    I really enjoyed building up a game studio from a Garage. The game conveyed a few messages for me:
    -the best investment is to train yourself

    Great Game! Having a simulated game company is really interesting.
    the game follows gaming history from the earliest point of time with the PC and Commodor(called differently in the game) and while the game does not entirely accurately simulate the experience, it does come close, which is pretty impressive for a game that on the surface is relatively simple.

    on the surface its as simple as choosing the platform,Genre and name of the game.
    but after playing for awhile its pretty clear that it is a little bit more complicated then just that.
    you also run into the various events that real companies run into like Piracy(even in the legit version) but also little coding competitions within the company and the E3(called G3 in-game)
    the game's various stages,markes as Offices,add some new interesting game elements everytime you enter a new one, like getting employees to work for you and making another division to your company to research stuff.
    all-in-all. its pretty cool to see a game,simulating a game to this degree.
    if you'r a fan of Game Dev Story,then you will love this. it has some of the elements but adds TONS AND TONS of new gameplay elements that will make the experience a worthwhile endovour.    … Expand

    If you like Game Dev Story and similar games then you will LOVE Game Dev Tycoon. I only wish that there would be expansions for it since when you are at the end game you can only restart the game, which is kind of sad since i really felt like building something important while playing. Anyway, please make a sequel for Game Dev Tycoon!!!

    When I bought I wasn't sure it'd be any good but I was pleasantly surprised, as the game turned to be really fun.

    A big part of the game is getting game reports and really paying attention to what they say (which is repeated on your interface choices for games). There are many combinations that are important to a game success, including genre, ages, platforms and topics.

    Great game, way better then I expected. having more fun with this game then I have had with much more expensive games recently. This game is proof that some indie games despite not having a big company behind them, can be better then most triple A games. Definitely worth picking up. LOVE THIS GAME!

    Very Similar to Game Dev Story on iOS. This is much polished and smooth graphics! More realistic Consoles like we get in actual life. Overall thanks but PLEASE release for iOS!     Top notch little game. Cartoony gfx from an age gone by, but endearing for those old enough.

    If you were ever a fan of Capitalism II (even Movies Inc), you will like this.

    Simple, fun, and after all, with lots of content, simply addictive and with a visually very beautiful. I do not see a good tycoon game style so long. I recommend.

    The last time I had such a great pleasure of a Tycoon game was with Sid Meier's Railroad Tycoon. Here we have finally again a Tycoon game made properly. Game Dev has this "just one more turn" over it as in Sid's Civilization just not here a "turn" but "just one more GAME"

    10, 10, 10, 10 from me. Very good game for the price!

    The guy is pure awesome. it combines between fun and seriousness. You have the chance of making the game of your dreams Sci-Fi RPG game or Fantasy MMORPG or anything you want this game is about making you having fun same time making you learn how to make a successful company. I failed the game like 3 times myself but in the 4th time i made it and now my company Esoft got more than 100The guy is pure awesome. it combines between fun and seriousness.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I've have played for 36 hours since early Tuesday...or late Monday, depending on how literal you feel ;like being
    Nary Civilisation, Far Cry 3 nor Mortal Kombat could sway me, and I've a dual card set up to test on my pretty games that took up nearly a day of that time to set up.
    I'd have paid double what I did for this much use in such a short space of time.
    Just trying to master the end stretch of the game now, as pleasing those oh-so understanding gamers as the competition gets tougher.

    I found this game after Sips (Yogscast) played it. I downloaded the demo, and it is extremely fun! Unfortunately, I have to wait until it is on Steam to buy it. Can't wait!

    I am usually not a fan of tycoon games but game dev tycoon is amazing. I bought it on Friday for a mere £6.86v (roughly) and I have played it at every opportunity since.it may not be the most detailed game but it has character which is missing from a lot of games recently.if you are new to tycoon games I recommend buying this game. I cant wait to see what else greenheart comes out with.

    I could play this game for hours and days. Hard to master as it has a unique mathematical algorithm to rate the games you make based on a number of different variety of mixing. The only problem is... the algorithm can be touchy and picky once you starts combining genres and other 'devices' to a certain topic. So it makes it a bit difficult to get around, but once you get the hang ofI could play this game for hours and days.     It's just the best Tycoon I have played ever. It's addicting, I've been playing 10 hours straight! Success of this game is a one thing, that other games mostly don't have good concept for gameplay.

