  1. An incredible, audacious attempt that doesn't quite live up to its goals. Easily one of the most complex stories ever told in a computer game. Highly recommended as both the continuation of a great series and on the strength of its high points.
  2. The interface in GK3 is simple point-and-click with keyboard support.
  3. With some of the best graphics and artwork in the field, Blood of the Sacred is a visual feast. With memorable characters and an addicting storyline, it's a world that you won't want to leave and one that you will return and visit for many of your days.
  4. Despite a few flaws, this is probably the best adventure game on the market today: a brilliantly plotted story with good characters, tough puzzles, and a 3D interface.
  5. GK3 is a long, difficult, immersive game with a strong, adult-oriented plot.
  6. The ending is simply spectacular and is worth working hard to get to. When it comes to storylines, I have to take off my hat and congratulate Jane Jenson to be the Agatha Christy of Mystery Adventure games.
  7. Great story, acting, interface, are all wrapped up to create one of the best adventure games yet.
  8. If you are interested in solving a mystery and running down dangerous corridors then this is the game for you.

After you finish the game, read all the books. The stories are wonderful, and their lasting appeal in somebody's imagination is a pretty subjective category to evaluate.
  10. One of the hardest I've played. It's DEFINITELY not for the novice adventurer. Rather, it's a rich, multi-course feast for the adventure connoisseur.

The gameplay is quite excellent, but Tim Curry is so off-putting that it almost makes this one a tough call. [Mar 2000, p.90]
  12. Gabriel Knight 3 is a fascinating and enjoyable mystery. It is also a good long game with a plot and puzzles that are quite absorbing, but be warned, it is also a dark tale containing ritual sacrifices of the throat-slashing variety.

Despite graphics which have not aged too well (decent for their time, and definitely passable for today), Gabriel Knight 3 has a lot going Despite graphics which have not aged too well (decent for their time, and definitely passable for today), Gabriel Knight 3 has a lot going for it. Its deep and intricate story chronicling the mysterious legacy of Rennes-le-Chateau in France is infinitely compelling, and every facet of the game's construction, from music, dialog, puzzles, and characters, create an incredible experience culminating in one hell of a satisfying ending. For anyone who plays adventure games, this game (and the rest of the series, at that) is required playing. Gabriel Knight 3 is not a perfect game; as I said the graphics are mediocre, and one or two puzzles are a bit illogical. But still, I can't imagine giving this game anything less than a 10. Everything good about it outshines and erases anything bad you can find. Full Review »

Best adventure game yet. One word: great. Definitely a must have. It's not understandable why Sierra chose to shut the series down.
