NickRoofApr 12, 2009Loved it! It is true, you do reach the max level half of the way through, but that simply means you don't need to grind or quest for hours to get to the top. Overall the PvP is the part that shines the brightest to me. The Alliance Battles are fun and truely got me back into Guild Wars.

JamesW.May 15, 2006This game is poor compared to the original. If you have not played GW yet, try out the original first. Your money is better spent there.

0marJ.Jul 11, 2006Unfortunately, Factions is nothing more than a concealed grindfest. It's great if you play it continously, but if you actually analyze what you are doing, you'll realize it's nothing but grind grind grind and more grind. There are titles that literally take hundreds of hours to obtain, about the same amount of gold and there are maybe a dozen or so of these titles.

JennyG.Jul 2, 2006I play this game alot. In fact all day and I think that the new character classes are coool as shit. But the PvE part could use a lil more to it. It just dont seem as big as the first gw.. But other than that i really like it.

TimothyP.Aug 1, 2006Near perfect PC game!

WallaceW.May 1, 2006very easy to learning game no pressure to rush through also no month payment on line.

-
WillMay 15, 2006Good as a stand alone game; but the main thing I like about it is how nicely it merges with the original. The storylines are independant, but blend nicely.

UrosS.May 16, 2006The follow up to the original game gives even more freshness to the online MMORPG. Eventhough I love the first part Prophecies more I think that in Factions Guild Wars crew did the job well. The new ability in alliance bettles brings also a new spirit to the game as you need to decide with who and for what you will fight:-).

JohanMay 10, 2006Ben W, i think you've played on the beta weekend.. cuz my friend has it and hes lvl 10, not 20.

KarlS.May 26, 20061st expansion and can be played as a standalone. Total of 8 classes (2 new classes) The 1st game had more content for levelling under 20 Factions has more content for level 20s. Factions is fun by itself but more fun if you own both GW games.

BenW.May 8, 2006When you make your character, you start at the highest level making the game less attractive to me...I'm sticking to the orginal.

RobE.Oct 5, 2006This expansion adds, but it lacks the brilliance of the original. New classes, new skills, new quests, but most of it feels like more of the same. Instead of improving on the original formula, it adds new styles of play and makes them the focus. Just because you loved the original doesn't guarantee you'll love this one. If you haven't bought it yet, save your money for nightfall.

TudyD.May 14, 2006Awesome game. I have been playing the original for one year now, just bought Factions and I'm really satisfied with the improvements.

JohnB.May 15, 2006Great game, can not really fault it. Seems to carry on like the original with new weapons and monsters. People with the CE get cool items ;-)

AdamL.May 16, 2006Compared to the first GW, it takes a bit of getting used to, the missions are altogether more difficult, but this just brings a more strategic view to the game as opposed to the lone hack and slash, still lots of fun, highly recommended.

TudyD.Jun 29, 2006This is a game for the ones that want to have PvP fun. Online. Without a monthly fee. PvE is great, but the endgame content is definitely PvP. Once you get in a good guild (and it shouldn't take long), you'll have tons of fun. Definitely recommend it over any other MMOs out there (and I've played most of them, including WoW and Eve).

AndrewP.Jun 29, 2006This is a well-rounded game that can cater to many different styles of play. It truly feels like several different games; when you are tired with one facet, another will captivate you all over again. It is a great addition.

KevinVanwijnsbergheMar 29, 2006listen i don't give a **** what you guys think but Guild Wars Factions will own as much as the first Guild Wars Prohpecies...My characters on Guild Wars are: Damas Bloodwarrior - A Necro Called Razz - Supreme Marine - Frans Bauwer if you're there give me a call ;)
-
-
QuadBMay 11, 2006Missions/quests are all together better designed than first game...Leveling process is a bit rushed. Ben W, you've played during the beta weekend...the real game starts you off at level 1.

SebiL.Jun 17, 2006GW: Factions is a great game. But is also has some failings. If you have already played the first guild wars for some time, you will soon (about 150h) have enough of it because it's always quite the same. Don't get me wrong, it's a very good game, especially for new players. In any case it's worth the money.

Feb 19, 2012Very good campaign for a very good game, still just as fun and as addictive, especially with the new classes. An entire new area is opened up and ready for exploration, with the best part being it doesn't burn a hole in your wallet!
-
May 26, 2014My least favorite GW expansion. Everything that was great about Prophecies is still here, but it just feels like more of the same. The faction war could have been great but just ended up not being interesting at all.
-
Mar 5, 2014As good overall as Guild wars Prophecies. Better pvp then the first one. Nice maps of factions vs factions (borderlands). Fight against Shiro. Asiatic landscapes. New continent (Cantha) different from Tyria. New classes
Game play : 7/10, graphics : 6,5/10, back ground 7/10, lifetime : 5/10, sound : 7/10, community : 6/10, world : 5/10

On a very meaningful level, it gives complete newcomers access to the most exciting aspect of the game right out of the box. And should those players decide to sample everything that it has to offer, they will not be disappointed.

The follow-up to the innovative Guild Wars features a large new fantasy world to explore and enough competitive and cooperative role-playing action to easily keep you busy for weeks.