    The game is awesome! Long time did not play a game "Tyco". From the Roller Coaster Tyco I've never heard of a game "Tyco" success. But Game Dev Tyco overcomes espectavivas, the game is amazing! Pressure in the game leaves you impolgado with notes of their future games

    This game is wonderful, it's fun to experience what real game devs go through when trying to make games. With 3 save spots you can create multiple development teams.

    We've spent quite a few days on playing it and it's brilliant. They balanced well between technology and design :D and uploading a modified version of the game to a torrent base was a truly great idea... I'm going to spend more time playing it. There are some things that are worth improving, but overall notion and great great sense of humor makes it my #1 now :D

    Honestly this game is around a 7. Simplistic design and very reminiscent of "Game dev story" it is still very fun at it's core and worth the price, especially seeing as how this is a small indy dev's first game. I gave the 10 because most dickheads on this site post games as a 0 if they don't like them instead of giving a fair representation of the game itself.

    I really like the game, and I think it's one of the best indie games I have ever played, and probably the best tycoon game. The mechanics of the game works really well, and I like the parodies of real life-games and consoles.

    I consider this game a masterpiece.It is cheap,it is highly replayable,it is challenging,in one word,it is awesome!I recommend this game to everyone who likes tycoon/management games.It's simply the best of its genre!

    I played this game 10 hours.I think this game is awasome.And Its a good game.I think very cheap. I have gotten about 10 hours of entertainment out of it in my first 80 year playthrough.Very Funny game and you can't get bored easily

    This has to be one of the best games i've played in a long time I find myself making new companies just to get a bit of variety when playing.
    For the price its at as well i was shocked at how low the price is, for the amount of fun i've had and the amount of time i've played for it is well worth it !
    This is a must buy

My purchase of this was impulsive(only 7.99 so why not), and as soon as i had downloaded it i stayed up most of the night just to get my buisness flurishing.     Game Dev Tycoon was the most entertaining game ever! I'm very picky with games, I enjoyed sitting down and becoming a game developer! I cannot wait for another game by Greenheart Games, most interesting game i have played in a long time (in my opinion).

    Starts out just as the Demo does, but it's more challenging. To get a good review it's more difficult meaning you do have to change things up, so if you went for Racing, Racing, Racing you will lose fans and the reviewers will get bored of your same old games.

    You play for 30 in game years and trust me it has a good balance of how many games you can/could produce in a Game Year all depends on what you plan on doing, whether it's a Large multi-genre fantasy game or a small, casual mobile game it's your choice!

    The game won't stop after the 30years have been completed, it will show you you're score for those 30years, the game that sold the most units, the game that made the most profit and after that you can carry on and get bigger and better, and create more complex games even consoles!

    My personal Score was: 32906699 which i think is reasonably good for my first day with this game.

    Worth a 10/10, and it's no Rip Off, it's an idea based on an old game, pushed onto the PC Market with everything being much much better!

    Great Game, and "all games" would give it a 10! (people who have played it will know what i mean!)    … Expand

    The game itself is good but Im disappointed that it is a ripoff and they didn't add anything new in the game. I hope they can make some new things in the steam version of the game.

    A new favorite. I have played this game for probably 15-20 hours. This game really captivates and motivates the user to experience a real role play of sorts. The only complaint is a lack of proper feedback from the game on your games. Other wise, a truly unique experience, and one any casual gamer would love.

I think its great and I could, and have, play it for hours. the game starts off simple then gradually works its way up through history until your making your very own console to compete with the next-gen ones. Its not meant to be realistic, its meant to be challenging. we all know that making a game isn't this simple and that a single game cant realistically sell 700 million copies but who cares, all the hard work is all worth it when you achieve a high review score.

The gameplay mechanics are maybe a bit basic,but I like them and the game has made itself well worth the money.

    Its also a very relaxing game. You can just jump into it and play for 10min if you have time    Incredibly fun game. What makes me enjoy it the most is the settings.     This game is a lot of fun. And now that they have added more complexity to it since the original release and modability so I would say that since the game is so enjoyable and cheap, additionally it being Greenheart Games first game, it was really well executed and polished.

