  1. All in all, Vaas: Insanity paves the way for some stellar downloadable content for Far Cry 6 that is already more conceptually interesting than anything in Far Cry 5. Vaas' experience, while perhaps telling us a little bit too much about the ambiguous villain, co-opts the idea of a rogue-like competently to offer a new twist on the formula, but lead by a familiar face.

You can rush through this DLC rogue-lite or you can complete it and savour the moment. The gun-play is tight and the enemy AI flanks well and can present a challenge. I needed to upgrade my pistol skillz quite a bit, but that was a nice challenge. Weapons are quite limited and this moved me away from my usual loadout, so it was fresh and new.
It's a very well crafted map, visually impressive, lots of Z-axis.
I had a few quibbles with VAAS's characterisation. He is a bit repetitive, ugly, twisted, unimaginative. I liked the original VAAS more. But I didn't come for the story. I came for challenging game-play. And anyway, it all looked very pretty.
