Un gioco inaspettato, fresco e frenetico.
Una meccanica di gioco non nuova ma molto interessante perché legata al ritmo della musica.
    Condigliato!

The game can truly be one of their premier series, and Chai(The MC) could become a mascot of sorts for Microsoft alongside Chief, giving them a sort of counter to Sony who has Kratos and Ellie, or Nintendo who has Mario and Link.

As for the inner workings of the game...

    Pros:
-Fantastic soundtrack: Weather you're using the licensed music or turned on the option for only original songs, the game is a bop all the way through and will have you tapping your foot the entire time.

-Smooth gameplay: Locked at a consistent frame rate without any issues. I played this on both my PC(Intel Core 9, Nividia 3080) and Xbox Series X and both ran fantastically, to the point where I was running at 4K, 144FPS without a single issue. For those with less powerful PC's, the game has the option to cap the frame rate as low as 24FPS, so unless you're build is pre-2013, you should have no issues.

-Smooth combat: The combat is easy to learn but hard to master. The game has a very nice progression system where you start off with very basic combos, yet you quickly gain the ability to upgrade as soon as you beat the first stage. You can also cancel out of combos without issue, meaning you don't have to worry about getting locked in a combo right when you're about to get hit. The game also rewards you for timing your hits to the beat of the music, as it will deal more damage and give more bolts(In game currency.) For those who worry they don't have any rhythm, not only does the game not punish you for not being on beat, but you also have the option to bring up a meter that will show you when the beat of the song hits, making it very new comer friendly.

-Story and Characters: In all honesty, the story is rather simple, as you and a ragtag group of friends have to take down the evil corporation, but it does have some subtle twists I enjoy. For one, hints throughout the game show that the company wasn't always evil and was once used for good before the new ownership took over, which is a nice twist as it shows it's not corporations themselves that are evil, but rather the power hungry investors who get in charge. I also really enjoy the rag tag group of friends you get, who I won't be spoiling, but they all work wonderfully together and by the end, they truly feel like a team who have been through Hell and back together.

-No Micro transactions: Pretty simple, the game is 30 dollars and you don't pay a cent more unless you get the deluxe pack which gives you a few extra costumes to wear. Other than that, you can't buy anything in the game. You want more ingame currency? Go kill robots. Want that super cool technique? You gotta buy it with ingame currency. You want this graffiti to hang up in the hideout? Go find it in one of the levels first. This is what gaming used to be about, using your own skills and knowledge of the game to aquire collectibles instead of buying them with real money.

-You can pet the cat: I mean...Who doesn't want to pet the cat?

    Negatives

-Platforming: Easily the worst part of the game is the platforming, though this is somewhat mitigated by a midair slide that can be useful for aiming against the wall so you don't overshoot. Still, the controls don't differ between combat and platforming, and while the jumping is super slick for flying around and killing enemies...Not so much when you need to make precise jumps, other than risking a fall(Though a fall thankfully only takes a little bit of health and doesn't cause a game over.)

A little forced romance: This is a nitpick, but near the end of the game, two characters are either implied to have feelings for each other, or atleast one has a crush on the other. This is fine, yet it's never brought up at all in the game, and feels a bit forced at the end. For a game that has a amazing story and characters, it feels a bit out of left field.

Overall: Overall, Hi Fi rush is one of the best games Bethesda has made in quite a long time, and shows that AA gaming can still thrive in this market. With a campaign close to 11 hours long, with quite a bit of post game content, the game is not only worth 30 dollars, but it's almost highway robbery. Weather you like rhythm games or not, this is a game everyone has to try out atleast once.

The visuals remind me of comic books, and the switches between 3D and 2D feel unexpected but not jarring. The cutscenes are excellent, the dialogue is funny, and the characters are booming with personality. Chai could use a bit more work, though. He's just "I wanna be a rockstar baby!!" and I feel like if he had a bit more personality, it could be better received by the public. But that's my two cents.

Overall, it's a great experience if you want to run through it with story mode in mind, although replayability is lacking. That's not an issue, though, if you plan on just enjoying it from start to finish.