    A great and well-made game. Will entertain you for hours on end. Many people get frustrated with the little things, for example, the game punishes you for repeating game genres, and repeatedly releasing sequels for the same series. They fail to realize that, the mechanics like that, make this game what it is. It is a realistic depiction of the gaming industry today.

I bought the game and It was the best 8 or 9 dollars I've spent. For a game this enjoyable, I honestly would of payed more. There were some game-play issues I had that I found frustrating, but I learned what to do and what not to do. Just recently I sawI couldn't of asked for a more enjoyable game to play.     I've been addicted to this game for days on end now. The formula is simple, yet the game executes it well and provides a lot of joy for the game. You really can't go wrong with spend a few pounds this way. Recommended!

I mean I don't know what to say. It's like giving you an easy start and then they give you a challenge.... I don't care what other say. You don't like tycoon games is what I say ,but this game is really fun... How can you hate on such a fun game? Game Dev Tycoon needs an 10/10 and here it is. I rate it 10/10.     Any game that punishes the pirates in the most spectacularly ironic of ways is definitely worth getting. It's quite addictive, you just keep pushing out game after game, tinkering a little, trying to find the perfect combination that sends your accounts sky rocketing.

    It's a wonderful game. Everyone who played "Game Dev Story" on iOS or Android would love this game. It's customizable and has a nice replay-rate. It's every time a new adventure, and i like adventures!

    Mir hat am besten die 'Balance des Spieles gefallen. Man muss schon die "richtigen" Entscheidungen machen, allerdings bleibt es schön fair. Mein Tipp: Spezialisiert euch auf ein Topic dann habt ihrs besser im Griff

    It reminds me of Airline Tycoon and it still has a lot of potential I would improve but no 2 part Produce improve this item and then you can think about a second part with a new graphics engine.

    Fantastic game. I appreciate the actual difficulty of it. I've yet to discover any easter eggs or sell 100 million copies. :)

    We do not have to be hooked up to a social network to play it.

    Being a developer, I feel it is a very fun overview of the process.

    When I first played the game I saw all these consoles which I never heard about or at least know them very well. I started making games and really enjoyed the game. Then I started having interest on retro gaming. I played a lot of NES games for funz and realized that the only thing matters in a game is gameplay or story.     I got the game the day it came out and I fell in love with it. The game full of imagination and encourages you to experiment with the different combinations. A small flaw with the game is that it is incredibly difficult, but there is a sweet taste of victory when you get a good game.     I haven't played the Game Dev Story but I watched gameplay videos and they're different enough for me. Not to mention that I don't have an IOS to play it even if I wanted to. I've got to agree, but this game is in my opinion better and has simply the best anti-piracy thing ever. Also the easter eggs where great: pong easter egg, Portal easter egg the red barrel one it's one of those games who you could just play for 6 hours straight… Expand

On the surface it doesn't seem too complicated and certainly a person could pick it up and play without reading any of the tutorial information, however their is a very subtle set of aspects that make the gameplay quite deep, and the development of the game is steady and interesting.     I played this game and I ended up playing it for weeks!
    I was having a bit of trouble at first trying to make the games well,
    but after a week I managed to understand the game very well.     This is by far the best tycoon/simulation game I have ever played. I could play this a for million years and not get bored. I highly recommend checking this game out, especially since it's only ten bucks.

    I love the game! While I never played the Game Dev Story, I very much enjoy Game Dev Tycoon. I myself want to be a game dev, and I LOVE the nostalgia of seeing all these old systems.     When this game started, it was probably not really worth the price. Since then, the developers added a LOT of new features, four additional consoles, interface options and others. They really listen and respect their fans and deserve 10/10. One playthrough (1 company) took me 9 hours. The game really draws you in.

    My favorite game of all time. If you're willing to wait, you can accomplish truly great things all within a video game. Sometimes I forget I'm playing a game and not managing an actual game development company that's how in depth it is. For an indie game, it's absolutely fantastic.

    This was an amazing game I was really surprised since it was an indie game you need to use logic and reasoning. It is really fun and I played over 20 hours and still love it!

    This game is amazing. the first time i played it was in 2014, and i thought it was okay. recently, i got back into the game. i used a few mods, which made the game-play even better. mods are what upgraded my 8/10 to a 10/10. it makes the HUD and the UI better, and you always get some new content with all the mods.
