    Best VR game ever.... so far! I'm super happy they brought us back to Half Life. Everything is perfect story Graphics control gameplay voice acting all perfect

    This is hands down the best VR game ever to be made. Its as ground-breaking as Half Life 2 was when that came out. It changed everything. And this has changed the fact that you can make a compelling game in VR, a big budget VR blockbuster. The game itself is just perfect. I love the characters, Russell being the standout for me. His witty lines kept me chuckling throughout. But this isThis is hands down the best VR game ever to be made. Its as ground-breaking as Half Life 2 was when that came out. It changed everything. And this has changed the fact that you can make a compelling game in VR, a big budget VR blockbuster. The game itself is just perfect. I love the characters, Russell being the standout for me. His witty lines kept me chuckling throughout. But this is what Valve does best. They make amazing games. This is a thing of beauty when you play it. I've never forgotten I was playing a video game before. But this happened while playing this, someone spoke to me while I was playing and for a second I had to work out where the sound came from. It's the first time I've ever lost myself like that in a game. You know what, I'm submitting this review and I'm going to go play some more.… Expand

    Long time ago I was played Half Life-2 and sometimes my hands trembled and sweated. This was amazing game, very convincing and empathetic. Today many games is nothing worth, like new Assassin's Creed series, new Far Cry series, and others...
    But Alyx! Alyx is super game, very impressive!
    My hands tremble and sweat again!
    It's incredible! A rare game today leaves such an impression

    Sensational game. Not only is this the best VR game so far. It's up there with the absolute greats. If you have a vr headset that's compatible with this game and you haven't played it, you need to!

    This is one of the best VR games out there. Everything about it is incredible. Best of all, it's Valve finally diving back into Half-Life. Play this game if you can. It's amazing. No gameplay videos can do it justice.

    I've been playing PC games since 1989 and Alyx easily rankes among my top 5 best games ever played. Half-Life has always been on the forefront of what is technologically possible on PC and Alyx is no exception. With Alyx Valve has set a new standard for VR.

    Unfortunately there are a lot of haters out there that are review bombing this game. It isn't that they don't like the game. It wouldn't surprise me if this becomes the #1 reason to buy a VR system from the cheapest (used Oculus Rift ~250€) to the most expensive (brand new Valve Index => 1080€). The new quality standard for a VR game has been set by Valve who in the past developed newer Half-Life gamesHalf-Life: Alyx is a breathtaking experience.     This game makes every other Virtual Reality "effort" almost an embarrassment by comparison. Say what you will about Valve and their taxes and hats, they almost always hit a home run when it comes to game development.

Yes, it may not be what you expected, but please do not underestimate the game's rating, judging by the ending and what valv says, there are plans to really develop the series further. It all depends on the success of Alix. Releasing a game only for virtual reality is a decent price for developing a product that is innovative in every sense. Physics, graphics, sounds, shooting, ambient, music, a new, fresh look at the universe and a lot of small details closely related to the history of the game world, which I stared at in the game for dozens of minutes, and from the very end almost lost consciousness. This is a really great game that set the quality bar for VR projects for years to come and attracted the interest of many people who don't even know anything about headsets. P.S. I urge everyone who has not played the game not to put a bad rating on the game. Optimization by the way is excellent I have 1060 6gb and i5 9-series and it goes great, for all time there were only two fpsdrops, which I can not say about the same Boneworks.… Expand

    It's a shame this is the only truly AAA VR exclusive currently out, but God Damn, there hasn't been a system-seller this compelling since Super Mario 64. It's good to know Valve hasn't given up on game development, or the half-life franchise. Here's hoping this wasn't a outlier.

    A sensational VR game, it restores my faith in this universe. A slightly horror-like atmosphere, a sensational ending. Fighting with melee weapons is missing. Shooting is very enjoyable, the need to manually reload the weapon is really cool. You can pick up a lot of items and even deflect a jumping headcrab with    8/10 - Very good.

As a Half-Life fan I definitely think this is a worthy entry to the series, and while I understand that the game being VR only is a letdown for many, I can not imagine this game on any other platform.

    The only letdown for me personally is the lack of any    Half-Life: Alyx takes VR to the next level with its immersive story and locales, combined with superb gameplay and intriguing puzzles. As a Half-Life fan I definitely think this is a worthy entry to the series, and while I understand that the game being VR only is a letdown for many, I can not imagine this game on any other platform.

    The only letdown for me personally is the lack of any proper melee combat, which will reduce the score a point for me, honestly. Nevertheless, the game has exceeded my expectations, and I hope that those who are sitting on the sidelines without a VR headset get the chance to play it in the near future. This game is the AAA VR title that VR users were waiting for. Its the most polished VR game I have ever played by far. Plus it stands toe to toe with any Half Life game and is welcome addition to the franchise. isAfter 15 years, I can say it was worth the wait to be back in the Half Life universe.     God yes! This is the best VR game ever! Valve has out done themselves as always. This is the game that will usher in the VR age of video games. The environments and the level of interaction and polish are outstanding. I feel the fear and the intensity when it's presented.     Incredible game, another really AAA game for VR (vr has already some AAA games but this one is best of all hands down). The graphics are a next level of quality in VR , the mechanics are also excellent, the story and sound are superb.     Visually this game is incredibly gorgeous and realistic, Functionally it's super enjoyable, and the characters and plot really seal the deal for it. One of the best games I have ever played

    I've been playing for more than 25 years and this is the first time I bother writing a review. This game is AMAZING and EVERYONE needs to play this. I know that a VR setup and the headset is expensive but I really think it worth it. My only complaint is, I feel like there should be more enemies in the game, especially combine soldiers.     One of the best game I’ve ever played. The story and ending are a complete masterpiece. This game is made for everyone. VR can be finicky and make you sick, I’m looking at you boneworks and hot dogs and hand grenades, but Half Life Alyx is just perfect. I can’t wait for HL3:VR.

This emblematic franchise has been brought to virtual reality; in Alyx we enjoy an immersion never seen before, with comfortable and intuitive mechanics as well as excellent visuals and atmosphere that accompany this interesting adventure within the iconic saga.

    A special mention should be made of the game's dialog, mainly consisting of Alyx herself and Russel, a scientist who Alex remains in constant communication with throughout the game. Their relationship feels genuine, the conversations between them are enjoyable, and almost all of the intended comedic moments land perfectly, which is something most video games seem to have trouble with.