I would personally recommend this game if you liked Devil may cry 5 because the combat are very similar.
In conclusion I would say that this Rhythm game is one of the best i ever seen.

Audio is another great aspect of this game (it will be strange if it isn't, cuz it rhythm game all about music ya ?XD) but to my taste it will be great if sound composition contain more actually lyric not just sound itself. Gameplay can be treated as slasher, i guess, and it's not bad especially in middle-last part of the game when you get more combo, allies and special abilities. the final part is a plot that also strong part of the game cuz it fun and also contain a lot of reference to movie/anime/games, also overall story can surprise you in some twists and so on. as conclusion it's very strong game that can be really fun to you especially if you rythm game enjoyer but as for me it contain a lot of very small minuses that dont allow me to say that this game "10of10gameoftheyear". oh also play it on the controller because press alt/space/lmb/rmb/e is kinda difficult =D Expand

A pleasant surprise, for sure. This is what all video games should strive to be: focused, slick, and well-executed. Whoever thought to marry rhythm game timing with hack 'n' slash melee combat is a genius.

Mechanically, this game is nearly perfect. Timing your moves to the beat of a song is incredibly satisfying. And while it takes some getting used to at first, once you get into it, it is the most outstanding combat system I've ever seen. The game does a fantastic job of drip-feeding you new mechanics--from basic attacks to combos to dodging and parrying to special attacks--so that it never feels stale or repetitive.

However, Hi-Fi Rush does get in the way of itself a bit: In the latter half of the game, there is an over-reliance on quick-time events and mildly frustrating mini-games. Later enemies also have these annoying multi-parry mini-games that stop the flow of combat dead; they're not awful, but I could have done without them. Some of the combat encounters could also feel a little chaotic--to the point where rhythm and timing get lost in favor of simply trying not to die.

Boss fights, on the other hand, are flawless--and do exactly what boss fights should do: test you on your mastery of the core mechanics learned in each stage.

Yet none of this would work nearly as well as it does were it not for the audio-visual arrangement. The soundtrack and the environmental details all provide cues for the player to keep to beat--and therefore excel at the combat. There's a mix of genres to set the tone of each level and keep things interesting. But generally, if you like rock music, you are going to be well-catered for here. There was the occasional jazzy track that made it difficult to keep time, but, for the most part, the music is excellent.

And the visuals are also slick: it has a comic book/anime sort of aesthetic. The world and character designs are perfect for the tone of the game, and I never tired of looking at them. The cutscenes are awesome--so vibrant and kinetic. It has a timeless quality--and without setting my graphics card on fire.

All that said, the story is probably the weakest element of the game. For the most part, it is a has-been-done-before taking-down-an-evil-corporation plot. It is a little juvenile for me. The main character could also grate a little bit. He's basically an idiot that lucks his way through every situation. But by the end, he was mildly tolerable. Some people might like this but not me. However, the story did have its bright spots: it could make me chuckle from time to time.

My conclusion is this: Hi-Fi Rush is an enjoyable game and a breath of fresh air in an industry that has been stagnating for some time now. I think most people will like this game; however, your mileage may vary depending on skilled you are at keeping to a beat.

