    F.E.A.R. 2's gameplay mechanics and graphics are solid, but its story lacks depth and the horror elements are underwhelming. Go back and play EP and PM addons for F.E.A.R. 1.

    Gran juego en todo sentido, graficamente es muy bueno, jugabilidad 10/10, historia perturbadora y una banda sonora buena para acompañar el combate contra los replicantes.

    Recomiendo inicien con el 1 y luego le den a este (aunque basicamente la historia empieza en este y el 1 se ubicaria despues de este) pero a mi gusto es mas disfrutable en el orden de salida. El juego nos dara    Gran juego en todo sentido, graficamente es muy bueno, jugabilidad 10/10, historia perturbadora y una banda sonora buena para acompañar el combate contra los replicantes.

    공포+액션이란 정말 잡기 힘든 두마리 토끼를 잡은 몇 안되는 작품. 떡밥만 던지다가 하나씩 회수해 가는 능력도 좋고 허망한 엔딩이지만 어떻게보면 그게 FEAR의 매력인듯.

    Честно говоря сиквела ждал, всякие аддоны это хорошо, но нужен был F.E.A.R. 2. А он выйти не мог. Разработчик и издатель рассорились и название ушло одним, а всё остальное другим. Я слышал про Project Origin, типа игу делает та самая Monolith которая работала над F.E.A.R. Ну типа спин офф такой. Честно говоря особого внимания не обращал. Пока не поиграл в демку.
    И ёлы палы, а игра то ничего! Короче пока ждал и название вернули и игру выпустили.
    Жаль, что сюжет всё же от спин оффа остался, Поинтмена выкинули, его место занял какой то спецназовец (сейчас имя не помню). Но у него были те же способности останавливать время, тоже порождением Альмы оказался.
    Сюжет, ну что сюжет? Видно было, что другую игру делали, а пришлось как то сюжетец подгонять под название.
    Графон мне очень зашёл, красиво.
    Шутерная часть тоже на высоте. Добавили мехи.

    Продолжение хорошее, только галлюцинаций шибко много и они раздражают также какие-то призраки которые на вас нападают.     This was also almost a bit too much action shooter for me, but it compensated with moments that almost filled my underwear.
    I mean it may not be the scariest sht ever but I spazz out at about anything when it comes to horror games. Graphics were pretty mediocre for it's time, I mean 2009 where you had MW2, Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising, Wolfenstein and Rage. The only other    9/10

    The only other FPS of 09 that had worse graphics was STALKER Call of Pripyat and god knows them developers barely had money. Weapon selection was good enough, gore was there.
    It's simply a must for FEAR fans.
    Also don't listen to any of those ret*rds down there talking bout the first F.E.A.R. having bad graphics, it was released in 2005 for fcks sake, it was only slightly worse than Urban Chaos Riot Respones or Black. I mean from 2005, Area 51 takes the cake.    … Expand

