    this game is a disaster. after the beginning the game falls apart like a bad marriage. the game makes you fight high level enemy's at the very beginning [the first mission] not to mention how bland the gameplay and story is. disappointment after playing new vegas.

    I'm sure that someone feels this is the best Fallout game of all time, maybe even THE best game of all time. I am not that person. This game feels like baby's first shoot-em-up, the gun play feels atrocious (it's 2008 why do none of the guns have iron sight aiming), the story is so linear it's almost comical, and none of the exploration even matters.
    Mainly, none of the quests matter.    I'm sure that someone feels this is the best Fallout game of all time, maybe even THE best game of all time. I am not that person. This game feels like baby's first shoot-em-up, the gun play feels atrocious (it's 2008 why do none of the guns have iron sight aiming), the story is so linear it's almost comical, and none of the exploration even matters.
    Mainly, none of the quests matter. Even the most ardent defenders of this game can point to 2 good quests, Wasteland Survival Guide and Oasis. Wasteland Survival Guide feels like a tutorial mission for the mid-game; "Learn about radiation and limb damage", "learn about x location" and by the time you finish the first chapter it's worn out its welcome. Oasis is...fine, but everything seems designed so that you'll never find it, from it only being accessible through a thin mountain path right to the very north, to it's location only being given to you via random encounter. Half the locations are entirely useless, providing nothing but set dressing and maybe a bobble head or skill book (if you're lucky). The only reason this isn't a 0/10 is because some characters are pretty fun and likeable, and some of the setpieces like Tranquility Lane and the Liberty Prime battle are somewhat enjoyable.     In Russian region a can`t buy this game, besides all Bethesda games blocked in Russia. It`s so stupid. Non-politics games.

    wasted many hours exploring the waste land, this was the entery that got me into the franchise though i do struggle to replay FO4 as the story is pretty bland. still a better story than FO4.

    People said this was the worst thing to happen to Fallout when it was first released. Bethesda had to prove them wrong twice over.

    One really easy way to describe this game is… boring.

    To start off, you’re born. Bit cliche, but fine. You you spend 5 minutes listening to an unskippable cutscene where you pick your name and looks, then spend another 5 minutes walking around as the slowest **** baby ever and choose your special stats while your dad rambles on about some **** bible verse I still can’t remember. Then the    One really easy way to describe this game is… boring.

    To start off, you’re born. Bit cliche, but fine. Then the game forces you to interact with the most boring npcs in the world at your 10th birthday party for another 5 minutes and then teaches you how to aim and shoot like any person with above a room temperature IQ should know. You then take a meaningless quiz which takes **** ages and choose tag skills. If you haven’t turned off the game yet, you finally get to leave the vault. But not before you run past guards who want to kill you for no reason! Then, come to the shocking realisation that was just the tutorial. An amazing quote by Mr Howard himself, “when you step out that vault, it feels like you’ve already spent you’re entire life in there” yes Todd, I literally have spent my entire **** life in there. Freedom at last! What will the world contain! Amazing people, places, hidden secrets? Nope, just hundreds and hundreds of copy pasted bushes with the occasional house with some ammo inside to make you feel like you’re not just holding down W. The real problem with this game isn’t the fact that the devs didn’t put good content in, because there are great missions and stories in the game, but the fact that they didn’t let players find any of it. After I finished the game for the first time, I was happy and thought, wow, that was fun. Then I looked at my second monitor and realised I had a hundred tabs open all along the lines of: “how do I find _____ fallout 3”, “how to start _____ quest fallout 3”, “where is ____ fallout 3”. This game simply is not fun unless you know how to play it already, or if you know where everything is already, the game gives you no sense of direction of where to find the fun bits, all it does is put a tiny little marker in the corner of the screen telling you where to go to find a clue about your father who you already forgot about.

