This is a very well built game for a first time studio. I enjoyed the story (while not being the deepest) was a cool anime-style straight to the point story with a couple twist along the way.

The good: Combat is fast and fluid Gravity Circuit has unique powers that set it apart from it's influencers There's so many combinations of powers you can use Stages utilize the hook very well

Stages utilize the hook very well
    Perfect for speed running
Game does not overstay it's welcome.
    Great final boss battle
    The music is awesome!!!

    The bad:
Color palette is a little bland, could use some more pop and definition like in Bat Boy or Mega Man
Some features are not explained well, I've gone "how does this work?" a couple times and had no idea what I was doing. Even without the dialogue the level design didn't explain some things.
Boss battles are pretty easy with a couple power-ups
Being locked to 2 energy cells without clear direction on how to upgrade to more slots.

    Ugly:
The single color characters could have been better, there was a bit more contrast needed to make the characters pop.

    Overall:
I love this game, I hope to see a sequel soon and I believe this is a top 10 game this year with minor complaints. I'm going to play tit again.

If you even remotely like Megaman Games, you should stop reading and buy this game.
If you liked The Messenger or like ninja games in general, you should stop reading and buy this game.

    *THE GOOD*
Music: 10/10 (Didn't expect such a great OST!)
    Movement & Gameplay: 10/10 (It's *ridiculously* good!)
Presentation: 9/10 (gorgeous sprites and animations, but the mono-color design holds it back a bit)

    *THE "COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER"*
The game falters a bit when it comes to upgrading your character. Yes, you get special attacks, but you can use them only so rarely, that they don't really become part of the gameplay until you enter the last few levels. This gets remedied by Circuit Mode somewhat, but that's something you only unlock after you beat the game. Also, some of the abilities are so good in all situations, that they invalidate all the others, which is a bummer.

Another way to become stronger is installing up to 3 chips - each with a different effect. Plus you can swap them out to adjust to the situation, which sounds great! However, some of these chips are INSANELY good - like the one that reduces damage from enemies by half or the one that gives you a double jump. So with only 3 choices and two effectively mendatory picks, there isn't a whole lot of customization left, which is another bummer.

Finally, there are 4 health upgrades you can find, each increasing your maximum HP by 25%. Once again, these upgrades are strangely TOO much of a good thing. When playing on hard, defeating your first boss is going to be a big challenge. However, after finding 2 health upgrades and the half damage chip, bosses suddenly become a cakewalk. This meant that for the later bosses, I no longer had to learn their patterns to beat them, resulting in a game that gets less fun the further you go. Of course there is the option of just skipping powerups (and the game has achievements to reward you for that), but it's still a bummer how the regular game gets *less* challenging as time goes on.

Finally, the last bummer in the game is that the exploration aspect just kinda vanishes after you beat the 8 bosses. In the final stages, you are mostly going through the motions, going through repeated level ideas from the original 8 stages - only this time you're no longer on the lookout for breakable walls, robots to rescue or hidden power ups - because there is nothing here for you to find. In Megaman X game, there was always a last big thing you could only find in the final levels of the game - and only if you found all the prior secrets - the Hadoken, the Shoryuken, another armor, something epic that's hidden very well and takes some extra-skill to obtain. Gravity Circuit had nothing like that, which makes the end of the game feel sorta rushed.

    *FINAL VERDICT*
Buy Gravity Circuit. It's the best Megaman game since Megaman 11. It's a better Megaman X game than Capcom could ever make, and it's a damn good ninja platformer as well!
If we ever see a sequel - and if the creators iron out their few mistakes - then we'll see the true potential of this gem in the rough!

This game was totally unexpected to me, I liked EVERYTHING, the melee combat kinda like Mega Man Zero but more fighting game inspired was phenomenal, the story I love it for a game of this kind, the retro graphics, the killer soundtrack but most importantly is an addictive game well done that even includes new game plus mode, challenging, awesome boss fights, if you were fan of Mega Man XThis game was totally unexpected to me, I liked EVERYTHING, the melee combat kinda like Mega Man Zero but more fighting game inspired was phenomenal, the story I love it for a game of this kind, the retro graphics, the killer soundtrack but most importantly is an addictive game well done that even includes new game plus mode, challenging, awesome boss fights, if you were fan of Mega Man X buy this immediately, if you like retro action platform games, buy immediately too, this games is a 9 out of 10. Damage on contact with enemies is an outdated mechanic that shouldn’t be in any modern game.

I’ll give the game another try once they allow you to remove that, either via difficulty settings or some other way.

Absolutely not fun at it’s current state.

Great game for fans of the Mega Man series. Game may be challenging in the beginning but after two or three stages it can gets quite easy, especially for the more experience players and after you acquire some skills like double-jump and punch extension. Anyways I highly recommend for Mega Man fans and 2d platformer enthusiast.

Outstanding game, possibly the best indie game I've ever played. The controls are largely fantastic, and the fast movement makes the game a visceral rush to play. The level design is strong. The soundtrack is phenomenal, with a varied lineup of electronic songs (some calm, some very fast-paced). The story is strong as well, with numerous endgame twists that are executed well. While there are some minor gripes I have with elements of the controls and level design, and the game could've used a training room of some kind for experimenting with the new abilities you obtain, they aren't enough to stop me from giving this game a 10/10. There are few things more satisfying in any game than taking advantage of the hookshot grab to throw defeated enemies at others. Genuine shame the game hasn't received more attention, because it could be a genuine contender for Indie Game of the Year. It might even end up being my game of the year overall! Expand

Gravity Circuit is a great side-scroller that brings back enough nostalgia with the right amount of authenticity, capturing our hearts and taking us back to the good old times.

Again we turn to the indie game devs in order to get a game that is this polished and satisfying to control. Gravity Circuit is really guilty of false advertising: It's way flashier and way more satisfying than what the store page description is telling you. Truly one of the best games of 2023.

Short but packing a hell of a wallop, Gravity Circuit delivers on most of what fans of Mega Man X and Zero would want out of a fast, challenging 2D platformer.