It at least put in a good effort, not trying to rest on it’s laurels, adding new weapons and action sequences. It did however lose some of the charm from the original as well so not all of the developer’s choices were good ones in my eyes. To start I’ll say that slow mo combat isF.E.A.R. 2 had big shoes to fill as I consider the original F.E.A.R. to be one of the best games I have played. It at least put in a good effort, not trying to rest on it’s laurels, adding new weapons and action sequences. It did however lose some of the charm from the original as well so not all of the developer’s choices were good ones in my eyes. To start I’ll say that slow mo combat is still fun as ever. It does seem less gory then before but I attribute that to the art style. Project Origin went for a more colourful look which made the aftermath of action scenes seem less gritty than in the original. The enemy AI also seemed to take a huge step backwards. I had the difficulty on the hardest just as I did in F.E.A.R. but in Project Origin I barely felt challenged at all. The end fight was very tough but that felt like it was because the end boss could one hit kill me very easily and often it seemed where the enemies throughout the game could not. Prior to that I barely died and didn’t feel like the enemies tried to flank me as much or work as a team as they did in the first game. They also removed the lean function in Project Origin which I am a huge fan of. The addition of the energy gun; the sniper rifle and of the laser were fun new weapons to use. I also liked how you could flip certain surfaces up to use as cover such as tables or other objects. It added a bit of spontaneity to firefights. Gone were voicemail messages from F.E.A.R. which was the main way the backstory was delivered and side plots conveyed and in their place were little tablets you could pick up that had relevant info. They just didn’t have the same charm. You could carry less health kits in the sequel but due to the lower difficulty this wasn’t an issue. The mechs that you get to use a few times in Project Origin were fun. They seemed a bit out of place but blowing things up with robot suits are always welcome I guess. The graphics were decent all around. Overall they were average to above average for the release date but considering that F.E.A.R. helped set the bar for it’s time period the fact that Project Origin only was decent is a bit of a let down. I can’t point to any one area that was bad but also can’t point to any areas that wowed me. The voice acting was pretty good overall although the characters use of profanity seemed forced at times, almost as if catering to teenagers. I actually liked where the story went from the original and would have liked to see more of Beckett interacting with Alma. I also liked how they were able to connect the characters and plot in Project Origin to the original.

    I played Project Origin on Linux using Valve’s Proton. It never crashed on me. I did notice one bug where when you first launch the game you are unable to move the character with the mouse until you Alt-tab out of the game and then go back in, after that the mouse worked fine. I am not sure if this was a Proton issue or if it happens on Windows as well. The sequel got rid of manual saves in favour of strictly using checkpoint saves which I thought was a poor choice. Alt-tab worked. There was 2 AA settings; 6 AF settings; a V-Sync toggle; an AO toggle; and 15 other graphics options to tweak. The game ran fantastic with no drops anywhere near 60 FPS or below. You can change the difficulty settings at any time.

    Overall I came away happy with Project Origin. It improved upon the original in some ways and made it worse in others but was never anything less than a great game in it’s own right. I finished the game in 7 hours and 40 minutes which felt like a good length. I paid $49.99 for the game on release and it’s still worth that in my eyes.

    F.e.a.r 2 is a great continuation, the artificial intelligence is still very good and the game made a big leap in terms of graphics, the story remains good with new revelations, however, the terror gave a slight decrease, giving a little more importance to the action.

    I started playing the games of the "F.E.A.R" series for the third game, finished the second one and loved it, I would say that it is much better than F.E.A.R 3 in terms of gameplay and history. I was not able to get scared or anything and I found the game with a not too difficulty because the enemies are very easy to kill thanks to the slow motion mode. it is a game in which I had a lot ofI started playing the games of the "F.E.A.R" series for the third game, finished the second one and loved it, I would say that it is much better than F.E.A.R 3 in terms of gameplay and history. I was not able to get scared or anything and I found the game with a not too difficulty because the enemies are very easy to kill thanks to the slow motion mode. it is a game in which I had a lot of fun and I recommend it to everyone.… Expand

    An absolutely perfect horror-FPS with a terrifying audio-visual setting, an incredibly addictive atmosphere of fear, bloody arrangement of the location and a really interesting story that makes you want to get to know it despite the heavy environment of the game.
    Certainly, this is not a game for everyone    F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin, even 11 years after its premiere, remains a great game.
    An absolutely perfect horror-FPS with a terrifying audio-visual setting, an incredibly addictive atmosphere of fear, bloody arrangement of the location and a really interesting story that makes you want to get to know it despite the heavy environment of the game.
    Certainly, this is not a game for everyone - the recipient's maturity alone is not enough - strong mental resistance will be indispensable, as Alma Wade will do everything to leave the mark of horror on the protagonist.

There are many interesting weapons in F.E.A.R. 2 and some are new to the series, for example P90 and the laser gun.