I played and finished the game in 8 hours because I was so focused on Hi-Fi Rush’s rhythm-based combat. To explain the combat, I’ll do a quick explanation of its story which is something that feels like a cartoon show that would be played on a Saturday morning. Not only does it act like a cartoon, but the art of Hi-Fi Rush also takes inspiration from other art styles such as comic books and anime during specific segments. In Hi-Fi Rush you play an inspiring rockstar, Chai, who goes through a cybernetic surgery that accidentally merges his music player to his heart. With his heart now being the music player, everything in the world around him goes to the beat of his music and because of this, he is now labeled as a defect by the corporation responsible for his surgery. With the power of friendship, Chai and the friends that he gains along the way must defeat this evil corporation to the beat of the music.
Now with the world going along to the beat of the music, that means Chai and the player must defeat enemies and time combos to the beat of whatever song is playing. While this might sound difficult, the combat and timing are quite easy and fun. Even if you manage to not hit enemies on the beat, it is still balanced so that you can still do damage and is still fun. Of course, you can level up your abilities so that certain abilities do even more damage on and off the beat. If you’re like me and are tone deaf you might have a hard time hearing the beat, but thankfully not only is there a bar in the UI to help you find the beat, but the world around you literally goes to the beat. Enemies walk and swing on the beat, lights, and doors go to the beat, and so on. At one point you might learn the rhythm and will find yourself tapping your foot or nodding your head causing you to get better level by level.
While I did have fun, there were 2 issues I had during my 8 hours. The game can get very repetitive, and this is because of the level's very formulaic design. When going through each level, you mainly do 2 things, which are platforming and fighting. While there are some minor puzzles and some collectibles it doesn't help change the formula. This might start to affect a player but only near the 3rd quarter of the game, which is either good or bad because it might stop someone from actually finishing it. If we ever see a second game I hope they change up the level formulas so that it stays interesting all the way through, but thankfully for such a unique game, it might not affect a player.
Hi-Fi Rush may have a formulaic level design which causes it to get a little repetitive, the game's cheesy Saturday morning cartoon art style help give life to a game that could've easily failed if not done correctly. Being able to fight enemies to the literal beat of the game's amazing soundtrack, the player can feel like a rockstar, which brings something new to the rhythm-based genre. If a second game does ever gets announced, I will be excited about what Tango Gameworks will bring to the table and hope they give us the show of a lifetime. In the end, I’d give Hi-Fi Rush an 8/10.

Brilliant in its simplicity. Leaves a bit to be desired in terms of repetitiveness and overall love towards the end of the game. Very solid rhythm game. 1st half 9/10, 2nd half of game 6/10. Overall I'd give it 7.5/10.

This game is cool looking and kind of fun but the beginning is very painful with all the training and the tips. I just want to play the game but I keep getting interrupted by more tips. I am not really sure what the story is and it seems like the rhythm part you can just kind of skip if you want. This seems like a lot of gloss but in the end this game is just kind of exhausting. a decent game for what it is. while i admit the soundtrack is not my cup of tea. the opening starts with a generic bland jam that you can hear in most commercials. however its nice to play and feel the instrumental evolving by rhythm as you play. nice anime-pop art esque character designs with dithering shading. transitions nicely from cutscenes to gameplay. i didn't feel the story (shamea decent game for what it is. while i admit the soundtrack is not my cup of tea. the opening starts with a generic bland jam that you can hear in most commercials. however its nice to play and feel the instrumental evolving by rhythm as you play. nice anime-pop art esque character designs with dithering shading. transitions nicely from cutscenes to gameplay. i didn't feel the story (shame to admit i don't remember much of it) but the sequence and gameplay concept built around the character and the world as you go.

feels like a fun dmc trainer. where rhythm help you master the time of attack animations and combos. beautifully animated. feels like a soda commercial at times. platforming is twitchy and fun as well. worth recommending to friends who are fans of the genre.

would like to see a sequel or dlc/expansion with more music. if you like games like ratchet and clank, dmc and rhythim games (maybe gitaroo man fans too. but im probably just thinking about the character going through the world consequences with a v guitar) you should really check it out!

