    It may be your brand name, it may be you have good games, but this game truly showed how lazy and money-hungry Rockstar can be. I'm sure they themselves learned from this and were ashamed. All they do is add reflection to the game and make the models a little softer. The thing called Remastered is not something to be taken lightly. If you can't, better don't!

    Rockstar cuould just stop making gta online updates to make this game instead of a mobile game devoloper (Grove street games), Now this game gets a lot of updates that dont fix anything

    I don't understand how a company which has made some of the best games ever produced took the classics which put them on the map and objectively made them worse. The graphics looks great(at least for Vice City, which is the only one I have played thus far), but that is all. Everything else has become worse:
    - this game is not meant to be played on PC, the controls are just bad.     - There are issues with spawning of pedestrians. During Taxi fare mission and rampages, they just don't spawn, making completing the task impossible
    - none of the weird vehicle spawns from the original has been fixed, where car in front spawns backwards and changes direction to normal. In fact, there are more glitches with vehicle spawns than in the original
    - songs have been removed from radio stations(including Billie Jean), during missions when NPCs talk in car, the radio volume change glitches. There are times when radio stations just stop working
    - collectables appear too late, I would have imagined that nowadays draw distance is not that problematic
    - many cutscenes are too dark due to lack of light source
    - car doors opens and closes badly
    - driving feels worse than in the original, the car slides too much

    To be fair, there are some good things here as well;
    - personally I like the new graphics, although they are inconsistent in quality
    - the radio/weapon wheels are good addition
    - the .357 pistols bullet trajectory has been fixed
    - weather effects are gorgeous

    As much as I want to like this game, I just can't. This game is objectively worse than the originals, if they just updated the graphics and left everything else as it was, the product would have been much better. The game does not let itself to be liked - once I finally understand its limitations and bad spots and play in a way to avoid them, it just gives glitch after glitch after glitch. Pity.

    I give this game 0/10 because it is an insult to the original trilogy. How can you make a Definitive Edition worse version of the 20 year old originals? And then they charge full AAA price for this pile or errors? Everyone involved in this project should be fired and permanently banned from working in gaming industry. The game is so bad that I literally registered here only to leave a review for it. Its a tragedy that should have never happened.    … Expand

The textures look like plastic, the shadows are weird and barely visible and they move in a strange way... and OMG the bugs. There are so many bugs with character models and they also removed fog from GTA San Andreas so now the map looks small. They added some stupid clouds but they do almost nothing. This is a 2/10I'm pretty disappointed. Even after all those patches it looks very bad.     The gameplay is rubbish, improved controls? Please make it worse, the character and cars move worse than the classic, bugs to burst, and some air vehicles are harder to fly, Grove Street games did not serve to make this game that was technically a copy past of the classic versions, if that could not do, I can not imagine a more demanding game made by it.

Rockstar Games, take two interactive, and Grove Street Games should be ashamed of themselves. they announced these classic games way too early delisting the original ones and releasing it too early even know the game is not at it state. when it was released there was major problems that turned out to be a disaster I mean honestly Sega almost did right with sonic origins when that came out yes I know it was too overpriced, lack of content but hey at least they didn't left any major glitches that'll kill the classic sonic games. when i say this game has to be the worst remaster of all time trust me it is. there's so many bugs, glitches, bad character models, pc version was taken off the store because rockstar has to remove some files that angers fans and they wanted a responses and refunds but they didn't comment anything and when they apologized they half baked apologize to us because I thought that they were gonna get our refunds and restoring the classic gta on ps4 but not they got away with it and they did not fix this game, when they sales going up because of the title they started abandon this game meaning that they're not gonna fix it. it's rockstars fault they are responsible for this and it costs them money. this whole trilogy should have not launched in that state. it should've taken time to release it when it's ready… Expand

