    Far From Noise
    a punch to the gut
    Far from noise is an interactive narrative game… It’s actually less of a game and more of an exercise for your thoughts, for your mind, and your heart and your soul… At least it was for me... This game takes a little more than an hour and a half to get through... You’re balanced on the edge of a cliff inside an old rusty car… With no immediate means    Far From Noise

    Far from noise is an interactive narrative game…
    It’s actually less of a game and more of an exercise for your thoughts, for your mind, and your heart and your soul…
    At least it was for me...
    This game takes a little more than an hour and a half to get through...
    You’re balanced on the edge of a cliff inside an old rusty car…
    With no immediate means of escape you’re assured of your doom…
    The engine won’t start, there’s no one around…
    You begin to talk to yourself…
    You can be optimistic or pessimistic
    Calm yourself or worry yourself...
    You’re constantly given choices in how you interact with thoughts and ideas as they present themselves...
    But as you do this you’ll be visited by animals, and I’ll keep this as spoiler free as possible...
    But you talk to these animals... until once chooses to stay with you…
    And you talk to them through the night, about your past, about the uncertainty of your future...
    of your current situation and your desperation to get out of it…
    but this slowly fades as you get lost in the world around you.. In the stars... in your thoughts…
    this is a game that will really make you think and feel…
    I’m going through a bit of a break up right now so I couldn’t help but to attach this to this game... to attach what it was saying to what I was going through…
    And because of that, some parts made me emotional, and others in a way freed me, and gave me hope
    But at the same time I felt anxiety and worry..
    Like my problems meant nothing, while at the same time I was being handed a solution.
    I was angry with the way the game ended, and I won’t say why...
    But I felt that it lost touch with its message, and then I watched it again... and it punched me harder than part previous had.
    Far from noise is a beautiful game that if you let it, will let you reflect on yourself and life.
    Don’t pass it up.

    Far From Noise is not, strictly speaking, a game.

    I've played "walking simulators," like Gone Home, and dialogue games, like Doki Doki Literature Club. This is not like those. You have dialogue choices, but each one influences no more than a handful of lines. There is no real interaction, no discovery, no choice, no consequences. It's a silent film with no action, a philosophical    Far From Noise is not, strictly speaking, a game.

You have dialogue choices, but each one influences no more than a handful of lines. There is no real interaction, no discovery, no choice, no consequences. It's a silent film with no action, a philosophical diatribe with no conclusion. I knew it was short--it had to be, for how little there is here--so I stuck it out to see how it ended. I was disappointed.

    Maybe the philosophy will resonate with some people. I am not one of those people. For me, the experience was boring and pointless. I would recommend it only if you're interested in a meditation on mindfulness more than in a video game.    … Expand

    Far from Noise is not a game for everybody, but it is a game that everybody should play. Amazing narrative, a remarkable story and an incredible visual style are the elements that make this videogame a true piece of art.

    I enjoyed the meandering conversation and found the main character to be relatable. She’s at a point in her life where she’s ambivalent about what she wants, and she wants to recapture simpler times from her childhood. These are feelings that many of us have experienced before, and Far From Noise is a kind of guided exploration of how we can choose to view those moments of terrified paralysis.
