A feeble attempt to imitate one of the best CRPG games ever. It can, however, in no other way be compared to "Baldur's Gate" thanks to its many gameplay drawbacks and numerous technical flaws including the countless bugs which will soon kill any desire to play this game.
-
While it borrows heavily from the "Baldur's Gate" bag of tricks and has a few rough edges, it's still worth a look.
-
Computer Gaming WorldSome of the quests you'll receive are actually quite cool..., but mostly the chores are mundane and the gameplay very linear. [Apr 2002, p.94]
-
Yeah, Gorasul can be fun, but the twisted translation, buggy game engine, skimpy manual, and weak sound indicate a game not ready for prime time.
-
With four CDs of RPG fun it does tend to drag on.
-
Man, is that dialogue butchered.
-
This game looks like the result of an evening filled with Spicy Hot Cheetos and warm Pabst Blue Ribbon. Not pretty.
-
You'll be constantly amazed at the lack of refinement.
-
The crashes, lockups, and bizarro-world English really put a damper on things and lead to a lot of nerve bending frustration, and in the end it's just not worth the effort to fight through all the mess.
-
If it wasn't for the unfinished feeling to the entire experience, I would have to say Gorasul is a great game for someone looking for something a little different in their RPG titles.
-
PC GamerA big-time ripoff of other, better roleplaying games. [Apr 2002, p.73]
-
While this game has certain unique qualities, it is not far enough from BG2 to constitute going out and buying it instead.
-
Never more than a cheap imitation of something great, thanks to a host of technical problems and an overall lack of polish.