    On the other hand, there are things not so well done. The story is complex and all, but that means it's very hard to follow due to so many information you're getting at once. As for the combat system, there is no lean option this time around which is, as far as I'm concerned, a big minus for the developers. The HUD has also changed for the worse and it now feels like looking through glasses or something - kind of odd. These and some other things (the first game was also far more scarier) have killed the good old feel that was present when playing the original game, which is sad. The last thing I found disturbing is the end of F.E.A.R. 2., it is strange and it doesn't fit in.

    There are many problems with the sequel and I was a bit disappointed, but F.E.A.R. 2 Project Origin is still a pretty good game. Not as good as the first one, but still interesting enough to play to earn an 8 out of 10 score.    … Expand

    Another really good story based game, following right after 1. I did miss point man. But I felt Bucket was a good addition to progress the story. I felt the gameplay and combat was much more smooth in this game, making it a lot of fun to play.

    It's a good sequel, but not that scary :)
    It had few moments, but generally its a standard shooter with outstanding slow-motion mechanic.
    Enemies were challenging back then, which can flank you in seconds.

    The good part are the Graphics, Music, Story (excelent story telling), many scary moments (but just BOOO!!!). The gameplay and the FPS expirience are very good (heavy action secuenses). The bad.     -Mouse Accelerator: OMG why?
    -Holo-pad? the blue circle in the ground, you must pick up every single one, and read it. There is the only way to know WTF is happen, or you can skip it and miss 90% of the STORY

Sounds of combat and music throughout are perfect, shows how much love and dedication has been put into the game. Graphics although not important are still great, even on today's date.

Well, it is like 7 years later, and we are still going downhill with all the ports; in fact, today's ports are so bad that F.E.A.R. 2 doesn't even feel like a port, AND it has better graphics than today's ****    Consolization sucks.     When F.E.A.R. 2 came out, many people complained how console-oriented it was. Well, it is like 7 years later, and we are still going downhill with all the ports; in fact, today's ports are so bad that F.E.A.R. 2 doesn't even feel like a port, AND it has better graphics than today's **** which is put out by some major Publishers.

    As for the game - a very good effort. By no means it is the First F.E.A.R.. By the same token (and talking about going downhill) it surpasses F.E.A.R. 3 by a skyscraper and then some.

    Main things i liked:
    - Atmosphere - not as scary as the original, but solid. Some places kept me on edge. Well done.
    - Sound - although some tracks migrated from the original, music, sound effects, and voice acting deserves respect.
    - Story - story telling in this game is damn solid good, and it keeps you going through the game, just to find out what's next. Nice.
    - Gameplay - some pluses and minuses here (see below) but overall i had a joyful playthrough.
    - Level Design - good level design. Respect. Detailing is also pretty superb, especially if you consider today's crap.

    Things i felt needed improvement:
    - Gameplay - the game which is designed for PC GAMERS is just superior to consoles. End of discussion. It feels different. It FEELS. The Original F.E.A.R. felt like you were shooting badasses; everything had gravity and dimension. F.E.A.R. 2 is a few steps behind in that department - it just feels cartoony, not in terms of graphics, mind you, but in terms of game mechanics - when you shoot baddies, it just doesn't feel like you are shooting baddies. More like shooting stuffed toys. (Compare Hal Life and Original F.E.A.R.). Yet, again - the crap companies put out today (which is designed for consoles first) makes F.E.A.R. 2 a masterpiece.
    - Hud - although the graphics are very good in this game, the HUD just needs to go, or at least be disabled through an option.
    - Scare Factor - this is pretty minor. In some places, the horror factor felt heavy handed and scripted. But i do not agree with the other who say the entire game was like that - not at all. See Atmosphere above - you will not have to start the game with three spare pairs of underwear, but the game will keep you in the goosebumpy mood.

    Overall:
    Looking at today's trend to make games for consoles then port them (horribly!) to the PC, i cannot give F.E.A.R. 2 less than a solid 8/10.

