?
    Wrong
you can’t play a file that was saved online while you play offline...
so I had to pause my downloads and connect back in to finish this level…
And this sucks because you’re practically punished for not playing online, because online play is the only way to level up your character and unlock new starting locations and weapons during the prep stage…
Another new flaw highlighted for me is the story…
I completely forgot what was going on and lost all interest and connection to the story thanks to decision to release this game episodically...
one could argue that telltale games does a great job at getting away with this, and I would argue back, that no.. They don’t
Episodic releases kill urgency and care unless the episodes are somewhat self-contained much like the walking dead season 1 episodes... rather than a small chunk of an overarching story like we see here
much like every other episodic game
While Hitman Sapienza is gorgeous and full of new things for you to do, and opportunities to play with…
This episodic nonsense is getting in the way of what could potentially be an awesome story…
    I give Hitman Sapienza
    a 7.5/10

The piecemeal, episodic release format ruined this game for me. If they release titles like this in the future, I won't buy them. Go screw yourselves, Square Enix..

In short, best Hitman level ever. I wasn't too impressed with Paris, but Sapienza is something else. Replay value is massive. Game still has some performance issues, optimization isn't great.

Flattening and streamlining (not in a good way) Hitman even more. Every route you can take, was planted there. There is no place for your own thoughts... I miss first game.

Who is giving this a low rating? This level is absolutely amazing. It might be the best Hitman level released to date. Paris was awesome, but this is something else.

Better than the first episode: The map is much bigger and the places are much more different and diverse than each other. There are many disguises to find out, many challenges to complete, and 3 targets with a bunch of different and fun opportunities to neutralize. And if you would like more challenge, try to do opportunities on your own with no help from the game.

    Two faults I found:

Two faults I found: 1) No moving cars and motorcycles in the roads, which diminishes the realism a little bit .
    2) some annoying but not too much bugs.

So enjoy this episode, and stop complaining about the episodic format because there is a plenty of content in every episode

Probably the best episode from Hitman 2016. The map is huge, it's filled with secrets spots and secret weapons. Finding the explosive golf ball made my day.

Stunning visuals and well designed level. That's the episode that we were waiting. The variety of solutions for the game-play it's very interesting plus all the side challenges make it more fun to replay! Very recommended!

If you value single player experience above all, Sapienza will leave you dissatisfied. [07/2016, p.73]

For now, Sapienza is a fabulously strong episode, and one of the series’ greatest hits.

This Italian job is another dynamic, and darkly comic, Hitman mission.