    Стрельба в игре кривая что капец спасает только система VATS. Сюжет средний, чтобы надеть силовую броню нужно умение! Какое нафиг умение просто надень. Оружия много но все оно кривое, и мне очень интересно почему враги ни одной пули в меня не промазали. Радио «Новости Галактики» если просто ходит исследовать мир и не выполнять сюжет Тридогнайт повторяет одно и тоже про выходца из убежища.Стрельба в игре кривая что капец спасает только система VATS.     Look I can completely respect anybody's opinions and stuff for liking this game, and I'm not saying you can't enjoy Fallout 3, but you have to admit that Fallout 3 is objectively the worst Fallout, as there is little to no emotional stakes and dilemmas for your character to come across in the world of Fallout 3. As in, there is no real choices to be made as you can only ever be either aLook I can completely respect anybody's opinions and stuff for liking this game, and I'm not saying you can't enjoy Fallout 3, but you have to admit that Fallout 3 is objectively the worst Fallout, as there is little to no emotional stakes and dilemmas for your character to come across in the world of Fallout 3. As in, there is no real choices to be made as you can only ever be either a goodie two shoes or Satan, there is no grey area where different opinions can lead to different choices that be both good or bad in different perspectives like in the previous games or even Fallout New Vegas. Also Todd Howard is an atrocious game designer, as he made the terrible mistake of generally leveling every enemy in the game to be beatable by a low level character as he thought that would be the easy solution to solving the problem of "if the player can go anywhere immediately how can we make sure they don't unfairly die against high level enemies?" As a result after a few level ups you are practically unstoppable and all sense of danger or tension from combat is erased. Another example Todd's lazy excuses for game design would be the quest marker, instead of using elements of the game's potential design or atmosphere to give the player a sense of direction he lazily put a marker in the bottom corner of our screen to help us. I ask you this, is it challenging or rewarding to discover a new area from walking in a straight line? No? I thought so. Now with all this negativity there is some positive things to be said about Fallout 3, like you said simply exploring the world can just be really fun in its own right and a good chunk of those side quests can be really engaging. However, what Bethesda and a lot of game reviewers say about this game, that it's a game about player choice and freedom, with a grand amount of good quality content when the evidence I provided with this comment clearly states the contrary, you should know that they are wrong, and that Fallout 3 is objectively the worst game in the series.     A good representation of what can go wrong when designing an open world. Game is boring, badly balanced, with an hilariously dumb morality set in poor dialogues, served by streamlined systems that didn't get a second thought. It is a mediocre FPS and an insult to all what original Fallout devs achieved with 1 and 2.

    I respect the Fallout series, but this is the worst part. From the very beginning of the game, after leaving the shelter, boredom begins. Especially the mission "Survival instructions". Why this flawed mission was added to the game is still not clear. The engine is simply disgusting, although for 2008 maybe norms.
    This game never went to the end, very boring.

    In terms of writing this game is pure nonsensical garbage. Meaningless choices or lack of them. No dark humor as in F1 and F2. Game treats you like a moronic child instead of an adult.

    Trash game, looks ugly, is nothing like original Fallout games, filled with bugs, stupid level design, putrid story, horribly quirky and plain dumb dialogues, dumbed down rpg system, I could go on but I really don't feel like it. The game doesn't deserve any attention. It's a walk in the amusement park with guns and **** baseball bats. A dull, stupid game.

    I thought it was a good game when I played it as a kid back in 2009. However, it really isn't good. It's a bad game in most aspects. Compare it to New Vegas and it's just pathetic in every way.

Впервые с фаллаутом 3 я познакомился еще в том году когда она скорее всего вышла, я не помню точно но вроде мне было 8 лет, я родился в 01 и скорее всего это был конец 9ого либо 10ый. Диск с игрой принес старший брат, мне он не разрешал в него играть, и я всегда мечтал поиграть в него самому в то время. Я боялся монстров, не знаю почему но икона пакета крови в пип бое меня вечно пугала и когда я смотрел на него у меня болела душа. И с этой игрой у меня связана фигня с тем что у меня в ушах начало звинеть и наверное из-за этого она мне запомнилась. И теперь наконец то в 19-ом году мои руки дошли в него нормально поиграть просто в других попытках игра вечно не хотела запускаться на современных виндувсах и я нашел решение, оказывается гоговцы перерелизнули игру с фиксами и игра работает как по маслу. И какое же мое удивление было когда я поел этого говна. Я просто не мог ожидать что игра может быть настолько плохой. Просто наверное может быть мое мнение не настолько объективное ведь я не играл в игру в 2008 или может быть я не могу сравнить её с играми того времени но блять она реально настолько плохая что пиздец! И какое же блять мое разочарование было когда я вижу оценку 91 на метакритике! Да и юзер скор блять 8 из 10! Сука! Почему люди такие говноеды? Почему сука? Почему я живу с такими долбоебами на одной ебучей планете? Из-за такой хуйни мне начинает казаться что я долбоеб а они все нормальные люди. Скорее всего этой хуйне даже есть научный термин или что-то в этом подобии. Тут даже описать не надо почему игра плоха, лор, квесты, анимации физика, стрельба, диалоги, баги. Иногда очень редко бывали интересные моменты но это очень редко. В игре нет выбора, ну он блять типа плохой или хороший, это не выбор это хуета. Смысл игры тоже хуевый найти отца который сдохнет (ОЙ БЛЯТЬ ПРОСТИТЕ ЗА СПОЙЛЕР) и вообще всем похуй и даже гг. Вообщем ну реально бля это полный калл даже для того времени.
    Ставлю хуевую оценку но не ниже как в Скайриме потому что более менее в эту залупу можно поиграть и получить "какое-то" удовольствие.    … Expand

Compared to its squeals, Fallout 3 has characters and companions with no personality, only existing to hand out quests to the player. The story is rather uninteresting and can be completed in under a hour if you follow only the main plot. The game in itself is plagued with glitches and mistakes thatFallout 3 is a all-round glitchy and rather boring game, with a weak plot and characters.     And also, in this new Fallout world, your freedom of action is greatly limited, plus your character variety is badly flawed. In Fallout previous, your attributed determined your skillsets, which determined your approach to the game, from brute force hulk with BIG guns, to the leader of a party through Charisma, Fallout allowed you ultimate freedom to solve your quests. Not Fallout 3. The few skills you have to work with now matter less than the three you actually need to finish the game.

