Assuming your hard drive isn't already packed with community add ons, Acceleration is an absolute must buy for fans of Flight Simulator X.
-
Flight Simulator X: Acceleration really is a must-buy for fans of the series. For $30 you get a great amount of content, and the improvements to FSX overall make it worth purchasing both Acceleration and the original game if you’ve still been cruising in FS2004.
-
My bottom line is that the FSX Acceleration expansion pack is worth getting for the improvements to the infrastructure (carrier operations, Reno air racing), but that better add-on airplanes are available elsewhere. Which, now that I think about it, is pretty much how I felt about Flight Simulator X too.
-
A no-brainer for Flight Simulator X owners. And with the slipstreamed service release boosting performance dramatically (and the original down to $30), it's also a perfect reason for Flight Simulator X standbys to climb on board.
-
At $30, this is a very nice expansion for Flight Sim X, bringing not just some new aircraft but solid multiplayer elements to the fore. Fans of the Flight Sim franchise should enjoy this.
-
The bottom line is you won't find a better value, more generous or more diverse FSX add-on than this one.

PC FormatUnfortunately, what with this being a simulator, the faster you go, the more difficult the flying becomes. [Christmas 2007, p.67]
-
New aircraft, new missions, and new multiplayer racing modes make Acceleration a worthy addition for any Flight Simulation X fanatic.
-
It's an exciting business, but not one for fainthearts or fumblers. [Christmas 2007, p.76]
-
PC GamerFlight Simulation X: Acceleration is the company's first official expansion pack for its Flight Simulation franchise since 1990, and the $29.99 release adds a trio of new aircraft, dozens of new missions, and a long awaited DX10 graphics upgrade to the best-selling flight simulator. [Jan 2008, p.85]
-
PC Zone UKIt's an expansion that's clearly been designed with passion. [Jan 2008, p.82]
-
Pelit (Finland)A superb F/A-18A Hornet, carrier operations, air racing support, a fine medium-lift helicopter with a hoist and slingload capability add even more replayability to FSX. [Feb 2008]
-
On average, the thirty five new singleplayer missions have a play time of thirty minutes apiece, which when combined with the multiplayer missions, and the free flight mode, makes for an expansion pack of tremendous value.
-
Flight Simulator X: Acceleration adds a respectable amount of content to the original Flight Simulator X, especially for the $30 price tag. Although you only receive three new aircrafts, they offer significantly different flight experiences and challenges that are exemplified by the new, well-designed and interesting single-player missions.
-
The fundamental simulation aspects haven’t changed, but the action layered on top does much to eschew the series' reputation as a competent but sleepy simulation.