    Dev's, please wake up! Look at some old games and remember why you became Game Designers in the first place! Start making games for PC GAMERS again.
    And Publishers, your rating is dropping rapidly. Perhaps it is time to start earning Respect that you have lost from those who supported you and saw you grow.    … Expand

L' azione fluida e senza pause, una IA pressoché perfetta e degli ambienti ben strutturati sono alcuni degli ingredienti che rendono FEAR 2 un gran gioco, alla faccia di Crytek e dei loro steriliUno dei migliori FPS là fuori assieme al primo e il terzo capitolo. La serie FEAR è la dimostrazione che non sono necessari il fotorealismo e chissà quale complessa impalcatura di gamedesign. Cons: - too short. I did it in aprox 12h but I'm a very slow player in general. Also Perseus mandate, which is an expansion took me 12h; - poor story development; - poor execution    Pros and Cons:

    + polished graphic;
    + solid shooter overall. But not as satisfying as first F.E.A.R + exp games.

    - poor execution of mech armor level segments;
    - A.I is worst than in first games;

    A highly entertaining shooter with horror elements. The game moves at a solid pace and continues to entertain throughout. The horror elements are a bit cliche at times but do well to give the game a tense atmosphere. Gun variety is decent but the most entertaining aspect of combat is usage of the slow down power. Game difficulty is on the easy side and I was able to beat it in 7 hours ofA highly entertaining shooter with horror elements. The game moves at a solid pace and continues to entertain throughout.     A worthy successor. Only minuses being that the game feels much more like a generic console shooter than the original. This is made up however by the grat story which had me completely hooked.

    After playing the first chapter (and its 2 expansions), I went onward on the next installment, and in the end I found it actually a good sequel, although not perfect, but at least it fixed what the first lacked in the first place: variety. Also, somethings changed and got both an upgrade and a dowgrade. For example, 3 medkits limit, but a stronger body armor; 4 slots in weapons, but some weapons are much weaker than usual (the shotgun is almost useless, since your rifles can kill with 3 shots to the head). We get more weapon variety at least, although few got removed (like the plasma rifle and the possibility of dual wield handguns). We don't need to upgrade our health anymore, but still can upgrade our reflexes, killing a bit of exploration from the first game. On the other hand, we aren't totally bind to use the focus and it is possible to kill also without it (but focus is still the best way). The levels now are much more interesting and a lot varied, moving from (well lighted!) skyscraper, to an abandoned city. We also get to use a mech in some parts of the game, and there's also a bit more of interaction with the levels (even if useless, the possibility to get cover by turning furniture is rather nice). If I have to mention some flaws, one of them is probably the longevity: the game is a lot shorter than the previous game (finished in about 8 hours or less; the first game is almost 10 hours and more). The "scares" in this game, even if well thought, some are just too weak and I hardly got impressed, but on the other hand the scenery is much more cured and, again, varied, even if the game is still pretty linear. And also, the story isn't totally linked to the first one: the main character is different, and initially it doesn't really connect, and even if it becomes better later on, it doesn't feel totally rewarding. All in all, I have no complains on this game: it's definitely a good upgrade, although it loses some of the scare factor, and the small flaws usually don't really ruin this game. Still not great game, but a good game and a very good sequel. Worth a try if you loved the first one.… Expand

The interspersed action sequences are very well done as things crumble and fall around you. Then you get to fight through a destroyed city.     [Challenges] This game is not too complicated. Pick up gun - go down corridor and shoot. The atmospherics are mind numbingly intense and addictive; adrenaline overdose is inevitable. I really like the way the game flips back and forth between more standard FPS run and gun - and the surreal Alma afflicted battles - the flavour is good - and then better - rinse and repeat. Choose your weapons and carry 4 - standard style armaments and the gameplay is tight Tight TIGHT.

    AI behaviour is good - you will get snipped - and you see the patterns soon enough. I played on normal mode and had a good number of reloads; sometimes you are just outnumbered - so you go back to basics - pull back to choke points - grenades, cover and head shots. This game has that bullet time kind of stuff - I did not use it except in the last battle. Hmmmm maybe I should replay this game on a more difficult mode!

