    This is the most underrated Far Cry game. The world is so cool and the two rival tribes add a lot to the world. The combat is so satisfying, the characters are so interesting, and the language is a really cool addition. The main story is also very cool and follows a very intriguing tale. This game encapsulates the Far Cry charm in a very interesting setting.

    Not going to write a real detailed review since the game is ~7 years old, but just did a recent re-play of it, and it's still a lot of fun. This was my first playthrough with an HDR monitor, too, and that really made a big difference in the color of this particular game.

    Mechanics were a lot of fun, the world was pretty, the story was well-told and I enjoy the beast-taming mechanics.    Not going to write a real detailed review since the game is ~7 years old, but just did a recent re-play of it, and it's still a lot of fun. This was my first playthrough with an HDR monitor, too, and that really made a big difference in the color of this particular game.

    Mechanics were a lot of fun, the world was pretty, the story was well-told and I enjoy the beast-taming mechanics.

    Strongly recommended.

    Game play length is around 31 hours to do 100% completion.

    Uma proposta muito interessante. O clima tribal combina muito bem com o lado místico de far cry, mas infelizmente isso limita muito o jogo. O arsenal não é muito interessante. No geral, todo o jogo passa se tornar meio repetitivo, e mais pela exploração que pelo combate eu continuei explorando. Jogo bom, mas faltou um pouco mais.

    The idea of the whole game was original and pretty good. But when facing the reality it just doesn't quite make any sense and it kinda gets boring after one playthrough. The first few hours of the game were a blast tho.

    This game got bad user reviews.....because...umm?? Because no guns?? Honestly i never understood hate for this game. Anyone who buys this game should already know that it takes place 10 000 years ago, what did you expect? This is solid, even from "time travel" perspective, there are so many cool extinct animals and overall vibe of this game is really chill/relaxing.

    Поиграл 1.5 часа. Игра довольно экспериментальная. Весь огнестрел заменили на луки. Добавили копья, дубинки. Поменяли сеттинг. Поменяли кучу механик. С другой стороны в этой игре нет как такового сюжета и в геймплей добавили довольно много гринда. Игра неплохая.Поиграл 1.5 часа. Игра довольно экспериментальная. Весь огнестрел заменили на луки. Добавили копья, дубинки. Поменяли сеттинг. Поменяли кучу механик. С другой стороны в этой игре нет как такового сюжета и в геймплей добавили довольно много гринда. Игра неплохая.

    I didn't play FC4. I am very lucky. I don't care if it's similar.
    It's the only game I've made 100%.
    I wish I could forget and play again.

    Fan boys cry and complain about this and rate it poorly because they have too much bias based on previous titles. I love when a franchise creates something unique and provides a fresh new world with the loved formula people enjoy. No other developer has done a caveman themed FPS game before and hasn't after this so this game is a gorgeous display of ingenuity.

Slower paced, more relaxing, wilderness 10 000 years ago, no guns, etc. That was the whole point, to make something different and in my opinion it worked. Now there's two types of Far Cry games to play FC3 and Primal and that's great.     The last good Far Cry. I don't understand why it's so low-rated on Metacritic. Great game overall. Very atmospheric, the gameplay is fun, the story is ok. It's not as great as FC3 and 4, mainly because there are no guns. You're fighting mostly with sticks, stones, arrows, spears which I understand is not as fun as rifles.     Душная собиралка-гриднилка про умба юмбов. Думал будет раст, оказался пиде... Короче вот вроде и фаркрай, вроде и первобытность, но всё равно серо, уныло и скучно. Юбики игры делать давно разучились. Единственное что понравилось так это возможность оседлать медведя и кидать копья в дагестанцев.     The game looks great even in 2021, but boring quests and the lack of a main story are very bad for this game. Well-designed nature, quite memorable characters, nice graphics and excellent performance. All this pales before you get bored of the game very quickly.

    Primal had me gripped heavy to my screen trying to understand all that the world had to offer. I loved taming animals and riding them around. I loved running and seeing the wildlife. I think that people expected some intense gameplay like other titles in the series but instead were met with something I felt was more down to earth.

