It's solitaire all right--and a lot of it. There's plenty of game to be played and it actually has a story and an XP system with some other subtle twists to an otherwise boring card game. It certainly works at passing the time by.

Takes a solid solitaire game and adds a story mode, power-ups, virtual pets, all skippable if you want. Has decent music and great ambient sounds. Great graphics. Very snappy game play, you can really make the cards fly. Solid.

If you look carefully, nothing revolutionary in this solitaire! Pets are absolutely useless except to artificially add lifetime to the game. They don't affect the gameplay. The "Spares" system show how an addition may seem clever at first, but easily converts into absurdity (see my video: http://youtu.be/xEOlM-NYNOk).

Faerie Solitaire is fun little time waster. Probably the best twist on a card game for a video game that I've seen. It's worth the $5, but chances are if you ever play it it's cause you got it for free. This game has some of the most generous and innovative developers, who have employed great marketing strategies for this game and it's upcoming sequel (which I think I'll buy after playing this).

A rather addictive solitaire simulator with a level up system. While you play, you can unlock additional bonuses and grow small pets. While this game is a variant of solitaire rather than a purist game, it provides a great game to run in the background while doing more important tasks. The story is simple, but interesting, and the gameplay is rather enjoyable to all who enjoy the card game.

Solid solitaire game for those who appreciate one. There are some twists in gameplay which are nice, but nothing spectacular. A solid pickup for 5 bucks.

By all rights I should hate this... Fairies, virtual pets, ugly graphics, twee as twee can bee (misspelling of be on purpose to emphasize the twee) but the game mechanic is so damn good it doesn't matter. CURSE YOU FOR MAKING ME LIKE THISSSS!!!

The faerie part makes no sense. A more fitting name would be Fun Solitaire. The emphasis is on fun, more than you could expect of a card game. It's not the deepest game, and it doesn't require real strategic thinking. Only a bit of planning when you have several options for a current card. The unlockables are totally inconsequential so only incentive to continue the campaign is 'more fun'.The faerie part makes no sense. A more fitting name would be Fun Solitaire. Entertaining game. Easy way to burn some time. Story mode, challenges, quick play all included. Power ups are available to make the game easier. Most achievements are simple to earn for the achievement hunter. There are pets that can be collected while playing. Depending on your luck may take a ton of hours to collect them all for 100% completion.

A very good casual game with relaxing ambient sounds, also kind of addicting because of items collection and a sense of progression and challenge.

The story isn't good, but the game doesn't need it. The eggs and pets are useless, just a collection completely apart from the game, and if you're an achievement hunter you'll probably being mad to collect the pets related ones, because it's

There is a problem with the widescreen resolutions, you have to play it at 800x600 windowed or have graphic quality losses.

    But it still very enjoyable.

Taking on the already perfect and addictive Solitaire and making it better is a tough job, but Faerie Solitaire manages to maintain the feeling and addictiveness of the original game while adding new, interesting features, further improving the game.

Faerie Solitaire is slowly eating my life and I'm totally OK with that. I read this game has won some award for "most addictive game"... can't disagree.

It is a great time burner, with additions to the card game, to make it more appealing and long lasting.
If you get it on steam, it's half the price than on their web site, which, is 10 USD, that, is too expensive for that game.
I've logged more than 15 hours on the game and the game holds just right.
It's the type of game you can pick upo when you're bored and burn half an hour just fine

Faerie Solitaire is a very solid game. It contains a lot of value for a low price and proves that solitaires don't have to be boring. The game has some minor bugs as well as pets which are not important at all. Still, it's very good and astonishing in simplicity game.

Faeire Solitaire lets you play solitaire on the computer. Why would this be better than playing solitaire with a deck of cards? It is probably not, but it is easier. Because it offers more variation. There are various different goals, various different placements of the cards and various additional features such as frozen cards that only become playable after a certain other card is turned over. All of this works fairly well, because the game is fun to play. As is real solitaire, with real playing cards.

The game also has a story. Basically a story about a kid in a magical land with fairies that seems to be written for pre-teens and which lacks any real creativity. It is not helped by the horrible voice acting which is over-dramatic to the point of being ridiculous. Frankly I felt that the game would have been better of without any story at all.

The normal difficulty level is much to easy, and the next harder difficulty level is almost a bit too hard sometimes. It would have been nice to have another difficulty level in between.

The music is okay, but not nearly varied enough. Sound effects are minimal. The graphics are adequate but nothing special.

All in all I don't really see any good reason to play this game instead of a free computer based solitaire game or even better real solitaire with real playing cards.
