I start by saying that Freud's Bones is a unique work of its kind, in a step back in time you will find yourself catapulted to Berggasse 19 Vienna in the 1920s, where, in decidedly anomalous circumstances, you will be pushed to make your way through the labyrinth of the human psyche by taking control of the legendary father of psychoanalysis Sigmud Freud (and not only), on a journeyI start by saying that Freud's Bones is a unique work of its kind, in a step back in time you will find yourself catapulted to Berggasse 19 Vienna in the 1920s, where, in decidedly anomalous circumstances, you will be pushed to make your way through the labyrinth of the human psyche by taking control of the legendary father of psychoanalysis Sigmud Freud (and not only), on a journey towards a single goal, the deconstruction of oneself.

The game setting is simply delightful, faithful to the atmosphere of the 20s you will find yourself wandering from the (apparent) tranquility of the study with its warm colors, to the liveliness of the Viennese streets for a visit to the bookshop or a good breakfast at your trusted Café in front of the morning newspaper, all this while the world is preparing to fall into the darkest pages of history and the inner demons knock on the door (there will be more or less important encounters in the scenario of the time)

The gameplay phases alternate between sessions with patients and life simulator sessions in which you will have to manage daily aspects such as: finances, social relationships and well-being even if for obvious reasons the beating core of this title are the therapy sessions.
Referring to the sessions, since there is nothing similar on the market in the videogame field, the only combination I feel I can make is the one with the investigative genre, translated into practice you will have to study the individual cases with a lot of initial file and material evidence to then conduct a real "interrogation" with the subject in question, it will be fundamental to apply the notions of psychoanalysis, to grasp the clues in the ways of doing things and to adopt an "inquisitorial" strategy that can shed light on those in front of you and conclude with the drafting of your deductions with a lot of recommended final therapy (obviously you will have different outcomes depending on your work).

I conclude with a small parenthesis by saying that I do not have a course of study on the subject behind me, this is to say that anyone can approach the title thanks to the encyclopedias and manuals packaged ad hoc that can be consulted inside the game, there is no need to be get discouraged if you do not have a degree in psychology, but I would like to say that the most important ingredient is the commitment that the gamer will want to bring, this is fundamental, the user looking for easy emotions or a superficial experience does not will find bread for his teeth here, this is a work that wants to shake, drop the masks and question, the issues addressed are not for everyone and there is no attempt to gild the pill (rightly, in my way To see).

Recommended for all those looking for an experience of depth.

a game that digs you in. A magnetic, intense product that strikes at the heart. You immerse yourself in a smoky study, analyse clinical cases, discover new things. You read a lot, but it doesn't even feel like reading because everything serves to increase your skills! Excellent work

Freud’s Bones is a raw diamond, that can be completed in about five hours. It is the debut game of Fortuna Imperatore, an emergent and gifted game designer. Overall, the experience is well worth the money spent. If you’re inquisitive about the human mind and its complexities, Freud’s Bones is for you.

Freud’s Bones is appealing in all its features. You can investigate the minds of various patients during multiple psychoanalysis sessions. You can empathize with the patients and recognize their traumas, weaknesses and heroic attempts at facing society.
All gameplay features support the main idea behind the game: inquiring the human nature by asking questions. Why do these patients seek a controversial Freud for help? Which are the causes of Freud’s crisis? Which parts of Freud are like our own?

Have you ever had the courage to face your inner voices? Have you ever had the courage to let your inner voices control your life?

And don't worry if you are not an expert in psychology or psychoanalysis, in the game there is a clear and understandable encyclopedia for anyone who wants to delve into an experience they have never lived before.

Axel Fox's debut is a success.

I was quite skeptical about this game, a point and click adventure in 2022 is an act of courage that Fortuna Imperatore (Axel Fox) wanted to do.
I must say that after the first hour of play I had to change my mind. You are catapulted into Doctor Freud's studio and after which it is all a succession of madness, psychoanalysis, clinical cases.
The game is not even that long, around 4

The game is not even that long, around 4 hours. The price of the game is low but the quality is excellent so I recommend it to anyone who wants to take a step back in time with this type of point and click adventure but also those looking for a strange story, a Freudian one.

A MASTERPIECE. One woman to build an indie game so f** good, a story so intense and so atypical.

it has only one flaw: it ends! it bewitched me, enraptured me, it is a small game but with an extreme power: to make you forget who you are and who you want to be in order to absorb ideas, notions, conjectures. WONDERFUL

There will always be a place for games like Freud’s Bones, which have some imperfections, yes, but are also daring and willing to explore new themes. Fortuna Imperatore’s debut game takes some considerable risks, such as having to explain psychotherapy to the player in order for him to untangle the main mechanics, but it hits the mark and churns out one of the most interesting systems of recent times. Not everything else is at the same level, but there is always a clear sense of the desire not to go down paths already taken by others: from a forerunner like Freud, one could not expect anything else.

Freud’s Bones is a decent game: a unique premise brought to life by well-executed graphics, music, and interface. However, the monotonous puzzles could frustrate players.

Freud's Bones offers a brilliant take on psychoanalysis in the form of a point and click story driven adventure. The sessions with the patients are great, interesting and depict the complexity of human nature, while the other gameplay mechanics are sometimes a bit clumsy. Overall the storytelling is compelling, authentic, and it's worth the 5 hours trip, even if the game feels sometimes unbalanced and chaotic.