    Remains one of my favourites in the series and I doubt that'll change anytime soon.    … Expand

    I played in survival, normal difficulty. Game was pretty easy just some game mechanics are absolute trash.

    Gameplay is SOOO bothersome

    You will spend your time playing in a BLACK and WHITE environment ( ability to allow to see targets)

    Your sliding will never be used because it change camera direction to the sky so you have to lift your mouse on top of your mouse pad and drag it down EVERY TIME YOU SLIDE so I stopped doing it and regret to release the sprint button before I do.

    The way it goes from day to night in less than 30 sec is absolute trash ( you cannot plan accordingly and during that time my powerful computer struggled) so game isnt even well optimized

    Combat is trash because the movement are so slow that if you try to move your feet and hit at the same time is NOT POSSIBLE

    After every hit or being hit for like 5-6 sec you are standing still making fights horrible.    … Expand

    I love the setting of this game. It's also very well optimized. Story is nothing special but it's not bad. Graphics are beautiful Getting 100% in it is a very pleasant experience. But the game itself is another ubisoft game with all of those collectibles and repetitive side quests and that's why it's not an 8 for me.

So let me tell you what I think about the game. Right from the start, I would say that I like Far Cry Primal and therefore I am one of his fans, but I say more because I would rather take a quill than a flint. Far Cry Primal had anFar Cry Primal caught quite mixed opinions. For someone, a great change. For some, crap and for some, the fact that this is the best part of the series. So let me tell you what I think about the game. Right from the start, I would say that I like Far Cry Primal and therefore I am one of his fans, but I say more because I would rather take a quill than a flint. Far Cry Primal had an interesting idea to throw a series of prehistoric jackets, which I think worked and surprisingly very well. At Far Cry, I always had weapons and some location (preferably an island) for that, but I must say that prehistory was also great, it had its charm. Graphically, the game was about it, I would say perhaps the same as Far Cry 4. I would not see any problem with that. Far Cry 4 does look beautiful. What? So this also applies to Primal. The story here may be a little worse compared to the already mentioned four or not at all three, because it was something unreal about the story, mainly thanks to Vaas. Vaas was simply the best villain that Ubisoft can hardly beat, but for example Pagan was also great and the villains are also great here. Yes, there are negatives. We have more of them here. Everyone has their own base that you have to recharge. Of course, you can't do that right at the beginning and you have to improve a lot. The enhancements here work for the style of three and four. You can take all the bad guys dead at the end of the game, but you won't get the headlines, so I didn't know what to do with it, and then I found out after reading on various forums that it was necessary to improve my seat. No need for max. Unfortunately, I don't really know how much myself, but simply after some improvement, you should see the final cut-scene, which ends the story. But why am I telling you all this? Because I was a little disappointed after the finish and I thought I expected something more from the end. Первые часы игры были для меня крайне обещающими, но с каждым следующим игра превращался в сплошную рутину, фарм ресурсов, захват тупых вышек качующих из игры в игру и сюжет аля мы хороши, а они плохие и если мы их убьём будет хорошо (полный бред). Механики с животными, хорошая оптимизация, приятное управление, всё эти плюсы не могут перекрыть даже пару критических минусов. Игра пустышка, о которой нечего абсолютно сказать после прохождения, миллион тупых квестов в стиле подай и принеси, есть пару интересных квестов, интересных персонажей, герой ничего из себя не представляет, какова его мотивация и интересы тоже не ясны. Стать самым сильным приматом? Игра элементарна, проходил на максимальном уровне сложности, за 24 часа открыл всю карту и завершил игру на 80%, в планах было выбить 100, но пылесосить 10-15 часов тупые задания и дурацкие пещеры лабиринты как то не особо захотелось. Максимальная оценка этому проекту 6 с натяжкой, реальная 4. Не понимаю как люди могут ставить этой игре оценки 8-9, сложно представить что об этой игре будут помнить через пару лет, хоть и эта рецензия написана уже в 2021, игра прошлась исключительно на безрыбье, да и комп не позволяет играть во что хочешь. Для сторожил серии far cry, нормальная забава на 20-30 часов, для людей которые играют в игры ради отдыха тоже отличная забава на пару неделек, но для геймеров которые хоть как то требовательны к игре, не тратьте своё время попусту… Expand