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. - Visuals: Beautiful. Vibrant. Easily the best part of the game.
The cartoon vibe is really fun to look at.
Looked insane on my 32" 2k HDR monitor.
The whole world breathing and vibing to your beat is something that I've only seen before on like LSD I think.
It adds a lot to the game.
My only problem here is the visual clutter that gets out of hand really easy.
    9/10
    - Plot: meh. I got a feeling like it's targeted towards kids, but the adult oriented jokes and the workplace setting makes me feel they tried a one size fits all approach.
The progression is uneventful and predictable. You know right away who's the good guys and who's the bad guys.
Overall the plot could be way better if they had more time to develop it.
The so called "rebels" are so milquetoast that they're scared to even imply that the corporation is evil.
You can definitely feel Bethesda's boot being licked hard.
The pro corporate "we just need better corporations" propaganda this game is trying to sell was kinda vomit inducing, especially coming from a corpo like Bethesda.
    3/10
    - Characters: they're fun and quirky, all dressed in futuristic beautiful outfits and rock robotic enhancements.
Protagonist is kinda generic but grows on you.
Peppermint is cute, macaron is adorable, 808 adorable, cnmn is kinda funny.
The villains are quirky and super fun. I loved Zanzo (Jojo villain) and Rekka most.
I loved the banter and jokes.
    One character I hated.
    Mf Korsica. WTF.
Who tf though that giving an anime girl a deep voice Scottish accent would be a good idea?
She's boring, one dimensional and a real sore for your ears.
    Really useless character.
She reminds me of Sirona Ryan from Hogwarts Legacy - with both the devs tried to force a feminine look on a character who's voice doesn't fit.
    7/10
    - Technical: game ran at a perfect 165fps in 2k. Smooth as butter. 0 stutters.
    Inputs worked perfectly
I saw people complain about the cutscenes but that's how animation works.
Some health crates bugged out and didn't react to me hitting them.
Overall perfect technical performance as far as modern PC games go.
    - Music: oh boy.
This is supposed to be a music game?
    This was lousy.
I saw someone describe it as corporate-core rock and I fully agree.
I wish there were mods to switch these tracks with my own, because that stuff was forgettable, repetitive and gave me a headache.
Same song playing for 30 minutes plus is bound to do that.
All same rhythm and bpm pretty much, leads to a boring and headache inducing ost
    0/10
    - Gameplay loop: fun for the first couple stages.
I liked the tutorials and additions (unlike other people), but I hated the need to use assistants in the platforming.
Then it gets tedious really quick and makes you feel trapped.
The combos you buy matter very little, as there's not really much of a window to use any of them when you're constantly locked into parries and dodges.
    Very disappointing.
The rhythm part also sucked, because the player will hit regardless of missing, and there's no option of creating combos by using more complex rhythms.
You will be punished for trying to hit 1/8ths and 1/16ths.
I cheesed the game so easy by doing a "health gain" build.
Essentially I bought the health tank and all upgrades, and put healing efficacy and parry heals for the chips.
    I became immortal.
    Boring.
The platforming was easy and not as annoying as people say it is. 5/10. - Conclusion: so much missed potential. What's most depressing is how much hype there is surrounding this game. It's depressing because the standard is so low right now for video games, that a complete game is considered a masterpiece. Overall, this game is short and fun which makes is easy to ignore it's faults. 6/10. Bonus for the fun visuals.

The game is set in a retro-futuristic world where music is the source of power. The player controls Chai, a young man who has been given a Walkman that allows him to control the music and fight enemies.

Hi-Fi Rush received mixed reviews from critics. While the game was praised for its visuals, music, and gameplay, it was criticized for its short length and repetitive levels.

Here is a summary of the pros and cons of Hi-Fi Rush:

    Pros:

    Beautiful visuals
    Catchy music
    Fun and challenging gameplay
    Creative level design
    Great sense of humor
    Cons:

    Short length
    Repetitive levels
    Lack of difficulty options
    Technical issues
Overall, Hi-Fi Rush is a fun and enjoyable game that is perfect for fans of rhythm games and action games. However, the game's short length and repetitive levels may be a turn-off for some players.

Here are some of the things that Hi-Fi Rush does well:

The visuals are stunning. The game has a bright and colorful art style that is reminiscent of cartoons from the 1980s. The character designs are also very creative, and the environments are full of detail.
The music is catchy and upbeat. The soundtrack is a mix of original songs and remixes of classic tunes, and it really helps to set the mood for the game.
The gameplay is fun and challenging. The game mixes beat-matching with action combat, and it's a lot of fun to try to keep up with the music while fighting enemies.
The level design is creative. The levels are all unique and full of interesting challenges, and they keep the game feeling fresh throughout.
The game has a great sense of humor. The dialogue is witty and the characters are all likable, and there are a lot of funny moments throughout the game.
However, Hi-Fi Rush also has some flaws:

The game is short. It can be completed in about 10 hours, and there's not much replay value.
The levels can be repetitive. There are a few different enemy types, but the levels themselves tend to be samey.
The game lacks difficulty options. There's only one difficulty setting, and it can be too easy for some players.
The game has some technical issues. There are a few bugs and glitches, and the frame rate can drop during intense moments.
Overall, Hi-Fi Rush is a fun and enjoyable game that is perfect for fans of rhythm games and action games. However, the game's short length and repetitive levels may be a turn-off for some players. If you're looking for a short and sweet game with a great soundtrack and some fun gameplay, then Hi-Fi Rush is worth checking out.

Basic story, childish humor, most of the music is so generic that it doesn't inspire me to keep the rhythm. I spent the game annoyed and consciously counting the beat in my head trying to press buttons on time. There is no drive here for me. The only positive thing about the game is several story cutscenes that are well produced. I love good rhythm games, this is not one of them.

The greedy developers were too cheap and lazy to continue making AAA games, so now they resort into making mobile games. There are so many games like this in the indie market, so why should I be impressed with this generic indie-quality piece of garbage? It's so overhyped. Had this been Rockstar or Naughty Dog selling this game for $30, the narrative would've been so different. The framerate is horrible during cutscenes in a pathetic attempt at keeping the budget low. This whole "art style" stuff is just an excuse for developers to be cheap and lazy. This game tries too hard to be funny. 2004 wants its humor back. Running animations are cringeworthy.

There is no multiplayer. So once you beat the story, there is literally not a reason to play this game again. Although this game is not a cash grab as it's just $30. That's one thing the developers got right. If you are going to give me half the game, it better be half the price. Nintendo would've charged $60 for this indie trash. Although I do not feel this is worth $30, as this is literally just a generic indie or mobile game. Boring and repetitive game with lack of content. I would recommend until the price drops to $10 or less before purchasing this game.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Hi-Fi Rush is an example of a game that LOOKS like it should be great, so people assume it is. While the game is visually stunning, the gameplay is one-note, the voice acting is mediocre, the dialogue is awful, and the story is so cliche that I upset myself thinking they would actually take an interesting turn near the start of the third act of the story, but they failed miserably and then I remembered what game I was playing. Setting your game up to be an action rhythm game is such and interesting idea that they do NOTHING with. It literally boils down to “play on the beat”. The beat never changes. The time signature never changes. You can’t come up with your own rhythms to make combos. It’s literally “here’s a small list of moves that make combos if you press this short combination”. The second I realized you wouldn’t have any personal expression in your gameplay, I was bored. Then I continued with this travesty of a game until the ending because I figured it had to get better. It doesn’t. Every fight, the whole momentum of the game stops, and the enemies show up and posture for 2 seconds before anything happens. Then, if you defeat those enemies, a short cutscene plays in the middle of every wave and the enemies show up and posture. This happens, EVERY SINGLE TIME. And as you’re running through a stage, your companions will chime in with something or other every 10 seconds the ENTIRE GAME. “Use the generator, Chai”, “I can break that door, Chai”. Non stop. All game. And let’s not forget the AWFUL platforming. Chai jumps up and down like he’s made of lead. I haven’t felt platforming this bad since early PS1 games, and I’m not very sure it was that bad back then. Its safe to say that I hated every second of this game from about the 2 minutes mark of actual gameplay. For a game that everyone is raving about, I think it’s an absolute joke of a game with wasted potential, annoying characters, a bad story, and stale gameplay. Good thing this is on Game Pass, but even then it’s got a 5% completion rating. Makes me think that people don’t really care for it as much as they claim. And that would make sense. It’s bad. Expand

Like other rhythm games, what starts as frantic button-mashing turns into rewarding jam sessions. As you learn to time your strikes to the beat, you'll face an escalating range of robot foes that fight back (also on tempo, of course). It's a dance paired with an amazing soundtrack, and — funky as it sounds — I promise, it works.