    I enjoyed this game so much I will purchase FEAR3 even though the price is still forty smackers. Sometimes you just want to run and gun.

Basically, the story is solid, the scares and atmosphere in this one are improved, partially due to graphics. Graphics: This game has exceptional graphics, I knew I was in for something impressive when the download size of this game from steam (including the DLC) was nearly 15 gigabytes, a definite improvement over the original. This is one of those linear shooters where it does well to hide the linear aspect due to graphics. F.E.A.R. 1 did this fairly well with level designs, but it was still limited due to the technological capabilities of the time. F.E.A.R. 2 is just solid bad-assery in the graphics department. If you're computer can handle it on higher graphics settings, you will love it, even for a game released a few years ago, the graphics are top notch in my opinion. Another thing to note is the world detail, all the little things around the world that make it feel real, this game is so real it's almost disturbing, the interactions of the characters, the lighting, the props, it's all great. Gameplay: Well, you can't lean anymore, and I don't mind that it's gone, leaning was just another finger on my keyboard that I couldn't use, does it feel like a console port because they made the interface a little bit simpler? Not at all, the game is a solid PC pickup. It walks a fine line between dumbed down console port and decent PC shooter, the best of both worlds, simple, but not in any way boring. The AI is not worse than in the first, it's basically about the same difficulty, I assume I'm playing on Hard difficulty post-patch, cause everyone is complaining about the difficulty being too easy, yet I had a rough time on a lot of the levels. Sometimes you really gotta keep your eyes moving, and on hard, you really need to abuse the slow-mo to make it out clean (or at all, I doubt I could have beaten it without it). Multiplayer: The multiplayer component is well done it seems, I find the use of gamespy annoying, but that's just me, the maps are cool, I really like the pinball machine map, and the customizable loadouts are a nice touch to keep things fairly fresh and balanced. In fact, the only thing that hinders the multiplayer experience for the PC is the lack of players, from what I saw in my short time after buying this game there were less than 5 player hosted (no dedicated servers it appears) games going on, and the first one I joined happened to be in Russia, I'm in Canada, so my ping was awful, but I ended up joining a game where I had decent ping with the host, and it was fun! If there were more than 3 people in that match, it would have been even MORE fun. But I took what I could get, and had a great time, it almost reminded me of the good ol' AVP2 days. Technical aspects: The technical parts of the game are ok, gamespy run ranked matches I don't care for, but nobody plays ranked from what I saw, the game feels reliable, though some of my tool tips telling me what keys do what in the menus appeared to turn into french? I'm not sure, but "escape" key sure didn't say escape in the tool tip. Other than that, the only technical options this game could use is the option to quick-save (though I understand why you can't), and dedicated servers. But here's the summary, this game is enjoyable; solid graphics (often breathtaking), addictive multiplayer (but a lack of players), fantastic story, very well done, the whole direction of the game is great. The AI is challenging on hard, but certainly beatable. I got this for 10 bucks on steam, USD, and keep in mind the Canadian dollar is higher right now, and I gotta say, it's a better steal than the F.E.A.R. ultimate shooter edition for 10 bucks (FEAR plus the 2 expansions), because those didn't come with multiplayer, but THIS did. 10 or 20$ to romp around in a mech that can shred foot soldiers to pools of blood in seconds is beyond worth it alone, everything else aside. It's not perfect, but it is in no way mediocre.… Expand

In FEAR 2 all the mechanics and game play feels great, but the visual part could be alot better, with some shadows and frame rates issues FEAR 2 could be visually a lot better. The gameplay is solid, the graphics look better than they did in the original FEAR, and the story is believable. The game also had some memorable occasions like when you have to climb down into the blast crater of a small nuclear explosion and getting knocked off your feet earlier in said blast. Also the elementary school level was very scary. The scenes with Alma are truly creepy and I jumped in the game more than once. It really makes me laugh when a reviewer states as a negative "too many cheezy attempts to scare you" when that is what FEAR and FEAR2 are all about. Next they will complain that shooters use too many bullets. I wanted a game with creepiness and guns and if you also are looking for this, FEAR2, like its predecessor, does not dissapoint. Highly recommended. Also in response to Angry Nuts review, this game is rated M for Mature not T for Teen, go play a game that is designed for your age group and let the Adults have their fun.… Expand

    One of my favorite FPS of all time. Good fear factor, Alma is one scary b*tch, and a slow-mo feature make you hang onto the edge of your seat. And don't forget the graphics rock, and it has a good deal of realism / gore. Awesome game!