Because if the story is short, stupid, or it doesn't exist at all, and the game-play with bugs, copied 1 in 1, or too illogical - the "house of cards" collapses and all minor controversial moments immediately become the main problems of the game. And it happened with this one: A stupidly copied map of the 4th part, an almost empty plot, a rude connection of player to gathering loot and materials, extremely awkward game-play shortening (Enemy looting - slap once, tame a wild animal - twist your hands for three seconds). This is all extremely stupid and even if in fact it wasn't a developer's plan, it is very strongly creates the impression of greed, as if this game was made only in order to sell it, without caring at all about the quality of the product and the interest of the players.

Spent a bunch of time scaling a huge cliff [i think i was supposed to go up it but i can't tell because your waypoint will often be wildly inaccurate with height] only to have a mammoth angrily chase me off the cliff to my death, i didn't do anything to anger it!     If we will talk about map, here have interest moment. Let’s start with that – map is copyright from Far Cry. Please, don’t think that is bad, just fact. It so similar. Also, it cut off on two sides – south and north, although all main plot action takes only south side. Weird. Besides, in air always staying frog, that decrease visibility range. Interest, but I don’t see far away.

    And now let’s take up the plot. It tells us about Takkar – main hero, - who after accident with his comrade during hunting on a mammoth, walking by traces his tribe Wenja. Trought some time he found girl, which lead him in places where earlier lives Wenja – after their kill or slavery tribe Urus. She want revive tribe Wenja and you help her do this.

    You will fight with another tribes (their two) and save slavery for your tribe. Also you will extend your village and increase population. My opinion – world is beautiful, plot boring as a caterpillar. We have two enemy tribes and, it fact, two bosses. And first, and second is strong similar, bosses is so boring. Tribes different only in outfit and a few abilities. It’s usually for Far Cry, when you come in alien places and kill everyone, with anthem – I defend my tribe. (smile)
    How talking Russian revolutionaries – For all good and against all bad. (Adore this quote)

    Boring enemies, okey, but what you tell about your allies? The same thing. They do not remember me, they only stay in villages and give you tasks – that’s don’t do their real person, and all work do you, what do all of they? Nothing. In final of game is so boring and useless. Together with six nonames enjoy win of Wenja. Gorgeous. That’s all.

    And now let’s tell about whether proved world?

    In first, flora and fauna, a few don’t proved. Saber-toothed tigers, giant irish deer cave bears already died, mammoth yet live, but already not in Europe. Coniferous replace deciduous tree.

    In second, Slavery don’t be popular. Probably, people look like else, they were big massive, most weight and had big head. Concerning about language – we don’t know, that’s question is so controversial even in stage Neolithic.

    In my final word will be like this – Game is good, but not over this. If you like Far Cry series, why you waiting for? Go in game. And if you want to deep in primal world, you should try play.

    Despite the sheer awesomeness of a Far Cry game having it's own primal language and a story based around stone-age tribal warfare, Primal is essentially a re-skin of Far Cry 4, with less gameplay options and a more boring to traverse world

It never gets boring and a very interesting concept. It can make a person dream and it never stops being exciting.

    Плюсы:
    1) Из плюсов могу выделить огромный животный мир, Можно покататься на саблизубых тиграх на мамонтах и Т.Д, да и самих зверей вагон и маленькая тележка
    2) В игре очень важен стелс и он хорош, но это в серии и так было хорошо развито

    Итог :

    Игру я не советую по причине плохой оптимизации, скучного геймплея и таки же скучных квестов , плохая карта и скучная как и вся игра, и из-за плохих МПСИ и глав героев и антагонистов, и маленького разнообразия оружия.

    Я не хейтер Far Cry это прекрасная серия, но ране упомянуто это вызжатая корова где есть хорошие игры и есть плохие ( Советую Игры из серии ) Far Cry 3-4-5 ( Ну и в принцыпе Blood Dragon Но это на любителя кому то может не зайти)

I didnt have any expectations before i start, i was ready for something new and unique. But the plot is awful and hardly understandable, gameplay seem unclear and exhausting by its boreness. Os gráficos impressionam muito - principalmente no ultra - e a otimização é incrivelmente boa para a ubisoft. O jogo rodou muito bem no Ryzen 1660 e RTX    Um dos jogos mais lindos graficamente que já joguei, mas é só isso!

