Mar 13, 2019This game would be amazing, if it wasn't for how short it is and the awful Beelzebot battle, which does not rely on skill, but pure luck and it's frustrating. Other levels were good, but man that boss killed all fun from the game. Still it's a nice game, if you'll get it for free. Pickens approves!

Dec 25, 2017A fun, madly fast game. It's a mix between Jazzpunk and Doom 4 (sped up 3x). I can see this being a perfect game for speedruns.
It would be slightly better if it would be polished - there are relatively frequent clipping problems, and Beelzebot's difficulty is a sudden spike (it could be made clear how to beat it, and it would still be challenging). The game also suffers from mild stuttering. -
Jul 4, 2018If Quake and Hotline Miami they would have a child, it would be like High Hell. Hilarous, frenetical and perfect for fast and short game sessions. It's not perfect, but it's a tiny divertimento.

Oct 22, 2020Fun, short (~2 hours), fast paced FPS with nice, but simple cel shaded graphics. Missions are in short, bite sized chunks which make it enjoyable and compels you to keep trying/playing.
Except for the final 2 missions (20&21) where the difficultly ramps up considerably and luck plays a large part (mission 20).
Well worth the sale price of £2.

CD-ActionFeb 8, 2018It’s hard for me to view High Hell as anything more than an awkward experiment. [01/2018, p.54]

Jan 15, 2018If you’ve ever pictured yourself fighting corruption with an arsenal of shotguns in a loopy environment that’s reminiscent of a NyQuil hallucination, then High Hell is for you. Fast-paced, sick beats, shiny graphics, unlimited ammo, arcade shooter… need I say more?

Dec 16, 2017Frenetic and bizarre fps of high rhythm focused on speedrun that will make you return again and again to its levels calculated to the millimeter. A highly enjoyable game with the seal of quality of Devolver Digital.
