Apr 12, 2018If you like GalCiv3, you will like this version. Even if you do not like GalCiv3, but like space-based 4X games in general, this version may be a good excuse to give it a try. There are a lot of new features included here, and they generally do a good job of making the game better.
-
Apr 16, 2018A very good expansion, only let down by some restrictive government options, a bad commonwealth AI system, and Stardock’s continued refusal to stop people from playing with each other.
-
May 3, 2018Obviously, Galactic Civilizations III: Intrigue is now without its flaws, but it appears that Stardock managed to considerably reduce the number to just a few. Although almost every aspect of the base game has been improved, I feel that some of the newly added features need a bit of balancing or tweaking.
-
May 4, 2018Intrigue allows players to choose from 20 governments each with their own perks, special events that can reward unique ships or even destroy one of your planets, and is primarily a positive game changer for Galactic Civilizations III. Commonwealth are a neat idea, but sadly end up becoming more of a nuisance than an ally.
-
Apr 20, 2018The Intrigue expansion is another win for Stardock, building GalCiv3 up to become a giant amongst space 4X games.
-
Apr 12, 2018The Intrigue expansion breathes a lot of new life into Galactic Civilizations III with new story elements, governments, and other minor additions. Some of the problems still exist, such as the very vicious mid/late game grind it often falls into, and while changes were made to help this, it is still present. Those who have had little problem with the action up until now will find the new content a welcome addition.