    Esse, definitivamente, foi o aspecto mais chamativo do jogo. Eu zerei ele seu ano de lançamento mesmo, no Xbox One, e por conta de uma promoção, consegui jogá-lo PC.     A gameplay é, como de costume, muito boa e satisfatória, contudo... algo de novo - que realmente mudasse um pouco essa linha do Far Cry 3 e 4 - seria muito bem aceito por mim. Se fosse mais lenta e te punisse mais pelos erros, talvez fosse mais interessante.

    You can also tame beasts. There are beasts that could be tamed easily, but there are also beasts that you have to beat them up first before taming them. And those beasts are usually very strong, it makes taming them a very rewarding experience.

    So to sum it up, if you like games like Resident Evil 4 or The Last of Us where it puts you to the limit to survive, you will probably appreciate Far Cry Primal too (but remember to play on Survival Mode).

    Normal Mode + Normal Difficulties = 6.5/10

    This and FC3 are my fav in the series. While I love FC3 for Vass and the amazing island vibes, this is another story. I always wanted a game taking place in this time period and I've got what I wanted. Loved the vibe, the places, the story, the music, everything. It was an amazing experience and someday I'll replay this one. Now to quote Soulfly... back to the primitive! Pickens approves it!

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I've been playing the Far Cry franchise since the beginning, and with its ups and downs, I have to say this is the worst installment of the lot.

    We all know it's a rehash of Far Cry 4; that's okay. The problem is that they did almost nothing to conceal that. Ubisoft could have used the groundwork of Far Cry 4 and then altered it enough to give a unique experience, but they chose instead to barely dress it up and change almost none of the mechanics. That's not acceptable. Not at the prices they ask.

    The story is practically non-existent. And God is it lonely. There's almost no one to talk to, no characters to bond with or hate, and no real driving motivation to why we should play the game to begin with. There's just nothing compelling here. As far as story and character are concerned, it's all very shallow. No depth whatsoever. It could have been so much better. Your brother dies, your tribe is on the brink of extinction. Missed opportunity #1.

    The terrain is so broken and difficult, I wonder if they were aiming to make a 12,000 year old simulator. Seriously, if the map shows a road, and there's a cliff in the way, that's a problem. And of course, you have to 'unlock' the grappling hook to go any farther. Pathetic. Why not fully embrace the open world concept and give us multiple ways to get where we have to go? Missed opportunity #2.

    Stop making me go certain places just to be able to build a damned tool. Just lay out what is required to build it, and make me go find those items. This negates the entire concept of Far Cry. Ubisoft says open world games are the future, but they sure as hell don't act like it. They also did this in Far Cry 5. "Do what you want, until we tell you it's time to do something else." Missed opportunity #3.

    Hunter vision, bee bombs, poison clay pots? At this point the game has gone from clumsy FPS to magic fantasy junk. The idea of having real hunting mechanics and relying on scent, sound, and sight sounds amazing. When you are crafting a game based on a specific historical period where no one knew what a germ was, but has magic laser eyesight....You've lost the plot. Playing in 10,000 B.C. is interesting enough. You don't have to give me magical powers to dress it up. Missed opportunity #4.

    As for everything else, I like FC series. My favorite is FC3. I like the gameplay, because the story pretty much always sucks, more specifically story missions a lot of which are forced and sometimes even ridiculous. But the propaganda that they're trying to push more and more in every new entry of the series is getting out of hand. I usually disregard that and just focus on free roam gameplay which is what I love about Far Cry. And yes, it is a reskin, but I'm frankly OK with it - they put a spin/skin on all familiar things, it was a nice break before the proper entry of the series.    … Expand

The protagonists are boring and the story is totally uninteresting.     Fun Far Cry game play. Kick ass in the first couple of hours. Then it's hard to ignore that it exactly like the other games but a different skin. Great while it lasted. Too bad it didn't last long. Story is poop. Graphics are OK. New to Far Cry? Try. Not? Don't bother.

