    When you love playing single player first person shooters you won't like this one. I know I don't like this one. It's like playing a multiplayer game all the time with no atmosphere and only not interesting arena's. Boring game.

    goog graphics over all, but after a few hours becomes very repetitive, and boring, lack of history, does not aport anything new to FPS.

    Superbly designed old-school shooter with a lot to recommend it: powerful engine, decent levels, a nice RPG element, and a breakneck pace. Not without some problems, such as mediocre models. Yet overall this is one of the few heirs to the original Quake that gets the mixture of speed, gunning and movement right. Budget priced, but delivers A-level value.

    A pointless FPS riding the coat tails of earlier successful games, Firestarter isn't pretty, isn't fun, isn't exciting, isn't fluid, isn't necessary. Too bad, I thought a mutant carrying 4 weapons at once could be a fun protagonist. Instead, Firestarter gives us very repetitive action in bland dark rooms and on the clock. Ouch !

    If you feel like a little frenetic shooting and don't really care if it makes any sort of cohesive sense, then you won't feel bad about picking up this title. [July 2004, p.67]

    It’s lost in its own story line. While there is a great story line, the gameplay revolves nothing around it. The only thing Firestarter has running for it is the graphics.

    All the elements of a good shooter are here. Good graphics, good sound, good depth, bloody gameplay...it just doesn't add up. There's a stubborn sloppiness to the game that makes it tough to recommend.