    Yes, the world is huge compared to Fallout previous, but is so EMPTY compared to the previous offerings. It is a wasteland, devoid of the culture that made Fallout special. Plus the way you get sucked into the rushed ending, with no warning that you are in the endgame, left me frustrated that I really had no opportunity to explore the landscape fully.

    Overall, this feels like another game wearing Fallout clothes, and doing it badly. A below average FPS, and a bad RPG, but overall a slap in the face to RPG fans, and another stain on the franchise. Bethesda is absolute trash    … Expand

    The graphics are horrible, even for the time. I can't recall seeing something that wasn't grey in the entire game.

    In contrast to everything looking grey, all choices are pure black and white. They took a **** all over the worldbuilding of the first games, and now the Brotherhood of Steel are the hollywood good guys while the Enclave are the hollywood bad guys. Every choice in the game is either 1. I'm a hollywood bad guy 2. I'm a moustache twirling villain 3. I'll do it for money 3. [Intelligence check to even further explain the plot in case you have a mental disorder]. None of the choices matter at all, either. I won't go into spoilers, but the game even at the end explicitly prevents you from making a choice that has no downsides for absolutely no reason other than **** you for trying to get out of our cinematic storytelling and make your own path"

    Megaton for example, one of the earliest quests: 1. I'm gonna save the town 2. I'm gonna nuke the town for no apparent reason 3. No involvement. And that's not to mention that it makes absolutely no sense for them to have built a town around an active nuke.

    I could talk forever about the plot, but suffice it to say that I think they stole a 12 year old's fanfiction.

    They shifted the game to a first person shooter, because middle schoolers don't like isometric RPGs, but they kept in VATS to try to keep a semblance of turn based combat where it doesn't belong.

    The shooting mechanics are simply not well implemented and not fun. There are no iron sights, and gunplay is based off of stats, which of course doesn't work well.

    They introduce difficulty by giving enemies a lot of health and severely restricting your healing items, ammo, and weapons. The way durability and combat works generally is this: It takes 5 shots from a hunting rifle to kill a super mutant. I have 100 bullets and there are around 30 super mutants here, all better armed and more dangerous than I am. I shoot my hunting rifle 8 times and kill a super mutant, missing 3 shots due to the ****ty aiming. Now my gun is broken and I need to go find 3 more hunting rifles to make it usable again. Note that I say usable, because not a single weapon in the game feels truly strong.

    Another obvious change they made to dumb down the game, the introduction of quest markers. Gone are the days of paying attention, reading dialogue, and figuring things out and finding your own way. Now you just choose your generic good or bad guy options, and mindlessly follow quest markers until you get to go shoot more enemies and break all your weapons.

    All effort in the game clearly went towards sheer amount of content, because literally everything else in the entire game is bad in every way. I cannot think of a single redeeming quality for this game. **** Bethesda for making this absolute joke of a game, and destroying the Fallout series.    … Expand

This is just a shooter, "glorified" with a terrible story, awkward voice acting, AND you have to buy a dlc to continue playing after you finished the main story. Not to mention, the game is really easy due to the fact that the player could just rush the story. Also, in the last mission, you can't even really kill anybody, and you actively have to hunt enemies so maybe you can get the kill. The only reason it's even playable is the atmosphere of a post apocalyptic DC, and wandering in the totally unbalanced wastes. If you want to play a fallout game, just go play FNV, you won't regret it.… Expand

After countless hours trying to fix this miserable pile of feces,and reading at least 3 trillion ''solutions'' to stop the ungodly amounts of crashes, this piece of badly programmed garbage just refuses to work. I truly believe (and im not even exaggerating in the slightest when i say this) that a **** armless and mentally challenged bonobo could haveFALLOUT 3 EXE HAS STOPPED WORKING!! After countless hours trying to fix this miserable pile of feces,and reading at least 3 trillion ''solutions'' to stop the ungodly amounts of crashes, this piece of badly programmed garbage just refuses to work. I truly believe (and im not even exaggerating in the slightest when i say this) that a **** armless and mentally challenged bonobo could have done a MUCH BETTER JOB optimizing this gonorrhea than the reincarnations of Alan Turing that work at Bethesda.… Expand

    Minor niggles aside, Fallout 3 is almost entirely spectacular. Everything from the graphics, to the sound, to the plot is first-rate. The VATS system worlds like a charm, and it’s so easy to get the hang of, you’ll be cracking skulls like there’s no tomorrow. [Dec 2008, p.55]
