Ok, I have read MANY reviews claiming this software is buggy, slow, and has very little customization. Here is the deal, you are basically programming a game, but with a very easy to use interface. If you don't have the umph in your computer, the program does act unstable, and slow. As for the customization, as long as you read the manual and work with the object scripts, you can produce a serious FPS. For those who want to use this product, my recommmendation is at least a 2 GHz processor, about 1 GB of RAM, and a hefty video card - I am using an nVidia GeForce FX 6600 with 256 on the board. The program worked fast, and made a killer sample level that I developed. The game performed like a dream! Now, for those who complained, I tried the software on a slower computer - 1.2 GHz and 512 megs of ram with onboard Intel video with only 64 megs dedicated to it. The program was very slow and very buggy and crashed alot. Bottom Line is this: If you are interested in using this application, if you have some tough hardware, you can literally create the next best FPS Game. If you are lacking in computer power, you are not going to enjoy this experience - so don't try it. If you don't have the computer power, and it doesn't work for you, don't leave a bad comment - because if you have the right hardware, the program functions perfectly. Expand

FPS creator, for being a click and build engine, was quite flexible, easy to use, and most of all, fun. I read a lot of pessimism, but with a mod to the engine, nome nice looking, high quality models, and some scripting talent, an experienced user can truly make something of current bargain bin commercial quality, or better. Overall, this game is OK. It does give you full control over layout and enemies, power ups, lighting and everything for a game, but there are downsides to this even though its not terrible. The AI isn't that good, if a you're in another room and walk past the door to another room containing enemies (doesn't matter which enemy, built in or from an add-on pack) they will be waiting for youOverall, this game is OK. Also, my last complaint is that on some computers if you are using an Administrator user, and come out of testing the game it crashes. But overall, its a simple and fun game using a drag-and-drop engine but making professional results. I suggest you buy it. Expand

Its OK, not as good as Unity but functional and fun. Glitches are unavoidable, and graphics (which I don't care about but whatever) are meh, but games are fun and the Model Packs allow new and different games. Everything can be made but don't expect to create the new Half Life or something. Fun to mess around and create games for friends, but if you want to make a complex shooter go for Unity.

The engine may have been descent a while ago, but now it's just old. It is a point and click engine. It can be somewhat limiting. The real deal breaker is how old and outdated the engine is. It doesn't even support HD even after all the updates to 2012. It has VERY outdated graphics, choppy effects and it runs pretty bad on most PCs. It isn't worth your time.

The very good engine for beginners
it's hard to make your own models
    but easy to learn scripts
it's not really that limited engine
that why I use for my fps games
you can make cutscenes and the good game in it

  1. From creating title and menu screens, scripted even zones, Overall, FPS Creator is a fantastic must-have purchase for anyone who’s interested in what goes into making a game.
  2. Don't get me wrong though, even though the end product is useless, creating your own game is fantastic fun - just don't expect to become the next Carmack. If you want to do that, start learning binary now. [PC Zone]

Good lord! This game wasn't created, it was excreted... Basically, you'd have more fun putting starved ferrets in a feedbag and strapping it to your crotch. [Jan 2006, p.46]