    The game is amazing. I'm a fan of fear and fear 2 kept it's name as one of the best horror/fps game out to date. The graphics are AMAZING, gameplay is GREAT, combat is AWESOME, game is , VERY VERY SCARY though fear was a bit more scarier imo.

    I love these games. Not innovative but personally I liked the original and I like this. My only real issue is not with this game but with this genre. I hate linear. However in its genre for me its one of the best aided mainly by the great storyline and creep atmospherics. My main criticism would be that its not creep enough if anything.

    I think this game plays in the same league as the first part of Fear! I Love the horryble atmosphere.The sound in the game is quiet amazing!!The levels were designed with so much details and (If you have all Video Settings set to Maxiumum) I think the Graphics (+Effects) are a mixture between R6Vegas 2 and Crysis... so it definitely can keep up with presently FPS! 10/10 points.

As for the game itself, well, the lighting Some people mistakenly say that the lighting in the original is better without realizing that the reason you got so many dynamic lights in the original was due to the closed off badly detailed levels. The sequel has much more detail in it's environments and it's actual lighting quality that they had to cut some of the dynamic lights in the game to make it playable on modest systems, replacing it with static lighting, which overall is a massive improvement over the old system. Those wanting full dynamic lights back better be reay to go back to the closed, dull levels of the original for the next game. As for someone saying it relies more on shock, you've got it the wrong way round, the original was the one that used the shock tactics, making you jump all the time. The sequel has a couple of these too, but it builds a more prevailing sense of unease throughout the game rather than Doom monster closet moments. The character models are fantastic for the game, with your team mates being nicely detailed and animated, which also goes for the enemies as well. The AI for me has been fine, but I know some people wanted a bigger challenge which is one of the improvements in the next patch which has been confirmed by the devs, along with DLC. The game has been bug-free for me the whole 3 times I have been through it, so I can't comment on any bugs in the game. The lack of lean is distracting, but anyone who lets something like that put them off this brilliant game is a fool. The story does enough to keep you held throughout, and unlike the first game, it is told well enough that you do not need to seek out external material to explain everything to you. For me it's alot more interesting than the first, more detailed and more variation, don't let the naysayers put you off, try the demo, if you like that you'll love the full game.… Expand

    The original F.E.A.R. is still my favorite video game - the right balance of story, action, and tension. But this feels too much like a clone of Crysis - more action and less tension. The new qualities seem offset by the lamer AI, the extra backstory is cancelled out by the obtuse last two chapters (including the ending), and the extra battle strategies don't fit in.     Fear 2 has some of the same issues that apply to most sequels, it's overly simplistic, too easy, shorter, and can't capture the originality and mood of the original. The sound issues some people have reported appear similar to the one for Call of Duty 4, which I solved on my machine by plugging an extra pair of headphones in the front microphone ports. I wonder if some of the people complaining about the graphics are running it on lower quality settings as I found the graphics amazing, and probably the first game to slow down my 8800GT. Overall amazing graphics, decent storyline, but still lacking compared to the original.… Expand

    Looks different... obviously some people can not tell the difference. It's the same bloody engine Jupiter EX. The visuals are the same, the only thing different is the main character himself in terms of story. Game play is pretty much the same if not more tactical than before. The game is fun, there's more interactivity, there's more questions to be answered, and of course there's more fear. Every step of the way feels unique though the weapons were never meant to be "truly original" like the gravity gun. It felt good... really good, yes like "John Woo" good.… Expand

    I'll keep it simple, the graphics and gameplay are awesome. If you love FEAR then you will like number 2. Multiplayer is fun but missing one of everyones favourite game types from the first. However I'm sure they will add this to FEAR 2 eventually. Scary and fun so yeah 8 out of 10, not quite perfect.

