    Though this expansion is small and inexpensive, it fits perfectly into Endless Legend, filling in gaps and extending concepts. It’s a mite uninspired—as we said giants and wonders aren’t exactly alien to 4X games—and it doesn’t fix the bigger problems with the game—that underwhelming combat—but it certainly guards against anyone stealing the 4X crown, for the time being.

    It’s a fine follow up, and I can’t recommend it enough, but I also cannot shake that nagging feeling that everything it brings to bear wasn’t adding anything new, it was merely completing the original.

    Guardians is a nice, cheap little expansion. You get a bunch of new buildings, units, and quest like goals to achieve for a low price. It'sGuardians is a nice, cheap little expansion. You get a bunch of new buildings, units, and quest like goals to achieve for a low price. It's changes the way you play the game by adding new legendary buildings which provide massive bonuses to whoever can get them up first. It adds deeds which are small goals that provide boosts to whoever finishes them first. It also adds Guardians, massive units capable and destroying an entire army themselves. Still, unless you're an avid player, you may find it doesn't add enough to warrant a purchase. Guardians won't get you re-addicted to the game like Brave New World or Gods and Kings did for Civilization. But it adds enough to freshen the experience for a few games.… Expand
