Dec 10, 2025Exquisitely designed with astonishingly deep gameplay mechanics, Farthest Frontier is the second masterpiece in the simulator genre this year that will impress fans for years to come.
-
Oct 27, 2025Farthest Frontier is a game that can be both relaxing and challenging if the players want it so. The lovers of measured city building gameplay can find it very appealing, as each action is rewarding in both visual and gameplay sides. However, for a strategy game it doesn’t have enough varieties for military or offensive building, thus hardcore fighters shouldn’t judge it harshly. Overall, the game has potential to win over even more players than it already did in Earle Access, taking the place among other famous representatives of the genre. It has a lot to offer and even more potential to grow further.
-
Oct 23, 2025Farthest Frontier manages the hard task of being both accessible and deep, especially when players engage with its economic side. Players can jump in, tell their villagers to cut down some trees, build a few houses, and get engrossed as they try to keep villagers alive and thriving. The crop rotation system is so good that other titles in the genre should steal it. The user interface can be a little overwhelming, while the lack of any historical context might make it hard for players to keep their motivation. Farthest Frontier doesn’t try to remake the foundation of its genre (it still works on a grid), but it is focused, detailed, and well-balanced.

Oct 22, 2025Farthest Frontier impresses with its well-designed survival gameplay and detailed graphics, but it also requires a lot of patience.
-
Oct 23, 2025Surely, this one’s not the ‘farthest frontier’ of what this genre is capable of. But Crate managed something arguably better: presenting you with a city-builder that feels like coming home.
-
Oct 22, 2025Farthest Frontier has its issues but still manages to be one of my new favorite city builders thanks to the sheer amount of depth in its economy and attention paid to gorgeous, expansive city building. Though it lacks some options in the logistics department and the UI is hard to look at, fans of the genre should find a title worth investing in with this deep colony builder.

Jan 26, 2026A great, naturalistic alternative to Anno, though it doesn't quite reach the level of the greatest strategy games.