    No real complaints. Played well, was fun, ect. If only it wasn't so short it would of gotten a 10 from me. However that's nothing to worry about, multilayer will fill the frustration with the play time and win over any player.

    Sure it's no perfect game, but it does things right. I think ratings under 80% are to low, this game is a hell of fun and you can see the enhancements from the first game. I can reommend it to everyone who likes shooters, give it a try. Also I like the Steam platform, it updates the game automatically, the friends and community system is great. I have Steam now for over 3 years and I Sure it's no perfect game, but it does things right.     86/100 One of the better first person shooters I have played in a while but it is lacking in ceratin areas. If you liked the other F.E.A.R. games as I do I am sure you will love this one. The beginning may turn you off but the overall length of the game and graphic quality make up for it. It has a fantasic audio and music soundtrack much better then its three predecessors. I remember having to suffer through the first three games with 7.1 and random high pitched static that would happen in ceratin areas making the game unplayabe ending in a restart of the game. In all honesty it is probably the best soundtrack/audio I have experienced in a fps. I think it is that good. Besides the lack-luster feel that most Hollywood back games seem to have the artwork and style is good though I find the slow mo and death effects not as good as in the first game. I found the gameplay erratic and unusually easy on the 'normal' level with easy mob fights and very hard sniper segments but this should hopefully be better at a higher level. The storyline is very strong in this and ties all the rest together contrary to the confusing ending that I very muched liked. It is a fun ride and worth playing. If you like first person shooters it is a must. It is definately a must if you like to be scared. Monolith's horror games are slowly becoming some of the best in the genre. Oh is it worth the price? Are any of the first-run games? I am sure there should be two or three expansions out of this. On a personal note, Ah Monolith, lose Warner Bros Games. Hollywood and gaming does not mix...sorry. Hollywood can ruin a classic series of games and has no business in the gaming industry. They ah have a tendacy to make the quality of things how should I put it...go down. And that is a poltie way of explaining what happens when they get involved and their money is more imporant that the actually art itself. Good game guys.… Expand

    This game is spooky and fun. There seems to be a surplus of ammo and armor, but if you can get past that, or just not pick it up every time it's there, you will find a decent challenge. Alma continues to creep me out, just like she did in F.E.A.R. 1. I never played Perseus Mandate so I can't compare it to that, but so far it's on par with the original game.     Fear 2 is another awesome times good shooter from the forge of WB Games.
    Alma is back and now you can even attack.
    The graphics are a lot better than the predecessor and also the engine can be clearly seen.
    There are also lots of shock moments e.g. at the beginning of the game.

    From me full 10 points.

    FEAR was the first and only game that scared the hell out of me. I thought that could never be achieved again. I was wrong! FEAR 2 has more breath-taking moments that scares me alot. It's one in a kind! The effects are great, the graphics had a nice update, beter leveldesign, etc. The only bad thing that's bad is the recyclingpart.     One of very few games worth $50 bucks, I like games that have constantly evolving narrative in single player, and replay value in multiplayer, and Project Origin has both.

    What it adds - the more capacious level design, the daylight, the mech bits, the cover system - doesn't amount to much more than a garnish of new ideas on an old chicken salad of a game. But as I said, the magic of F.E.A.R. is certainly in position. That basic pleasure of time slowing, of watching a death ballet unfold as glass shatters, masonry crumbles and bodies cartwheel with morbid elegance - it's all intact, and it's as incredible to behold as ever.     After the embarrassment of The Perseus Mandate, F.E.A.R. 2 should be in consideration for comeback player of the year. While the multiplayer is weak and the mood won’t make people forget Dead Space any time soon, the solid action core makes it worth a play.