    Big fan of the Far Cry series but this was a "no go" for me. Played it for about 12 hours and just got bored like most. It was generally because none of the characters were interesting since they didn't speak any English (yes I know there are subtitles) and instead spoke gibberish, story seemed pretty much just strengthen the Wenja tribe which got boring as time went on, the CQC was so badBig fan of the Far Cry series but this was a "no go" for me. Played it for about 12 hours and just got bored like most.     I could complain about many more problems like the outdated graphics, poor checkpoint placement, lazy map design (heard that the map layout is very similar to Far Cry 4) but in other words it's pretty much a game that gets boring and frustrating over time. Don't get me wrong riding animals is pretty cool but everything else just seemed sort of "disappointing".    … Expand

    Far Cry is back again
    this time its come with great gameplay, great graphics, great new petting system, great open world, great missions, great story and many more
    and the only reason i had a problem with this was that this is a copy cat from other far-cry games

    I love how they use an entirely made up language for the primitive tribes. It really adds to the authenticity and realism needed for immersion. The gameplay is simple, fast-paced and cool as **** Silently taking out cavemen with arrows to the head and sending your bloodthirsty sabre-tooth tiger after unsuspecting villagers is extremely satisfying.

    Looks flashy but has little to offer that you haven't seen before. Basically a re-skinned version of Far Cry 3/4. Boring to the bone once you get the hang of it. Everything is confusing, the difficulty is terribly unbalanced, visuals can be an eyesore. Basically, I don't think this is worth the money unless you get it for the price of a cheap DLC.

    This game is okay. The story is god awful. The only reason I rate it THIS high was the always great gameplay. But it saves it just barley. The story is still bad and horrible.

    I always wanted to be some dude in 10,000 BC - not. This game is boring! Especially after playing something like Infinite Warfare. It looks great but its all a waste in such a dull setting. Play any other Far Cry game instead.

Learning to control beasts, finding new places, taking out outposts using only my pets, that suicidal redneck cave-man... That was wonderful. I haven't felt it since FC3.

    A great far cry game, for lovers of wildlife and nature. A hunting game, where taming beasts and stealth are more important than typical fps quick aim. Fast paced, beautiful landscapes, interesting physics.
    Yeah, story is not so refined or engaging, but it's stone age...it's about revenge, violence, survival. The strength of few men against nature and rival tribes.

    A great game i have played all the far cry games and this is my favorite.Fantastic graphics and game play.
    TIP : don't use the owl ever it ruins the immersion and play it with a head set ' OMG the sounds are amazing.
    I love just getting lost in the land of Oros.

    Retarded like all last Far Cry, in middle and late game you need to put 5-6 arrows in enemy to kill or if this warchief nothing change in far cry 4 in bossy enemy you need few mags to kill in this game you need 20 arrows and 5 spear to kill them in naked chest. Enemy don't have armor or smothing like this so after few arrows they looks like **** porcupine but still alive.

    I like this game. I know, I know, there is no guns, no cars and no chopters, but still it is a good game. Why? Well, firts of all, it is very original, the story is convincing and well written. The game is also full of emotion every aspect of it has been well planned and designed. Plus, the graphics are excellent as well as the AI. Ubisoft has made another good job and, as I said before, II like this game. I know, I know, there is no guns, no cars and no chopters, but still it is a good game. Why? Well, firts of all, it is very original, the story is convincing and well written. The game is also full of emotion every aspect of it has been well planned and designed. Plus, the graphics are excellent as well as the AI. Ubisoft has made another good job and, as I said before, I miss the fireguns and the granades of those magnificent Farcry 1,2,3 and 4, this is a wonderfull game. THANKS UBISOFT, YOU DID IT AGAIN.     In my rating i am not looking at the rest of the series or ubisoft but just Far Cry Primal.
    The game was a lot of fun and i am looking what they could have done better. More story line and characters. More crafting like shelters, huts and armor. More animals like a polar bear being able to ride a cavebear or a rhino and some more. and i am missing rain.    I think it is a great game.