    The part I hate most about this game isn't even the game itself. They removed peoples mods that they worked harder to make than what rockstar did making this trilogy. They also removed the original games so people are forced to buy this over priced junk. You cant even buy the individual games! So if you only wanted to buy 1 of them, you have to buy all 3. Another way in rinsing you for more cash, charging you for something you're probably never gonna use. After Rockstar pulled this stunt I actually despise the company and I hope someone buys them out so they can stop ripping off their customers.
    This trilogy was not play tested at all. As long as it started up then it hit the shelves. I miss the days when devs would hand their game out to a few people so they could give them feedback. That way a we would get a working game. I stopped pre ordering games so I could read reviews on the product. I played this through PS Now and gamepass. If I paid for it I would have demanded a refund. I have not tested vice city but I can imagine the same issues are there if they are in both III and SA.

    Anyway here is some of the bad things I have found. (These are problems with all 3 games unless said otherwise)
    You can only change weapon using 1 button or you can hold it down to bring up a GTA V style weapon wheel. If you were like me and switched back and forth to reload then you're out of luck.
    Some of the textures haven't been updated making them look stupid.
    Character modals look stupid. This badly shows in San Andreas where its people with a darker skin colour. They look kind of red aswell.
    The gun play is this game sucks. Switching between targets is no longer instant but instead you have to hold the analog left or right for about 2 seconds before it switches to the next target.
    The aiming target stays green rather than corresponding to the health of the NPC.
    The game is based from the mobile version so its way easier than the original games.
    Certain textures have been resized like leafs and stuff. Because of this they now overlap in certain areas so you'll have loads of leaves randomly floating off the side of a hill.
    There is no longer fog. This is definitely 1 of the worst issues. You can now look into the distance and see the games render distance and stuff.
    The audio files are a really low quality, likely ripped from the original games. So you have a HD game with what sounds like 100kbps audio files.
    Not sure if its just me but GTA III at night is way to dark. I turned the brightness up and then during the day time its way to bright.
    No longer does stuff blow in the wind making the game feel more bland. (In the original games you would have trash and leafs blowing around)
    The game is extremely over priced. Its $50 when it should be $30 for all 3 or $15 each.

    I just don't understand how you can remaster a game and make it have less features and play worse than the original games? The worst part is that they aren't even working to improve it and make it just as good. You could have a better experience by paying for the original game on PC (Don't worry it should run or more or less any PC that can run windows 10).
    Use the GTA SA downgrade tool. This will allow any mods to work. If you have the disc version you will no longer need a disc inserted either.
    Then install the texture update mods. I am sure people would have reuploaded them after the scum bags known as rockstar removed them. With the texture mods you will have a game that looks better and plays better than this pathetic excuse for a game. This is an insult to the original games and its an insult to those who paid for it. There needs a be laws on what qualifies as a finished product in order to charge for it. This definitely is not what I call finished.    … Expand

    Pathetic and embarassing puritanical woke and PC crap! Everything GTA has always been against! Don't support woke/PC and puritan products and companies, especially if those products were originally conceived in a different way and with a different target, certainly non NPC SJWs and neo-puritans! So this is also book burning! Remember, "Get WOKE, go BROKE"!

    Rockstar dropped the ball on this remaster. The cars and other moving models look like plastic toys and the cities look like polished excrement. The contrast between the environment and the models is horrible and the list of bugs is long and obnoxious. Quality of life changes are the only redeeming part of this remaster that does no favours for fans or newcomers. Skip it until they either fix it or let the moders do their job.

    I cannot currently recommend Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition on the PC, and a lot has to happen until I do. The truth is that I've had a decent amount of fun with this remaster; part of it is based on nostalgia, and part of it is based on some ridiculous, unavoidable bugs that weren't as frequent as I'd feared. Given all of these issues and the abysmal performance of the three games on the PC, I'd stay away from the trilogy until several major updates have been released. Even then, this remaster may not be for everyone.

    Overall, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition was set up to be one of the best things for GTA fans and it failed to hit that mark. It will now be remembered as a failure to launch title but I am sure Rockstar will step in and continue to fix some items within their game world.
