    Green Hell VR on Quest 2 is an audio-visual showcase that sets a high bar for future Quest 2 titles and ports. It does so by making smart adjustments to the original game without compromising its core experience and gameplay. The streamlining of open spaces makes the experience easier, especially for those familiar with the title, but the gameplay is immersive yet unforgiving. It's not entirely smooth sailing, with some annoying bugs and frame rate stutters and some inherently frustrating gameplay moments that can take some wind out of its sails. As far as survival games on the Quest 2 go, Green Hell VR is the most immersive of all, and it's a great pick for survival fans who want to experience some rainforest survival training in virtual reality.

    Green Hell VR is a great survival game also in virtual reality for PC, certainly one of the best. The interactions are less accurate and responsive than those in the excellent version for Quest 2, but overall the audiovisual impact balances these differences and offers one of the most vivid "wilderness" settings ever seen in VR.

    Green Hell VR is the kind of game that will remind you why you bought a VR headset in the first place. It has so much to offer players who enjoy survival games, and the PCVR version is the closer of the existing two VR ports to the PC original for those who care about that sort of thing. If you’re looking to delve into an Amazonian rain forest and see if you can come out of it alive — or just want to stand in awe of the beauty virtual nature has to offer, transfixed by the gentle lighting and distinctive atmosphere — Green Hell VR will put your survival skills to the ultimate test.

    Overall, the Quest version of Green Hell is successful, albeit limited, and capable of dragging players into the wild jungle for many hours, teasing them thanks to the peculiarities of virtual reality. In short, it is a very stimulating experience that deserves to be included in your VR game library.

    Adhering so closely to the original doesn’t necessarily make the PC VR version of the game superior to the Quest edition. Dense jungles might be easy to trek through on a flatscreen, but it’s far more tedious in VR, and some of the concessions Quest makes in this regard ultimately suit the platform better. The great news is that, whether you want a deep, demanding survival game with complex systems, or a more welcoming conversion that’s more considerate of VR design, there’s a version of Green Hell VR for you.     As I've grown up with constantly watching Bear Grylls, this is the closest I have ever felt like being him without leaving the comfort of my own home. Although it could be played as a casual survival game, it is obvious it is more for those who want a hardcore survival experience while enjoying the views of a beautiful forest.     Green Hell is one of the most impressive Flat 2 VR conversions. After quite a few hours into it already, I can safely say that Green Hell VRGreen Hell is one of the most impressive Flat 2 VR conversions. After quite a few hours into it already, I can safely say that Green Hell VR is an absolute MUST PLAY (especially if you enjoy survival games).

    Green Hell is the full flatscreen game with no compromises (unlike the Quest version) - no content stripped or elements watered down (though multiplayer and the DLC content are coming later). Each flatscreen interaction has been completely redesigned for VR. It really is cool to see just how far a flatscreen game can be redesigned to feel like it was always a VR game originally and is a new bar for future flatscreen 2 VR ports.

    Let’s talk about graphics and immersion… I don’t think I’ve ever felt so immersed in another world in VR (maybe save Subnautica?). The graphics are absolutely jaw-dropping if you have the PC to run it at higher settings and it causes you to be completely sucked into that world - an open world you just have complete freedom to go, do and build anything.    … Expand
